He was kinda laid back and willing to laugh at himself and ramble into endless drabbles that once again led to self laughter.

I had Danny for Introduction to Literature. He was a great teacher. Explained well, and threw some humor in as well. I definetly reccomend him.

I recommend this teacher, because he will help you and give you credit for your effort. He is genuinely interested in improving each students writing skills, what ever thier current writing skills are.

you don't learn a whole lot about writing with danny. he talks about the essays you read as if you were in a literature class, not composition.

Teaches the basics of comp with humor and specific instructions on how to do what he wants you to learn. Highly recommend him.

He was a fun teacher. He is not the clearest person in the world. He has a habit of getting of subject, but overall I thought he was a good teacher. His class was easy as long as you did the work.

Always inclined to be as helpful as possible. Likes to touch deep into discussions on all literature. Poetry was our best discussion. IF you like to learn, and enjoy expressing yourself in discussions, then this is the class for you.

Easy class as long as you kept up with your work. Material was dry and boring but it was easy to get your credits.

I would recommend Danny for Creative Writing. If you are interested in writing and keep up with the reading, you will be fine. He workshops all of the work the class turns in in an open format for discussion. He prefers students who attend class and hates it when ppl skip.

Danny is very laid back, but very in tune with what's going on in the world. His comments on essays are very helpful. Remembers his students too! Which is very cool. I would recommend him.

If you're looking for an easy grade, this is the teacher for you, but if you're looking to learn or be challenged, take someone else.

haha, can you say awesome teacher? Danny Alexander is probably THE easier college professor I have ever had. My comp 2 class was easier than my senior year of english! If your really looking for a challange then might look elsewhere, but otherwise, Danny ROCKS!!

He's so nice!I confess that I take this class b/c it's required for my degree,but after I've had him,it motivates me to read and attend the class more.All classes have a big portion for discussion which it's not boring like you just sit still to listen to you prof. The test's quite challenging, but he opens to all ideas that you have! Recommended!

He is a very nice person and a great teacher. So personable and easy going, yet professional and helpful with class assignments. He reads you like a book and it's easy to just connect with him if you put in some effort. He gives great work feedback and is very interested in your success as a student. If writing's your thing, take a creative writing class with Danny. It's open-forum, and Danny does all that he can to engage everyone in the discussion--and NOT be a "pretentious English professor," like so many profs in that position choose to be. And he truly concerns himself with his students' success and how much they're getting out of class.

He's really laid back and relativistic. Just about any answer will do on an essay or a journal. While I don't agree with some of his opinions, I thought he was a very nice guy. Just do the reading and show up to class and you'll have a cake walk "A".

Mr. Alexander is really passionate about his class, topics, and readings. He's a fantastic teacher, really easy going and laid back. He enjoys students who are passionate, shows up to class, does the readings, and participates in group activities. A great teacher to have!

Professor Alexander is a very kind teacher. You write about 4 essays in the semester and that is your grade -along with some (not a lot) in class assignments and the final. He is a great teacher, but students didn't speak up in class. It bugs him when students don't speak - so speak up and participate! He will happy and love you if you participate!

Danny is one of the best teacher out there! He cares about his student and also cares about their grade. He wants his student to do good and also enjoy his class. 4 papers in one semester, no test, no hw. Easy A class with a great professor!!

I ADORE him, he has a passion for writting and it shows.

We only have 5 essays this year. One essay was being able to redo or edit an essay that you may have done poorly on. He doesn't grade very hard. I got A's all on my papers. I recommend taking him for any Comp class!

Danny is the Best English I have ever had! He makes sure you know how to write a paper and makes class fun. I wish he taught more classes at jccc!

DANNY IS AWESOME! He's extremely helpful, and understanding. Very easy on lecture and tests. Let's you make up for lost point if you have a legitimate reason for missing out on any assignments. Just show up to class and have fun!

I've taken Comp 1 & 2 with Alexander, his very easy. English is my second language so i struggle a lot, and Danny made it easy for me. His very good professor, turn in the papers on time and you will get an A.

Loved his class! he is super funny and gives you the best feed back to make your papers better. His class is really based on participation.

Easy class to get an A in as long as you show up and do the papers. He pretty much just has you go over each other's papers in class. Never really uses the textbooks, heck, we never read or discussed the required reading novel at all. Only downside is he cusses a lot in class (drops the F-Bomb almost daily) for a writing for professor.

There's not enough room to explain my grade. I do not comprehend well at times and he was always able to rephrase and give an example differently so I could. He was very helpful and understanding. You can tell he loves what he does and wants students to be excited and succeed as well. I am sad my schedule does not fit his for COMP II.

