It was a pretty relaxed class. Mr Tran is cute and funny. He puts little comics on our handouts. His teaching methods are alright and he's helpful. Homework every week on webassign and a lot of group discussions.

Very chill guy. He really wants to help you. Sometimes he doesn't teach things that are mentioned in the homework, but the topics not mentioned are never in quizzes or tests.

He is the man with unexceptional math skills. His encyclopedic knowledge in math will make every thing simpler. In short,having him as professor will let you guys realize what 21st century is all about.

Danny is the Man! coolest dude on De Anza staff. Everything he explains is clear. Only negative thing is, if you're a visual learning it might be a little confusing. But if you tell him to write it on the board he will. He makes Stats really interesting and even adds sports into the mix. Funny guy and you'll love his class.

Danny is a really chill and friendly guy. He does his best to explain the concepts, but it can sometimes be a bit hard to follow if it is your first time learning trig. Midterms can be tricky since the force you to think outside the box. Although it's not the easiest class, you WILL learn.

This class under Danny's instruction is meant for those who are naturally great at math. He makes you work on problems before explaining solutions, which was really ineffective for me because he rushed through the explanations based on the assumption that your group had figured it out. He's great at teaching one-on-one, though, so ask for help!

This guy really cares about his students and puts extra effort into making sure we have a lot of resources. The online text book kind of sucks but the best part about the class is that he encourages group study which I HIGHLY recommend for this Stats class. He's funny and tries to make Statistics as fun as possible. Highly Recommended!

He's really nice, and will help any student who needs his extra time, even outside office hours. tests are strongly based on homework, which are online => not so hard. He's funny, playful, thinks and talks like students => many like him. TEXTBOOK IS FREE

The grades are distributed among all assignments, heavier on the exams and final. Notes will be allow depending on the difficulty of the exam/final. HW is online, very comprehensive and the text book is free, also online. Quizzes are in groups. Danny uses pp to lecture. You don't have to jot down much b/c he will give u the notes. easy enough?

Danny does a wonderful job explaining all the concepts. He takes the time to make sure we understand and always has office hours for additional help. He's also pretty funny and makes class lectures interesting. Tests can be a bit tricky, but as long as you do the homework and review class notes, classwork, you should do fine.

You don't need to buy a text book since it will be for free. He is a great teacher but, he is hard to understand at time b/c the hw and quizes/exams do not relate. If you are looking for an easy A do not take him, but unless you do all the work, attend his office hours and the tutorial center you will do great

Such a good math teacher, especially with as challenging a subject as math. The homework and tests are more challenging than the examples in class, but he is always telling you to ask for help if you need!!!

Great teacher but very challenging. He is very helpful, smart, and funny. Gives you notes and you fill in spaces, practice tests, can use small notecard on tests, pretty much everything you need to succeed. I dropped his class in fear of not doing well enough to my standards, but if you study well, go to class, and ask questions, you'll do great.

Tran is a very good teacher, he shows every major concept inclass on the board, but the homework uses an online system that can be a bit flaky. Fortunately homework was optional, if you didn't do it then your final would be a larger % of the grade. Tests are reasonable, and he doesn't throw in anything he didn't go over in class. No accent either.

Best math teacher ever. Funny and charismatic, and explains things really thoroughly. Textbook is unnecessary and available online for free. Homework is online but optional- he'll add the percent to your final grade. You MUST pay attention in class, but you don't need the homework to do well at all. All in all a great teacher.

Danny was one of the best math teachers I have had in my whole life. He makes sure everyone one of his students understands the material. There are pop quizzes which are only used to mandate attendance and the questions are so he can get to know you personally. All the quizzes are group quizzes and reviews for tests/finals really well. I Recommend!

Danny is one of the best teachers you can have at DeAnza College. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed and will do anything within his power to help his students. That being said he is not an easy grader, and just in its own right, calculus is a hard subject. If you do your homework every day it should be no problem.

