Ms. Carney was one of the most supportive teachers I've ever had! She brings out the best in you and she is always there if you have questions about anything in her class. Her assignments are awesome, interesting, and they make you think. Overall a great class and great teacher!

Carney is a difficult teacher and very intimidating. To get an A in the class, you really have to put a lot of effort. She's a perfectionist and overachiever. She wants you to be the same. Thankfully, i got a 98% in the class. Just be prepared to do a lot of reading and pages upon pages of writing. Despite the difficulty, I enjoyed the class.

Ths teacher is incredebly smart and she knows what needs to be done for students to learn. her class is tough no doubt but an A is concievable. She is not a bi*** as a lot of students claim she just does not like repeating her self. take her class but be ready to work.

if you plan to take craney because you think she is an easy teacher who will let you slack off, think again. she expects you to work as hard as she does. I can assure you if you take her class, in no time you will love the class, the work, and the professor.

This is an incredible and sharp professor. Whoever says she is not helpful is simple, lazy, and incompetent.I have never receievd so much help from any teacher before. She is the most intelligent person I have ever met who expects people to actaully EARN a COLLEGE degree. I have never learned so much.

She's a tough teacher with an attitude. She either likes you or not. A little bit of a feminist also. If you do the work, you'll do fine but I didn't like her attitude. I would ask her questions and she would either brush me off or make a dumb joke to make me feel stupid. Also, she's extremely picky on punctuality. Avoid!!

I think people that think this class is hard probably just don't speak English very well. She assigns the amount of work that is expected to be done by an English 100 student. Nothing more, nothing less. If you can't pass her class then you don't deserve to pass English 100.

Of course, English 100 is a freshman level. Professor Carney truly teach you how to write a college essay. Don't put high school style in her class. She wants the best out of you. I got a B on my first essay but A for the rest. The overall is A++++++ U need tip for A essay? Write a super clear, super narrow thesis statement. Be clear and not wordy!

I took her online...Always sent her emails to have her read my thesis statement...and get A ....as someone said here..she paid a lot of attention to your thesis statement.she is a very challenging teacher and she passed on this manner to me..she improved me a lot...Take her!

Yes its tru. d.carney put d AWE in awesome! But you will have tobe there and participate or yu'll get called out.Have your papers just right. If you do all this she will give all kinds of help and your brain might grow. If not brother, you will be out in the snow cold and sad. Don't say I didnt warn ya.

I'm taking her online. I've learned a lot. If you follow the instructions she gives for the essays you should do fine. I was intimidated with the work at first until I got a B on my 1st essay and an A on my 2nd. Just know this is NOT an easy A. She requires a lot of work on her papers but you have plenty of time to do them.

At first her class seems intimidating. I got an "A" in her class, so if you do all the work expect a passing grade. She is very helpful and nice. She responds to e-mails pretty fast, and she doesn't make you feel like a moron when answering your questions. Do all the work ESPECIALLY the journals, they got me my A in the class. Great teacher

Professor Carney is an awesome teacher! Even though her class is not the easiest class in the world, you can still get a high grade with the right amount of effort and concentration. I'm taking her online ENG 100 class. She's extremely strict but extremely nice as well. ASK HER ANY QUESTION. SHE WILL TRY HER BEST TO HELP. Just don't ask stupid questions. I have gotten A LOT OF HELP from Professor Carney. You'll have to work for your grade. If you put in the extra effort you will begin to see how helpful she is.

I took her online class and overall it was good. D.Carney always responded to my emails and clarified great. She lets you do some re-writes if you need to. It was a bit of writing, buy hey its English, what do you expect. Class itself = B, D.Carney gets and A, fair grading, always responded fast, crystal clear directions.

To be honest I have learned more from this teacher in 3 weeks then I have ever learned before.There is alot of excellent information given and like someone else wrote; she is very joyful as a person. She talks alot about students succes and she is also very picky but in a good way.

Took her class during summer online. Easy class take it if your willing to do the work. Got an A over all.

She is a phenomenal professor over all. If you like a person who is detail-oriented, instructive, and have a great sense of humor you landed in a great class.

