I took this guys class last summer and thought he was great. He's very interested in seeing that his students do well and does what he can to help you through. He's one of my fav. professors ever. Also, this guy is smokin' hot

Great instructor; he knows his math but sometimes he could get edgy when you ask him questions during lectures. His test are not as bad unless you didn't do your studying. Mr. Vo is pretty good looking for an instructor ;)

Pros: His teaching style consisted of lectures, stories, and wild scenarios. He will also work with you if you do not understand something covered in class. Cons: I wish my other teachers were more like this one!

I was dreading math as I hadn't taken it since 1989, but he made it easy to understand and an interesting class. He moves quite quickly so you need to keep up and do the homework. His exams are straight from the homework assignments. I loved him as an instructor!

Very good. All he cares about is math. He relates everything in the world to math. Ex: He thinks the comic "x-men" should be "men-x." What a nerd. Though, I feel that's an ideal quality for a math teach to possess. Very excited about math. Always saying, "this is really cool,right." Very thourough. Wants you understand. Homework. i never had an A in a math class until mr. vo and im not a math person, i hate math and dread math class, but i had an A THE WHOLE YEAR, his corny jokes keep you awake and he really wants his students to succeed but it can sometimes be hard to understand him because of his accent, but its cute hes also very good looking if i must say so=]

He's young and very enthusiastic about math. You can ask him anything you are confused about and he will explain it from every angle. I took him a year ago and he is still one of my favorite teacher. He is very involved with students.

I always had trouble with math until I took Alegebra with Mr. Vo He is an excellent teacher. Fun and motivating. I would highly recommend him.

TAKE HIM! I have had many problems with bad math teachers, he is great. Attend not required, but he expects you to know the lecture and you MUST for the tests. Tests usually 10 questions, easy grader. He makes math FUN, very very high energy. If you have ever had trouble with Math, take him. He has an accent, but not strong.

Enjoyable teacher. I'm not the best in math, but was able to get by. Lots of homework, but if u do it, then your grade will be better. He is funny & u can tell he enjoys teaching. Always willing to help & answer questions on h.w @ the start of class. If u do the H.W, u will do well on the tests.

He is a really good teacher. He is watching our eyes during the class to know if we understand or not. He has a passion of teaching math, and He gives funny examples which helps understanding of idea of each chapter. if you do your homework and follow his guide you will get 'A'.

hands down the best math teacher ive had in MY LIFE. He explains everything amazingly well. He gives homework but doesnt grade based on if the answer r correct or not, just checks to see if its done. For the exams hell go over everything and allows notes.PLUS he is very leanient and if u miss a few assignments wont mark u down. EASY A

He is a pretty chill instructor. He tries to be funny, but sometimes fails at it (which is funny). He relates a lot of things to Vietnam and talks a lot about beer in examples, but its entertaining. Overall, he is a great instructor.

Mr. Vo is awesome but sometimes I can't guess his mood. He looks mad sometimes and then he's happy. Class grading is fair and he grades tests on curves if the class didn't perform so well or offers a chance to make up the test. Clarity can suffer sometimes but study and you'll get the point. High recommend him.

Great instructor.... tries and usually does make math interesting. Very easy to talk to and very helpful, he will keep going until you get it with no judgments. He is AWESOME!! If you have to take Algebra and you doooo I advise taking his class.

He uses great real world examples, which help students understand the concepts. Sometimes, he is hard to understand, but if you ask him questions, then he clears up any confusion. He does push lectures hard sometimes, but that's more the school curriculum's fault. There's too much to cover. I would take him for all my Math if I could!

omg!!! hes H-O-T!!!! Sometimes its hard to understand him because he has a heavy accent. Tests are pretty much self explanatory. You either know it or you dont. If you do the homework, you got it made.

He's a good professor, and interested in helping students succeed. His accent can be a little challenging at times. We had one extremely challenging test that the whole class did poorly on. He allowed us to make corrections to regain up to half of our missed points. Challenging, but generous in opportunities to improve your grade.

I was never a math person but because of him, I am very interested in math now. Too bad he's not teaching any calculus classes next semester. Great teacher. I got a C as the grade on his Math 840 Class. Reason of what because i think the grading system is not fair so he lower everything by 5% ex(A = 85-95%) Teacher has a clear most of the time

Although Vo has an accent, his theories were self-explanatory on the board, he's understanding, funny, and very thorough with his teachings. I highly recommend this teacher, but attendance, taking notes, and doing the homework is the key to succeeding this class.

Professor Vo is a great math instructor. I love this class because he does have sense of humor and he explains the lecture very very well. He gave out examples to every problem, tying to the real world problems. He also knows where particular problem comes from and why we solved it the way we did. Love his class, and he is an easy instructor. :-)

This class was amazing, I will truly miss it. Danny Vo is a great instructor. The material at first was plain, but he covers it from start to end. Sometimes he will even tell you story's relating to it. Show up to class and he will tell you what is on the exams. Homework was odds so you can "check your work". Drops your lowest test score.

