I passed the placement test with Honor course.I took the class with him, I got B. In all my years of education, by far the worst "professor" I've had. Doesn't answer emails, and when he does they're worthless. Has typos on exams, answers that work very hard to trick you, and quizzes that are all or nothing. Take this class only if someone forces you to do it at gunpoint. It took a month to get the right cd and my "schedule" according to the syllabus was too far off for me to catch up. This man does not need to teach. For an on-line class, he is non-responsive and rude. Textbook is not the best; quizzes are okay--make sure you use the study guide function, do the practice problems and the sample tests. EXAM IS NOT ONLINE. Exam format is NOTHING like the on-line quizzes. No extra credit. I do not recommend this class. Waste of $$

WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. In all of my years as a student, I have never had a more inadequate teacher than Professor Izadi. I took MTH 241 online with him and he didn't provide any notes, lectures, worksheets, or any learning tools. His midterm and final exams were 20 multiple choice questions. He is rude and inconsiderate and unhelpful. He put no time/effort into preparing the course. I paid $370 to teach myself, not well either, and now I'm retaking the course to boost my GPA.

You will really need to dedicate yourself into this class. It's a very time consuming class - read the book, do homeworks online, take weekly quizes, develop a project (10 days before the final exam). Exams on paper. Unflexible teacher, not opened to new solutions. If you have a choice, do not take this class.

I took his Calculus class online, and it was a complete waste of time. Even if you go get tutoring and understand the material, the Midterm and Final have nothing to do with what you learned. He doesn't help, and expects you to know what to do without any help. Get a different professor if you can. Stay away from this one!!!!

Took Calculus in the summer and will have to say that the instructor's clarifications are not too great. A bit ignorant when students ask for help and the tests are not actually related to the topics that the class learned. Don't bother.

Dariush izadi is the worst!! Never respond to the emails and he does not care about his students. You end up with dropping the class just like me or receiving F for your course, so youd better avoiding him and save your money for a better and caring teacher. Trust me!!!!

Unless you are very gifted at Math, I would recommend not to take this professor. First of all he doesn't seem to understand the questions the class asks him. All of the homework and quizes are for a grade and are done in an online quirky format. He doesn't cover the material you will see in the HW/Quizzes. I highly recommend to seek another route.

As this is an online course, the instructor offers no instruction and the course is based entirely on the text. You can email the instructor, but I found him to be rude. Has test answers that make no sense but sticks to them and very very particular about minute and trivial details. Ignored my request for letter of recommendation.

Currently taking him for an ELI course to fulfill a prereq for a master's program I was accepted into. The material doesn't seem difficult but is EXTREMELY time consuming if you follow his outline. The pace has you covering 3 sections per week and, as of late, I am spending somewhere between 5-7 hours per section which is pretty ridiculous!!!

First and last online class at NOVA for me. Worst experience ever. I received all 90s on quizzes and hw, but the open ended paper midterm was RIDICULOUS! Not reflective of the subject matter and in broken english. My first B ever and I worked hard and know stat 2 like the back of my hand. He also posted wrong grades on bb so double check his work.

Had to hound him over email because he won't reply and is completely insensitive of your grade. Waste of half a semester for sure. I am a 3.8 student and have been in college for four years now, and he is by far the worst professor that I've taken throughout my entire college career. He does not care about his students, and simply relies on MyMathLab to teach for him.

Prof. Izadi only did this job for a living because he is the least professional teacher I have seen in my whole life. Difficult email communication, very unclear and contradictory syllabus, zero feedback for quizzes and exams, no reminders of what were coming up and when they were due, indifferent attitude of whether you were failing or passing.

