He's a great guy, and tries very hard to be involved with his classes-even online ones. Some of the assignments take a while, so it's not like you can just pass the class without putting any effort in. That being said, it's not too difficult and Daniel does his best to help you connect with the material, even if politics aren't really your thing.
Good Professor over all just do your work and you'll be good!
Took this class in 4 weeks & had a blast! Professor Gonzalez is hilarious and has a great personality. However, s SO MUCH READING! 3 chapters a week & the chapters are really long. There isn't a study guide & the 10 question practice test for each chapter doesn't help on the actual exam. The exams are really hard, so take super good notes.
I enjoyed learning about politics! I appreciated the multiple discussions that you had available. I wish I had taken this class during a normal semester span, rather than a winter course, I would I have participated more. (I would go in to read discussions and responses!)
Took PSC101 online smashed into a one month program. Lots of reading. Never read so much in such a short time. For a 101 class I expected less. Be ready to read. His online presence via emails and discussions online is nice and entertaining. Seems like he would be very open to contacting if you had any issues.
Great instructor. Keeps students up to date. He wants student to participate as much as possible. Grading criteria is clear, so students know what is expected on the assignments. I would take this class with this instructor again.
There are 4 main assignments called BBDs. Theyre easy so long as you read the textbook and give yourself enough time to do it. Follow his citation directions, and youll get an A. There are 4 tests too, pretty easy if you study under the modules tab. Theres a chance for extra credit, though I forgot to do it. Overall, I learned quite a bit
Professor Gonzales was amazing! There was a good amount of work, only about 20 assignments for the 5 week course. 10/10 would take him again.
Such an amazing professor, his passion for his teaching makes his class so much more enjoyable. I took the five week winter course which was not going to lie pretty stressful but Professor Gonzales made it so organized and well managed which relieved a lot of stress from my shoulders. If you put in the effort you will succeed in this class.
Since it was a condensed course it was very hard to keep up with the reading. The bonus should not be a day apart from a BBD. it was hard and not many could do it because of such short time.
I really enjoyed this class but mainly due to Professor Gonzales and his fun personality. He sent us almost daily emails about reminders as well as awesome nerdy comments, mainly due to me also being a nerd. the work was hard for me in the beginning then I got used to it so it got easier, really loved this class.
Danny is very funny and helpful, his assignments make you use your brain.
This professor makes you work for your grade. If you are going to pass this class, you have to read the text! All the discussions require multiple citations. The professor gives a lot of fun facts and news articles for the course. If you want to dive deep into the depths of this course, keep an eye on the announcements. Overall easy fun class
While he does communicate with his students by posts he lacks when it comes to engaging students into his work. His support for the class is lecture notes a power point and your textbook. He doesn't give any audio/video lectures. If you are a person who is really into PSC and independent this class is perfect. Otherwise I wouldn't waste my time.
Danny Gonzales is organized and does well at connecting his assignments with the textbooks. You have to read the texts enough to where you comprehend the main ideas, but not to the point that it becomes too much to handle. Most of the videos you have to watch for the BBD assignments are intriguing, though some can be kind of boring. Great class.
The professor is quite frankly the best I've had. His class is made so that the material is not necessarikt difficult, but you most definitely must put forth effort to get a good grade. There is a lot of reading involved. The exams are worth the most and are full of references to the text. Speaking of references to the text. Get ready for BBD's!
Professor Gonzales is really good about communicating with students, even in an online setting. There is a lot of reading and a couple videos you have to watch, so you have to really budget your time, and you need to participate in the discussions for credit.
Dr. Danny Gonzales gives good feedback and really relates his interests or interests of the students to the criteria he's teaching. I enjoy his class because it's challenging and it's crucial that you read the material . Which is difficult because they're so long, but I don't mind too much.
Really good Professor. Cares a lot. Super cool and funny. The discussions boards killed me and I dreaded it. But I am probably just lazy. Thank you for being an awesome professor!
The exams are 60 questions and the discussions are long aswell
The 30 points for the exams should be 20 points and the remaining 10 points should go to the war room discussion to encourage students to participate more in the war room. Most of the exams questions are very challenging!!!
Good Teacher, lots of Star wars and studying, and lots of reading.... Made it interesting....
This instructor made it clear what was expected from day one. He used a good grading system, and gave plenty of time for work to get done. The use of discussions, videos and pictures kept the class interesting.
Very straight forward, fast paced class. Ready to write also. Easy if you put aside 2 or 3 hours for your BBD that includes videos.
The class was kind of hard, but he was a great professor. Exams are hard but class entertaining. He try his best to keep the material and learning environment entertaining and interesting. I would strongly recommend this instructor to any student.
A tad more specific when giving feedback would help out. Rather then just saying whats wrong maybe explain it for the ones who cannot understand. "fully develop". other then that great.
I really enjoyed the class and the professor graded very fairly. Class is the usual type of class, buy a book, do your work, and study hard for the test.
Super hilarious guy! Really enjoyed taking his class! You must turn in your assignments in on time or you won't pass. He only gives out little homework and quizzes so its really not hard to pass his class.
The BBD require A LOT of time and effort, but it is hard when you are a full time student and a full time worker.
Textbook is required for this class. It is not hard at all as long as you do the assignments on time and make an effort. There is one assignment a week but they are lengthy, if you manage time and show effort you will get a definite A.
One difficult aspect of the class would have to be the exams. This can possibly be solved by an additional half hour of test time.
I really enjoyed your classes and appreciate you.
The 8-week course we covered two chapters a week. Switching between a 750-word discussion post and a 60 question test. If you do the reading you'll pass but there's a lot of it. I like the way it's taught but sometime's it's a little overwhelming. I enjoyed Danny because he continuously interacted through announcements & discussion post comments .