She is so pretty you can just sit there and look at her and you would like the class. Butokay she is funny and a great teacher. I got an A in the class.She does alot of grammar and you have to do all the work. There is a lot of group work and that makes it fun. I liked the poetry paper the best.

This class is pretty tough online. The papers are long, but it can be done if you are willing to put the time in. She answers emails pretty quick.

NOTE: NOT EASY!!!!I think I am getting an A in this class, so this would be an accomplishment.Ms. Carney is very nice but also very demanding.Truly, I have worked VERY hard on my papers which you will need to do if you want to succeed.If she sees you making an effort, she will bend over backwards to help you. This is a good class + strong teacher.

Took her online English 100 class, do not be fooled. This class is very hard and is not a class for slackers. She does not use the ifalcon system as she has her own site for this class online. Basically it has all her assignments there for with due dates. Very hard class and attendance is mandatory to get enrolled only and for the final.

This class was online, but Carney helped me alot during office hours and with emails. I have taken her for another class also and she is always cheery and want you to succeed. You should write a strong thesis statment and be in the MLA if u want to do well on the papers.I would take her again but she doesn't teach the higher levels of English.

Professor Carney is a great motivator with high energy.She is clear and straightforward telling you exactly what needs to be done.Superb.

I believe this professor is WONDERFUL ...If you need help she is there and willing its hard to find teachers who care for there student and understands them.....

I have to say that this was no easy online class. We had to do about 30 pages of reading analysis in addition to our essays and they had to have MLA style quotes. If you don't like to write a lot or to follow the instructor's very precise directions, do not take this class. The grading is a little tough but the instructor will help.

Professor Carney prepares you to transfer. I have already benefitted from what I learned in her class because it is real college work.I would highly recommend.

Took her online 100 class, if you know what you are doing you will be fine. She is very helpful during her office hours and will look over your work. She is nice and understanding, very professional. From behind, I thought she was a student, very lovely.

I took her online course which was challenging but rewarding. She was very helpful and always replied to my many e mails in a timely manner. She's also quite pretty which is a bonus. Her essays do require work so I only recommend her class if you can stay on top of things and are up for a challenge.

I was very surprised and happy to get an A in this class. The essays are long, complicated and require serious effort but if you put the time in you can do this. Assignments are interesting, and we wrote on every reading from the 2 books plus a novel, which are pretty good.Professor Carney helps in office hours and answers email fast.

This teacher is very helpful and nice. She puts the time into answering your questions thoroughly and seems to really care about what she's doing. She is also stunning.

I took her 100 class online my first semester and breezed right through it (though I do enjoy writing!). I got an A on all of my papers and on the final, resulting in an A in the class without any extra credit. If needed, I would take another of her online classes. She seemed nice in person, though I only met her twice. :)

She's a great professor. She's really easy to get a hold of and the assignments were well spaced out and not all that difficult.

Right off the bat, two consecutive three page assignments due four days into the class. Was a nine week course and average at least a page a day with a lot of research, citing, and video watching. The bright side is, if you can write you will get a good grade and if your strapped for cash most of the videos are free minus the Netflix. Great class!

Great teacher and a great class. I followed the directions and spent a lot of time writing. The professor almost always responded immediately to my emails.

I enjoyed taking Professor Carney's class. The assignements were well spaced out consdiering that this was a nine week class, and though there was quite a bit of research involved in three of the major papers, the assignments were interesting and relevant. I would take her again, but I am transferring. I really like that the sources were all online and free and that the professor posted other research items for us also. You will write-and write-and write in this class but you will also learn things and improve.

Carney's class is difficult, but she will answer any question fast by email. Don't take this class if you can't completely dedicate your time to the assignments, because they are long and detailed. You need to stay on top of everything but there are plenty of resources and two books. She always messages the class with tips. I like the class.

Carney is a great teacher. I took this class online and as others have said, she always responded to my emails quickly and thoroughly. Messages are posted daily, and you also receive them as email. The assignment expectations are really clear. Her grading is fair, but she can be very demanding and have high expectations for essays.