Amazing instructor! Explains material very clear, however some topics are a little bit hard to understand at first sight. All you need is to do your homework for every class so you won't be left behind. He has a very cute accent and makes students build very good associations in their heads. ADVISE: DON'T TAKE MATH IN SUMMER IF IT'S YOUR MAJOR!

Professor Vo is the only math professor i have taken that i don't struggle to fall asleep during his lectures. By far my favorite Math teacher on campus. He doesn't mess around though, so if you don't keep up on homework, you are going to get lost quickly. He is so funny and odd and full of energy, its addicting.

Mr. Vo is a great teacher, I think he can explain things in the best way to let you understand the problems. Not much homework, and beside the course, Mr. Vo is a kind and funny person, and he has charisma to me.

Great teacher, he is really helpful and I would love to take him again for math 60. Before starting the lecture of the day he helps you with homework questions. All the hard lectures he relates them to real life story's so you can have a better understanding.

I'm not sure sure about the others, but this is the dream professor! He breaks the material into doable pieces that makes you understand the homework problems. Tests are homework-based so just do it on a regular basis. Super helpful for my CS major since the major itself is hard. Also he is super handsome, cute and simply an eye candy! Love him! :)

Danny is my favorite Math instructor! Take him!!! Super clear, understanding, delivers complicated concepts in a talented way, clear grading. Do your homework - don't skip it - and you'll do perfectly fine. Sad that he doesn't teach Calculus II in Summer 2016! :( I really hope to have him for Math 130 next Spring if they'll allow him to teach it.3

Very funny and explains things well. Gives real-life examples so we can have a better understanding of the material. For summer, homework is due at the start and in the middle of the week, so you have more time to do it which is very helpful, especially for those who need to go to work. Overall a great teacher and I highly recommend.

Mr. Vo is awesome! He was very humorous and used many different perspectives to explain a common concept. He didn't torture us with hard work but rather just made sure we understood the concept. Great class!

Took him for summer. Danny loves teaching. He assigns online homework, which can be challenging, but worth a lot. Also, he uses good real life examples to explains things and really wants you to understand it. Sometimes he didn't finish the entire problem and that pissed me off a little, but other than that he is a great instructor! Recommended.

His quiz is similar to your homework questions... make sure to study your home work , take note( especially those key formulas) and practice the concept... this class the not easy for lazy students.

It's not my first semester with professor Vo and every time I take him, the professor just proves his patience with the students, great attitude towards the subject and demonstrates positive mood! MATH110B was the class I struggled most. It was insanely hard, but professor Vo will relief some pressure. It's also easy to make an appointment w/him!

This instructor is amazing! Friendly, passionate about the subject, approachable and always willing to answer any questions his students have. I have no idea why doesn't have 5.0 rating! He is the best guy to take for Math! WebAssign is mandatory and there's a lot of problems, so just take time and do them. Test are based on the homework and easy!

Danny is absolutely amazing. He is super cute and loves teaching. Fair tests and many chances on getting your homework right. Take him 100%. Show up to class on time and be respectful. I wish he taught all math classes. LOVE him.

Professor Vo is the BEST math teacher Ive ever had. He makes sure everyone in class is following along and if you're lost he will take the time to teach you unlike so many other teachers who just run through the course without caring if all of the students are understanding. 10 question exams, no textbook needed or online hw.

1 of the best and affable profs @ CCSF. He explains lessons well. Do not be too shy to ask him for help regarding HW or topics, HE WILL HELP YOU!

Explains everything above and beyond and is willing to re-explain to anyone who doesn't understand. Really tries to make it understandable to "common folk".

In general, he's a generous grader. Lectures can be somewhat intense because each class is only 50 minutes. Tests are based on the homework and the homework is on WebAssign. He's very open to explaining homework problems on the board.

Good news: he doesn't leave you behind. Bad news: his class moves slowly, and we didn't finish all of the material. Had to rush at the end. Online hw was easy enough. Prof Vo LOVES math and will make you excited about it. Lectures are engaging, you won't fall asleep. No cheat sheets allowed, but he grades fairly and tests are like hw.

hmwk is mostly on webassign and test questions r similar to hmwk so do it. on tests expect 4 or 5 questions like webassign hmwk and 1 or 2 questions that r more difficult. gives good idea of wat will be on test. he dropped the 3rd test for us. Final is 25% of grade w/ 6 questions from prev tests. lectures arent the clearest so ask Q's. take him! GL

Danny Is a great instructor. He really wants to make sure you understand everything you need to know to pass the class. He starts his class out doing home work questions - where he will go over the math problem your having trouble with completely until you understand it. He is also very funny and creates visual stories to remember math formulas.

Professor Vo is a great teacher. Most of the homework is online. He really wants to make sure every student understand his lecture. The tests are easy as long as you pay attention on his lecture and study well. I definitely recommend to take his class. I've learn a lot from him.