This class only has lecture notes and power points. There are documentaries that you watch for the class, but I feel that it really needs lectures. If you are an audio-visual learner, this wouldn't be the class for you. But I do enjoy the professor.
This class was great. I liked how current events were tied in to the course work.
Professor Gonzales is honestly phenomenal! He is hilarious and puts in a lot of input for his students! Although I am not the best at politics, he was very efficient in his feedback. There is a lot of reading but nothing that isnt manageable if you space it out!
He is a great professor and is amazing on getting back to students. While he is a tough professor his classes are worth it just make sure to read the text book.
I enjoyed this class a lot. There are discussion posts every week and an easy test after discussions. If you participate and do the assignments you are for sure to get an A. Make sure you read directions carefully. Professor is funny and very kind.
This professor gives great feedback on your assignments to help you improve your next assignment. He also makes sure grading criteria is very clear in the syllabus. Reading the chapters is a must because he requires you to cite the texts book 3-4 times in your discussion responses. He also gives opportunity for extra credit and tutoring info.
PSC 101 isn't a hard class, you just have to put the work into it. Professor Gonzales is very clear on his grading criteria for discussion posts and provides outlines as well as presentations to help with the tests. He is very helpful!
I enjoyed the class, learned a lot
Awesome professor!
Dr. Gonzales is a good professor. He's humorous and he takes the time to answer any and all questions asked by the class.
Coool
Exams are kinda hard but with the book you should be all set.
Dr. Gonzales was fantastic. I wish i had been able to take the class in person rather than online. i would love to have met him. He is funny and keeps things very interesting. i will recommend him to everyone.. I learned a lot!!
I liked the class.
Lots of reading for class material and assignments, without this it will be little chance of passing. AM GOV textbook is used a lot for references, be sure to get this. Professor and class can be overwhelming to some.
Discussions are not difficult, but be prepared to do a lot of work for it. He assigns videos to watch, along with the chapters to read. Exams are sort of difficult, but he assigns study guides to give you an idea of what to expect. Overall, a nice professor and is always communicating with students.
Too many extras not enough emphasis on Nevada
Great professor, very thorough and gives relateable topics for humor and to make it easier to understand
I enjoyed taking his class. He was informative and made me think.
I took his class online and it was great! You have to write long discussion posts that are time-consuming but not difficult. The tests are timed giving you about 2 hours to complete them. This is plenty of time and I passed easily with them all. He is a great professor and is really personable with his students, even for an online course.
This class was very amazing and I am glad I took it. With this class I have realized politics is very important.
I wish we had something better to prepare for the quizzes!
I enjoyed taking this class very much! Not difficult at all just as long as you do your work and stay on top of your assignments then you're all good!
Good teacher, keeps you reading, assigns interesting articles/discussions, and gets you thinking.
He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the course. He responded to any questions within a timely manner. One thing I didn't like was that there was only two types of assignments (BBDs and Quizzes).
I enjoyed your posts they were funny and entertaining. It was difficult to participate in the war room for a six week course. I tried but I wish I could of done more.
Professor Gonzales was fantastic, I can't say enough good things about him as a teacher. He always made sure we knew was expected, gave ample reminders and always explained why things were set up the way they are. It's a difficult course, there's a ton of content, especially in a summer course so get ready to read. Overall, great experience.
There were only 8 assignments. 4 tests not too hard and 4 BBDs those were the pain to do.
If I was majoring in Politics I would highly recommend D. Gonzalez. The tests are extremely difficult i found. There was always someone getting 100% and I have no idea how. The pace was very fast and kept coming. Writing assignments were quite lengthy done right.
Not too many assignments, but when there is one, it is a decent assignment. The BBD's are a bit hard, he expects you to cite the text way too many times in my opinion.
This professor posts lots of announcements and I think makes it really easy to know what's going on. The quizzes were really hard, but I don't know of any way to change that. I think it's awesome that professor Gonzales loves what he teaches. That makes it more fun.
Great teacher overall Doesn't give a lot of feedback Grades super quick Gives feedback for and visible to the whole class Read your books!! Use all the resources provided Clear expectations
I am not much of a political person. But I did learn a lot about the government and why and how it works.
Professor Danny Gonzalez sends emails out and keeps us updated with current news. And sometimes he sends emails that make you smile and chuckle. He finds a way to make his class enjoyable since we cannot interact face to face. Danny is a great professor and you can tell he loves what he does!
This is purely a self manage class with this professor as the person who checks your progress through the online tests and deadline. Im his online student, so its just how it is. He provides all the notes and resources for you with the exception of books, so as long youre on top of reading the chapter assigned that week youre good.
To be honest, I think Professor Gonzales seems like an awesome person. He has so much in common with my father when he talks about movies and what not, and I loved how it tried to make things funny and incorporate those movies into the material. But I did not like the class very much at all. I did learn a few things, but I did't like the material
Mr. Gonzales' class can help you learn a lot about Political Science, even in his 8 week course.
Mr Gonzaless working isnt tough, but it requires putting in work and actually reading to find back up what you state. He is a very caring teacher who actually makes you work for your grade which is always appreciated.
I learned more than I thought I would. Very informative class
So cool, down to earth guy. Loved the class!
Really great and caring professor. Gives you all the material and guidelines you need to pass the class along with actually learning along the way. I took his class online which was great. There were only 8 assignments-4 exams and 4 essay-like responses. Overall, great class and would definetly reccommend!
Professor Gonzales is a great political science professor and I'm very lucky to be apart of his class! I really enjoy his teaching and learning! I would love to have him as a professor again and hope other students have the fortunate opportunity to be apart of his class!
Not many assignments, but they're all very long. Be sure to read the textbook and put lots of effort into the discussions.
