Shes a great teacher and explains the material better than I have ever seen anyone teach before. She is to the point and wont take peoples crap. Shes a serious scientist but does joke around sometimes. Do the work, put in your best effort, and you will do well.

She's COOL! It's not an easy subject but she goes out of her way to help you understand the material. She appears conceited at times but in reality she is pretty down to earth. Oh yeah, should mention that she's a young and beautiful teacher...her eyes are stunning!

Attendance is a big deal in her class because she requires daily quizzes, but they're not that bad because she explains very well. She's pretty young so she can relate to her class a lot. All of her explanations are thorough and she's willing to teach the material differently if you're not getting it. Blunt, to the point - great class in general.

She is kind of nerdy. She obviously loves her subject so she teaches it well. She is really cute too!

Amazing professor. Lectures are interesting, fun and relatable to life. Quizzes are daily but very easy if notes are studied. Workbook is essential and is very helpful when understanding concepts. Test are relatively hard, just make sure to study lecture notes and complete the workbook assignments. She is also very helpful!

Only way to fail this class is to not show up. Actually i only showed up about 2/3 of the time and got a B so even then the class is easy. She is sort of nerdy though, but being pretty nice to look at helps.

She is way cool unless your a complete moron. then you probably shouldnt be in college anyway. she explains how to do the labs in like 10 min and you can work on it while she explains. you dont have to be on time, theres xtra credit and leave early. cant get much better than that...

She's a great teacher in general. There is a lot of difficult material in the Stars and Galaxies course, but she has a great way of relating it to a context you can easily understand! Not bad to look at either!

She is an amazing teacher I had her for my astro class last semester and her lab this semester. Her lab is so easy attendence and effort is needed, and thats about it. she is awesome I would definatly recomend her to other students.

Very Helpful and clear on what you need to know for the test. No hw but in-class workbook assignments and test are from lectures. Go to her for any questions.

Very nice teacher! She explains the subject so well, and Astronomy can become very confusing. Loves her subject and it shows through her goofy attitude. As long as you pay attention and study for tests this class should be no problem!

Her class can be difficult, but if you come ready to learn she will teach you more than you can imagine about the universe. Show up to class every day, do good on the daily quizzes, and you'll breeze right through.

She is my favorite teacher at SCC! lab was fun, interesting. never any homework, and you learn a bunch. her teaching method is KISS (keep it simple stupid) so everyone understands and enjoys the labs. it involves math formulas but she keeps it as easy as she can. it is astronomy folks so expect to think a little bit. btw shes really pretty n smart

I entered this class loving astronomy. I took it as an elective and not just to get science out of the way. Ms. Martino is a very nice and knowledgable teacher; helpful and clear. The class was extremely easy. I felt like I wanted to learn more, but there was too many idiots in this class. No homework. Tests are easy. No book necessary. Got an A.

Very awesome teacher! Keeps lectures interesting and the work you have to do is dead easy. She has a good sense of humor and she uses it a lot during the lectures. I showed up may 2/3's of the time and still managed a B. There are a lot of little quizzes though, but they're easy if you pay attention and take decent notes.

Kind of a weird personality, she is definately a space tripper. She is really into second life and world of warcraft. SHE IS NOT HOT!! no chilli pepper. However that being said the class was easy and she kept things entertaining.

Show up to class on time for the daily quizzes. Take good notes as she goes over exactly what you need to know for test. She is quirky and keeps the class entertaining. She makes it very easy to understand concepts by telling "stories." Tests are all multiple choice, no homework.

Pretty clear on material, in class activities, no homework, no reading. She gives a 3 point quiz at the beginning of every class, which accounts for fifteen percent of your grade. I got A's on all the test, but because of these quiz's i wound up with a B. She is also really annoying, curses to act cool. She loves world of warcraft and second life

Her lectures are perfectly clear and interesting. I was worried to go into astronomy but she really makes it understandable and easy. Take her.

Gr8 Teacher! Had tons of fun in class.. and even though I had no clue about astronomy ( still don't but not her fault) I passed! Plus she's pretty hot

she talks to you like you're 12 a lot of the time which is annoying. she give a 3 question quiz every class and there are 5 tests throughout the class. overall the class was ok she was just annoying.