Danny was a good teacher overall. Some days his lectures were confusing and hard to follow, but most days they were clear and straightforward. He lectures from the book, so sometimes it may seem like he is jumping around. Very passionate. Clear and generous grading criteria. Tests are homework questions so keep up with the homework.

Best lecturer I've seen in my life. Great combination of logic, analogies, control, and geeking out on cool problems. The man's intensity sets the air on fire. Though, you have to ask questions, in class or afterwards, to clarify confusions or he'll leave you miles behind in 2 days. Always draw the problems out.

Even if his English is not that good. Give him a chance. Danny is caring and respectful to my classmates. If there is any trouble with homework, he will go over with it. Since he recently used Zoom for class, it can be hard. Just give him time to understand it.

All of the hw is done through webassign. Danny is one of my favorite professors that I've had at City College. I never had an issue understanding his accent, and he always pours his heart into lectures. My only complaint would be that sometimes he'll over-lecture on a topic.

I took Danny for Math 46 in Fall 19 and I have learn so much from his class. I like how he uses story to explain math which make his class interesting. Even though he has an accent which most instructor at CCSF have, I can still understand what he is saying. Attendance is mandatory because he does take roll at the beginning of semester.

Danny cares about his students understanding the material because during class, he always ask does anybody have any questions. Make sure you understand his lecture because his test is just what he covered in class. You just need the book to look at examples and do more problems since the homework is online. I definitely, take his class again.

He's very passionate about Math. I really liked his class & he is a memorable teacher. His lectures are energetic & he's very down-to-Earth. He can seem a little strict but very understand. Just watch your attendance & try to be on-time to class. He goes over things in a way that draws your focus back to the subject. Exams are straightforward.

If you struggle with math and cannot comprehend how and why a particular formula works, he will give multiple examples, mathematically and even using real-world examples. He's very lenient regarding homework and tests, adding extra time for both. I recommend you take his class.

He re-explains math concepts using real life examples for those who don't immediately grasp the subject. He goes over topics multiple times so if repetition is the way you learn, take his class. You can tell he loves his job which makes lectures easier to sit through. Weekly to biweekly hw of about 50-100 Q's, 3 quizzes and a final. Genuinely helps

Very passionate about math, and really cares about the students. You get 3 exams and 1 final. The lectures are helpful, but this class is also learning from a textbook and completing homework from the textbook. If you struggle to learn from a textbook, this class may not be for you. There is no TA to help with homework, not the easiest class.

Great professor for my trigonometry/pre-calculus class. Danny went into great lengths to explain all of the concepts in his lectures, including many anecdotes. We had a textbook, but accessed it through Cengage, as well as the online homework. Overall, we 4 exams- no quizzes. Grades were not updated regularly on Canvas, so be sure to ask.

Danny is the best math teacher i had, he gives lots of hw because he wants students to learn the material and he goes back to the lesson and chapters and review them for students to make sure we all understand. He gives lots of hw almost 100 questions a week but his tests and final have like 6-10 questions. i wish he teach 110B and C.

Gives lots of opportunities to do well in the class. Exams/quizzes are all really easy as long as you pay attention. If you can do the HW you're more than ready for the exams. 'Legit' cheat sheets are allowed on all exams and the final is just questions from past exams. Pretty open to questions too. As long as you do the work you'll get an A.

He is an amazing professor, explains well and will always helps. It is easy to get an A if you regularly do the homework and do well on the tests. He will give you sample before tests and exams and the exam and all will be based on the sample. He will take 3 tests and will count best 2 with 1 final. Attendance is mandatory.

Professor Vo is the sweetest professor I had so far. He is a genuine human being and is very approachable and caring. Yes his notes were messy but you get used to it and that's why it is really important to make clarifications and communicate with professor.

Danny is an engaging professor who breaks down complex concepts well. Attend class, do the homework, and utilize resources like the textbook and Unstuck ai - it'll make this course manageable and you'll likely earn a solid grade.

An amazing professor, I was worried that I would struggle in this math class considering it was a compression course of pre-calc and trig but Professor Vo made lectures so easy to understand. He uses a lot of stories to explain math concepts that would normally have intimidated or confused me.

I took this hybrid class in Fall 2024 after not doing much math for several years. Professor Vo made the material easy to understand, so I quickly adjusted! He tells a lot of anecdotes and analogies to help us visualize different mathematical relationships, which helped in Calc 1 unexpectedly. Exams are really easy if you prep a good cheat sheet!

This is my second class with Danny, and once again he did an amazing job. He has a genuine passion for math that comes through in his lectures and he strikes the perfect balance between expectation and practicality. If you put in the work, you will be well prepared for future classes. The Best!

Professor Vo is the best math teacher I've ever met in my life, he post sample tests and test solutions 2 weeks before the exam date and the exam are exactly like the sample, he's lectures are long and heavy but he would do hes best to make it fun and easy to understand. highly recommended
