He is a very good teacher. If you come to all of his classes and write your journals, you have an A. Highly recommended teacher!

Highly recomenadad, Best Teacher of Relegion, Knowledgable, Panctual, and very friendly attitude. I would not be bored if I take this class 10 times.... Most of his tests are home-take. No quizes or tests in class.

You have to write about 500 words of journal every week. 1 midterm and final take home exams,1 field trip and you have to write a report on it about 500 words also.

Whether you are Muslim or not this class is very easy and entertaining.. Prof Nassimi is very competent about his area of study and is a very nice guy, just attend class write your daily journals which are easy and you have 2 exams(midterm/final BOTH TAKE HOME!) and you will get an easy A.. class was really straight forward, he encourages questions

He is a new teacher, but he is great at teaching Islam. I have never been so interested in a class, until I took his class. It was an easy A, and the way he taught and explained the daily topics was very interesting. I never got bored in his class. A great class to learn about a religion.

Professor Nassimi is an amazing man! he is a wonderful teacher, he has taught me things where I actually apply to things outside of school, He is an easy going guy, Test are all take home, no quiz but there is homework. Overall take a class with this professor! He is a very good hearted man.

He's such a sweet professor that really helps you understand what Islam is all about. He will clear up any misconceptions people might have about the religion and help you gain a deeper understanding of Muslims and their religion. He answers all questions accurately and logically. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take his class, it's worth it!

I enjoy Professor Nassimi's lecture. His lectures are straight forward. He gives out Take-home exams because he doesn't believe in stressing a student out by giving in-class tests. The take home exams are very interesting and easy. Professor Nassimi will make you understand the deeper meaning of the religion. I wish I could take his class again!

Professor Nassimi is a wonderful instructor! He is able to answer any questions you may have not just for the class but in daily life situations as well. He has high knowledge of Islam and teaches students muslim/non-muslim. He has a passion to teach and will work with you if you are having trouble with anything.

Professor Nassimi really cares about exposing Islam in a positive light to students that aren't so familiar. GREAT TEACHER

Dr. Nassimi does a great job of teaching students about Islam as he is very engaging. I never expected to learn so much about Islam and the culture of Islam in just one semester. The class gave me accurate insight as well as useful information that I will be able to use in the future. Definitely recommend.

This is an enlightening course that will provide clarity of the student's understanding of Islam no matter their background. If you attend and do the weekly journal assignments there is no reason to not earn an A in the class. Classroom behavior is enforced and you will only embarrass yourself if you cannot control your tongue. Kind instructor.

Attendance is mandatory, but it is hard to get all of his information if you do not attend classes. I learned very much in this class and I would take it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

Amazing professor. Truly loves what he does and does everything within his capabilities to ensure that everybody succeeds. Attendance is mandatory, he gets angry if you don't go. This is because the class is so easy that you should at least show up for your A. Journal every week, one field trip where you have to present to the class and write a one paragraph "report". Take him, whether it is for the A for your requirements or to learn about Islam, you won't regret it.

Great introduction to the religion of Islam. If you want to learn about the religion, I highly recommend this class! It also counts as a Humanities credit. Very easy class, course material is well prepared, attendance is mandatory. This class makes you truly think and reflect the material to your life. Journals every week, and exams are take home!

He is by far the BEST professor at NOVA. even though he is Muslim he is NOT biased. which is nice to see. he is a good and kind man. just don't talk while he is talking, sleep, or share drinks. Attendance is MANDATORY! final exam and midterm are not multiple choice. they are open notes though. I wish there was an Islam level 2 class.

The prof was outstanding.I had no knowledge of Islam before this class but he presented a excellent overview of the beliefs, practices, history, culture, & controversies in an interesting, insightful & relevant way. We wrote short weekly journals about class. We visited a mosque & wrote about our experience & observations. Highly recommend.

Dr. Nassimi is one of the great professors in NOVA. He really wants you to learn. If you want to know about Islam, take REL 233 with him. You won't regret it.

Dr. Nassimi is not a common professor, Great personality- very respectful to everyone. Easy class- Must attend classes- most organized teacher I ever had- everything on PowerPoint . No stress in this class and if he teaches any class I would take him. Great guy only two tests- both take home- Class gets full soon, so take him now. You will love it

He is the BEST Very kind, understanding, and gentle. He is Muslim but doesn't take sides at all He has journals to do every week on Thursdays just write about what was discussed in class which is all on BB assignments and two take home tests one is midterm and one is final THAT IS ALL one presentation about visiting a mosque great experience

Professor nassimi is one of the nicest professor, if you do your work and participate in class you will pass!!! I would highly reccomend him but you have to do the work and dont skip class your grade will drop if you do so!

I would say this course was the best, in my two years at NVCC. This professor explains his point of view to the topic and accept others. I would recommend students to take this course with him. Please do show up in every class as it is taken seriously. Midterm & final are take home but you are required to explain in details. Best of luck!

