Good teacher, explains everything very well, and is helpful if you need it. Tests are average. She is very fair.
She is my best science teacher ever. Sometimes her tests are difficult. However, if you study and listen to every single of her lecture, you won't get grade below a 'B'.
CHAMMAS IS A GREAT TEACHER. SHE IS PATIENT AND IS WILLING TO HELP YOU IF YOU NEED HELP. HER LECTURES ARE EASY TO FOLLOW. SHE'S GREAT.
Great teacher. Her lectures are easy to follow eventhough u never take science class before. All u need to do just study hard from her lecture. However, her lecture exams are a little bit confusing. A lot extra credits.
Good professor, very helpful, at times hard to understand but very nice. Listen to lectures and take lots of notes and you should pass.
very good class, u will learn alot. Leatures are good and tests r fair. Very beautiful accent.
TAKE HER SHES SO NICE!!!!
TAKE HER!!! She is so nice and a great help. She geneuinely cares for her students and wants to help them. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! It's a hard class, but soo good! She's the best teacher! MUST HAVE!
While she may be nice, cheerful, and an awesome teacher, her class is difficult! Everyone is failing, thanks to her tricky lecture exams! Give us a break!
She is the nicest teacher, she wants everyone to do well in her class, and it is a very hard class but only because it is a prerequisete for most medical majors, she is really nice, and sweet, shes never boring and she really cares about her students.
ms chammas is so sweet, and so nice. but importantly she is a great teacher, her class is not boring she makes it interesting, plus shes kinda cute
She is such a great professor who really cares for her students. The class is not easy, by any means. But it is definitely interesting. Study your notes EVERY DAY! Though I failed(because i didn't study) I plan on taking it over with her in the fall! :D
Mrs. Chammas is a great teacher. She quite helpful and really goes over the material real well. She always willing to take questions and really wants the class to past. Its a difficult course but you have to do your part! And yes she is pretty cute oh yeeaahh!!! =)
Best Teacher Ever!!! Take her, she is very fair and nice. Hard subject, but she tries to help everyone pass.
She's the best! Anatomy is a hard class but she makes it really easy for you to understand. Very nice accent, too.
This is not an easy subject to take over summer session. But she gives out lists of EXACTLY what will be covered on your exams, so you can't say you didn't know what to learn. Her practical exams are SPECIFIC, so study a LOT, and ask questions - she's wonderful if you show her you want to do well.
very hard course but great teacher!
Great teacher...study guide is important..study from there dont read the whole chapter...take important notes from her lecture..write everything she talked about in class..if can every single word, it will come out in the test..at first it was a struggle in second, third, etc you'll know the format
Keep up the good job Mrs. Chammas. I had a great experience at your class.
She's awesome. I'm not just saying that because she's ez... (trust me folks, 6 pages of study guide is not that easy), but because everything that she says is gonna be on the test WILL be on the test. You don't have to read the whole dang book, just study from the study guide. It's easy to get a "B" in her class, but not "A"...
I took the class on summer, and it's not that hard.....but if you take notes and learn what she is talking about in the class you can get a B, but don't expect the A unless she likes you.
She's a great teacher! She is clear about what she wants on the test. Her lectures and notes are exactly what she will put on her test. She is also very helpful and understanding....she is great. Whomever is looking for a teacher who is easy and clear should take her!!!
Professor Chammas was very nice and helpful throughout the whole course, she's quite funny too...if you have to take ANAT 25 I highly recommend taking her...
Shes really nice, and probably the least demanding of Anatomy bunch. She gives you a study list that contains about 97% of the items on the practical(visual) test. The written(multiple choice) tests are a little harder. Study and take advantage of lab time and you will do just fine.
i like her class. her class is easy if you really study! i recommend her if you'll take anatomy.
class is easy. not the easiest but an A is absolutely possible. do 3 things: listen to her lectures (more important than book), go to lab to memorize structures, read the book anyways (she appreciates it, and class will be much easier to follow). 8 tests = 4 lab tests (easier than written) + 4 written tests. no mid, no final. do take her!! =D
She is the sweetest teacher ever. For Anatomy, she's easy and her study guides are pretty much what's gonna be on the lab tests. I suggest you read the book to really understand and help you take the written tests. She's very helpful and will assist your every question. She's easy, but remember Anatomy is hard... so STUDY!!
Great professor. She teaches and loves the subject. You may have problems with her handwriting in slides.Plus the study sheet given is not the whole practical exam sometimes(usually 90%). She's not perfect. But she is very nice and will help you. She will always smile in class and has a great personality to make your class a great one.