She gives a lab each week, and has you work with a partner. But, the lab work must be entirely your own. Doesn't take the whole class period- when you're finished with your lab, you can leave. She clearly explains everything, and she helps with questions without just giving you the answer. One extra credit opportunity

Martino is a great professor and makes the class very fair and interesting..definitely recommend taking this class. Easy A if you read your notes and go to class and actually listen to her lectures.

She's pretty cool and goes out of her way (ensuing ridiculousness at times lol) to make sure you understand everything before she moves on. Some of the questions she asks are pretty confusing, but she wants you to put in the effort and fully understand everything. Real cool lady who deserves a way better job!

she was very interesting always had funny stories to tell, but all's she did was lecture, no homework nothing. the only thing that is counted is your test and quizzes, which are every day. she does not tell you how to study or what to study for the exams. my advise don't take her find another teacher!

One of the best teachers I'v ever had. She makes class fun and interesting, and makes the topics easy so that even the dumbest of dumb students can understand it. However if you want an A, at least a little hard work is needed, as in every class. She also alot of extra credit and free points. I would definitely recommend her for an EASY A!

Attendance is important. There are daily quizzes with simple questions from the previous lecture. If you're not interested in astronomy already, you probably won't enjoy it, but you'll love it if you're into the subject. The tests can be challenging but she's totally willing to help if you need it. One of the best classes I've taken.

This professor is WONDERFUL. She is the clearest professor I've ever had, nothing that she doesn't say in class is on the test and no textbook necessary. The techniques she has are scientifically proven to work- but only if you are willing to pursue a good grade, which I'm assuming you are. I got an easy A in both classes I took with her. LOVE HER.

Great at relating lectures to real-life scenarios and makes class fun and interesting with her quirkiness and sense of humor. Attendance is really important because there are quizzes every day. Tests are really difficult, though, so if you want to pass, expect to study. A lot. Overall I enjoyed the class, but I wouldn't have her as a teacher again.

Ms. Martino is a great teacher. Her lectures are pretty entertaining and they just make sense. (You'll see what I mean) Just show up to class 90% of the time, take notes and you will get an easy B. You cannot pass this class by just showing up for exams, there is a quiz every day and she gives out extra credit randomly during classes.

Decent class, but very moody teacher. Some days she's happy and helpful, and then other days she's not. Very nit picky with her labs, but if you show up every week and do the labs, you shouldn't walk out of the class with anything less than a B.

This class is very easy. Anyone who try's could get an A in her class. Attendance is Mandatory or points are deducted. We NEVER used the textbook so save the money on it! Class is an easy A, but she treats you like you're a child...

She really is a great teacher. I enjoyed her analogies and helpful hints. It was nice to not have to buy the text book so attendance is very important. She wants you to work with people in class and try and get the answers yourself, if you're really stuck then she will answer any question if you ask her during office hours. Overall fun class!

A little silly at times, but very enjoyable. She makes the class get involved and everyone has fun with it. At the same time she gives you all the information you need to get an A in class. No textbook. There is a workbook she recommends for additional practice but it isn't required to pass the class.

She really knows her stuff and truly enjoys teaching it. If it's an earlylate class sometimes she isn't as into it. Her tests are hard but if you show up everyday and look over your notes for the every class quizzes honestly you should be fine. she has print outs of the notes that you can just fill in the blanks. In class work but not for a grade.

You absolutely have to attend every class and pay attention, miss one class and you will be completely lost. The whole class is tough really, but not all that miserable if you pay attention and take excellent notes! PS the final is accumulative and there are no study guides. I did enjoy the class though, don't take this one if you're a lazy student

Martino is a great professor. She makes it clear what you need to study to pass. Everything comes from lectures and the workbook. It's not an easy A but she gives you all of the tools to succeed and not really any homework. Only complaint is that she is always open to questions but sometimes is condescending in her response.

I took this class for my science credits, but I had a fascination with astronomy. The teacher is very engaging and uses a variety of techniques to make sure we remember the stuff we learned such as pop quizzes, workbooks, and half-sheets of paper. Overall, a very fun class!

Prof. Martino is an amazing teacher. She really tries to help her students with the material and makes it interesting during her lectures. THE WORKBOOK IS A MUST. She uses multiple problems from it on the tests. You don't need to worry about buying a textbook, however.