He loves his job and cares for his students. I took his class during the fall semester and every two weeks we an exam or a discussion post. The discussion posts can't be put off to the last minute (min of word 750 I generally did 1,800 +) He gives 10 bonus points for doing an extra discussion. His exams aren't horrible, nor are they great.
The extra materials and constant feedback Professor Gonzales gave were great in helping with learning the lessons. His excitement showed through all the updates he constantly gave through out the course. Professor Gonzales is one educator that I would choose over and over again and refer to others.
You are literally only given 8 assignments throughout this course; 4 discussions, which you are given two weeks to complete (BE PREPARED TO WRITE) , and 4 exams. Each assignments are two weeks apart. He's very funny and refers to a lot of fictional content.
There is a good amount of work in this class. But its doable.
Mr. Gonzales is overall a pretty good teacher. There isn't a lot of homework, but that just makes everything worth more. The BBD's are the make or break for this class. DON'T SKIP THE BBD'S! On his tests, he likes to get crazy specific, but if you pay close attention and take good notes, they aren't too hard. Overall a good teacher. Likes Star Wars
Gonzales was a good professor-- I could tell he put a lot of work into the class, and he's funny! LOTS of reading. Not many assignments but they involved a lot of writing. Exams were difficult and some questions were extremely specific.
This class made me realize a lot about out government. Professor Gonzales made it very interesting by constantly referencing Star Wars and Comic Books.
Took Professor Gonzales class online and overall the class was easy. There is a lot of information to take it, but it will all be worth it. As long as you read the assigned readings, take notes on the videos, complete the discussions, and do well on exams like you are suppose to, you will pass the class. Professor Gonzales is also a jokester!
He's a great teacher. He kept the class interesting and has a wonderful sense of humor. Gives few assignment, but the are pretty long.
Really nice professor I took him online and wasnt stressed about his class at all. He requires a discussion and a test and that was all that was graded. He has extra credit opportunities and a lot of memes.
His work was very heavy, but I felt no piece of it was unnecessary. I only wish that it was broken down into smaller pieces. He was a professor I could respect and had well thought out assignments.
Fun topics and he is very entertaining. Class was not overly difficult but there is a lot of reading.
Professor Gonzales is a really interesting character with a ton of enthusiasm. Seriously, I have never met someone who loves political science as much as this guy. His class was spread out so that reading was one week and writing was another, which made it much easier to learn the material. Overall, very fun and very clear in expectations.
There were set dates when things were due. He tried to make the class entertaining in his emails and videos he would send to the class. It was a great class.
This professor is very outgoing with his classes, he makes announcements almost everyday reminding his students of upcoming assignments . Theres a total of 8 assignments given every week or so... requires a lot of reading. But overall the class was easy to manage!
The chapters are lengthy but they are useful to the board discussions and the tests. Make sure to read the AM Gov because its what you use for the discussions and tests. Professor Gonzales doesn't accept late work but you get until nearly midnight to turn in the assignments.
Really enjoyed this class but does require work. Lots of reading, watching videos, etc. Grades come from Exams and BBD Discussion Posts but his instructions are very clear on what is required. Must read the textbook. Love his personality and very funny!
He's an amazing professor. I would take him over and over again if i could. He's a bit of a nerd and makes the class so much fun. You'll have to utilize the textbook since it contributes to most of your grade.
This teacher is great has lots of funny jokes. Makes you want to show up for class just to see what he is writing in announcements.
He is a great teacher that wants to get students involved in the political process. I wish I invested more time in the discussions because they were actually thought-provoking and worth pondering outside of class. Be prepared for a lot of pop culture references though.
I've taken his winter PSC class and honestly was not bad at all. You simply have to do the work and read the book. He's really specific about what he wants and when he wants it. I really appreciate that in a professor. He's a cool guy and really easy to talk to. If someone had a problem in his class, its probably because of their participation.
Danny is a great teacher but, the class is very tedious. He is very good at answering question you may have and give good description of what needs to be done. You have to really give it your all for this class unless you really enjoy politics . It is very important to cite out of the book because BBD's are a big part of your grade.
Professor Gonzales is a great professor! He cares about all his students. Theres quite a bit of readings and the bbds can take a while, but its worth it. I took this class as a winter course, and its totally manageable!
Over all he is a great professor and gives everything needed in order to succeed in his class.
The class overall was amazing I would advise anyone taking any government class to select this professor
this class was good and not to hard .
Professor Gonzalez is a very good professor if you need any help you are able to email him and he will answer you as soon as ha can.
Good guy, helpful and attentive to students.
Brah this class was easy. This is how a class should be taught.
Enjoyed the class!
This professor made this class feel fun and exciting. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot
I thought this class was good, you showed that you cared by reminding us that the discussions were due and it just seemed like a fun class, and you graded fairly.
PSC 101 was one of the hardest classes I have taken so far, but I like that there is so much packed into a few weeks. The course material actually correlated with two of my other classes which really helped.
This was a great class and Gonzales gave good feedback on assignments within the set time frame.
I didn't pass this class, but that was my own fault. Procrastination is a beast that you feed. Easily one of the funniest professors/teachers I've ever had, and it wasn't too bad of a course load if you proactively work on it per week. Textbooks are critical. Good feedback on what points were missed as well as crystal-clear grading criteria.
I really enjoyed this class I was able to learn a lot through the discussion posts. Discussions were very intriguing and included videos explaining several different topics. He is very clear and specific on how he wants the assignments completed and dont procrastinate on it because some of the videos are an hour long. I would highly recommend him!
He's a decent instructor. I took an online 8 week political science course with him and I passed. As long as you cited enough sources and properly convey your meaning you'll get a good grade on everything besides tests.