At first I was so confused when taking his class and worried that I will fail. I wasn't used to group testing, which drag my grades in class. But after a week or so, I start to get use to it, and I ace every hw assignment, which helps a lot in his weekly quiz!!!!! And I got A+ from his class!!! From introduction of statistic, definitely take him!!!

Professor Danny Tran is definitely the greatest, and most helpful teacher I've ever met in De Anza. His class may not be easy, but if you work really hard for his class, you will do well. I did not take any classes with him, but when I was in the math center he really made me and my friends feel better about math. When there is something you do not know about about a particular section in math he instantly covers it up. Ever since then my interest in math went up in the past 12 years.

I took Danny for 212 and for 114. He is just simple THE BEST! You need to put effort into the class like any other class, but his explanations are GREAT! I love math even more cuz of him. Danny is hands down the best teacher that you can have for math. His lectures, his organization and his willing to help students is the best I've had since I took him. All other math teacher have one of these aspects missing, and you can really tell the difference after you've taken Danny. Study hard for exams, they're tough, but fair.

I took Danny for 42 over the summer and really enjoyed his class! Math for two hours everyday did not sound appealing, but Danny finds a way to make math fun. I LOVE Danny Tran!! He's the best math teacher ever! If you get the chance, TAKE HIM! Homework (online) every week but all of them are very helpful for the tests. He is a great teacher that really enjoys teaching. He has worksheets that really help you understand the concepts. He allows you to have an index card of notes for tests. His tests are are the harder side but are fair.

Young and cool. Use online book and homework. He makes note handouts for his lectures, they're easy to understand. We have group quizzes, wasn't really something I like but you get to change partners until you find the one that work for you. They seem hard but the tests become easier. Group project at the end of the quarter. Great teacher overall.

I DON'T like math but Danny made stats easy to learn. Tests are similar to reviews and lecture, and he is very helpful during class, reviews and office hours. Would definitely take for math 11 if he taught it

Professor Tran is fantastic! I had him for Math 1A and for Introductory Statistics, and was able to very easily understand the material thanks to his lecturing. He is very understanding, and always answers questions in a comprehensive manner. He also gives many opportunities to receive extra credit on exams to the class. I HIGHLY recommend Danny!

His tests were very tough, the toughest I've had in my life. They have no multiple choice, and the reason why they are hard is bcuz he allows a cheat sheetcard. The homework on web assign does not help much for his midtermsfinal, but rather the material seen in class. I would avoid him due to the level of difficulty. He is, however, a nice guy.

Wonderful teacher. All the people that say he's not clear or helpful obviously haven't taken the time to attend his office hours and ask for help. The lecture notes he provides are really helpful and it's pretty clear what will be on the group quizzes and exams. The only thing stopping you from getting an A is yourself really.

I took Danny Tran for the entire Precalculus series. He is very funny and one of the best professor that i took at De Anza. He goes pretty fast in some of the lectures and skips some steps so don't be afraid to ask questions. Make sure to do the exam reviews because his test are way harder than his quizzes.

Lectures are very straight forward and easy to understand. Hes the most helpful professor I ever had and really does care if you understand the material or not. You still have to work for your grade but an A is very attainable. Take him!

Probably the best math instructor at De Anza. Assignments are on Webassign and you got 5 attempts for each question. Class was organized and lectures were super clear! He gave samples tests before each exam. There are extra credit opportunities as well. Overall, easy A if you pay attention in class and study before exams.

Danny is one of the most helpful professors on campus, he still offers to help after taking his classes. He knows what he's talking about so there's no confusion with the students. Many professors like to teach right on board, but he sends us notes ahead of time and we bring to class and fill it out along with him, which is very useful.

He is super organised & makes sure he covers everything on time before finals. He is a great teacher and he clearly knows his stuff. Also, he's super nice and genuinely cares about his student. It's fairly easy to score a high grade in his class if you actually work hard and study. Students score badly because they're just plain lazy lol. Take him!

