A nice guy who is very animated. Full of cheesy stories and perhaps not aware that he is repeating them over and over. Listen to all his lectures and you won't need the textbook. One required 5 page paper to be written on THE REAL WAR ON CRIME.

VERY VERY easy class. Funny guy, doesnt really care about you as an individual, but too easy of a class to care. You use cheat sheets on the midterm and final for god's sake...watch two movies, take three tests (including final) and thats all. Dont buy the book, strictly off of notes! TAKE IT!

Vieria is a cool guy, class doesn't consist of much just 5 h/w assignments which are a breeze and 3 test none of which are cumulative, it's a good class if you want to study soc, tests are extremly easy if you put some time into it.

He's like the teacher in high school everybody wanted to take a class with. Tests are straightforward out of lectures, no book needed for any of his classes, and no weird surprises.

Really nice and easy. The tests come right off his notes. The weekly homework takes like ten minutes. He's usually pretty funny. He's probably not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he knows his sociology. Definately reccomended.

The class was pretty easy I took it during the summer and got an A. His stories are funny and he has a good way of relating the material to everyday life. My only complaint is that he likes to work his liberal point of view into class and its annoying. Read his blog on his website and you'll see.

When I found out this class was being taught by a soc prof I was disappointed. After the first day I was glad that I was able to have him as professor. I learned alot and he made summer school alot easier to go to.

Doctor Dan's class is a riot! It's also easy if you have half a brain. FYI, he teaches an identical, more expensive class at CSUN, so if you're a Soc/Crim major going to CSUN, TAKE THIS CLASS. Him and Uncle Dave (Ballard) are the names to look out for.

Viera is like the cool teacher in highschool, everybody likes him. He makes fun class and the test are non-cumulative. The final is just the last few chapters of the book. Makes funny refernces and examples and knows how to get students attention. Lets you use a notecard, front and back, on every test so if UR notes can fit U can easily get an A.

Uncle Dan is great. The class is fun you get to learn about cool social problems like sex, drugs, and crime. The tests are 95% from his lectures and 5% from the text so attendance neccessary. Vieira's class is easy if you do well on the tests and turn in all of the current events you'll get and A without having to really try.

Uncle Dan is the man. If you don't take one of his classes, there is a reason why you are at MC rather than a 4-year. Class is lecture based, but its entertaining to watch him talk about the material in a context relating to life. Some profs teach you theory, he actually shows you where it applies in real life. This man needs a promotion!

Very, very, very easy class. Nice guy, but a bit of a dork. Your grade is based on three exams and three quizzes (you can drop a quiz). If this seems like a lot of pressure, it isn't. Other people said I didn't need the book, but he said I did, so I bought it anyway. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK unless you have the money or are planning on majoring.

Dan is one of my favorite professors at Moorpark. He makes his class interesting. He teaches your the material & then gives you an example of it by telling a hilarious story. Hes so funny & so sweet. This Class Is Super Easy, All you have to do is show up and take lecture notes. Tests are mutiple choise with 2 easy essay question you go over in class. A good, nice teacher, but boring class. He does try hard to keep class interesting and fun. It's just not. There is a lot of in class group projects, and tests are pretty hard, but you get a 3x5 note card which allows you to get an A if you spend at least a few hours filling the card out and studying.

All his tests are from the lecture and videos you watch in class. We watched movies like Colors and Shawshank Redemption. Tests are multiple choice and essay, quizzes are multiple choice. Not a hard class at all if you pay attention to the lectures and attend class. Teacher does a good job at keeping students engaged.

Mr. Vieira is a great teacher. I took his criminology class and it was so easy. Basically as long as you come to class and take notes you will do very well in the class. Test are very straight forward and he tells you whats going to be on them ahead of time. The book is hardly used all test questions come from the inclass notes.

He's calls himself "uncle dan". And that really sets the tone for the class. It really feels like your taking a class from a family member (distant). He is pretty easy going and humorous. Class was pretty simple and the topic was engaging. After awhile it did become pretty routine but he is a chill guy at least. Go for it!

What i have to do with this class is trying not to miss any class cuz listenning to his lecture is the key for tests. Book is not really necessary that much for tests but it is a key for homework !!! lol. Buy the previous version with $5.30 in Amazon and use it sometimes for homework is not a bad deal. In short, easy A and fun !