I took the 5 week online class, so it was a lot of work! The BBD's take at least 5 hours each, so make sure you do not procrastinate. You must cite sources at least 3 times per section of the BBD or else you will not get full points. I also had a test once a week. This class was very difficult, but the professor is pretty good.
BBD posts are killer. But overall a great teacher and class for anyone legitimately interested in Political Science because the assignments are strongly on topic and he is very excited, knowledgeable, and engaged about the material.
less announcements
I think that if we watched fewer videos it would be better because sometimes they took a while to watch and put into perspective the information given
He is really funny, he likes to use Star Wars references but that's not a bad thing, it made it interesting.
Very involved with his students and communicated daily about assignments, news, etc.
Continual communication is good.
I enjoyed taking this class and Dr. Gonzales is a great professor. Everyone can tell that he is passionate in teaching and I noticed it from the first day of class. He also gives extra credit as one of the last assignments. Finish your assignments on time and you will be fine in the class. Test and BBD assignments are time consuming but worth it.
I feel my inbox responses, were en-interpersonal; as if I was talking to a machine. Repetitive, and uncaring to my personal situation... i.e :. My computer crashed, and I lost all my work, can I get a opportunity to still turn in my homework? Response, No late assignment after due date. Repetitive, responses vs. a new relationship Online stu!
Mr. Gonzales .. TRULY AMAZING and hilarious !! Best professor I've ever had.
Professor G. is one Mad "Political" Scientist! He's a very humorous instructor and wants nothing more than to have all his students end the course happily and more knowledgeable in Politics. He is very clear in what he wants the assignments to convey. I recommend this professor to any one who thinks politics are awful.
I enjoyed the consistent engagement and personality he showed in his emails and announcements. The videos and readings assigned were of really high quality. I learned a lot beyond my existing knowledge base of politics. Best class of my degree!
Good Class, Enjoyed it
Professor was great and really made this class worthwhile! It was a quick 6 week course but he made it very clear from the beginning what was do when. He was very enthusiastic about the subject which made it easier to be engaged. Beware of multiple announcements a day with a ton of jokes you have to read through. Overall, pretty cool guy!
Professor Gonzales is hilarious and very inspirational. Despite the difficulty of the class, I truly felt that his personality really helped me change my perspective of the content. This was one of my favorite classes, I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Excellent teacher
I enjoyed the videos and interactions that made the class fun and entertaining.
Dr. Gonzales was an enjoyable, easy-to-follow professor whom I would take again. But, be prepared to do a lot of reading and even more video watching! His material can be repetitive, but his BBDs (while a lot of work) are really rewarding.
Lots of info in six weeks.
The class I took was actually 2195PSC101. Professor Gonzales is a wonderful teacher. He makes the class come alive and keeps it upbeat. He cares for his students and wants them to learn the material. I really enjoyed having Professor Gonzales as my teacher!
I enjoyed every assignment but I needed more time on quizzes. I feel I would have done better on the quizzes if I had even 30 more minutes on the quizzes. I am very disappointed with my quiz performance and feel I was tested more on how quickly I could take not on how well I knew the material. I enjoyed this class very much.
Very good professor overall. He gave clear instructions and graded accordingly.
Professor Gonzales is by far the best professor I have had. His class is well put together and does not require much more than readings and studying for tests. Just be smart on scheduling when you are going to do your assignments and you should easily pass the class.
Professor Gonzalez provided great instructions throughout the course, but he didn't really provide feedback to fix your mistakes. It would have been a lot more helpful if feedback was provided.
I was constantly on the brink of overload but grateful for the challenge
Professor Gonzales made his grading rubric very clear and all instructions were helpful.
He is very prompt at grading assignments and is fair!
You were my favorite part of the class, Danny. Thanks for being funny and lightening the mood and keeping us going.
Though I would have liked some feedback on the BBD's, Professor Gonzales was excellent in all areas. He was prompt and organized. I never felt that even though this was an online class, that the class was on his back burner. He was always clear on what he wanted and expected. I'm very pleased to have had Professor Gonzales.
good course, lots of reading but probably because it was 8 weeks. great content.
Every Sunday is a test or BBD. The BBD takes a long time but if you complete each part and cite the book three times it should you should get an A. Sundays at 11:55pm is the only time assignments are due
Good class, hard as it was 8 weeks. Professor kept it very engaging with lots of open discussions.
Professor G is not a bad teacher at all. He is very witty and quite funny. If you follow his rules for the BBD's those are easy A's. The only thing is that the test were hard. The class average on these tests was at a D-. I do believe that has a lot to do with having our textbook as the only point of guidance for these tests.
This class was actually quite enjoyable. The only problem that I had was that there was really no way to catch up if you bombed the quizzes. The teacher himself is an AMAZING professor and it truly feels as though he cares for his students. As long as you are willing to study and put in the work to have a great profesor, then I recommend this class
you will have to do these things called BBD's and if you have the AM GOV textbook it is so easy the information is given its just a matter of putting it together and for test review, everything is on quizlet to help you.
The professor is good, but the class is difficult and it is a lot to keep up with.
He passed the vibe check
Professor Gonzales is an awesome instructor with a great sense of humor! He regularly posted reminders & additional resources and when contacted he is very quick to answer. Note that if you are taking this class don't procrastinate! This course requires time & effort. Also be prepared to take lots of notes, which will help with tests & BBDs.
he is hilarious and his methods of teaching are awesome he makes it to where the class is not boring he keeps it lively. I cannot wait to have him again.
Keeps you updated with no surprises
Please do not make assignments due on holiday breaks. Many people forget assignments due on holiday breaks. Also, please make the exams a little less difficult. Some questions I looked in the book and could not find it. Overall, really good class.