It was my fault that I was late for signup and to be honest I didn't know about ratemyprofessor without him. He is a nice guy but I believe he doesn't really care if a student pass or fails. His English is pretty terrible. He relies on mymathlab and I currently have a 95 on that but the mid terms dropped my grade significantly. Does not give curves

He teaches you simple concepts when the homework,quizzes, and tests have harder material on it. I had to leave his class before it was the census date. He really needs to be fired. What he taught in class was super easy and basically what i learned in high school algebra but his midterm and Pearson had much harder content that we didn't go over. Dariush Izadi is the worst professor I have met in my college carrier. He does not care about students. He does not even answer " ask professor" discussion board questions. Directions for all projects unclear and examples not provided.

One of the most difficult teachers I have encountered. In my case, our homework was not graded meaning you have to do well in the tests. There are 4 test and one final, each with only 10-15 problems. The final is made up of the previous tests and in most cases he gives you all the points or none.

You have to study for most of the parts yourself. He is using the questions in the textbook, so if you do all the homework and know how to solve those problems, you can pass. It isn't easy though . I didn't sleep before final day to get an A. 4 exams, 1 final. All are 20%.

It hurts to do this but it must be said, I wouldn't advise this professor to anyone, only ended up here due to schedule restraints. All homework and quizzes are online but if you dont pass the final or midterm it doesn't matter. Pretty much have to teach yourself.

Also, there are 8 quizzes that make up the remaining 20%. Test feedback is worthless, doesn't give correct answers for you to study with.

A fairly cold professor, doesn't really care if his students pass or fail. Exam takes up way more of your grade percentage than it should and makes the homework a bit pointless. I'd stay away.

All NOVA STEM professors are awful!! At the end of the day, you're gonna have to teach yourself the material, if your questioning whether to take statistics online or in-person chose online! Search up the questions! This is my second time taking statistics at NOVA (past professor was also bad) and I at least had LESS WORK to do by taking it online.

Made the mistake of not taking other people's advice so please listen to me & don't take him! I took calc in high school & got an A+, so I know what a good teacher is. Will not do any partial credit. ALL grades are exams. No projects. Lectures are copy-paste from the textbook, no extra input or help. Uses the "none of the above" option of exams. Imagine doing all of the correct work, but messing up on that last step. then getting a 65 because of it. Unacceptable to the student, unrewarding.

I regret making the mistake of taking the worst professor ever. He doesn't explain how you got to the final answers at all. He is really bad at teaching and at the end of the day you learn nothing from him. So READER avoid the worst professor there is.

This has to be the #1 worst professor to ever teach math. He absolutely does not care about his students. He just reads off the powerpoint and gives answers to problems without going over steps. He is strict on the exams and makes you TYPE IN your work instead of sending a picture to him. (which by the way, takes longer than the exam itself).

Most boring class ever

Do not take this class. 80% of your final grade is the exams. 20% is homework. Absolutely no extra credit or other worksheets is given out. He doesnt care if you pass or not. Hes not nice or welcoming. Probably one of the worst professors Ive ever had. Save yourself and pick a different professor.

The professor only uses ppts and then goes over them in class as part of the whole semester lecture. Only graded by test and final. Don't have any technical difficulties cause he will not understand. An overall horrible course where you are teaching yourself. Exams are over via a zoom call. He also makes so many typos on the test, so remind him.

Disappointed with this professor. He's extemely lecture heavy and very rude to people. He legit would make me mad a few times how he would talk to fellow students. Is a terrible professor and needs help, gets mad at the class for "not paying attention when all he does is talk for 1 and half hour. He has a 2-hour long boring lecture. He is very rude to students for no reason. If the class has no energy u will end up sleeping and he doesn't care about the students too. By far the most difficult class I've taken at NOVA and Cal1 is my forte. Lots of homework and his lectures suck. I already learned cal1 and I STILL worked hard for this class, but he just makes everything harder than it's supposed to be. Your grade is determined by 4 tests and a final. No extra credit. He grades unfairly too. Avoid at all costs.

If your ready to learn pre-calc on your own then take his class. He does not teach well at all your only graded in 2 things once it drops its hard to get it back. Does not like to slow down and actually help his students. Also has a weird attitude towards students