I have taken him for Soc 1 & Soc 16 and easily got an "A" in both. You do NOT need the textbook since test questions ONLY come from material discussed in class. Visit him during office hours, and he will even offer you a piece of BUBBLE-GUM. How cool is that? :)

One of the BEST teachers I've had at Moorpark yet. I had a 2 hour class with him and it flew by because of how interesting his lectures are. Easy tests, easy homework, and I actually learned in his class. Take Uncle Dan you wont regret it!!

All of the material on the tests was covered and he always answered specific questions. There's 5 homework assignments, 3 quizzes, and 3 tests. The tests and quizzes are not cumulative. He also gives optional study guides and allows a typed notecard front and back on tests. The lowest quiz grade drops. Extra credit. I ended up with 499/500 points!

Professor Vieira is one of the best professors I ever had at Moorpark College. His teaching style is super clear and he is very helpful. Before taking his class, I had little interest in sociology but now, he got me interested in double majoring in Sociology and Psychology. I hope to have more professors like him after I transfer.

Amazing class, amazing teacher. Knows his CJ stuff. The only complaint I have is that he doesn't do more to curb the rude comments of students during triggering lectures--but, honestly, I think that's because there's an annoying fan in front of the room, and he can't hear them.

One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Weekly quiz and discussion, bi-weekly assignment due. An easy A. Textbook isn't really necessary, all of the lectures and powerpoints are up online.

It's as easy as showing up taking notes and paying attention you only have three test and he lets you use a notecard and only like 5 hw assignments as long as u take notes and reread the chapter you'll pass! And his lectures are super interesting and makes them very funny with personal stories I would take his class again you won't regret it!

Take this class!!! He lets you use notecard on every test. I took the hybrid of this class. Took all quizzes online and they were easy. Only 2 homework assignments. Offers extra credit. Attendance is not mandatory but you will want to go to class. Interesting because he tells a lot of personal stories.

If you are looking for an Honors course, take this one. Highly recommend, very funny professor and excellent teaching style. A must take over Cynthia-Barnett who also teaches the course and, apparently, makes it incredibly difficult.

Honestly one if my favorite teachers at moorpark college ! He makes his lectures so interesting with explanations of the material with life stories of his own. He gives room for students in the class to share their opinions and experiences as well. Always willing to help ! Amazing instructor ! You go "Uncle Dan "(nickname he goes by) ! You rock !

Best teacher in the whole universe ! I've come across great teachers during my education career but not like proffesor Vieira. Clear and understandable lectures, online tests are based on notes and lots of extra credit opportunities. And there is one group presentation. He's willing to help anyone who needs help. He always has a positive attitude!

If you have or want to take this class, there is not other teacher to take I with ! Professor Vieria is the one ! You wot regret it, you will thank me later ! Trust me. Wonderful instructor!

Uncle Dan! He's the best. If you're going to take an Intro class, take him. Really easy, all tests are online. 4 Assignments from the readings, and a final project. Tells great stories during lecture and is an easy-going dude. Love him, love him, love him.

Uncle Dan!! This class was really easy. there is 4 assignments and 5 tests, all online. He drops the lowest test grade and gives plenty extra credit points. After doing the extra credit I got a 102% in the class. Dan is a funny guy and always makes class entertaining. I recommend taking this class!!

There are very few HW assignments, simple module structure & a quiz each week. You also have to participate in discussions but this is all easy stuff. His feedback is so helpful & he is punctual with his grading. I enjoyed how he presented the lectures & study material; it was easy to understand. There is NO final, only 11 MC quizzes with 10-20q.

Very humorous, reading is a must! Lectures are every class, that are extremely interesting. Do not miss class, because you could get behind. Power points are posted on D2L. Easy if you do your part.

Uncle Dan is the best! Honestly, I became really interested in criminology after taking his class and I am looking at changing my major because this class was so good. Dan is an amazing teacher and a really good guy, not to mention funny as heck! The class itself isn't hard; show up, take notes, do the homework. The exams and quizzes are easy too!

Easy A and I took his honors class. Learn the basics of Sociology. Online quizzes. Funny guy who knows his stuff. We had a pizza party for the final--that should sum him up for you.

Dan keeps all of his lectures fun and intriguing. You never feel left behind or bored and subject matter is highly topical. Pay attention, and the class is easy. Not hard to pay attention, he is engaging. He is sympathetic and supportive to all of his students, I took 2 of his classes because I liked him so much.