The class was very hard, and I would not not take this class if you are not good at political science. There were 6 exams, (not proctored) 4 essays and 15 points of ex. cred. However, if you are up to a challenge, the professor is very fun and he will make the content interesting. He posts announcements regularly and keeps the class well informed.
He was a great teacher overall and was very helpful if you ever asked him a question about an assignmnet. I struggled with his exams but if you take the notes and studied a bit harder I sure you would pass his exams.
The instructions/expectations are pretty clear and the professor regularly posted reminders and class updates. I didn't have a lot of questions, but the professor seemed very accessible and timely from what I observed.
This was a good class, the only reason why I'm not a fan of it is due to its topic. Politics have never interested me, so it was a harder class for me to get engagged in. With that being said, Professor G constructed it in a way to where the information (at least the important bits) have a tendency to stick.
Prof Gonzales, is a character. Super nice and charming. I took him for the government online class and it was relatively fun, as far as politics go. You will use the book heavily for weekly assignments as well as quizzes. You should do fine in the class as long as you follow the rubric.
I like the way you keep track of our class because you post reminders on assignments and try to keep up with the pop culture in some places but I would like to see lectures in the future for note-taking so that I can learn the class with ease and please respond to graded assignments so that I know what I did wrong.
Discussions were pretty simple even with having to make sure in-text citations from book flowed with what the discussion was. Overall, pretty fun class. Loved reading all the announcements by Professor Gonzales and all the Star Wars references were very entertaining since I love Star Wars. Would take this class again in a heartbeat!
The class consisted of tests and BBD's. The tests are 60 questions (30 questions for one chapter and 30 questions for another chapter) and the BBDs consist of four questions (usually one of the questions will require you to watch an hour-long video). I suggest to not leave the reading 'till last minute and to take notes on the reading!
I really enjoyed taking this class because I was able to learn a lo of stuff that became really helpful for me.
This class was easy if you are a person who gets work done on time. Yes, there are tests, but you get all of the right materials to be successful in this class. Danny is always open to questions, always keeps up on grading, and is very professional. If you can take a few hours out of your day to do homework, this is the class for you.
Fantastic Professor. You'll have 4 discussion posts, one quiz, a midterm, a final, and one extra credit assignment. If you also comment on the War Room Posts(a side discussion feed) he will bump up your grade if you are on the edge. He does use the plus minus system(A B that is 86% is different then a B that is 80%). Very funny and caring. Take Him
Outstanding Professor of Political Science! Engaging, very humourous, thoughtful, non-partisan instruction, one of the greatest experiences I've ever had with any course that I've taken. Dr. Gonzales' excellence in instruction cannot be emphasised endough. A wonderful man, teacher and mentor that you will learn far beyond the course subject. A+!
Professor Gonzales cares about his students and their responses. If you cite the textbook correctly and put in effort, you will get an A.
I took the 5 week course during winter break which I was very scared of at first but Professor G had a clear layout and understanding of what was expected. He made jokes and interacted with the class everyday giving us reminders of what was to come.
Clear instructions make for an easy to follow grading rubric.
I took the five week political science course with Dr. Gonzales, and, although it may have been stressful at time, I really enjoyed being in his class. He's very clear in what he expects in class, and he gives reminders as well as good feedback! Just make sure you stay on top of the workload and you will get a good grade.
Promptly responds to emails and gives good criticism
I took the 5 and 1/2 weekend class and taking a hiatus off school for 5 years it was challenging the professor was willing to work with me and he even call when I was concern. So there is a lot writing in the class just make sure to remember to do the citing and stay on top you will be okay in the class. It was challenging but I like and to learn.
Professor Gonzalez has a very outstanding personality, and it really make learning about American politics that much more fun. The material that is covered alludes and references many recognizable current events and names. As a winter class, Professor Gonzalez led my PSC 101 class very well.
Professor Gonzales is personable and communicates clearly and often. He adheres to the syllabus. The only surprise was a chance to earn extra credit.
Danny's pretty simple. If you cite the textbook in the discussions and reach the word count he'll give you full credit, that is all he asks (you don't have to reply to other students thankfully). As long as you do the work, you'll pass. He grades quickly and gives feedback. He's very enthusiastic and I would take another class of his.
Professor Gonzales is a teacher that is passionate about what he teaches, which is a major strength. However, if you're not doing as well as you think you could/would/should or don't understand something, you have to talk to him about it as quickly as you can. This class moves fast, so be sure you know what the expectations are and you'll do fine.
There were not a lot of assignments or exams; however, they were not too difficult to complete. The textbook is needed to complete assignments.
Dr. G actually made PSC enjoyable. The work is not difficult, just be sure to read the textbook & watch the videos. I took a winter course and the assignments were just BBD's and tests. If you put in a little effort, you'll really enjoy the class. Also, Dr. G keeps the class interesting with his fun emails and questions. You'll want to participate.
Dr. Gonzales is a quirky, funny professor that does not accept procrastination. If an assignment is turned in late, it's an automatic zero. Just be sure to stay on top of the work which is realitively easy, but long. Overall, I learned several aspects about politics and I would reccomend it to anyone in the general population.
Overall for an online class it was fine, but a very heavy class in terms of work. Tests are long and you HAVE to read the textbook in order to get a good grade on the test. His assignments are very textbook heavy. Be prepared to work A LOT, he's very strict about late work, so turn in your work when its due. You'll end up being your own teacher.
Professor Gonzales is a great teacher, who really communicates with his students and cares about their participation. I took the half semester course so that could be why it seemed harder but if you stay on top of it, and pay attention to his clear grading rubric, you will do fine
Great teacher! Fair grader and gives you the grade you deserve. One of the best online teachers I've had so far.