Danny Tran is a very good instructor however I think the time for me is kind of fast because I am not used to the quarter system as much as I am to the semester system

I never wrote ratings for any professors, but Danny is such a nice prof that I just HAVE to write one! He really cares about his students, and he's very patient when you ask him questions. You do need to work for that good grade though, just be sure to do all the assignments and you'll be able to pass with at least a B.

One of the best Calculus teachers at De Anza. Calculus is challenging. Period. If you don't study and do a TON of practice, you WON'T pass, no matter who you take. With that said, Professor Tran is probably one of the most understanding, best articulated, and interesting teacher for the subject. But with CALC 99% is still STUDYING!!

Danny was a great professor. His teaching structure is very clear and is there to help you. He offers group quizzes. His tests can be tricky and hard. He does offer extra credit for exams though.

Stats is a pretty easy class, just read over the lecture notes and review from the study guide and you'll be fine. Prof. Trans very clear in terms of lecturing. In addition, he always finishes grading early while he responds to all of his emails very quickly. Overall he's a pretty good teacher.

Best teacher ever. He posts grades every week so that you can see how you are doing in his class. Drop the lowest homework, lowest quiz, and lowest exam. A lot of extra credit on some exams and even final so you can get over 100 pts if you understand his clear lectures. Quiz in group. Notes on exams. I only need 80/150 to get A on final.

I took Danny' s pre-calc class starting from pre-calc 1 and I don't think I have ever met a professor as caring and as great as professor Tran. He tries his best to make sure concepts are making sense to his students, by devoting his time to help. If there were more math teachers like Danny, then students may not have a strong hate towards math.

Studying abroad, I'm fresh and freaking out at math. Take him, I dont need to worry anymore. His lecture is clear. He shows you all the step you need. In quiz or exam, you need to notice definitions, he will ask you "what is ... ?". They take a lot of my points. If you're not good at math, go to his office hours. Work hard, test's not easy!

Most patient professor I've ever met. Wants you to learn the material well as long as YOU go to him during office hours. His class is well organized and he teaches the material well. I took him 41-43 and I've never been more glad to take him. It will require some work but if you're a lazy ass then don't take his class.

I've never written a review for a teacher but Danny definitely deserves one! I've taken him twice and he is by far my favorite professors. I dread math but Danny was so helpful and clear with his lectures that he made it enjoyable. Show up to class, take notes, and do your homework! You will easily be able to pass his quizzes and tests then.

I really live Danny Tran. For me he is the best Math teacher. His lectures are simple and great. Follow all the notes and you will get at least a B. Do all the HW and pay attention in class. I grew up hating math, later enjoyed Algebra, and now because of Danny I love stats! Not trying to turn this into a Dr. Phil show, but Danny makes his lectures super fun and pushes your comfort zone. Lectures on the fast side but was the most helpful and responsive prof i've had. answered all my email and webassign questions almost immediately and still helps me with my current math class in office hours even after i've finished the class. would take him again if i saw him on the schedule

The best math teacher I've taken. Exam questions may appear difficult at first, but once you overcome that learning curve, his class WILL excell your mathematical abilities. Wouldnt recommend this class to ANYONE but to those who are willing to spend the extra time to not only just learn but to refine their mathematics. Great for mathscience majors

Danny's lectures are a bit fast paced to retain information but he is amazing at answering all your questions inside and outside of class. He is quick to reply to all your questions via email which helped me a lot. As long as you put in the time to complete your homework every week, the quizzes and exams will not be so difficult for you.

If you know you can work hard meaning show up to class every day, submit homework on time + study well, then take Danny's class. He will not let you down. Exams are hard, however, if you make the effort to understand his lecture notes, classwork + homework, you will do more than just well. Very easy person to approach and always willing to help!!

With paper assignments and additional online homework needed to be done, Mr. Tran needs to handle the subject in a timely manner. As many students have stated how quickly he reads the information, I felt that he should revamp the way he teaches Algebra. Even though the subject is difficult to some, his class is a hit.