Mrs. Chammas is a pretty good teacher. Her tests are hard and tricky and she doesn't give extra credit. She does not give out study guides and doesn't explain a lot in lab, but she is helpful if you have specific questions. There is a lot of material and it is hard so you must have enough study time or you won't do well.
The worst teacher at PCC.Do not take her class she is usless, her lectures are very poor
She is a great great teacher! Contrary to the previous entries, i found her lectures very informative, she does give a study guide - and she does give extra credit. There is a lot of information to learn in this class and Prof. Chammas is very helpful.
Take her class!!!!!!! I think you will love it...... i did.
i love her she is the best teacher, very smart she knows what she is teaching lectures are very helpful if you pay attention you will understand the physio. class is very active she always tries to engage students love her love her. she is smart, nice ..
Do not take her class. Wants to look smart than she is.Her lectures helpless and boring, tests are tricky.
She is the best teacher. She has a wonderful personality, very likable and very approachable. She is exremely SMART. I love her and love her teaching style.
A fabulous professor!!!!one of the best at pcc.I highly recommend her.
Great teacher, but hard class! studystudystudy! I wish she taught phys2B! I'd take her again.
she was a pretty good teacher. there was a lot of material covered and to be memorized. need to devote a lot of time toward studying. written tests were pretty tricky. i got a B in the class. i recommend taking her compared to the other anotomy teachers.
prof.chammas she is sooo cool and very helpful. made everything easy to understand and is very helpful. her exams are really easy 99.9% of what she has in her study guide will be in both the written and practical exams. i loved this class. i would highly recommend anyone to take her for anatomy or physio2a. shes the best!;]
I loved this teacher!she is greatt!!her study guides that she gave was very helpful on both practical and multiple choice...there is only 6 exams....and theres extra credit points on practicals...she is very sweet and very helpful!I would recommend this teacher to any1...but you have to have alot of time to study and go to the labs if you want an A
A teacher that shows her enthusiasm for the subject. She provides study guides that help a lot. Very engaged with her students and always ready to help. Her tests are straight forward for the most part. There can be some confusion on a few problems. But those are more of an anomaly than something to worry about. I highly recommend her.
Don't take this teacher unless you like watching someone drink coffee and eat chinese food. She doesn't spend enough time teaching and helping students and is always late to class. You'll need to spend a lot of time on your own and in study lab to pass this class. The extra credit is only 4 points out of 240 so don't think that it will help you.
Dr. Chammas didnt put much effort into the class in terms of helping students. She doesnt lecture much, most of the time she would just sit there and watch us observed the models cluelessly. And she doesn't even grade the practical exam herself. The TA did most of the jobs. I recommend Dr. Yuen or Dr. Borman, much more clear & helpful.
Professor Chammas is one of the best teachers at pasadena City College. I highly recommend her.
Professor Chammas is very helpfull, kind, patient and very approachable. i love her teaching style. she is always ready to help. Thank you Mrs. Chammas.
Part 2: ..and in the study lab because you are d * m b and can't understand her lectures! We know who you are, you are only sour graping because you wanted a A but didn't get it even you tried so hard to kiss * s s. Sorry but Prof Chamas doesn't work that way, she gives everyone what they deserve and you deserve a D ... for d * m b! :)
Part 1 :To all haters: What a lie! It's not only the teacher drinks coffee and eat but half the class as well because it's BREAK TIME. All the exam ques. were based on her lecs. She's ALWAYS available even after office hours to help and answer questions. It's not her fault you have to spend a lot of time on your own ...
Chammas was amazing! she is so cool and chill. she does not play favorites but if she likes the whole class it wont hurt. shes so gentle and helping. u guys have to ask her if u have a question. and she will do everything she can do to make sure u got it. take the MWF class and study as much as u can in the LAB. Anatomy is not easy. but she helps
Exams are easy if you take notes word for word. Just like what some people said, she is not helpful at all.
Expect to do much of the work yourself and/or use tutors. Chammas doesn't like higher level questions; she doesn't like strong personalities either. She shows her frustration and has little patience.
Study hard for your first practical. Pay attention to what she says during lab and lecture. Take notes. Bit of communication barrier but doable. Cute personality sense of humor and features. Very kind and nice. Lab work mostly reading textbook and studying models annoying but okay. Subject was interesting to me and i have a good memory so itwasgood
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST !!!!
Shes so sweet and funny. She really cares about her students she is very helpful. There are 8 test including practical tesst.Read the book and study her notes no homework. She gives out two page study guides for lab which is nothing compared to other physciology professors. Highly recommend.
really nice professor, and cares for her students. she makes anatomy and physiology so easy. and has an ease of explaining things to students. love her
Very sweet propessor, loved her! the class is hard though.