Professor Gonzales is very thorough with the explanation of class material and gives a clear understanding of what is expected of you in the class. He made it very easy for me to stay organized and to complete my assignments due to the way the layout of the class was. In addition, he actively engages with the class through emails.
This was the best and easiest class I have ever taken. I really enjoyed the structure of the class and the content. One thing due a week, either a BBD or an exam. All you have to do is keep up on your work and cite the text and you will get an A. The class was interesting and Prof. Gonzales even posted frequently. He also grades assignments fast.
The study guides were really helpful when taking exams. It is important to spend time studying and reading the assigned material. The effort you put in will reflect on the grade you get in class!
I took PSC101 online and if you go by his rubric, it's really easy to pass. There was a total of 11 things that were graded for this class. The tests were really hard but most answers were on quizlet. The BBD's are easy to get an A because he doesn't really care what you write if you just include the amount of quotes and words he says to include
Great instructor, he posts several announcements and reminders. Tests were somewhat hard for me but this subject isn't my strong suit. Your grade will go up or down easily due to the fact there isn't a ton of assignments and tests.
Great class
Lots of reading and understanding the American system of government and politics.
Best teacher so far
Most of the grade came from essay like posts you're assigned.
TO MUCH READING!!!!!! PARTICIPATION A MUST!!!!! Its so easy to fall behind in this class, than you are unable to make the grade up. Professor is funny but very strict. This is one of the hardest classes I have taken, but politics and government have never been an interest or a strong suit.
Professor G, I want to thank you for your refreshing presentation of PSC101 you lightened the mood with your humor and regular posts. Even though this course was reading-heavy, it was necessary to understand a lot of the concepts. I'd previously mentioned my appreciation with the notes and PowerPoint presentations, they were super useful! Miriam B
Easy class, just remember to read the text book and refer to it in the BBD's.
He's honestly a good teacher, but you have to work for your grade. You get out of it what you put in. Take notes on the book and study HARD and you'll be okay. With discussion questions, you need to be specific and detailed or you'll lose points which will HEAVILY affect your grade. Work hard and you'll be okay!
Dr. Gonzales was a funny instructor with clear guidelines for this online class. I enjoyed the class and found the extra discussions and posts interesting to read and learn about. If you do your work and follow the guidelines, you will do well in the class. You definitely need to read the material, like you do any class.
Professor Gonzales is a good professor. The tests are very difficult. Be prepared to cite the text a lot. Overall tough class, but rewarding.
I took his Online PSC101 class and while the discussions take forever they are a good learning opportunity and he graded me fairly. He is always checking in and giving people opportunity to ask questions which I liked.
I spent a lot of time reading. I did so good on the assignments, but nearly failed every test that cost me a good grade. The questions are difficult to understand at best, so study study study.
I enjoyed the jokes professor Gonzales shared with us. The BBDs were the easiest part just need to site your your proof. The tests were difficult but take your time.
I loved the commentary and humor in the announcements and discussions! Only negative I have is that there is a ton of reading with no actual lectures. I prefer to hear a lecture and be able to take notes as well as read the material. Make sure to cite your textbook in every part of the BBD posts and read the material. If so youll do well!
I learned things I didn't know I could possibly learn. I was surprised with what I learned.
As long as you participate and do the work, it is a great class.
Took PSC 101 Summer course. He is pretty awesome! It was honestly a laid back class, but he does challenge you to branch out, which is a very good thing! As long as you complete your assignments, you will definitely get an A.
Every other week, the instructor assigns Bulletin Board Discussion questions in which you must read text &watch videos ply all materials together to the provided questions. These assignments required the use of critical thinking at times but also really aid in obtaining and retaining knowledge to be successful. He is a hilarious and fun!!
Professor Gonzales really cares about and loves his job, which is less common nowadays than I wish it was. I took PSC 101 as a summer class, and it wasn't too bad, the usual. If you want to learn political science, this is the guy for you!
Professor Gonzales was a great professor! Although it is an online class, he is very funny and feels personal. You HAVE to have the text book in this class, because you are required to cite your discussions. The class is extremely straight forward and there are no surprises. If you do the work, you'll get a good grade.
Wonderful Professor and I would take another class taught by him without hesitation.
Lots and lots of readings from textbooks to his online communications with students. He replies to questions promptly. Full of (perceived) energy. I'll choose his class for further education in this field.
Very interesting class
Good class! Lengthy essay due biweekly, test biweekly. Great organization on his website. Loved it.
A good class. There is lots of reading. You won't get by with just skimming and the test are sometimes very difficult. Overall a good professor and funny.
Well explained class. Although it was an 8-week course it is fairly easy.
To describe Professor Gonzales I would say he is very into incorporating outside views into the political class. He used many quotes that tied to political science and helped you think of "the bigger picture". At the beginning of this class I was not interested in any for of politics, now I find myself watching the news and talking to others.
PSC 101 was a great class to be in, however is very difficult. Because of COVID, I had to take it online and spent over 3 days reading material to be prepared for the 60 question exams. He only gave us 4 days to do the exam before it was closed, and there was A LOT of reading. 2 chapters per week may not seem like a lot, but with political science.
He always makes me excited to learn, and I never thought I'd enjoy a class about politics!
I really enjoyed his class. Overall I learned more then I thought I was going to. I never had any ideas into taking political science, but I have it a shot and it wasnt hard at all. I would for sure take notes and READ , READ the textbooks very clearly to help with the 60 question exam. Easy & fun class!
The professor is incredibly nice, but the tests and quizzes felt way too difficult compared to the readings and videos provided.
Danny Gonzales is an amazing teacher. He's hilarious and makes the class fun. He gives very clear instructions so you always know what he expects of you. Overall very fun teacher, a very fun class, and very informative as well.