I truly enjoyed being a part of her online English 100 class. All assignments and essays are very clear. She is on top of everything and she offers extra credit which will certainly help you. She always provides such great feedback! I would definitely recommend her to anybody who is independent and enjoys having online classes! Definitely a 10/10!

I loooooved this class and hope all my teachers will be this good and this caring . She really wants you to achieve and was very encouraging to me throughout this semester . I had a big problem which she helped me get through. The work is hard and you must be able to write but it is worth the effort you have to put forward.

Ms. Carney's class is like what you expect when you get to college b/c it's so different than high school where you don't have to think or ever be challenged. I really liked her teaching style alot! She explained everything so clearly on Canvas. She also graded me fair on my essays and other assignments. Always answered emails fast. Take her class!

This was a tough six weeks course but the professor is always available and she puts out many announcements and helpful hints . We had to view quite a lot of resource videos and read most of the readings in the book. I failed Carneys class the first time , but got an A this time. Long essays! She is very helpful.

Very good so far. She does not take late work, but offers rewrites on major essays., which is good because she is a VERY tough grader. Very easy to reach and answers back same day.

I took Professor Carney last semester and although she was a tough grader and I mean REALLY tough; I learned so much in that class. Her feedback is amazing! No professor has ever taken their time to give honest and constructive feedback. You WILL use the textbook and her syllabus is going to be your bible, use those two and put in work.

I took Dr. Carney over the summer online. The class moved quicker than I expected but it was in 6 weeks, after all. This is a no-nonsense teacher. If you want to do well you must be a strong writer. You need to buy the book, which you will use most of it,working with your group for papers and using technology throughout the class. She explains well

Excellent class. I thought her grading was very fair. I was between two grades by only a few points, and she bumped me up to the higher one at the end.I am happy with how I did in the class and I thought the assignments were very good. She answers email very quickly.

This is a professor who rewards hard work and penalizes the lack of it. Thats how it should be. I have had a really positive experience in her class, but of course, I can write. Her comments have been really helpful and I do believe I am a better writer now because of her. She responds back almost immediately with paragraphs of helpful advice.

Just finished a six week course with her. She answered questions immediately. I thought the assignments were pretty easy and the grading was fair.

A lot of writing assignments, expect to do 3 essays throughout the semester. As long as you do all the work you're assigned throughout the semester, it's an easy pass. If you happen to take one of her asynchronous class make sure to be there on time. She offers extra credit and redemption assignments.

The course is hard, but the instructor explains assignments in great detail.I took it synchronously, so we had to attend live meetings. She was there right at 7am and expected the same. A lot of group work and a group oral presentation, but individual grading was 80%.Lectures were very helpful, and she is very accessible through email and Zoom.

Great real-time class online. 3 major essays and 10 x 2 paged written responses, 4 quizzes, final exam, and an oral presentation. Instructor was very clear and helpful. If you make the effort, you should be fine. Skipping work is not an option.

I'm taking her for Masterpieces of World Literature. Granted, I am a transferring English major like many of my peers in class, but I have loved the amazing readings, discussion boards, and assignments in this class.Not a difficult course to pass, but there's A LOT of reading. Professor is very available to her students & answers back immediately.

English 100 with this professor was great! She is really helpful and gets back to you right away. The assignments are easy to follow and very detailed with many videos that she makes and Powepoints. I highly recommend her to everyone.

In 2001, I had the privilege of being a student in Professor Carney's ENG 20 class at Cerritos. As an ESL student, I felt that her constructive feedback, encouragement and genuine care was invaluable to my academic growth. Her dedication, methodology and passion for teaching encourage me to go the extra mile. I really enjoyed her lectures!

I had a great class with her.She answers quickly and with lots of details. She gives online YouTube lectures for different skills and for all important assignments and the syllabus. We did a special essay for black history month with various literatures and sources.I would strongly suggest this teacher because she is helpful and clear like crystal.

Professor Carney is my favorite teacher at Cerritos College. It's a real college course, not like high school, which I have experienced with other teachers. The course is difficult, but if you apply yourself, you will probably succeed. Materials are very clear and her website ( Canvas) is impeccable and easy to follow, not like other classes.