Danny is one of the best lecturer. Be ready to work hard cuz he assigns tons of tests, Quizes and homeworks. Easy A If you work hard and do the webassign. His tests is always easier than webassign and lecture.

I took him for 42 and 43 without having any knowledge of math. Now after 6 months, my power is math. He is fair and nice. He is very pationt and always there to answer your questions. Many many many homework, classwork and quizes

Took math 114 during the summer. He gives TONS of extra credit. If you are a B-C student that does the EC you could probably get an A. He's really kind and wants his students to succeed.

Danny is so nice, and he takes so much time to make sure that students understand the material. He's always willing to help, and he never goes ahead without making sure that everyone is comfortable with moving on. I'm taking him next quarter, and I highly recommend you all do too!

Best math prof. ever! He goes around and helps with questions before class starts. Lectures are easy understanding. Homework is easy. One lab per week, basically just practice with real data and wrap up the week. The only downside is you have to print out lecture notes for each chapter, so get your papers and inks ready.

Amazing Professor. He goes above and beyond to help his students understand the material. However, There is a lot of homework and in class effort required to earn an A in his class.

Second time taking Danny, and as always I love taking his class. He takes the time to go over everything, and anything if you don't understand the material and he is super easy to reach if you need the extra help. He gives you so many extra credit options, and all of the tests/quizzes are what you see in class notes and the homework!

He explains everything so well in his lectures you will never be confused. His class follows a set schedule for group quizzes and exams (which are extremely easy if you do the cw and hw). He gives the best lecture any math teacher could possibly ever provide. He is nice and good at explaining step by step. you have group quiz for 2 weeks then individual test the next week and then another 2 group quizzes and so on. You can choose to do homework on either WebAssign online or physical textbook. You do have to do homework. Take him.

Taking Danny for online Stats. I'm NOT a math person at all but this class is an easy A+ so long as you watch the recorded lecture videos, do the assignments, and dedicate a few hours of attention to it a week. It's online and he lets you use your resources. For summer session it was 2 chapters (lecture vid/ Webassignment each) + 1 quiz a week.

Danny is honestly the best of best! During these difficult time, he puts lots of time and effort into his lectures. He replies to all emails fast and is very very clear with everything. His lectures are easy to understand. Honestly the best teacher I have ever taken in De Anza! Sad that he doesnt teach any calculus except for 1A.

I struggled with math most of the time, but taking this class really strengthened my math skills. Professor Tran takes time into teaching his students and making sure they get the help they need to succeed. Homework is all done on WebAssign and they're pretty straightforward, just make sure to read the book and watch his lectures.

Pretty good teacher. We didn't have any meetings, but he did have office hours if we need help. What was a bit difficult was understanding the homework, their would be some stuff that wasn't really explained in his lecture videos. You also have 2(about 16 in total) chapter to finish as homework every 2 weeks, along with a quiz.

Well organized. Always respond within an hour (Believe me or not he even reply my midnight emails! The most friendly prof ever) Always willing to help. Very organized lecture videos. Easy grading rules, as long as you do your hw and quizzes you are totally A.

Everything is on webassign but he only gives 5 tries for hw and 2 for quizzes, I always mess up on sig fig and result in getting the problem wrong. So imagine only 2 tries for quizzes. 1 chapter of hw takes me about 3-4 hours. wouldn't recommend if you guys are trying to get an easy A. LOTTSSS OF WORK. Dont take if you have another hard class.

I'm taking him for math10 and he is a great lecturer, always has office hours, and responds to emails quickly. Yet with math1b, he didn't have notes breaking down the material and just recorded videos of him reading the chapters. Hw is due every friday, quiz every Monday, and 2 tests and 1 exam. All points accummalated. Teaching soso,but caresalot

Took Prof Tran back in Fall of 2020 online. He went out of his way to give extensions on some assignments due to a lot of personal issues I was going through at the time. He also responds to emails insanely fast which is such a nice thing for a professor to have. Very generous with homework and quizzes. Study a bit each day and you will be golden!

