I enjoyed taking Danilo's class. There are 4 essays, reading responses on chapters before every class, a few in class assignments, and a portfolio at end semester. Overall, he really knows his stuff and makes class interesting. I'd definitely recommend people to take his class.

Danilo is an overall great professor. There are writing assignments due almost every class, but it makes sure you're prepared for the topics to discuss in class. The essay topics are very interesting and engaging. This class was very entertaining, but make sure that you speak up in class because participation does count!

I took this professor for writing 1 this fall semester 2016, & it was awesome! loved the class, made great friends & his lectures were enjoyable! If you're looking for a good writing 1 class I would definitely recommend taking it with him! Honestly this class was enjoyable because of the discussions that went on throughout the semester which ultimately helps with the writing process. He also gives good feedback which helps a lot. Also, similar to every writing class be prepared to read! Its very easy to read stuff and its not too long either.

I'm so glad that I got him, probably one of the best professors I've had. He's a really nice grader and if he sees that you did your best, he will give you a good score. He gives A LOT of extra credit. I recommend you do them because they actually help a lot.

He is a cool guy, and his feedback makes my writing skills improve a lot. He also taught me how to think creatively. If you want a happy and fun writing class, he is a good choice.

Nice teacher. Young and relatable and is willing to help. He can be a push over when it comes to due dates, so class is easy to pass if you show up. Must read assigned readings for discussion boards every night but not a lot of homework, no tests, tons of E.C. Very laid back, good sense of humor and classes are easy to interact and participate in.

If class starts at 6, he's already marking who is there and who isn't. If I could I would take him again without a doubt. He gives PLENTY of opportunities for Extra Credit and always feedback on our work to help and improving our writing skills. If he's open take him you won't regret it. BTW be ready for some "Dad jokes" and its ok not to laugh.

Summer 2017. Honestly hands down best teacher ever. Amount of extra credit is insane. Only 3 essays super easy and interesting themes/topics. 10 reading responses from the They say book that are easy and short. Funny and friendly making his lectures actually interesting, just take him!! If I could i would defiantly take him for WR2.

GREAT professor to take Writing 1 with! Very do-able to get a good grade if you participate in discussions, attend all classes and apply his critiques. Fun and relaxed class atmosphere, lots of discussions on really interesting topics. Take him up on his offer to review your essays outside class & you will improve a ton after taking his class!

Professor Caputo is a great teacher. It is such an easy A for a writing class. There is 4 essays in the whole semester and only 14 short reading responses. Overall grading is very simple and to the point. And he offers extra credit. I would recommend him it is such an easy class.

The bad ratings were addressed during the summer course & Professor Caputo immediately changed his quizzes to be open book and also wanted to inform us that his ratings matter to him and that he wishes ratings were to be given at the end of his course which makes sense. This really shows that he cares for his students and wants to make class simple

Professor Caputo is honestly one of the best professors I've had. He's extremely considerate of his students & has a great sense of humor too. I enrolled in his summer class thinking that it's going to be hard. But he made it so easy! His classes have many extra credit opportunities. Absolutely loved the readings and essays! 100000% recommend him!

He gives confidence to students starting to write. They say so hard class but I say they should go back to ESL. I dont believe that they are ready for writing 1. He relates to your reading responses if he finds them interesting so it makes class more fun. In fact, his readings are all interesting.

His class was very enjoyable. Many of the topics you have to write about are easy to immerse yourself onto. He did give a lot of pop quiz but he is willing to work with his students to help them succeed, we just need to ask instead of complaining about it.

Caputo is a nice guy, easy to talk to, keeps things chill and laid back. He requires reading, but you can easily look up. Keeps things simple and straight forward, not a hard grader, works with you, doesn't expect much from assignments and likes to give full credit. Try a bit harder on final draft of paper. Easy to pass with high grade.

Those who said this class was hard maybe because they didn't do their parts. It's not hard as long as you follow his syllabus. Totally 10 quizzes, 15 reading responses, 4 essays. Participation matters! Join writing conference as he advised because it really helps your essay! Quizzes are open book, not hard at all. Just make sure you really read!

A great and caring professor. His writing 2 class uses a recent topic as the main topic for the course. This summer's was climate change. Base on other students and also my experience, he always pick a relevant topic going on in the world which makes his classes engaging. He listens to his students and tries to help, all you have to do is speak up.

