I wasn't sure what to expect for a summer class, but this Professor made it great. Professor Cowan is a great instructor that keeps it as fun as it can be by not overdoing it on information. Test are from the homework so if you do your homework you will do fine !!!

Easily one of the best teachers I've had in a loooong time. Keeps things very easy going and interesting, and has not only an incredible knowledge of math, but is also great at communicating concepts to the students. The only people who should have a hard time in his class are those who need to take off their shoes to count to twenty.

This teacher is great. He is very helpfull and makes sure that everyone understands and will not move on until he thinks everyone gets it. Take him if possible.

He took the time to explain things when they didn't click. would go over any homework problems there were questions on in the first 20 to 30 mins of class each day. If you still didn't get it he would stay after class to help you. and told you 2 days in advance if he was going to take anything for a grade.

I had him for statistics this summer. He was great. Made 100's on all my homework & he drops a test score. Could not understand the book at all. He explained things until you understood every piece. Also lets you use parts of the book for the exam.

Loved his teaching method, lots of just boardwork examples, if you dont pick up math easily then you need to go to class! he is very helpful and does explain concepts well! he has the best HW policy ever! light workload and i still learned everything i needed to! im definitely taking him for the rest of my math courses!

If you dont understand math (which is almost everyone), take his course. Took him for remedial and made things clear for once. Examples on white board are from homework problems so everything ties in perfectly. Goes slow and steady so understanding is ACTUALLY achieved. He is nice and is willing to help anyone who doesnt understand. Great Teacher!

Excellent teacher! He is always clear in explaining how to do problems, and goes out of his way to make sure everyone gets it. Tests are taken on your own time outside of class which is kind of a downer, but they're pretty easy. He tutors on campus a few days a week for extra help. He really genuinely cares about his students and he's pretty funny!

He is really one of the best math teachers. I am good at math, but this year I transferred to another school in Abilene, and he offered to help me with my cal hw. Even when I was not in his class he was helpful. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed in life.

I took Mr Cowan for Online Statistics. I AM NOT a math geek by anymeans, and I highly recommend his online class. He is available in the tutoring lab, office hours. He wants you to do well and if you interact with him, he will go out of his way to help you! I Strongly recommend him

Took his online statistics course. Not the easiest subject to take online. You have to do online homework for every lesson. I am not very good at math but I barely made an A. He drops your lowest test/quiz/homework grades. He is not very good at responding back to emails though.

I took him for math of business anaysis in the summer and I thought he was very helpful and patient. He doesn't explain things too fast or too slow. I liked that he took a little bit of time to go over some questions from the homework. I consider him to be the best math teacher I've had so far.

Had Cowan for stats. His tests and quizzes are based off the homework that were assigned, and the notes that taken in class. Honestly THE BEST math teacher I've ever had, and I'm terrible at math.

He is very helpful and patient, you can ask him any question and he will teach you in any shape or form you need to understand a problem. I have had 2 other math teachers and none of them can even come close to him. I highly enjoyed his class and would recommend it to anyone!

As long as you are able to solve problem 1 + 1 = ? you will get an A++ in this class. He never tricks you, always goes to the basic. Very easy tests. Drop many low scores. Even though you skip 2 (in four) tests, you'll still possibly get an A. Take him. Never regret.

Cowan will always help you with any questions you have. I had him on campus and he was always willing to go over things, let us know when homework was due and wanted to make sure we understood the material. I would take him again. He is funny and tries to make class enjoyable.

Professor Cowan is an excellent teacher who explains the concepts clearly and always answers questions without making you feel dumb. He adds little things to make the class funny and interesting which helps for a math class. I have a high A in the class and it has not been to difficult to understand. I would take him again in a heartbeat!

Best & easiest teacher ever! I'm great at math so I already knew everything so it seemed boring but he's great at explaining step by step. Book is a must! Tests are on paper & taken in the MathLab. You can take test late & hw isn't taken up unless he tells you the day before that it is, which is hardly ever. He's so laid back.

Old school uses paper and pencil, works problems on overhead and fully explains. I will take him next semester. highly recommend

Marvelous professor. I have always struggled with math, and I can honestly say that he made it make sense! I had previously made a D in my math class and felt like I was doomed for anything else, however, I took his class and managed to make a high B! He cares about his students and explains thing's well. His test are tricky but easy if you study.

He is super lax and a great teacher. I absolutely hate algebra and have a hard time always understanding it but he explains it very well. He gives a review for the test, homework is usually never mandatory, he tells you when he's gonna actually take it up for a grade. Very nice man, you will still learn but it's a pretty laid back class

He is very helpful, always willing to work out problems with you or answer any questions you have. He will dumb it down for you if you don't understand it. Hardly takes up hw for a grade. Tests make up a majority of your grade. Take this class if you need an algebra class! He'll help you learn! And it is a very lax class environement.

He is about the best professor that you could ask for in a calculus class. He doesn't move on until everyone has a grasp on what he is talking about. When grading tests he gives you credit if you show that you know the process even if you make a simple mistake on a number and also is content if you do the calculus but don't simplify with algebra.