I have to be honest I ADORE Uncle Dan. I so looked forward to his class that I was sorry I took it in summer because my time with him was up so fast. I enjoyed every minute! When you get a Prof. that not only knows his subject but sets you on fire to learn it you know you have picked a winner. I look for courses that I can take with him. LOVE!

Uncle Dan was the best teacher. His online class was really easy, but you need to put in some work. The extra credit will literally save you, and dropping one test saves you also. If you read the book you will do well on the tests, the test are a lot of points so you want to do well. There are easy assignments also and discussions are easy.

First college class and I took him over summer. Very easy A and he really wants you to do well. Also, he tells a lot of funny stories to keep the lectures interesting. Professor Danielle Vieira was so helpful and interesting to listen to. She provided stories along with the material for criminology, making the class easy to follow while keeping you genuinely interested. She knows so much and is amazing at educating others! We watched 3 movies, all of which were entertaining and educational. Loved her class

Beautiful Human being, great sense of humor and the lessons are light and very informative, honestly one of the best teachers I've had at moorpark, she'll help you if your struggle, but not if you just slack off. Also quite the love for 50s jazz, which was a plus for me.

Professor Vieira's class was one of the best classes I have ever taken. With her amazingly funny and informative anecdotes and great lectures, I could not have hoped for a better teacher. She is an easy grader and is always available to give you help if and when you need it. She was such an amazing teacher I'm taking her M16 class for fun.

Prof. Vieira is an excellent teacher. Her class made me want to change my career plans entirely. I really developed a passion for the field of criminology in her class. I took her criminology class online and the syllabus was very clear about her expectations, but I didn't think it was an easy A. Lots of weekly assignments to keep up on.

I absolutely adore Professor Dani! She is hilarious and is a great story teller. I look forward to her class. She really wants her students to do well. You will do well in this class as long as you pay attention and do the work. Textbook is "required" but I didn't use it at all. Allows a 3x5 notecard on in class exams. Quizzes are done online.

Professor Vieira is great. She's funny and has some interesting lectures. Textbook is online and free (through openstax). Tests are online. Five short essay assignments are graded very generously.

She is very funny and relatable and feels more like a friend than a teacher. Her quizzes and tests are ridiculously easy. If you show up to class and take notes you will be fine!!

Professor Vieira is great! Her tests are based on the lectures which are very well written and are very helpful she also gives a review sheet/study guide for every one of her tests, the class consists of a few short papers and weekly discussions.

By far one of the best professors I've had at moorpark college! She is amazing and gives great feedback! Definitely recommend to get EVERYTHING turned in on time. She does offer extra credit 3 big exams and 3 quizzes. She is super helpful and everything in the exams/quizzes is in the reading.

Let me tell you how to pass this class with an A. First, fill out the study guide she gives you for every exam and quiz. Second, she allows you to have a 3x5 notecard for every test. I typed up the notecard and literally put every single note I took and made it have 5.5 size font. I passed her class with a 94% and never studied.

Professor Vieira is amazing! This was my first honors course, and I really enjoyed it. There are five homework in class assignments (easily graded), gives seven in-class assignments but does not always announce them (if you miss two won't affect you) and three exams all online. NO FINAL and one extra credit 25 paper. Super easy, highly recommend.

Prof Vieira is THE BEST. Her class was very easy to pass. And her lectures were very interesting and entertaining. I loved the class. Youre graded on 5 hw assignments all posted online, 3 timed online exams (you have 1 attempt and an entire weekend take them), and 7 classwork but only 5 are graded incase you miss a day or 2. Very interesting class

I cannot express how much I loved this class. By far my favorite professor. Prof. Vieira is a gem, and her stories helped me remember almost every concept we learned. this class was super interesting and the quizzes were taken over the weekend at home which I loved. We used the textbook a bit, would recommend getting/renting it.

Very nice professor who sends out constant reminders of what is due in the upcoming week which is very nice. The tests are easy and the class is very doable. there are writing assignments due every other week in my eight week online accelerated course. I would take this professor again.

Professor Vieira is a fantastic sociology teacher. She always tells funny stories and has interesting lectures. She assigns little homework and is generous with extra credit, not to mention she provides the textbook for free on Canvas. If you have never taken sociology and are looking for an interesting summer class, take her Intro to Sociology!

First online class I have ever been in and I LOVE IT. Danielle is the best teacher she lays out each assignment with clear instructions. I love the way she structures her online lectures, tests, assignments etc. I will definitely be taking her again!