Not a very good teacher. She is hardly available in her office hours, brings her kids to lab, four times though. She does give a study guide but only one or two weeks before the test. Burres-jone makes it available since the first day of classes.
the best professor i ever had. her lectures are easy to follow and will take the time to explain things again. she really cares. plenty of lab time. attendance is important and it will boost ur grade. loved her!!!!
part 2: to explain anything to you. chammas would explain entire models to us if we asked her. not only answer our questions but tell us things we didn't even think to ask of that ended up being on the test AND she let us video record her doing that.shes not a mind reader and this is not high school. if u need help with a model its your job to ask
Worst professor I have taken...EVER! She is not prepared at all for class. If you think that reading off figure/tables from the textbook is great teaching then take her because that is all she does. Test are easy but sometimes she pulls some random short essay question. Overall I regret taking her. Now I know why her class was the only class open.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!
She is a nice person, but that doesn't mean she is a good teacher. All she does is read off figures from the book and stress to memorize them only to not have them be on the test, very unstructured class, not a good teacher, does not make her own tests, spends half of lecture going over a concept which she doesn't even put on the test
I took the 6 weeks Summer course and it was intense! The practical exam is ridiculous: 50 questions; 1.5 min- 2min per question. To get an A in this class, you need to be eager to gain all the informations you need. Chammas is a knowledgeable professor but you have to ask questions to learn from her.
I TOOK THIS CLASS IN 6 WEEKS'S SUMMER SECTION. If you want an A from her is impossible. Keeping changing the study guide, not organize well. You have to buy her coffee to please her. Not on time, just sit over there. Bored and learn nothing. Hard to get an A.No students want to take her class at all,she is not helpful, exam is very difficult.
WORSE PROFESSOR EVER IN PCC. LATE FOR CLASS, NOT ORGANIZED, NOT HELPFUL, TOUGH EXAMS.IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A C OR LOWER GRADE IN THIS CLASS, THEN YOU CAN TAKE HER. NEVER SHOW AND EXPLAIN ANYTHING FOR THE CLASS. NEVER USED HISTOLOGY TO EXPLAIN THE SLIDES. LAZY AND INTERESTED IN EATING AND COFFEE ONLY. VERY IMPRESSED WITH HER CLASS EVER.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!! She was very clear about what she expected. Pay attention to EVERYTHING she says because it's all on the exam. She gives you hints as far as what she'll ask on specific models for the practical. Very personable. Easy to approach. STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! As amazing as she is, you won't pass without studying! Take her!!
Lectures are detailed but she tells you what you need for exams. She does not post lectures online and has an accent. The class is challenging but she doesn't trick you, so read the book. If you need help, she is available for office hours and after labs, but she sometimes gets busy with her kids too so she may leave quickly.
I took professor Chammas' class in Fall 2014 and she is still the best professor I've ever had at PCC. She truly cares about each of her students and really cares about everyone improving throughout the class. she makes anatomy so easy and has an ease of explaining things to students. Overall, great and fun professor. She is so sweet and love her!
I took professor Chammas' class in Fall 2014 and i really enjoyed her class. She is still the best professor I've ever had at PCC. She truly cares about each of her students and really cares about everyone improving throughout the class. Overall, great and fun professor. She is so sweet and love her so much!
Would not recommend her class. Gotta bust your butt off just to get a decent grade. Only 30% of the stuff she talk about in lectures are on the actual exam while the other 70% are questions are basically the practical exam in word problems. Moral of the story: study the list of terms she give for the practical exam or you will fail for sure.
You MUST study to pass this class. Our class was full at the beginning of the semester and less than half of the students remained at the end of the semester. Only the strong survive. She gives out study guides that are clear. ALWAYS pay attention to anything she covers during lecture, it will be on the exam. Lectures are fun. Not for slackers!!
The Anatomy subject itself is a hard one. Professor Chammas is a great teacher, she is very kind and caring. Her grades consists of tests ONLY, NO HOMEWORK! Tips for succeeding in this class: 1.) Take notes, because they are on the lecture exam 2.) Study all diagrams that are in the chapters for the test 3.) DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. STUDY EVERY DAY
All the lecture portion of the test are based on her lectures, so attending class is your bet. You will need the book to learn the structures and histology. This teacher will answer questions, but doesn't hand hold. You must put forth the effort to earn your grade, which I love. Helped me learn and retain the information. Very sweet person.