Professor Caputo is honestly the best, this is the first time I have received an A in english. He has very interesting books incorporated in the course and he makes it fun! Do your reading, homework, and make an effort on essays (there's 4) and get an easy A! Quizzes are easy if you read. 10/10 would recommend.

I have taken both WR1 and WR2 with Professor Caputo. He is a fantastic professor that cares a lot for his students. The thing I like the most about Professor is that he looks at everyone with love and respect; he treats the students like his friends and provides a relaxed yet positive atmosphere. Please do remember that you always have to try.

I love professor Caputo, I took both his writing 1 and 2 class, he is awesome very understanding , easy A. He gives lots of extra credit, his class can get boring at some point but that is mainly based on writing other than he is very accessible he is very funny. Would definetely recommend.

Took Professor Caputo's WR2 class this semester. It was all online but pretty easy. The first quarter of the class is pretty easy stuff, but you get into huge essays that you need to write for a large percentage of your grade. He is a pretty fair and easy grader so if you put in the effort and know what you're saying you should get a B or A on them

Professor Caputo was by far the best writing instructor I ever had. I took him for wr2 and passed the class with an A. Just follow the prompt and ask him questions about the prompt if you didn't understand it. 3 enjoyable papers, a five minute presentation, and a final portfolio which was the most enjoyable one.

Professor Caputo was by far the most considerate and flexible professor I had worked with. As long as you put in the work and follow the rubric, you will get your desired grade. Also, he is very friendly and will definitely help you out if you ask.

A great choice and an easy grader. He gives examples of what an A grade paper looks liike. Follow hs examples and it's easy to get an A.

Professor Caputo is an amazing, considerate professor. His class is very interesting, I took him for WR2 and it was all about climate change. There is a lot of work, but I took too many classes and had a lot of stuff going on but it should be easier with a regular schedule. I love Caputo but be ready to put in the work! He wants you to succeed.

I loved Prof Caputo's in person class, we wrote 3 papers based on environmental issues. 1 fiction, 2 rhetorical and argumentative using research and evidence writing with multimodal support, an ePortfolio for the final. His directions were clear, I don't think he scored anyone lower than a B, he teaches at UC Irvine as well, take his class!

Tons of extra credit! Super nice guy, but you can tell he wants you to succeed. Many opportunities to edit your paper and is easy on grading. Would take him again. Started the class with a B, by the time we got to the third paper I had an A. Scores generously but makes you want to learn.

If you notice those who gave him a terrible review, they have poor grammar and poor writing, which clearly shows that they never tried or engaged in class, and are just blaming the professor for their personal issues. I took this Professor for the 2022 fall semester, and I've never met a better professor in my life. Very understanding, very helpful

He is one of the few professors on campus I've really enjoyed. He takes time to make sure everyone is not only understanding the work, but is also in a good place mentally. I feel he also did a good job at making sure the class became a close community which helps with comfortability in the class and makes students also want to participate.

Professor Caputo is one of the best professors I've taken at IVC. He's really funny and is a great teacher. He taught me more about writing essays than I've learned in K-12 and my two years of college. He provides lots of office hours and class time dedicated to helping you fix your writing.

Easily the best professor I've had so far. He's very understanding and human, and will push back due dates if the class says they need more time. He gives a lot of time to work on essays and has draft submissions, so I never had to do it all in 1 night. Outside of essays there is not much work besides reading and some discussion posts.

He is super chill !! He will offer you an extension on the assignment if you ask. If you need help with your assignment, after class, during office hours, or before class. He is willing to help. He breaks down WR II works into small sections and not pushing you. Cool and nice professor.

I think Professor Caputo was a very good teacher. He respects students time and often gives extensions when needed. He also has a very laid back submission policy and accepts late essay and HW. His attendance policy might be harsh for some people but I think overall he might be the best english teacher at IVC.

Overall, Professor Caputo really cares about students. He gives a good amount of extensions and helps the students with the writing. Just make sure to go to his class, since he takes attendance within 5 minutes. Highly recommend him for learning and receiving good grades.

Danilo didn't do a lot of writing Essay, he did more of Testing and quizzes in the class, but it wasn't a lot. I'd say it was a good amount. I would take this professor again.

I seriously dreaded taking Writing 1, but taking it w/ Professor Caputo made it easier than I thought and kind of fun. Plus, he's a bro. I read 2 books plus some essays, and I wrote 5 essays which sound like a lot, but the deadlines were very manageable. Just keep up w/ reading & writing some short weekly discussions and you will do great like me.

