Brown was a really fun instucter, especially since he is a Stand UP comic. He made learning old philosophy really interesting with all of his witty jokes and knowlegde of the topic.

this guy is funny and the class is very interesting but it aint some cake walk. the $90 book i had to buy was hardly used at all through out the course. all you really need to do is take notes or download them from blackboard.com, and study them good, not just a glance.

Finally a teacher who is fun AND a great teacher!! Everyone looks for a professor like this one but rarely gets one. He makes taking a philosophy course worthwhile.

Best professor of my college career. He made Philosophy interesting. The class is very easy to do well in, but you will learn more in his class than you do in any of your other classes. If you attend class and spend 5 minutes studying you will get an A. Tests are all multiple choice, one paper due, but only two pages long. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

He's a good teacher, he's really funny, keeps class interested. Exams are very simple, show up the class prior to the exam for the review and you're set. I had to 60s on my exams and I still recieved a B. There is one Term Paper, it's fairly easy. He's not hard on attendance, but I suggest going just because he's fun.

Really good teacher. the way he teaches religous views is he just opens your mind, but he relates to you, idk. Hes kind of a goofball but he puts all his powerpoints on BB so if u miss a class no biggie, you write 3 papers just about your thoughts, full credit for just completing them. gives test questions class before the test. This professor is the most fun and outrageous teacher I have ever had at San Jac. He says whatever is on his mind. No textbook use. All notes are on blackboard and attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended because his class is like attending a comedy act. He gets his message across but this class is NOT for the easily offended.

This online PHIL 1301 class is fairly easy. You will be using your book, you need to READ the chapters and not just skim them. There are discussion board questions so make sure you write a paragraph not just 1 sentence. The exams are timed but Mr. Brown gives you plenty of time and curves exams if needed. Recommend this class to you!

I took phil online. It's not too bad but ALOT of reading, and if you dont read you wont do well. Some of his tests were really easy and some were tricky.I never met Mr. Brown but he seemed like a nice guy, and always responded to email if we had any concerns. I got an A. If your willing to work hard you can get an A too.

Took this as an online class. I have taken many online courses before, but never taken one where there is absolutely no instruction given on the subject matter. Took into to Ethics. EASY EASY A, just go to class at least 70% of time. His reviews are strait from test so as long as you attend, ur guaranteed an A. Requires 3 one page essays which as long as you meet requirements, he gives you full credit. That's it...no book needeed, no note taking necessary. B prepared to question your religious beliefs.

Got a C in the course. Professor Brown took his time in trying to explain everything to me. But the concepts are not easy. Loved the teacher, wasn't an easy A like everyone said.

If you can make students laugh while they learn, then you've got a gift. He knows his philosophy. He does a review game of the test before the test day, so just pay attention, he's cool.

I've taken him for two philosophy classes and just love him. He's hilarious and informative. The class is pretty much just one big discussion, read the notes he puts on BB and thats all you need. His online class is not as bad as everyone says it is. All you have to do is read. Theres only 25 questions per test with 50 mins to do them. Honestly, you could just look up things in the glossary and find the answers to the exam. Philosophy is an interesting subject, it's not a bad thing that you have to read/skim the book.

TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE WITH THIS PROFESSOR! He opens all tests and discussion boards at the start of the semester - you could complete the semester in a few weeks if you wish. Each test covers one chapter (And these chapters can be lengthy) but if you really read the chapter, you will make an A on each test.

He teaches the concepts and does not force you to choose sides, especially when we discussed about controversial topics like the existence of God. Lectures were long, but he made sure it was interesting!

I must admit I was sort of worried about taking this course online knowing that it can be a difficult subject, but I passed with a B+. Textbook is mandatory and if you need help, Prof. Brown answers his emails usually within 24 hrs. Just read and study ( do not read chapters THE DAY OF a test).

I have heard Professor Brown is great, but since I took him online, I have no clue. If you take PHIL1301 then prepare yourself because the class in general is hard. I feel I would have better understood in person. If you take PHIL with Brown, I suggest do it in person and get the book. You will need it. His tests are pretty tricky.

I took him for Ethics because I just needed a Philosophy class to get a Business Degree. He is SUPER EASY! In my Ethics class he would show all the test questions and answers on the board. Memorize all the answers and those exact questions will be on the test word from word. There is 4 test and a paper, that's it.