ONE OF THE KINDEST AND MOST CARING PROFESSORS IVE HAD AT PCC! TESTS ARE STRAIGHT FORWARD IF YOU PUT THE TIME IN TO STUDY. BE THERE FOR LECTURE AND FOR LAB STAY TO STUDY! ALSO, MAKE A STUDY GROUP IT IS SO HELPFUL. TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT SHE IS VERY HELPFUL AND NICE. IF YOU STUDY AND PUT IN EFFORT YOU WILL GET AN A.
One of the best professors at PCC! Her tests are hard so you HAVE to study, like 8-10 hours a day type of studying. Attending class is a must because everything on part 2 of her test is what she teaches in class. Other than being one of the most difficult classes I've taken, I would recommend her!
CLASS IS REALLY BORING. SHE TALKS FOR AN HOUR THEN FOR THE REST OF THE CLASS, SHE'LL JUST SIT AND HAVE YOU DO YOUR OWN THING. TESTS ARE HARD. YOU HAVE TO REALLY DEPEND ON YOURSELF TO READ AND STUDY. YOU CAN SKIP CLASS AND PASS IF YOU READ AT HOME.
Worst professor I've ever had. Her texts are HARD and does nothing to narrow down study material. Expects you to study the entire book! If you want to pass you literally have to study 8hrs a day daily. She only grades on attendance and tests so if you do bad on one test you're screwed. Her tests are not really based on the lecture! awful
Professor Chammas for Anatomy 25 was pleasant. It took time to figure out how to prepare for her exams, but she gives you a study guide so you know exactly what to study for. Her exams consist of a half physical portion (lab) and half lecture (written) portion. You need to actually read some of the chapter before coming to lecture & class is cake.
Professor Chammas is a fantastic educator. Not only does she have a unique way of teaching information but, with her guidance and encouragement you can successfully pass this class. She made the material interesting while holding her class accountable for the outcome of their grades. I've never had to work so hard but it was worth it.
Professor Chammas is the most kind and lovely teacher I have never had. her unique teach method makes anatomy class become vivid and easy to follow. She do really hopes you will get good grade. She offer extra credit in the test . Her grading is pretty clear , tough test. you really need put a lot lot time effort on anatomy class and I got A
Prepare and study all the structures of human systems. A lot of memorizing but it is worth it! Take advantages of lab hours for questions and study the models.
Have never study this hard for school but still got a C on the test. Don't know why there are so many good reviews but she is the worst professor in PCC.
Professor Chammas is really nice as a professor and a really sweet person. She cares for her students a lot.
Really not good at explaining the subject and expects you to know everything. Tests are weighed heavily
The class is okay but she herself made it super difficult !
Really boring professor
Puzzled by the poor reviews. It's difficult if you're not willing to put in the effort. Anatomy isn't an easy course if you're looking for an easy A you should probably reconsider your major. Class was straight forward, Professor Chamas really cares for her students, she answers any questions& study guide was really helpful. No HW just 6 exams.
Professor Chammas is awesome ! She is caring, smart and the best teacher I have ever had.
I would not recomment this class that was hardest class I have ever done
I highly recommend Mrs Chammas. Anatomy is a hard topic, if you are looking for an easy A you should reconsider your major. However , Mrs Chammas does a lot to help her students do well. Thank you Chammas for a great class.
Professor Chammas was my favorite teacher ever! She is such a sweet and genuine human being! If you connect with her and actually ask her questions you will do alot better in the class. While the class over all is pretty difficult, lab hours are where you want to stay to get one on one questions answered by her and to study models she uses on tests
Dany came in late and this was on the FIRST day of school. She did not even send out an email prior to the first day of school which other professors do. Not only was she late, she presented herself with attitude. She demanded the waitlist people to leave immediately without even taking role which made no sense since some people could've dropped.
Avoid at all costs for your the sake of your well being
I loved Dany! Such a positive and amazing teacher.
I took this Professor recently! She is amazingly punctual and helps out a lot. Recommend her to anyone seeking to learn about anatomy. Though it is such a hard subject, she makes it easy to understand.
It's a 4 unit course; be ready to self study. Do not expect an easy A; it's a hard science. Professor Chammas is extremely knowledgeable not only in anatomy, but in other aspects as well. Tests: Every two weeks, theres an exam (1 practical, 1 multiple choice; 100 questions total, 10 extra credit per MC test). Also, she gives study guides!!
She was kind, you could tell she really wanted everyone to pass. However, it's really all up to you for the grade because it's based largely on how well you can memorize and how much! (alot of details and names). I'm good at memorization so it wasn't too bad but a lot of people struggled. Making flashcards on quizlet helped! Do not lag on studying!
Professor Chammas really cares that you do well in her class. Shes very lecture heavy, but she makes it so that anatomy is easy to follow and understand. There is no homework, just your grade based off of 6 tests. Always repeats important concepts until you get it. Very caring. One of my favorite profs Ive had at pcc.