Great professor! Although there was a lot of reading that you had to keep up with, I really enjoyed his class. He is a great person and his classes are always fun and enjoyable.

first year in cc, I rec. taking his class (Writ1H) coming from the background where I struggle on writing. He gives you extension and through his office hours, he actually is there to help you. I went to one of his office hours, and he extended it as a plan to where to start. By the end of the day, my writing has been improving.

He was an amazing WR1H teacher. Take him for the easy A!! I didn't show up to class for about a month and still managed to earn an A. You are basically guaranteed the A as long as you do all the assignments, he is a very easy grader.

Great guy. Class is very straightforward. Has a PhD. He's willing and able to help. Essays are a big portion of your grade. Just be active in the class and youll for sure get an A.

Professor Caputo is one of the sweetest professors I had. As long as you follow his instructions, turn assignments on time, and do well on essay, you'll recieve an easy A. His class is just pure responsibility and common sense. If you are going through anything, he will be very considerate. I will definitely be taking him for writing 2.

This professor is ok. He's not horrible. The only issue is that he takes a very long time to message and respond back so I recommend that if you want to get into contact with him, in person would be best because it takes a very long time for him to get back to you, but overall, the class is good.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lit20 because the readings were interesting! Caputo is caring, his lectures are thoughtful & insightful, & he values preparedness, participation, & community. As long as you do the readings, engage in class discussions, and do you work on time, you perform well in this class. Though, I wish he'd comment more on our exam papers.

Prof Caputo is amazing! He is so funny, relatable, and caring. As long as you do the readings, engage in discussions, and turn in work on time, you will do good. The only thing I wish he would've done is give more comments, suggestions, or critiques on our papers; he'd just grade them and leave nothing. Readings were manageable; at times, hefty.

Three papers throughout the semester, about one or two quick assignments as week. Caputo is a pretty easy grader (at least compared to my last writing teacher), and i've heard he is very funny and caring as well. Good class to take and I'm sure he would've been great in person as well

I did online classes and was scared to do in person again but this class gave me hope. Professor Caputo is actually the goat and I am so grateful for all the things this class taught me. I would recommend taking any of his classes because as a professor he is caring, funny, and makes class engaging.

I took Prof Caputo online and he is GOATED. Taking his class feels like taking a general ed class with random assignments, but the essays are graded very leniently. Make sure you are still putting in the effort because some students take this for granted and do not end up with the easy A they should have gotten.

He is an amazing teacher, I took his online class but frequently visited his office hours for feedback. Even though English isn't my first language Professor Caputo always tried to explain and read through my errors. The theme of writing essays was decided, yet it was still interesting, and the grading was more than fair.

Great professor lets you leave class early

Professor Caputo is a kind professor that makes the class fun. Every time you are confused about something, he knows how to help out. And doing the homework and assignment actually feels useful and great to do.

I took Professor Caputo for online WR2. The class is set up so there are only 2 - 3 modules you need to complete per week. There were four essays: 3 research papers and 1 reflection paper at the end. Professor Caputo sets up very flexible deadlines (very doable even when you have a heavy courseload imo). He is also an extremely lenient grader.

Never gave me lots of feedback, but he is very lenient on due dates and grading which is very much appreciated. To be honest I don't remember anything else but I've never had any complaints about this class. The book we read and wrote about wasn't completely horrible like they typically are for English classes.

He's an amazing professor! I took him for WR1 (in person) and WR2 (online) and both were great. He loves class participation so be sure to be there and ready to raise your hand during the lecture. He taught me a great foundation for college writing.

I took his Writing 2 class online and it was very doable. Professor Caputo is so nice and caring, and his whole class reflects around the topic of climate change, which is very interesting and eye opener. The work for this class is doable and consisted of 4 papers with some discussions. Great class.

He is one of the best and most memorable professors I've had so far at IVC. He is really passionate about his teaching and encouraged his students to improve. He is extremely understanding and very chill. I have never enjoyed writing, but he definitely made this class much less miserable than it could've been.

TAKE ENGLISH 1 AND 2 WITH HIM!!! He is is the GOAT. His class is really easy as long as you do your assignments and put some effort in your essays. We had 3 essays, the hardest one is 2000 words. we read two books, worked on some small writing assignments, and had one assignment per class. His class is super light. Thank me later!