I took him online for Philosophy and he is the easiest professor I've ever had! From day one he posts your assignments due for the whole semester and he gives you more than plenty of time to do them. His online exams are cake!

Professor Brown is awesome. Criteria for the class is extremely clear; read, take the tests, do the DB's. There's alot of reading, but it's super interesting. I highly recommend this professor!

Assignments include: 4 tests - 80% total (non accumulative); 1 common assignment - 15% (min. of 3 pgs.); attendance - 5%. The 4th test is the final. He gives in class reviews prior to the test. As long as you look over his notes he provides on blackboard for the chapters to be covered on the test, you'll pass w/ flying rainbows :)

I took your class during my 1st year in 2008. Your lectures were very inspiring and opened doors in my mind of new perspectives. You taught me how to think, instead of what to remember for the test. When I became an English teacher for 3 years in 2014, I often recall to the days sitting in your class. You are my role model of how to be a teacher.

Great online class. Very organized, clear expectations. Short test over each chapter and 4 discussion boards. Worst part of course is the amount of reading; the chapters are very long but the work itself is pretty easy. Professor rated 4/5 - only reason it's not 5/5 is because he didn't communicate with the class other than the 1st announcement.

As long as you showed up and listened you could easily pass the tests. There was no homework, and no book. Attendance is mandatory. You can only miss two days.

HE WAS AMAZING! I just finished my 3 week mini today and made an A on his final exam. If you do not purchase the text book you will not pass his class, he was great! his grading criteria was pretty easy :) DO NOT TAKE ANYONE ELSE BUT HIM! YOU WILL PASS HIS CLASS! you will have 6 exams and 4 discussion boards! all easy :) take his minis!

3Wk mini online. Textbook is a must, but can be found online for free (PDF). 4 DB's (Super easy). 6 20 question 50 min Tests, must read 2 long chapters a week. The tests are somewhat difficult, but you can find the answers in the textbook within the time frame if you use ctrl-f. I didnt read the book and made and A lol... Very strict on deadlines.

He's freaking hilarious with tons of jokes. Even though I am not majoring in philosophy, this guy hooks me up every class. So far one the of the best professors that I have had.

Easy to pass this class if you do read textbook and powerpoint. If you are like me who uses google for test, id recommend to you to select different professor. You can find 50%of test online or in powerpoint and rest 50% from textbook. I made a B in this class. This course has 8 quiz, 8 discussion board and one paper. you get enough time to finish

He's extremely funny and passionate about what he does. He makes you want to be there and it's recommended you do be there because every thing he talks about is important. He interacts with you and will have in depth conversations to make sure you understand the material. There's only about 4 tests and there's a review pp the class before the test.

Very funny! Definitely recommend taking his class on campus. No textbook required. All the info you need is in his chapter outlines on Blackboard. He does jeopardy games the class before a test to review what info will be on the test. Make sure you show up on those days, pay attention and its an easy A!

Prof. Brown is great for the test he'll go over the EXACT SAME TEST in a game like jeopardy and next class period you'll take the test. So, pay attention to review day and you'll make an A. Also, he is really funny would take him again.

Mr. Brown is a good professor I do recommend taking him and his class. He makes the class funny and relates it to everything in life. Mr. Brown is understanding and very nice when it comes to due dates. However, he does not accept late work. He is a very reasonable guy and will help you in any way possible to help you understand the material.

Professor Brown was great for my 5 week mini. I was scared because it is philosophy but, this was a breeze. The grade on my end could have been way better but, of course, I procrastinated on the reading. I would defiantly take him again for my other online classes!! :)

There are only 4 exams. He will post PowerPoint will audio ( he read the powerpoint and explain it to you). Db is only used if you have any questions. If you go over all of the PowerPoint and note down what is important you will pass. He will post a review for every test and make sure u USE IT. If you use the review and note everything down, easy A

I took this class online during COVID, 2 discussion boards, 2 Exams per month! Its so easily spaced out that you dont feel overwhelmed. Most of the answers are on quizlet. Note: 1 research paper, easy A

I took his 3wk mini and it was a lot of work but definitely doable. You need the textbook (I found it online). He responds to emails.