Class Transitioned into online when campus closed. Absolute worse grading system EVER. Practice is crucial in order for anatomy to stick, yet theres no homework. Grade is based solely on 200pt exams, no EC, no participation points. Its a self-taught class. Your only chance to bring your grade up is to Ace each exam, based on lectures. Nope.
Mrs. Chammas is one of the great teachers at PCC. She is smart, kind and very helpful. Thank you Mrs. Chammas for a Job well done
Anatomy is a very hard subject. It requires long hours of study. If you want an A, you need to work hard. However, Mrs. Chammas explained everything clearly. I loved her lectures. Thank you Mrs. Chammas.
I read the reviews on here before taking her class thinking I would be okay. Don't take her class. I think she's using notes from 5 years ago when she started teaching, lecture notes and book do not sync , she is not computer savvy, very old school, and class is based on 6 exams. She tries to be helpful, but not really.
I was afraid of taking Anatomy because I heard that it is a tough course. However, Mrs. Chammas made it easy. She was very clear from day one about the course content, grading policy and what is expected from us. Her power point lectures are very helpful and from the book. She posted everything we need to know in canvas. Thank you Mrs. Chammas.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! Yeah all you need to do is 12 tests no homework what so ever but she will not give you a redo on test (nor gives extra credit) even if you and your family have covid and that your in pain with the symptoms of Covid which did happen to me. I am currently 5% away from getting a C and I can't get to a C bc of the 2 test I missed.
I've taken ANAT025 and Professor Chammas is a really sweet woman, though her class is DIFFICULT. She did not give homework at all, but PAY CLOSE attention to her lectures even though they aren't mandatory. The tests/exams are based on her lectures. If you got any questions for her, she will answer them via Zoom. Don't hesitate!
It's crazy how much you're basically self-studying. Lectures are non-mandatory and rightfully so, because all the professor does is read from her slides. She is nice but she does not really accommodate to her students requests and is also extremely unaccessible outside of class.
Im confident to say that Mrs. Chammas is my favorite professor. She is knowledgeable. She breaks complex topic making it understandable to regular students. The best teacher I ever had at PCC!
Anatomy is really hard! but professor Dany makes everything understandable. Professor Dany is really caring that if you have a question don't hesitate to ask. The test is heavy so you must really read the book and lectures. Her exam is based on lectures and books. Study hard so you will pass anatomy.
She's a nice woman. The class is only graded on 6 exams, which I really liked bec no busy work. She offers additional courseware for practice but it's not mandatory. She adds things in lectures that I didn't realize from just reading the book. Read the book, take notes, and listen to lectures and you're good.
I took a couple of anatomy classes with Professor Chammas years ago. She was a very inspirational Professor who helped me accomplish my dreams. I would highly recommend her.
Anatomy is a difficult course, but Mrs. Chammas made it easier to understand. She truly cares about her students, I struggled personally and she made accommodations. Still, no matter how nice and helpful your professor is, it will not change the difficulty of a class; you will still have to put in the work to do well in her class and read a lot.
She is a good professor. But prepare to study cause anatomy require a lot of memorization. There is total 6 exams and she gives you little extra credit questions on the exam. She grades 88.5% or more as a A. There's no homework so you have more time to focus on the exams. She answers all the question you have on lab class.
Do not take her course if you don't want to retake it. Very unhelpful and indifferent. Grades are based on 6 exams. Every two weeks you need to memorize 200 terms and what all the body parts look like. Her class is completely self-study, and all content is from the textbook. strongly discourage you from taking her class.
Professor Chammas was the best. Thank you professor Chammas
this class requires a lot of memorization and self study. Usually she will lecture for one hour and the rest of the time she gives you to group study and ask her questions. She is super encouraging and understanding. lets you make up exams. Grade consists of 6 exams and 2 discussions. She gives study guides that tells you exactly whats on the test
Great Instructor, your grade is based on your exams, few discussions, grading is done quickly so you are aware of your grade as you go, quick in responses, great lectures and tests are open book to help. Would take it again.
take her if u wanna be bald
Loved Professor Chammas. Anatomy 25 is a difficult class, period. She makes it the most accessible to learn and will bump up your grade if she sees consistent effort, even if you're at a 87 or 77, etc. So kind and so loving. Thank you Professor Chammas
Best professor I've ever had! She is super sweet, caring, and loves what she does. 6 exams total each with a lecture and practicum portion, 4 discussion posts, no homework. She gives study guides for each test. Anatomy is a hard class overall so be prepared to study if you want to pass. She is super helpful so ask all the questions you want.
