One of the best teachers I have this semester. I always enjoy going to his class. He's funny and makes class interesting. He really relates to us students.

Easy class, a lot to study for the test, but your always out early and you learn a lot, great teacher.

He is very unique, knows how to relate to the students, throws in humor which I love. I woudn't think twice about taking another class with him. I might give his dad a try next semester to compare technique. Dan I enjoyed the class immensely and told you so.

He is the best teacher at UNH. Always fun and always to the point. He tells you exactly what to write down as notes, what to study for, and what is on the tests. There is a TEN page paper so be willing to write some, but you shouldnt let that get in your way.

AWESOME teacher. Multiple choice tests with only a mid term and final....and maybe 2 tests. hes so helpful and he TELLS you what to study. he is so awesome, and funny.makes class INTERESTING FOR ONCE!!!! :)

Prof. Maxwell is a wonderful professor. His classes are interesting. challenging, and offer real-world knowledge, he is always available to his students for any reason, and he genuinely wants his students to succeed. If at all possible, take his classes. Both Maxwell Sr. and Jr. are awesome.

Maxwell is the man. Very nice teacher and funny. Keeps the class fun and enjoyable. He's very real brings outside info into the class and students get a kick at it. I hope you would teach more classes so I could take them. This was my first time in his class and I loved it. Everyone always talks about maxwell and now I see why. Max is the best.

Professor Maxwell is the best CJ teacher at UNH. U should register for him for 3 reasons. 1. He tells you what material you need to study for the test. 2. He is a Madison Police Officer with over 20 years experience and lots of great stories. 3. He makes class fun and interesting

Maxwell was such a good teacher. the class was easy and the final took me about 5min but i still learned so much from him. he always has storys for the class and is always joking around but still takes teaching seriously. i highly recommend him!

He's an OK professor. Quizzes are straight forward although they are worded tricky. I wouldn't mind taking him agin. He is a nice guy. Just retired from Madison. Has a lot of great stories. Pretty laid back class. And you always get our about 10-20 minutes early.

He is awesome. fairly funny, and has random jokes. Doesn't mind if you are on your laptop in class and we watch cool movies sometimes. we only have 10 multiple choice questions quizzes which are easy as pie. the final is 40 questions from the previous quizzes. Thumbs up!

Do I even need to comment? Danny Maxwell is awesome, definitely a professor you want to keep in contact with. He has his students' best interests at heart. Definitely take this professor.

He puts me to sleep. His power points are easy because he gives "hints" on what will be on the quizzes and exams.

Prof. Maxwell is one of the best CJ professor. Not only does he show us videos of police chase or anything else that has to do with one needs to learn but he also makes it clear what is going to be on the quiz due to his power points presentations. He is funny and has great stories to tell as well. =]

The class is really laid back and there is not too much of a workload. His lectures highlight the important information and the quizzes are multiple choice. Great guy.

Easy teacher. Don't buy the book just get the interactive. He tells you exactly what is on the test, there is no surprises. Classes can be boring or you feel the need not to attend but he takes random attendance. Great teacher overall, I will be taking him again for everything he teaches.

He is an amazing professor. He gives five quizzes throughout the semester with 20 questions on them...the final is the exact same questions from the quizzes.

His Criminal Law class is a lot like his introductory class. 7 tests and a midterm and he'll give you all the information you need. The book isn't needed and attendance is not mandatory though I reccomend you go because he is a very entertaining professor.

Great teacher. Great energy in the classroom. Powerpoint style marks what you need to know. He has 1st hand experience in CJ. Not worth buying the textbook. He incorporates the whole book in the powerpoint.

Maxwell is a boss! He takes attendance the first week of class and thats usually it. He doesn't use the text book at all, its actually worthless getting it. He puts all the notes on blackboard and the quizzes too. Its like an online class. The quizes are notes that he highlights in red on the powerpoints. The final is all the questions on the quizs

He's an awesome professor. He's funny, smart, and has a lot of life experience that he encorporates into the class. He hates failing people, and gives really easy tests. As long as you show up to class and participate, you should get an A.

Chances are that you'll be put into his intro class, but when you get the option take Criminal Law with him as well. Only teaches what he tests you on, book isn't important, exam is just questions from quizzes, has fun examples, will help you out, offers extra credit, etc. Don't hesitate; take Maxwell.

Awesome guy. Tons of experience in his field and will entertain you with stories from his time as a cop. Usually lets you out of class early. There are four quizzes and one final. He lets you know what is gonna be on them so you know what to study. Like he says, you have to try to fail his class.