It's an easy A type of class with Professor Brown. He only has three tests for the whole semester and one paper. He has all the PowerPoint that he uses for his lectures online, but I recommend printing those instead of wrong notes. Professor Brown has a dark sense of humor and tells the type of jokes that you can't help but laugh to.

Professor brown is so funny and chill. He is very laid back but does want you to pay attention to the lectures and does not like phones to be used. He is an easy grader. He loves when the class engages. I barely paid attention and I got a B+, which is good enough for me lol.

Professor Brown is easily one of the best professors I have had. Always made class very interesting and engaging, made philosophy fun to learn.

He's amazing at making you WANT to learn about philosophy/ethics by engaging us during lectures and stimulating discussion. Has an immaculate sense of humor. Despite the laidback nature of the class, I've learned more than I ever have from any other teacher/professor I had before him. Because of him, I am now taking PHIL 1301 and have no regrets.

Very great lectures, he was always joking, so it made the class fun. All you have to do is follow along and review slides so you can pass all the test.

He is awesome! He wants you to succeed! His jeopardy review game is fantastic! Nothing terrible about this professor; take him! Won't regret it! He is also wildly engaging and makes lectures interesting!

100 points in the class, 4 tests at 20 points each, a common assignment at 15, and attendance at 5 points. He is very engaging in class, his jokes are a little dark sometimes but the whole class laughs. But he is never disrespectful. When its review day, he reviews the literal test. Plays it as a jeopardy game with the class. Take him.

All he grades are tests and the one paper, but he is very very funny. He will keep you engaged the entire class, and will hold a conversation with you the entire class. He was wonderful.

Professor Brown is a great professor. This class would have been very dull if I had a different professor. Professor Brown is a former comedian & would make funny jokes throughout each lecture. He doesn't assign homework. He goes over power points in class & posts them all in BB. Test reviews are done in a jeopardy style & are super helpful. 10/10

There are four exams and one test - all of which are SUPER easy! The rest of the class is an amazing comedy special that works surprisingly well as a lecture.

4 tests, 1 paper, and a whole lot of great lectures. Someone mentioned it being a comedy show that works well as a lecture... that's exactly how it is. I got a B without studying for a single exam. His class and teaching style makes you think more deeply and critically, but he's so funny that it makes it so easy to retain the information. LOVED it!

Professor Brown was the best professor I've ever had. I left his ethics class having so much knowledge, I will for sure take his Philosophy class (I don't even need to take Philosophy ). The lectures were very captivating, and intriguing, and so helpful for exams. He breaks down the complex information into a simple way.

This class was great; it didn't add stress despite my five-course load. With 8 tests, 5 discussions, 1 quiz, and 1 essay, it was well-organized. I completed everything by early November, open assignments and evenly spread work made it a seamless experience.

He was one of the best professors I've ever had. He is hilarious during class and makes the lecture extremely interesting. There isn't much work so study for exams and he takes attendance at beginning of class.

I took Professor Danny last semester and was so thankful I did. He was very easy going and the test reviews were exactly what was on the test. I highly recommend taking his class!

I unfortunately failed this class because of lack of consistency and working a full time job in the process. This professor is very funny when it comes to his lectures. He doesn't to make his own reviews so he uses the test questions during the review game. DO NOT CHEAT. He only has 4 exams and a paper requirement, so be smart about it and review.

such a funny professor at times but lectures can be boring. exam review is jeopardy game with questions and answers from the actual exam but not allowed to take notes or have devices out so you have to try your best to remember when time comes. no need to study if you pay attention. group project on controversial topics and their morality. EASY A!

Class consists of 3 tests, each with a jeopardy game review, as well as a signature assignment. The final thing is a group project, not hard at all. Professor is amazing and hilarious, take this class!

Prof Brown is funny he cracks jokes every now and then during lecture. You will have 3 exams, 1 paper, and 1 group presentation. The class before exams, he has jeapordy games that are questions that will be exactly on the test, but does not let you record or use notes. He checks for AI on paper also on presentations so DON'T use it!

took the class as a summer mini course, and received a 97 as my final grade! take it online if u can!!

Not much to say, but an easy class, like 8 assignments you need to do, that's it for an 8-week class. No extra credit, and he doesn't really post any announcements; he's chill.