This class was pretty fair. Weekly homework on two lessons and you get 5 tries on each question. Due on Fridays. Weekly quizzes due on Mondays and you get 2 tries. 1 midterm and 1 final. They were really easy but you get 1 try. Nothing was timed or proctored. As long as you watch lectures and do your work you're good. Easy A.

the best teacher I could hope for for a math class. answer s emails and helps very quickly, if you attend the office hours, he explains every single step of the homework. the final is exactly like the homework, so make sure to take notes. for me, the office hours were more helpful than the book or lecture videos. Mr. Tran is the most kind and patient professor ever! He carefully reviews the homework in class so as long as you attend class, you have less than 1hr of hw afterward. Next, he would even respond to my hw questions at 9pm within 10 min. He's very dedicated and will help you. Lastly, his labs and projects are difficult so be sure to work in teams

Fairly easy-to-follow lectures (pre-recorded videos) . Time management! Homework can be long and expectations are to watch lectures before class (30 mins-1 hr each). Exams are pretty difficult with only 1 submission per question. It is almost exactly the same as previous homework /quizzes, so look back and review those. Overall not a bad class.

I love his teaching style. All his quizzes and final exam come from his lecture notes and practice problems directly!!! He uploaded all his notes and lecture videos on canvas in first week. Attend his lecture and take note every class, you will be succeed.

NICE PROFESSOR!!! There are 4 quizzes, 2 midterms, and 1 final in this quarter. He adds 2 points for each quiz and 4 points for each midterm. Review your notes and watch his lecture videos. It is easy to achieve a score close to or even above the perfect score. If you do well on the final, he will drop the lowest score.

Easy final. You can prepare two cheat sheets for the final. It is very similar to the practice final problems.

Amazing, detailed lectures. Shows step by step for everything. Will stop and explain something if u are confused. His lecture videos and practice problems are very helpful for the quizzes and exams.

Danny is the best professor I ever had!!! I love his Canvas homepage. I only spent 2 weeks watching all his 12 chapters videos, I could complete all his webassign homework and quizzes without any difficulty.

Strongly recommend. Danny really cares about his students and really want to see every student succeed. Quizzes and exam are similar to his lecture notes.

Danny is a fair grader. I put in a lot of effort to complete my final lab, showing all my work step by step. He not only gave me full points but also gave me some extra points!!! He is the best professor I've ever had!

Danny is definitely one of the best professors that I have had so far at De Anza. I started tutoring intro stats after this course, and now I'm doing my master in BA, his class helped me out until this day.

His great teaching has truly motivated us. Review the lecture videos before the class. Read the scanned lecture notes carefully, which considered all about our understanding. I got the highest score easily for term project because of extra credits. If you want to learn this course well, highly recommended!

This professor teaches statistics almost every quarter. His lectures are super clear and well-organized. The most challenging but meaningful thing in this course would be the final project. You should really understand the materials that he taught in class. Overall, he is the best choice if you really want to learn statistics instead of a free A.

Even though it was lecture-based, he was very clear. He gives great examples which help with projects and exams, and never gives a question on an exam that you have not seen before. Gives so much free credit as well. He shows enthusiasm about what he is teaching every time!

Danny really helped me get over my anxiety of college. I feel so much more confident in math thanks in part by his amazing lectures. His lectures are just extremely engaging and helpful.

Best teacher I ever had was very helpful. After failing stats the first time and been scared to retake it I can say he helped me so much with every question that I had. Some homework questions may be tricky. Do your homework, study the practice problems and you should be okay with passing your test.

A lot of HW especially near the end of the quarter. I suggest u finish all your homework as early as possible.

I haven't been in school in 14 years. Math was my worst subject when I was in school. He actually made Math fun and easy to learn! A very engaging, patient, and knowledgeable instructor. I actually consider Math, at least Statistics, one of my favorite subjects now!