He's great! He is really funny and even though he just lectures off of power points for the most part he makes it fun and interesting with all of his stories. He shows some great videos too. As long as you follow along in the book and take notes on the power points you will be solid.

Danny Maxwell is the BEST professor I've ever had! He is an ex-cop with in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system! You will definitely have fun in his class! He hardly every gives homework and you will pass his quizzes if you study the lectures and show up to class! I would definitely recommend taking his class!!

Maxwell is THEBOMBDOTCOM to say the least. Favorite Criminal Justice professor. I probably would have received an A if I had taken the class a little more seriously, I took his relaxed attitude for granted and slacked off in the class. Everyone loves Maxwell. I would absolutely take any class he is teaching just for him. He is an easy grader, loved by everyone, and his class is fun. Definitely take Maxwell!!

Maxwell's lectures can be a little boring but he tells jokes to make the time go by a little faster. There are only a few tests for the course that are easy as long as you do the work online.

Favorite professor.

I will literally take any class Maxwell is teaching. His lectures are always fun and he always has a story to add to the lecture, both for real world comparison and to lighten the mood. His grading criteria is very clear and as long as you take notes off the powerpoint, you are guaranteed a good grade on his quizzes and final. GET MYCJLAB NEED IT!

Maxwell is great. He is very understanding and compassionate unlike most other college professors. His lectures are never boring and he always keeps the class involved. If it was possible I would only take classes he teaches.

Professor Maxwell is experienced and keeps class entertaining. Easy to get an A so long as you keep track of the online work and study for the quizzes/tests. Highly recommend for CJST 1100. Textbook is "required" but I didn't look at it once. Online Pearson subscription is a must.

maxwell's attitude and his stories make you want to go to class everyday and keeps everyone engaged. he puts everything important in another color so that you know and stressed them which is perfect for studying

I just finished my first term as an undergrad CJ student and his Intro to CJ class was very easy to understand. He lectures but as long as you take notes on the powerpoint and do your online MyCJLab homework then you'll be all set to pass the class.

Highly recommend him! Tests are not hard, they are based off the lectures he gives which are very easy to understand. Hilarious and relates well to students.

Professor Maxwell is one of the best Criminal Justice professors. He has a lot of background experience in the field so he is able to provide very real world examples of criminal situations. Plus he's hilarious and very nice.

He tells you exactly what to prep and as long as you show up and study, you will be fine. He changed to an online textbook which you DO have to do (20% of your grade) but some of his quiz questions come from that. Would take again!!

Simple class. Wish there were more grades though besides the 4 tests and Revel work. Good PowerPoints and good attitude while teaching the class.

Only grades are four tests, a final (which is the four tests combined and you have answer key) and online textbook questions which are P/F and you can just click through to get credit. Maxwell is an amazing professor which is why I'm taking criminal law with him next semester. The grading consists of 4 quizzes, a final (which is 20 questions from each quiz), and some simple online homework. He shared about his experiences in the field and made the environment of the class extremely open and friendly. Don't hesitate to take him!

Every lecture is filled with funny stories from his 20+ years as an officer and uses them to contribute to each topic. Beware of the first quiz though and take it seriously.

Great teacher who has experience in everything he teaches. Also has stories that go along with the course. Keeps things interesting with humor and real life applications. Danny Maxwell is my favorite professor so far. He's hilarious and always puts me in a good mood. He's a great professor and knows exactly what he's doing. He wants nothing but the best for his students and will do what he can to help you pass. As long as you do all your work and show up at lectures, this class will be an easy A.

Also don't stress over the quizzes (4 all year, the final is a mix of all of them) bc all you have to do is study the red highlighted points. You learn a lot and watch interesting videos

He is so funny during lecture and his Power Points and lecture give you pretty much everything you need to pass the class. Fair quizzes and he is very transparent with what will be on the quiz. Final is based on the quizzes you take in class.

He really is a great professor, and just wants you to pass to move onto bigger classes. His stories are so funny and his laugh is contagious. Take any class with him!

He is my favorite professor at the school. He makes the class enjoyable and is extremely funny. The online textbook work is mandatory so don't buy a paper book for his class.

You take four quizzes and one final. You have weekly online "Revel" work, which is the online textbook. Literally the easiest and most straight forward class, and you actually learn. Theres a reason everyone loves Maxwell. But for real, just do the online work, show up, and study (or find the quizzes on quizlet) and youre ace.