This class is so easy. I just did all the work and the test is online. EASY A. Don't be fooled that the Sociology Honors class is harder than the regular. They're the exact same class. Honors just looks better on the transcript!

The funniest, caring teacher!! She made lectures so fun to understand. I laughed everyday in this class and would get excited to come. Take notes, study, and you will do fine in this class. All quizzes are online and test in person. She lets you use a notecard for the final. TAKE HER! I learned so much from this class and i really miss this class.

Dani gives good feedback, clearly likes her job, and has good lectures that explain the material better than the book. The only two things I didn't like were: the tests didn't always line up perfectly with the lecture, and getting ahold of Dani was hard at times. Otherwise I highly recommend this professor.

Asynchronous class, but I feel like I got to know her. Class was incredibly easy and decent homework-wise. Lectures were simple and tests extremely reasonable. Worked hard to get me feedback even though we never met. Seems like a lovely person, and has the class laid out perfectly. Really a gem!

One of the easier classes I have taken. Highly recommend, especially the online class. There is very little work so you have to do it all/most if you want an A but she is an easy grader and it is a very easy class. Highly recommended for honors course. 6 discussion posts, 4 written assignments, 3 tests. Do the study guide, do good on tests.

Professor Vieira was great, and I loved taking her class. I didn't use the textbook much, but it could be helpful. Just as long as you watch her short lectures and watch the videos she assigns, you'll probably be able to understand a lot.

Super easy and enjoyable class! There are three exams that are really easy if you read the textbook. She also assigns a couple of discussion posts and short papers, but they are very easy and actually pretty interesting. She gave me full credit on all of my assignments and gave really great feedback. I definitely recommend taking this class!

Super easy class and amazing professor! Her lectures are super interesting. She's really open minded and has a lot of fun stories. Her grading is super easy, its impossible to not get an A. There are random in class assignments that can't be made up, but you can miss two and still get a 100 in the category and extra credit if you do all of them.

Prof Vieira is awesome; I definitely recommend taking her classes. She is funny and makes the class very entertaining. Plus, there isn't much work to do. Just make sure you remember to do the assignments and you're good. You do need to read the textbook, but you don't need to buy one because she is writing one herself. She engages the class well.

Organized Crime and Terrorism. The class was extremely easy and Vieira's video lectures helped so much (extremely clear and connected everything together). The slideshow presentation was fantastic. Vieira had great feedback and was very thoughtful.

This class is fairly easy if you actually attend class, pay attention and take notes. Vieira has great lectures and lots of extra material that helps understand the subject. She helps you with anything you need as long as you reach out to her in time. Just take good notes, participate and pay attention, it is an easy grade :)

I love her. I want her to be my teacher forever. It was an easy class, less work. Ironically I learned more. The way she teaches is priceless. You have to take a class by her once. Her stories are amazing. The way she teaches is how a teacher is supposed to teach. 100/10. I love her to death.

I loved Professor Vieriera's sociology class. It deelfinitley is an easy honors class to take if you need that credit. As long as you pay attention in class you'll do good. Her grading criteria on your papers is super straightforward and easy to understand. Take her class if you can it was great!

Prof Vieira is the best! The class consists of tests and discussion posts which are very simple! She also offers a reasonable amount of extra credit; I did a paper at the end of the class that brought my grade over 100%. The discussion posts are fun and easy and her feedback is the sweetest! Dani is one of the best professors I've ever had; I earned a perfect grade in her class. She tends to also teach by using personal anecdotes, using real world examples to apply concepts you're learning is incredibly helpful. I took SOC M110 with her and I recommend her to everyone. What a phenomenal and funny professor, you'll be in great hands! :)

One of my favorite professors so far!! Makes criminology even more interesting in my eyes as criminal justice major! In class assignments are always fun and easy! She wants students to succeed! There is reading but I found it easy and she wrote her own free textbook!

I really like this class. The lectures are really good and engaging, and you learn a lot from them. Try not to miss class too often as there are participation assignments.

Amazing Professor able to not only communicate, but connect. And, in doing so, actually teaches. Once you take one class from her, you will want to take more. Highly recommended regardless of your major.

Took her 6 week summer course, workload is just weekly discussions and 3 exams. All very doable and she posts reminders when they're do so you have no excuse if you miss them. Seems very kind. The only problem I had was her exam questions, they felt generic and open minded as you can't find a direct answer in the book, but still passable.