I took Intro to Fiction the semester before online and the teacher was literally the worst. I learned nothing. Taking it again this semester I honestly had a way better learning experience. The class may be 3 hrs long but what you take away from the class is so much more understanding than you originally had. I am definitely taking him again.

Basically, most of the grades in his classes -- I've taken him for Comp I and II -- are based on attendance. If you're there, you get points for it. The papers are graded harder in Comp II than in Comp I. You can always turn in the paper early for him to read and tell you what he thinks you need to work on. He likes class participation.

I really liked Danny. He always explained questions thoroughly & simply. He gives daily attendance points and gives out random worksheets somedays, so make sure you show up to class. The worksheets are easy and you will get an A if you show up and fill them out. No tests all semester and only 3 papers that weren't difficult. I would take him again.

Professor Alexander is simply one of the nicest guys out there. He seem to care more about the quality of the papers student writes instead of quantity. Most of his lectures are about tools and strategy of writing the next paper. Basically showing students the many ways and the criteria needed to write the best paper.

Danny is seriously one of the nicest professors I've ever had. He really cares for you which means so much. I'm taking Comp 2 from him as well just because he is so awesome. It means so much when a teacher is actually there for you and cares a lot. Definitely take a class from him!!!!!

Danny was a great English teacher, for me. He has a propensity to rabbit-trail, but that also forced me to be more creative and take bigger risks in my writing. Easy-going, friendly, appreciates participation and good, solid writing. He's very helpful with editing & feedback on papers. I took him over the summer and enjoyed every minute!

Awesome professor! You can tell he enjoys teaching which makes the class much more enjoyable. I wasn't looking forward to comp 2 but I enjoyed Danny's class. We had to write 5 papers and he was always helpful with each assignment. Some people are born to teach, Danny is one of those people.

An amazing professor! I'm taking him for Comp 1 and I signed up to take him for Comp 2. There are four essays and he gives you plenty of time to do them and he will even look over and edit your rough drafts if you give it to him. He's overall nice and really cares about his students.

Danny is an amazing instructor and teaches in a way that brings out my inner writer. He encourages his students and gives you so much autonomy over your work. Accessible outside of class and cares about each and every one of his students. Students in my class who were dreading comp loved his class.

Although a bit awkward at times, Professor Alexander is overall great. His grading on papers is a litttle tough, but not bad if you meet all the requirements. Participation is huge in this class, seeing as how he will get very agitated if no one talks. Attendance is important since he gives in class assignments. Overall an easy A if you do the work

This is the best professor you will ever have in your entire life. He treats and talks to you like you guys are people and he's your friend. he is willing to work with you and cares a lot about everyone. he is VERY understandable. he is an amazing teacher. You will learn a lot about yourself. I am enrolling in his comp 2 class. PLEASE TAKE HIM!!!!

Great professor. Very clear on his assignments, just make sure you attend his class and ask questions. Danny is always willing to help and answer any questions you have. You will be doing some group studying but it will give you chance to make new friends and finish some tasks faster. Danny is very caring and has great sense of humor.

An interesting and special course. Using American pop music to understand human nature, inner emotions, and social development. This way of teaching, listening, and discussing together in class makes you thought-opening, and it's very enjoyable. Amazing professor and his unique class.

Professor Alexander is very chill and wants you to call him Danny. He gives very good feedback and is always willing to talk about whatever you need. If you have any questions, ask him! Danny is a fantastic professor and person. If you're older than the average student (even by only a few years), I expect you'll also have a high opinion of his lecture style. Take your papers seriously and try to choose topics you can be somewhat passionate about. CITE YOUR SOURCES, it's college. Engage with others during group activities.

Amazing instructor--I was stuck in a music "rut" and his thought provoking assignments allowed me to find other artists to appreciate. Lots of discussion board postings helped the online class feel more like an in-person one, and I appreciated this aspect. Overall, I would recommend this course!

This is the second course I have taken with Professor Danny, he is beyond amazing and is so caring. I was getting swamped with everything in my life and he gave me extended deadlines for my essays, no questions asked. He provided good feedback and genuinely cared about every student. Had comp1&2 with Danny, one online and the other in-class. His teaching is very unique(you don't have to just sit and take notes) and wants students to participate during lectures. He gives you the freedom to choose your own subjects and gives plenty of time to make your essays good. Overall he gives good feedback and grades very fair. Enjoyed it!

I absolutely recommend Danny. I would take him 100 times over if I could. Not only was he informative, but very down to earth and just an overall caring individual who cares about his students. I sooooo wish he did Comp2 :(