These reviews don't lie. I'm not a CJ major & took this class because I heard how good Prof. Maxwell is. He DEFINITELY didn't disappoint. He's hilarious, his quizzes are extremely easy, and you can do the online homework while he's going over the chapters in class. He also has a TON of experience in the field. I took his zoom class and it was very straightforward and he was clear about what was expected of us. Tests were easy as long as you pay attention in class. I hear he's even better in person! He has real work experience that he incorporates into class and is always excited to talk to us about it. I would certainly take his class again.

As my first class in college, Intro to CJ was great. I didn't feel overwhelmed but I got a sense of what the professors would be expecting. Professor Maxwell did an amazing job relaying the information we needed to learn, without rambling on and on about things we would not need to know.

Literally one of the best teachers I have ever come across. He makes your class time feel so short because of all of the talking he does but hes extremely passionate about CJ and teaches you in a way where you will understand the material. His grading is extremely clear and the work is easy if you just put in the time to read the text book.

You will use and pay for TopHat. You will have 5 quizzes the entire semester they are based on the chapters from tophat which is also where you will answer your homework questions. You have 3 weeks to do 3 chapters (10 questions each). Show up to class and read the chapters and you will pass with flying colors. He is very funny as well!

Really easy class because all the content is on TopHat. In class, he doesn't teach, just replays videos from the homework and talks through the book. There's no point in coming to class because of this, so most people didn't. He's not very understanding when it comes to missing quizzes, so pay attention to deadlines. Quizzes are not on class days.

Very nice and funny guy. Keeps the class interesting but his quiz methods are a bit off because they are directly copied and pasted from the textbook. Some questions hard to remember directly.

Great teacher he teaches intro courses so all you have to do is buy top hat. Other then that do that chapter work which is not graded based on accuracy just that you do it. You have 5 quizzes and their on canvas. Class is not difficult would take again.

Really cool and funny professor. Homeworks are super easy and so are tests. Just remember even though attendance isn't necessarily mandatory he grades it off by participation and participation is monitored through the textbook software he has us use during class.

I had his class in Fall 2021 and would take it again in a heartbeat. Professor Maxwell is one of the best professors I ever had at this university. He truly is a great instructor. Lectures are fun, and informational. So much great advice and stories from past work experience. I definitely recommend taking him!

lovely professor he is funny and likes to make class fun but still educational. he does live questions to take attendance and they're always funny. he loves showing funny videos at the beginning of class and always makes my day 100x better. I took him for a summer course before I started on campus, and I'm so happy I got the chance to take him again. He adds a lot of personal experience to his lectures and tries to give as many details as possible to help us remember the concepts. The only advice I have is make sure to study for his quizzes, he can ask for specific details a lot.

He was a good prof. Participation matters a lot which is frustrating because he just reads from the textbook and plays videos so I don't learn much from the class time itself but he does his best to make it entertaining and fun. Not my favorite teaching style but he is a sweet guy and seems passionate about his work.

do your tophat work and you'll be fine. test questions are HW questions and questions from videos, the final is remixed questions from the tests. words cannot describe how chill bro is, the goat fr fr. although his classes are literally just him reading from the textbook, i would do other work in class lol

You will need Tophat in order to do any of the course work. He does take attendance and all in class participation through it. Do the readings and the homework and you'll be fine. Lots of questions on the tests/final come from the homework. Pay attention to the videos.

Top Hat is the platform used for HW / In-Class assignments, also used for textbook. Great Professor, although the quizzes are traditional multiple choice on paper which can be odd but all good and fun.

We got out textbook online through TopHat which is a great website and easy to use. All of our homework assignments were also on TopHat but they were very easy. He's a nice person and clearly knowledgeable about criminal justice. Some quizzes were online and some in person but they were fairly easy and the workload was manageable.

This class is almost entirely lecture based with a few quizzes. He keeps the conversation easy to follow and interesting. This is my favorite class I have taken so far. Considering most classes are 100% lecture they are still enjoyable and he has a lot of insight and cool experiences to share.

Coming from high school where there were hour classes, this is very similar. He is very knowledgeable in criminal justice, mostly everything is online, and his classes are quite fun. It's a good class to start the day out. His classes made me want to switch my major from forensics to criminal justice. Would 100% take his class again if I could.

Professor Maxwell is awesome. His class is extremely easy with take-home exams and a light homework load. He has a lot of real-world experience in what he lectures on and constantly adds personal stories from his career to class. Take him, he's funny and an easy A!

Hes great. He's funny, makes you laugh during lectures, and is just a good professor. If it's your first semester, he's a great way to get introduced to college. Do your tophat work, that's like 80% of your grade, lol.