I have taken him for 1324 and 1325, and you get what you put into it. Many people not doing their homework, thats their problem, not his. Great teacher, since i hold a masters degree myself, i have seen a lot of bad teachers along the way. For those who think he is a bad teacher, they havn't seen anything yet. I have more interest in Calculus now.

I math (made a D in algebra!), but I took his course over the summer and I can honestly say he is one of the best professors there is. He basically tells you what's going to be on the exams (by doing the in class problems ) so pay attention. He uses a projector to show how to solve the problems and that helped as well. I would HIGHLY recommend him

I am HORRIBLE in math, all kinds! I took him for College Algebra and was terrified the first day because I knew nothing. He explains anything you might not understand. He assigns homework everyday, do the homework and you should pass! I did spend a lot of time in the tutoring center and they helped me out a lot too!! You have to try!

It is a math class so there is some difficulty there but I took him in the summer so everything was condensed. He is very clear and helpful. Will always as if anyone has questions about what he has gone over before continuing on. Will always ask if we had any questions about the homework. Really Helpful!

I have always struggled in math courses. Professor Cowan was sure to only teach what was important to know for the tests. He would make reviews and answer keys for each test which where a godsend. At the end of the semester I needed help getting my B average to an A, and he helped me achieve that. I would recommend everyone have him.

This was my first Algebra class I passed with an A! Professor Cowan did a great job teaching this subject. Face it... It's calculus. He uploads lecture notes that make paying attention in class much easier. Also, he drops some grades which is a huge help if you have struggled in one section more than another. Thanks Mr. Cowan for a great class. Very patient and willing to help.

It's easy as long as your willing to study on your own, because during class he is monotone and hard to pay attention to- he doesn't make it interesting. However, he is a very nice professor and you can ask him any necessary questions during class or in his office.

If you're awful at math like me, take him. There are four test in total, including final. 25 or so questions, all multiple choice. Maybe 3 homework assignments that he takes for a grade, no more than 5 questions each. Like to tell jokes and he's really friendly. The textbook is used for homework

He is a great professor. Business Cal is a hard class as is. So you need to show up to do well. His test questions are from the book, rather it's from the homework or the even questions. You will need to study unless math just comes natural to you. If you have to take Business Cal, take him.

Took for both Algebra and Statistics. Only tales up a few homework grades and you don't have to get them right as long as you tried. There are 4 tests and a final, he drops the lowest grade. Tests are staight of the review, some numbers may change. He changes the numbers drastically for the final so you have to know how to do the problems by then

i am the worst as it gets in math. Took him for calculis I, showed up in class everyday and i made a B. tha's enough for what i needed. Pretty much show up in class, participate and you get free point, even the seating chart gives you points. great person.

Professor Cowan is friendly and he will always help when asked. He gives a review that's the same or very similar to the test, and homework grades are participation grades. Lectures are clear cut, he explains everything until you get it.

Just go to class and write down what he goes over. That's exactly what he's going to put on the test. Mine was cal 1. This is the easiest cal professor ever. Points are given like it's nothing. You regret taking him. He understands the struggle of students. Atleast it's a guaranteed B. Explain to him your goals for the class and you will get your A

I cannot say enough good about Professor Cowan! I was dreading Business Calc and passed easily. Calc is dry--get over it and attend class bc his exams are based on his lectures. Plus, he simplifies what's in the bk and is very patient. Roll with any changes to the syllabus, bc they're all in your favor.

Prof Cowan is AMAZING. He's the grandpa you've always wanted and is very patient with students. Business Math is basically College Algb again and he makes is very simple, willing to help everyone. VERY generous with extra points. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Mr. Cowan is the BEST math instructor at TCC. Ask questions and he'll go over everything until the class understands. And if you still have questions he'll stick around afterwards to go over it with you again. Very patient & caring. Gives great reviews and let's you use a graphing calculator for exams. I'm taking him again for stats.

He is very respected, approachable and very good at what he does. He has worked with me throughout the semester. I'll be taking him for statistics. He truly is the best!

Professor Danny is a very nice math teacher. I passed with an A and definitely recommend taking his class if you need a math course and are looking for a more forgiving professor. He normalizes the tests grades, so he gives your grade some help, and he has jokes. Hes a very nice guy and attendance is not mandatory at all, he never drops students.

VERY VERY good teacher, i failed pre cal and dropped cal, but when i did them both with him i passed both with B, i could have passed calc 1325 with an A but i did slack off towards the last 2 tests. all u gotta do is pay attention in class, i did both 1324 and 1325 in the summer with him at a very fast paste, it wasnt bad, he gives test reviews.

Took him online. Very helpful, responsive to emails and is willing to make test deadline exceptions if you have personal conflicts and communicate early & respectfully. Tests are hard. Homework & quizzes have multiple attempts and theyre left open for grade improvement. Would take him again.

Mr. Cowan literally helped me through this math course with his lectures and eagerness to make sure the class understood the lecture, the tests were tough but he provides a test review on blackboard which is exactly the same as the test, the quizzes are very helpful towards the test as well, third time taking this class and he was worth it

Great professor!!! Ive been out of school for 12 years. I passed his class with an A. Even though he does not grade most the homework assignments I recommend doing them, it will help keep your memory fresh on what was taught in class. If you are not sure about something he is happy to explain. I have registered to take his 1325 class next semester.
