He always has a great lesson planned out for every week, and if you ever have any questions, he will always answer them for you. He also has extra credit options for every unit, where other professors make them mandatory.

Brother Ricks was very kind and helpful. He was responsive to emails and really seemed to care about his students. He grades in a timely manner and gives good feedback. I would recommend him for this class.

Genuine and caring, one of the best along with Nathan Petersen for REL234! Reading is heavy but typical for this course, assignments are easy and thought provoking. 10/10 highly recommend.

All I can say about Brother Ricks is he is life changing. I had the option of going to class or joining on Zoom and I always chose the in-class option because the spirit was always so prevalent! He helped guide me to becoming a much stronger son of God and his class time was passionate and faith filled. If he taught every class I take them all!

There is a lot of reading but that's to be expected in this course. Expect 20-40 pages a week of reading minimum. Lectures are interesting and funny. Would take again in a heartbeat!

Brother Ricks is amazing! I took REL 351 World Religions, and it was a blast. REL351 has a consistent homework load, and missing a class can set you back because of the high pace. But if you communicate with him, he'll help you catch back up.

I had Bro. Ricks for REL 351 and he is AMAZING!! He's super energetic and talks very passionately during his lectures, he clearly cares a lot about religion and is very knowledgeable on the subject. Has a lot of writing but if you put the essay next to the reading you get done really fast. Reading is entertaining and really fun because you get to learn about all the different religions. He is very energetic and makes you want to learn more about other religions beyond what is taught in class. Not hard at all.

This was a new course that he taught which was family history. He made the class a lot of fun and really cared about our progress in the class. Just weekly assigments and a final project in the class that you work on all semester.

I loved Bro. Ricks so much. His lectures are so inspiring and you will come closer to Christ through His class. Hmk was very minimal, and it is very easy to get an A. The biggest part of your grade from this class is if you read your scriptures 30 min every day. I got a B- cause this is something I really struggle with. Love him so much though.

I took his Teachings of the Book of Mormon class in Fall 2022, he shared personal stories and true doctrine, and always balanced bringing in the spirit with keeping the class awake for the morning class. I'd take any class from him, any time I have the opportunity to take a religion class from him I will. His classes do fill quickly.