He is a great professor.I recommend people to take his classhe has lots of knowledge but only when you ask him questions he does not answer very clear but that is okay because you can later ask your question in the journal for the week and he will answer you there You can also do some own accurateresearch on the Islam religion to find out more

Definitely not an easy A, I had to come to every class, take notes and even though exams are take home, they are extremly long and he reads them word for word, he takes his teaching as more than just a job, very passionate, he changed deadline of final cuz whole class asked him to, was an engineer for 16 years and quit to teach Islam. This professor has a PhD in Islam, he is absolutely AMAZING. I HIGHLY recommend him and this class, you will learn A LOT. His lectures are VERY interesting, you're assigned journals to reflect on what you learned in each lecture (very easy) all exams are take home, he is very caring knowledgeable and really respected by ALL students. Dr. Nassimi's class was amazing. I went in thinking I knew everything about Islam but Dr. Nassimi's course taught me new and insightful facts. He is very intelligent, caring and a wonderful professor/person. He also does a'lot for the community! I will definitely recommend this course for future students.

He is a very knowledgeable, unbiased, professional, very helpful, and a kind professor and person. His classes are consist of lectures that are very interesting that you don't want to miss a class. He provides the lecture notes and the "take home" exams and journals are based on those notes. He is the best professor I ever had!

Excellent teacher! Very organized. He is really big on attendance so don't miss the class. His talks are interesting and rarely boring. It sucks that he doesn't teach any other subjects. Oh yeah and there is a group project you have to go to the Masjid and observe the Muslims praying on Friday. Then present your project in front of class. Easy A+

I took Dr. Nassimi for Intro to Islam & he exceeded the expectations I had, especially coming from a non-Muslim background. He was truly inspirational and explained the material in way that wasn't down your throat. As long as you show up to class, listen during the lecture and take notes YOU WILL PASS. He is strict on attendance! I would take again

You will learn A LOT. Whether Muslim or non-Muslim. You have to pay attention and attend every class. The lecture is long. Each PowerPoint is dense with information, and for your weekly journals, you will have to look back on them. He is kind and understanding, yet strict. No phones. Not easy, but simple.

I could say the best professor I ever had! He is a very humble guy and treat you as his own kids.. To be honest, you will have to write SO MUCH in order to pass this class with a good grade. If you pay attention and come to each class, I bet that you won't have any issues! SHOW UP, PAY ATTENTION, and get A! SIMPLE AS THAT!

I strongly recommend this class to non-muslims because it's gonna be much easier for you to pass this class with an A than a muslim. The reason is that after every class he will ask you to write a reflection on his slides on what you have learned and thats a very easy work for non muslims because they gonna learn lot, so it's super easy for them.

Took his first 8-week class. We wrote journals of 300-500 words every week. Mid-term and Final is take home. Couple other assignments and that's it. If you need to take an Arts & Humanities elective. I suggest you take his class.

Professor Nassimi at first came off as a professor who would give lots of work but he gives you enough time to turn it in so if you're good at time management, you will be fine. He is a tough grader but he gives great feedback! He isn't extremely hard, just get interesting things learned from each powerpoint and write about it and you will pass.

There are just a few papers(4) needed for the course, but if you take the time to do well and follow directions you could get between an A or B. The lectures are easy to understand, and Prof is able to answer any questions you have. Attendance is mandatory, he keeps track. The field trip/presentation is a nice boost to the grade as well. Dr. Nassimi was the best professor I've had! He really cares about his students and helps you do well. He encourages a lot of questions and has evidence from the Qur'an in his lectures. He is a tough grader but he gives many tips for assignments and how to do well on them, also great at communication, he constantly sends emails of updates.

7 journals, midterm, group field trip, final journal and final exam. Both the midterm and the final exam are take home. Make sure to take your attendance seriously. Honestly, just put in effort and you'll pass. He is extremely knowledgable and is open to all questions. He's awesome!

I love Nassimi. He's very respected among all students who took him. He wants you to not only learn about Islam, but to fully understand it. Amazing professor with amazing lectures. But gives a lot of homework as in weekly journals, that is too because he wants you to learn the subject deeply.

Its not like you will pass this class without paying attention to your assignment, The professor is good and respected, he wants you to do your work in a useful way. One journal of 100 points every week and 1 mid, 1 final. Just do your best and your hard work will payoff. Otherwise, good professor, work smart and overall informative class it is.

This has been my favorite course ever taken and I really learned a lot while enjoying the material as Dr. Nassimi teaches the material in an interesting manner with true knowledge and passion for the subject. Favorite class I've ever taken. AMAZING prof! So kind, caring, understanding, and a great teacher. Won't ever be bored in class. Even if you're Muslim trust me you'll learn so much. The assignments are all writing but they're not hard and you basically just give your insight on the class material. I wish I could take this class again! 10/10!

I just saw a rating about a Muslim not liking the professor because he make him feel "stupid". I am also a Muslim but I thought I knew the material before beginning class. But slowly I realized that I didn't really know like 60% of the material we learned in class. This class teaches a lot even if you are Muslim.