Professor Tran is great at teaching, he goes into details and make learning fun, I really enjoyed his class and I really appreciate how he takes time responding to comment on Cengage and quick with resolving problems we have like not being able to access the homework he would extend it, I would definitely take professor Tran's class again!!

I took Danny's Math 10 and Math 32. He is passionate about teaching. He has clear handwritten lecture notes and is very good at explaining concepts. All quizzes and exams are very similar to the practice problems and lecture notes. He also dropped my lowest quiz and exam. The only disadvantage is that there is a lot of homework.

Danny is an exceptional professor. There is a lot of homework in the class, but if you stay on top of it, it won't be an issue. Plus, all of the repetition is helpful in learning! Exams and projects are straightforward, and he is more than willing to help you if you have questions. Lots of ex cred too! I cannot recommend him enough. Take his class!

prof danny tran is amazing!! offers u extra credit for showing up to class ! he gives u hints on what the tests would be about and provides practice problems for each chapter and practice finals/midterms. he does assign 2 labs in the quarter, one term project, and weekly hw but it's honestly all super doable and he's super willing to help.

Took Danny's honors class a few years ago. He is still one of my favorite math professors. He is an excellent lecturer and always willing to help his students. He graduated from Harvard University and generously wrote me a recommendation letter. Absolutely recommend!

Amazing guy

Only 1 midterm in summer quarter. I missed the midterm exam because I misread the due date, but he replaced it with the final exam percentage. As long as you do your homework and somewhat pay attention to his lectures, you should pass easily!

Danny's MATH10 class is excellent. The coursework is manageable, and his lectures are engaging. I found unstuck AI and the practice problems very helpful for exam prep. Overall, a great class that makes math approachable, even for those who struggle with the subject.

His lectures and tests are very straightforward. He lectures basically gives you an example, and then you go to the whiteboard to solve very similar problems. He always finishes the class and lets us go early. His tests follow the same format as the lecture notes. Overall, he is good.

MATH10 consisted on chapter questions every week, 2 labs, 3 quizzes, and 2 exams. I struggled a lot in the class but he was very nice and helped answer my questions during class, after class, and through emails. His examples/study guides were the same as the exams, and he was also really funny. In the end he was a pretty hard teacher but caring.

Professor Tran is the best statistics professor I could have asked for. He offers plenty of extra credit opportunities,which is incredibly helpful,and he's always willing to assist if you need help or clarification.What I appreciated most is that his quizzes and tests closely align with the exercises we practice in class, so you feel well-prepared.

Danny is one of the best professors I've ever met. He truly cares about his students, provides quick, thoughtful feedback, and is always kind. I learned so much from his class, not just about Stats. Professor Tran was super helpful tbh. He responds to all emails very quickly and gives detailed responses. Easy class but the software we used for homework and exams did get quite annoying, but it is manageable. I had a 92% which was an A- but he kindly rounded it to a A. Danny is genuinely a great teacher, and he cares for his students. There's only a digital textbook, which we have to buy to do our homework. You can ask any question in class or out of class. There were four quizzes and four tests, and he let us use a page of notes. He connects math to real-world problems, connecting you to the content.

Amazing professor! He was always down to talk to students and gave great feedback. The class is pretty easy if you learn to self-study for at least 3 - 4 hours a week. He was really outgoing and kind professor, but never did too much, and supported all his students well. Don't be afraid to ask for help, he's seriously really kind and smart!

Good lecturer. Quiz & exam questions are exactly the same as the lecture notes. WebAssign HW is a little annoying but manageable. Clicking Practice Another or using Chegg can be helpful. Extra credit is given for every exam and exam review. Math is not my strong point, but you will do well if you take notes and solve problems on the whiteboard.

Super caring and sweet professor!! Really patient and will answer any questions you have. Super punctual and organized, grades fast, and responds fast! Offers tons of extra credit! Only thing is he is a tough grader so be sure to check over your work and put as many details. 2 quizzes, 2 midterms, 1 final, 2 projects and 1 term project. Take him!