If you do your work and keep up with the materials you wont have any problem. Professor Gonzalez always answered my emails very quickly and was ver professional and courteous.
Hes an amazing professor who really cares about his students success and ability to learn! It was a super fun and interesting course, but if you dont want to do the readings you wont pass! He wants all text and videos heavily cited along with peer reviewed journals and there is no way around it.
He is very consistent and there are no surprises.
Fun class.
Enjoyed the different aspects of class would take again.
Professor Gonzales is an excellent! He truly care about his students and what he is teaching them. There will be extra videos and links for assignments but they were always interesting and helped with the learning material. I would recommend this class especially to push yourself when it comes to politics and elections.
Great class. Very informative.
Utilizing pop culture to connect with Politics was very helpful. Professor Danny has great interest in the subject with always makes it more engaging. The videos we watched were all really good.
Gave feedback on homework and was clear about expectations for homework. was informative throughout the class about homework assignments.
Really like the readings and this class is something you'll enjoy and learn lot of new things as well.
Wish i could've took more time to enjoy the class and readings more, but its a class where you will learn alot of things.
His discussion posts are pretty lengthy but he gives you enough prompts to fill in that whole word requirement.
He was awesome.
Is a nice teacher, who will try to help and not seem condescending. He always had interesting announcements.
Professor Gonzales is very clear as to what he expects with each assignment. Follow the directions and youll do fine! He is also very interactive with the class and ahead of the game when it comes to preparation. Highly recommend!
Tests were medium, but you can really guarantee a good grade with the weekly discussions. Make sure you reference the book 3 times for each section and you will be golden.
He is a very funny & respectful professor. He is very clear on what he wants on assignments & DOESNT ACCEPT LATE WORK. Overall, easy class and should get an A!
If I have the option to take a class instructed by Prof. Gonzales in the future, I would in a heartbeat. My brief class with him was enough for me to say he's the best Prof. I've had so far.
Professor Gonzales is one of the best educators I have ever had. He has a clear passion for teaching and his class. In this class, we had 4 Bulletin Board Discussions (1 extra credit option) and 4 Exams. The BBDS are time consuming, but as long as you include 3-4 quotes from the textbook in each part, you will get full credit. LOVED this professor.
This prof is great, the exams are a bit tough but def take him. There a few assignments when taking PSC in the winter. Very manageable, one or two assignments due every week, and they are short to do.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Professor Gonzales. I took his 5 week winter course and it wasn't too difficult. If you're looking to get PSC101 out of the way, I would recommend taking his winter course if you are up for it.
He was a good teacher. He was helpful when you would ask him a question.
Great Professor, clear grading criteria, fun class. We had 4 discussions and 4 tests with a week to do each assignment. Highly recommend Professor Gonzales for PSC 101.
Dr. Gonzalez definitely made us work for our grade, but it was worth it! He gives thought provoking assignments. I learned so much in his class. I highly recommend Dr. Gonzalez. You get what you give.
Professor Gonzales is a great teacher and makes class fun. I found myself looking forward to his announcements, he's very outgoing and nice. Very understanding and will give you feedback on work. As long as you don't procrastinate the assignments aren't so bad, and he gives a lot of information to study with that helps. Take him! I learned a lot.
Professor Danny Gonzales is a unique Professor. He is very knowledgeable, and makes class fun. He answers his emails and has a good turn around with grades.
Great professor shares a lot of political information, articles, posts, and videos.
I loved this class and Professor. It was the perfect class for me and was never stressed.
The professor is very Knowledgable and is a fun class. I have learned a lot from this class. I look very smart among my friends discussing American politics.
The professor is very humorous and has an open mind who know how to respect student' opinions.
Very detailed lectures!
Professor Gonzales is one of the most fun instructors I have had in an online course. He offers so much reading material that is humorous yet educational! I have a new appreciation for politics now. I highly recommend this course!
I took the accelerated online PSC 101 class. To future students: this is as clear as it gets. You do the work, you will get a good grade! There are discussion boards or exams every week. However, the discussion boards are a 4 question short-essay type and they require you do the reading (make sure you do not leave this for the last minute) 10/10 !
Danny is hilarious and makes the class fun. I had trouble getting the reading in but that was my focus issue, not the course load. I took the summer semester accelerated class and really enjoyed it. Danny is fair and fun and the class is great.
Professor Gonzales was a great teacher. I think he cares about teaching all of his students and finding ways to help them relate to politics and understand them in easy ways. He sent out a lot of emails with a lot of information. It felt like a personal newsletter from him a few times a week. He expected good work, but also had clear expectations.
Provides study guides, summaries in a doc and in a powerpoint. Overall provides everything one might need for a good grade in the class. As long as you read the chapter summaries and skim through the textbooks it will get you set for the test. For summer classes there is only reading, watching videos, and a test every week.
I took the summer class and it has been online. Excellent structure and clear expectations/guides. This professor takes the extra time to add current events into the course material. Very concise on what to do if you need help and who to contact. Overall it has been an enjoyable course with tons of informative content.
Maybe it's different because it was a summer class, but the only graded assignments were the exams. On the one hand, great, not very much homework, but on the other hand, not so great. Messing up on just one quiz could ruin your grade, and with the fact that he accepts no late work and offers no extra credit, there is a lot of stress when studying.
He really made this class more enjoyable.
The work in this class is doubled when taken in the shortened summer semester. Be prepared to do lots of reading and focus on additional assignments. The study guides are helpful but do not always cover every question that will appear on the exam. The War Room is engaging with several entertaining and informative materials correlating to studies.
This was a great class and the Professor did a great job constantly giving us extra materials and study guides for our exams. He was quite the character and was very active in class discussions!
