Mr.Jensen is very modest, soft spoken but also firm when it comes to doing your best. He sees the best in his student before they do. His style of teaching makes everything in the class comes so easily. He also makes class very interesting.

While there is a healthy amount of typing the content is mostly objective. It is what you gleamed from the reading materials. The course is quite enjoyable if you open yourself up to new ideas and are willing to dig deep into your personality for insight. Less right and wrong answers as much as it is what you learned from the text.

Mr. Jensen is an awesome instructor. This was truly not a boring class AT ALL. It was a 3.5 hour class twice a week & time would just fly by. You definitely need to be prepared for class to really get the most out of it, but Mr. Jensen is not super strict about much of anything (so long as you use common sense- don't text all through class, etc.)

I would strongly recommend Mr. J for an instructor. Specifically Ethnic Literature was a blast. We got to read five very different book, of genres that I had never read before. This class definitely requires a lot of reading and writing. I would suggest not taking this class in an accelerated format if you are taking more than 2 classes at a time.

Mr. Jensen helps you develop your writing skills, and encourages participation in discussion. He is very respectful of your thoughts and ideas and really listens to what you have to say. He also asks questions that make you think about something in a new and unique way. I enjoyed my class with him very much.

I personally think Mr. Jensen was a great teacher for me this semester. His grading policy was pretty clear, and the assignments were respectfully hard enough for a student like myself to work hard for, but a passing grade is in reach for anyone who actually tries. Mr. Jensen is also very understanding if something went wrong with an assignment.

Grades very toughly, does and doesn't give much feedback. I've gotten bad grades and barely any feedback wondering what I did wrong. But I have also gotten good feedback that helps me.

He expect us homework almost everyday and that it's a good things for us as a students, but sometimes i have a hard and very hard time on my homework. Professor Jensen is one of the best teachers i have had yet. He is very understanding and willing to work with you if you do the same for him.

He helps a lot with feedback when it comes to papers and homework on topics you don't usually talk about. There's a few interesting stories, and although papers are normally 2-3 pages long once you've went over the material and annotated with your class it's easy to get a 2-3 page paper out of the information.

Darin Jensen is a great professor he gives home work wish is expected but is there for you to help you understand how to do the work. This class is really helpful for future higher level classes and I would recommend taking his class because it will help you understand collage better.

It is a lot of reading and a lot of writing but it was actually very helpful and the books we read weren't boring like some of the books assigned for other classes. These ones were more interesting.

Mr. Jensen is one of the best teachers I've had. In total i've taken three of his classes and he's always there to provide input and explain why something fits, or doesn't fit into you're writing. But if you are expecting an easy A, or want to get by doing the bare minimum find a new teacher. He expects good quality work with no bullcrap. So do it.

He is going to expect you to know how to critically think through texts and analyze it and write about it. If you are not on your "P's" and "Q's" don't expect to pass his class. He is very UNDERSTANDING !!! but he isn't going to let you run game on him.

There is a lot of reading but if you do what your suppose to do and read when your suppose to its interesting what he will have you do with the reading when writing. The class was a very enjoyable class. Had many open group discussions and watched a couple films that revolved around the work we were learning which i felt tied the material together. There is more reading than i first expected, but if you work hard and be participate you will not be disappointing. Ethnic Literature is very important to learn.

I took the accelerated course and worked 25-30 hours a week so the two, three page papers a week was hard but the books were really good so I always had ideas to go off of, it was just about finding the time to do it. This class really gets you thinking about your own life and society, I definitely recommend this class for everyone any major.

Darin is the second teacher I've had here at Metro that is here for his students. He is willing to help no matter what and he wants to see his students pass. He is super helpful and very good conversationalist.

You really need to work for your grade! There is no easy way out but he will explain everything crystal clear and inspire you to do the best you can. Before this class, I hated writing and only selected the class because it was needed to graduated but this class really made me excited to write!