Anyone who says she is a bad teacher failed in their own fault. Martino was a great teacher you just have to pay attention. Do that and you will pass!

Great teacher! Not too hard of a class if you just pay attention and take notes. There is a workbook that goes along with the class she uses a lot, and it's really helpful. Make sure you do that in class when she says to get in groups. Also, make sure you study for the tests or you're not going to pass

Professor Martino is a great teacher. I took this class just to fill my General Ed requirement, but she really made Astronomy more interesting to me. Her lectures are hilarious and make the material a lot easier to understand.

Martino's facination with astronomy is contagious! Very kind and funny prof! Had facinating lectures. Had a 4 question quiz every class. A few easy HW assignments here and there. Either hard or easy exams. I would 100% recommend her and I would take her class again! Very intelligent prof who is passionate about Astronomy!

Danielle is such a great professor! She's funny and tries to keep everyone engaged. Her daily quizzes are easy points if you go to class and pay attention. If you're lazy, don't take this class. You do have to earn your grade. Her tests are easy as well, just look at the notes and powerpoints. She doesn't require the textbook, but the workbook is.

makes it very clear on the first day you do not need the textbook, but you WILL need the lecture tutorials workbook. very nice professor who is passionate about astronomy and makes the lectures very understandable and exciting!

You MUST pay attention, cannot be lazy. I improved like crazy toward the end of the semester and scored an 86% on the hardest exam we would have. She is so educated on astronomy and she is an amazing teacher. NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED BUT USE THE WORKBOOK! If you want to learn about stars and galaxies TAKE THIS CLASS I loved her so much!!

Martino is awesome. Literally all you have to do is show up to class and take notes. Her lectures are fun and engaging. She always gives you the tools to study. Attendance is mandatory as she gives out quiz at the beginning of each class. Classes are typically participation heavy. She's pretty funny and encourages questions. There is no hw.

She sometimes dumbs things down too much. Astronomy is not that hard to understand, not even the math. Other than that she is a decent professor who does not have a fake personality. You don't need the textbook but I still rented it. I need a textbook in front of me whether a professor says I need it or not. I use that textbook everyday on my own.

Attendance is taken by short daily quizzes, but it's not mandatory. 3 exams, 1 cumulative final. Easy online homework due each exam (also used as a study guide). Prof Martino drops your worst exam grade, and 4 of your worst quiz grades. She was fun and chill and inspired curiosity about astronomy. I would definitely take her again.

Prof Martino always tries her best to make the lectures fun. There are easy daily quizzes (4 points each). "Hw" is like a pre-test before each exam. She gives 3 exams (drops the lowest one) + Final. If you get As on all 3 exams & good grade overall on quiz/hw, she exempts you from the final! One of the best classes I've taken :)

Her personality is actually what sets her apart from everyone else. She is very outgoing and funny and likes to make class fun. If anything, you should watch her to see how extroverted people act. She really knows how to work a room. I wish I was naturally outgoing like her.

This professor really knows her stuff. There are 3 midterms and they get a bit harder each time. USE the green book she tells u to buy and pay attention to quiz answers after the daily quiz. You will do really well in her class and I'm not a science major (:

(online course!) Honestly the structure of this class is GREAT. The most difficult part of this class is WE NEVER GOT THE ANSWERS TO THE HW WE DID. Exams are based on the hw and I only have my peers to turn to for answers. WHAT IF WE ARE ALL WRONG? LOL. We'll never know. Not sure if she expects every single 1 of us go to office hours for answers?

The lecture for weekly module is slides, readings, and videos; don't do it all in one sitting. She assigns weekly discussion boards and quizzes, they're really easy only if you are doing the material from lecture. She is a tough grader for exams and they are a bit difficult but if you're doing good on the quizzes you'll be fine.

Super important to take notes! While attendance isn't mandatory she has daily quizzes based on the previous class lecture. Her lectures were super fun and engaging, The tests were manageable but you definitely need to study for them.

Professor Martino's class wasn't nearly as math-focused as I'd hoped, but I had a great time anyway and learned a lot. I felt encouraged but never forced to participate.

The course load is fairly light, just read some textbook chapters and review a power point or two. Weekly homework consisted of a discussion form as well as a quiz. I didn't read a single textbook chapter or watch any videos, I don't think they were necessary. The exams a far more difficult than the quizzes. Slow grader as well.