Professor Gonzalez does a great job at providing all the necessary information to get a good grade in this class. Power points are available for each chapter and he provides outside recourses that pertain to the chapters. He is available to answer questions and provides necessary feedback.
Even though I am not a fan of politics I enjoyed this class. Professor Gonzalez made this class easy to understand and entertaining.
Professor Danny is the consummate professional and very clear in everything. Funny, too.
Amazing Professor, but the exams are HARD. This is my least favorite subject, so I didnt retain any of it. For exams I looked up every answer in the book, took the full 2 hours, and still got around 84% on each one. Its a lot of work, but if I can do it, you can too. Professor is funny, engaging, involved, provides great material and discussions.
This class is amazing. The professor is so funny & makes sure everyone is ready to learn. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure you have time to take the quizzes/tests (do not rush).
This class was an informative and amazing experience
Professor Danny G was honestly one of the best. Hands down no questions asked. 8 exams and 2 quizzes. Everything is so easy. He is so funny. He likes to add memes, movie/tv references, and today's pop culture in his posts. Such a great PSC101 course. I don't like politics but his class was fun and entertaining. Take him for PSC101!
good teacher, good class
We were only given exams for the whole semester, however, they were pretty easy to get a good grade on if you studied the material that was assigned.
There were a lot of tests, but if you study you'll do fine
Prof. Gonzalez was an awesome teacher. He told you the layout for the class from day one with the syllabus and if you didn't read it, that was a you problem. He always let us know the next day about our exams.
Did not teach
This course consists of readings and tests, which is super nice. Professor Gonzales provides all that is needed to succeed on these tests. He also keeps the class informed well with his consistent announcements.
The assignments are open book(AM GOV)exams that are 60 questions&cover two chapters. I didn't use the Sagebrush State at all. Be warned, if you do badly on the exam then you have no other opportunities to raise your grade and if you email him for help he directs you to "study material" that is virtually useless. Use the book's search tool, it helps
Mr. Gonzales, gets you prepared for you exams with study guides that I find very helpful. I always look forward to his emails because of the quotes he has in them or jokes. I would definitely take this class again because of him.
He's a good professor. You will have a lot of reading but if you do a quick read and then study with a quizlet you will do fine. Read the course lecture notes and just take some time out of your day to study. He's funny, nice, and seems to be willing to help students when they need it. He also takes the class average for tests so you'll get 2 point
Professor Gonzalez, helpful all you have to do is ask, Gives you the study guide. Read the book watch what you're assigned! He makes the class more entertaining! He grades based on the class as a whole, very fair. Overall I'm very please and highly recommended.
The class is made up of tests, so if you're a good test taker, then you'll do fine. There are no written assignments or essays. Class would be better if there was at least one written assignment. I do like that professor Gonzales does not allow late assignments. If you can't finish an assignment on time, then clearly, you are not college material!
When you ask him for help she needs to realize that if it's like a a study guide he could say why don't you read page such as such instead of saying ask ask another student that is was my that's my biggest complaint
This class was my second time taking political science (I dropped the class the first time) and I had thoroughly enjoyed it this time around! Professor Gonzales has a great sense of humor and makes taking the class fun. Highly recommend!
Professor Gonzales was a great professor. Required class work is reading the textbook and an exam every other week on them. You reading the textbook is needed to pass, but if you have an understanding of what it is saying, you should be good. He will also make multiple pop culture references and sparks discussions that make the class more fun.
There are many tests but if you read what youre supposed to and study from the quiz study guides its manageable.
Professor Gonzales is a good professor, his announcements present a lot of important information in a fun and creative way. It's very important you read the chapters indicated since the exams are based on them.
I was moving, working and had a lot going on during this class. I know I would have done better had I focused more. Expectations are clear and the class is very straightforward. He responds to questions promptly and engages well while giving students independence, which I appreciated. Id definitely take a class with him again.
Professor Gonzales is a professor who actually discusses with students and even talks about modern day topics in a interesting way. Class consisted of just exams and no assignments and the textbooks were hardly necessary just get the AMGOV one. Overall just make sure to do things on time.
Great, fun interactive class!
Fun professor!
Follows the syllabus. Sends out detailed notices of what to do and by when for course work each week. Would take another class from this teacher.
Great instruction. I had a few things come up through the course and he was very understanding. If I had to retake the class I could Choose him out of the others I had the option for.
Professor Gonzales was amazing, I have no complaints! He made this course as easy as possible for his students.
Solid teacher who makes Political Science entertaining and fun. This class was not bad at all and I really enjoyed this course.
Danny Gonzales was a great professor!! I would definitely take a class from him again, as well as recommend him to others. He was very easy to reach, I felt the expectations were reasonable, and he was very involved in the class.
Professor was straight forward and provided the reading material.
Amazing proffesor, such a unique way of teaching keeps you intrested as well as intrigued for the next war room post! would definetley take again.
This was a great course overall. Very easy to understand and it expands your knowledge about American Politics. I like how the instructor gave out frequent reminders of tests that are upcoming and when they're due so that people don't forget. If I had the chance to retake this course I definitely would. One of the best instructors I've had all year
Just had to read an x amount of stuff then have one exam weekly that would open on Thursday morning and close Sunday night. Pretty chill!
I enjoyed this class. He gave you all the material needed and guided each student through it. He was very helpful. His class was just based on exams thought.
Dr.Gonzales is a very intriguing professor.
Very easy to reach out to, clear and cut on what is required. Overall, easy to work with, and a great professor. Highly recommend.
Was very clear in expectations and proved many extra credit "War Room" discussion posts (25 points). Very caring and respectful, immediately reached out after accidentally missing one of the tests and allowed me to retake same day.
