Nice guy! He has a thick accent, and material is kind of hard to understand. BUT, he helps you a lot. He wants you to learn. Grading system is unfair (if you make a mistake on questions from study guide, Double points are taken off.) Above all, good professor.

He is the easiest professor you will ever take. First of all, he gives you the study guide with all of the answers. If you study that, you get at least a B. All you have to do is attend class and study the study guide. If you want an A, you have to read the textbook. Great professor. Only negative, he keeps the class until late.

I echo what everyone else has said...only bad part was the whiny students who appearently didn't get enough of his generosity and wanted even more.

Danny is out of this world. Once you take his class, I promise you will not be disappointed. Wants students to step outside comfort zones, and think seriously about the issues he's talking about. Hysterically funny, plenty of fun there's not enough space here to describe how awesome he is. See him for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

It's hard to get mad, even when he gets political, because you end up liking him so much. It's good to hear about Islam from someone who is Muslim. He doesn't shy away from controversy. That's what makes his class one of the best on campus. He makes you think.

Dr. Doueiri is an excellent communicator. He is extremely funny and intelligent. He makes lecture simple and easy and mostly entertaining. He does not look like a terr as he portrayed himself at the start of the class. Good pianinst!!! This HUM class is superior than the other multi-cultural classes. Highly recommended. Best professor I've ever had. he is the reason I attend this university, the reason I switched my major to Arabic, and the reason I get to travel abroad on scholarship. But in no way am I unique. Awesome teacher makes everything so easy to understand and he has such passion teaching that its hard to not get into the subject as well. He always has such great energy and the class is never boring!

This class is easy if you show up everyday, as he will tell you whats on the test. He will also give out extra credit and a rare "pop quiz" (which is more your opinion than it is a quiz) when he sees a ton of people leave early or not show up. There are a couple test Q from the book, but I didn't even read it and got an A in the class. HIGHLY REC!

Doueiri is one of those professors that you know loves his job and his students. Very nice, very funny. His lectures are filled with information and humor. I find it hard to believe he receives anything less than a perfect rating. Hardly any homework, just reading. Two tests. One book. Easy, easy, easy.

Favorite class so far at CSUSB. Listen to his lectures and study a bit before exams and you'll do fine. I received an A. You have to put in some effort but it's nothing too strenuous.

Dr. Dany is an AMAZING instructor! He was funny and entertaining. His lectures were always interesting. He had online journals that were super easy to complete and a research paper that is easy as well if you do it you'll most likely get full points! Dr. Dany is really funny and makes class interesting, 2 exams worth about 40%, because the lectures are not common knowledge, so you better read some stuffs he given. Participation matters a lot, 20% of final grade. Overall ,it is easy class, 67%C-, 70%C, so easy to pass.

Best professor!! He is amazing, if you have the opportunity take his class you will learn a lot. He is one of the very few professor who really love what he does. Is not a total easy A class, but is really hard to fail or not to learn.

Very good instructor. Very hard to not learn. It changed my views of Islam and of Muslims. MUST read the material on blackboard to pass exams. His study guides are helpful. Tests you on dates, numbers, statistics, reading and lectures. Must be presence in lecture to answer some questions on the exam. Very nice guy. Would take again.

Overall easy class, with a great professor. Tests were fairly straightforward, and were based on the lectures and online reading material. The material wasn't hard to grasp, and the lectures were great. Highly recommended.

His lectures aren't really organized but 80% of what you need to know is on the study guide. Remember to watch/read all the material assigned and attend class. He picks questions from attendance quizzes and online material as well. Really funny and caring guy. Also gives extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Dany is soo amazing & hilarious! He is most def an unconventional professor, but does it in such a way that makes you actually want to go to his class. Professor Dany is awesome but his class lacks consistency. He is spread very thin so it is almost impossible to contact him outside of class. He was constantly flying out for different conferences, so often times we wold have guest speakers that would interfere with him covering all of the class material. The class is simple enough to pass though

He teaches the class from his own experience growing up as a Muslim, which is a plus. 2 exams, a research paper, and a field trip to one of the local Mosques are just a couple of things that must be done in order to pass.

We watched several clips, videos and movies to support the subject. 1 midterm, 1 final, non-cumulative. We took a field trip to a local Islamic center.

Professor Doueiri brings a lot of charisma and energy to every class session. Attendance quiz after every class. uploads a lot of content to read and watch on black board, go through all of it because 95% of the test is based on these articles. Overall it is an easy and fun class.

Offers 7 possible points for extra credit which i would recommend to do all points because it makes a difference from one letter grade to the other. The only difficult part of his course are the exams because if your not in class or don't look at the stuff on blackboard and read you wont do good. Other than that easy course but must attend class.

I enjoyed learning about something through a person that's experienced it first hand. Dr Doueiri will change your life and make the quarter less stressful. Exams are lecture heavy so as long as you attend you get an A.

Prof Doueri is the best professor to take here at CSUSB. He offers a ton of extra credit that is easy one we had to do was to eat at an ethnic restaurant. The class is graded by 2 exams, short video reflections, going to the mosque, attendance quizzes. He cares about his students and wants you to pass with an A as long as you communicate with him.

Dr. Doueiri is one of the best, he really cares, and make you enjoy his class. Be there in all of the classes, participate, do the homework, which they're easy, and you will pass. I took this class mainly for credit, and i was expecting I wouldnt like the class but I fell in love with it! Not only did he make it so interesting, the fact that he truly cared if his students passed was even better. I would, without a doubt, take his class again just to have him lecture.

Two modules due each week, Wednesdays and Saturday's, each module is a bit different. You take attendance quizzes and module quizzes but they aren't difficult. Highly recommend him

There are attendance quizzes (2-3 questions) and two modules every week (articles or videos and then you take a quiz) No final or midterm, only a project where you interview a Muslim. The class attendance wasnt mandatory but I insisted on making each session because I love the way he taught. He is hands down the best professor I have ever had. He cares so much about his students and makes the class so fun, it makes you want to participate. He definitely opened my eyes on what I didnt know about the Islam culture

The professor will post assignments twice a week with various of contents in order for you to learn about the Arabic culture. One thing to point out that some assignments include a lot of reading, however the stories are an easy read. Whether you take Arab 290 or another class, I highly recommend everyone to take him!

Professor Dany is amazing, he truly cares for his students. He is very flexible if you can't make it to class you can join his zoom link that way you don't miss out on anything. If you show up early and answer questions he gives out gift cards to amazon. He allows you to re-take tests as many times as needed. There is honestly no reason to fail.

One of the best professors here! He is very sweet and caring. Cares a lot about his students, easy to talk to, and very understanding. There were A.B, C, D on each module each week. Consisting of short quizzes and short assignments for the most part. One presentation. His assignments were actually interesting. Overall an easy class if you keep up.

Professor Doueiri is extremely caring and likeable. The class itself is not difficult, usually only consisting of some reading accompanied by short paragraphs or quizzes. The readings are very interesting (assuming your interested in the subject) and are quite varied in nature so that the class is never boring. Do the work and you'll get an A.

I had him for CAL 2970. He is so kind and so caring. He really wants to set his students up for success. This class is simple and enjoyable to take. I highly recommend him if you are a Lib Studies/Arts major. He knows the program like the back of his hand. He is also willing to support you when you struggle with other professors!

Note: Course was CAL 2970 (Fall 2024) Dr. Dany has such an enormous heart be sure to trust him with your life because he is so wise and patient with all of his students. Be sure to attend class and participate. There isn't any homework apart from a journal entry and the end of the class! Communicate :) he's great at getting back to us.
