Expected knowledge of material not covered in pre-req classes. Was disrespectful of students in front of class. After low average for 1st exam he changed the level of difficulty. Class is out of 100 points only. Get a tutor or group to study with. Spends large amount of time lecturing class on how to study, then rushes actual lecture.
Repetitive work will get you through the class, less close to none will be learned. The professor is rude and unapproachable, rarely answers questions but would reexplain in the same way over again. He supports and favors students who visit him during office hours. Each quiz accounts for 3% of the overall grade, there are quizzes every Wednesday.
Class is not easy, it takes some work to get an A. His lecture was clear overall and if you show you care he will help you out. He drops worst 2 quizzes and worst exam. He gave a pool of possibile questions before final. Just go over the examples from the book and class notes, quizzes and exams will be exactly those exercises with different numbers
Dr. Khezri is by all means a nice man, but I could not comprehend anything he said. Not only is it hard to understand his accent, but he teaches at a fast and random pace. I am really good at math, and I hated/struggled with this class.
Spend half of the class time telling you how to study, how can you be successful in life, etc, and then spend the rest of the time rushing through the lecture, so you have to spend a lot of your own time to study the materials youself, which is why I think this class is difficult.
He is a very nice guy, he hands out a ton of extra credit. This may sound nice but he have a thick accent and cares more about lecturing how to study rather than the material in class! Quizzes were out of 2.5 points and exams were out of 15 so if you messed up you're screwed.
Medicore teacher at best. Gave a final exam that failed the whole class. He makes you work for the grade and gives conditional extra credit. He will take your extra credit back if he doesn't see improvement. I never would take a class with this professor again.
Worst prof. ever. Took 2 courses with him now. Rushes materials. Totally unclear lectures. Wastes time telling students how terrible they are (if everyone is struggling it has to do with the prof!). The class average came out as a 68 percent on Canvas. I had a 78 percent on Canvas but ended with a B. Presumably so class average wasn't a D!
Worst prof at PSU Harrisburg. Do not take any of his classes.
Nice but Not Easy. And the subject isnt easy so if you dont have time to really study and arent planning on taking advantage of office hours, forget it. Hell help you - I went to his office hours all the time and he never rushed me and explained the same thing over and over. He is a nice super helpful prof but dont expect mercy grades. Work.
I took 2 classes with Dr. Khezri. both classes required hard work but this a university and people need to make effort to pass instead of expecting easy A's. He is very smart and nice you will learn a lot from him and his classes. He is always available in his office and try to help as much as possible. I will definitely take him again.
Outstanding professor that really cares about his students and allows them to work hard to achieve the highest grade possible. Friendly and positive attitude and is always available to talk when you are in need of extra help. Will help you understand in the easiest way possible. Makes you feel confident in your work and pushes you to do your best.
Whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR'S CLASSES! I seriously recommend waiting a semester for another professors class to open up for the same course then to take his class. He told us if we all gave him a good survey score, he would make a study guide 95% off the FINAL EXAM. Exam comes and the ENTIRE class fails. 50% failed the class.
I took 2 classes with Prof. Khezri I can tell he really cares about his students. Every time I visited his office he was there, so take advantage of his availability. He also offers extra credits and tons of practice material. The material is difficult so you will have to put extra effort into learning it.
Dr Kezri is a really good and caring professor He may seem intimidating at the beginning but i guess thats only because he wants people to understand the difficulty of the class and to put in the effort He cares a lot for his students and tries to explain all concepts in an understandable way If you put in the effort he will help you pass the class
This professor has high expectations and wants the student to succeed. He said this course will demand a lot from you and if you don't have the time to study you should drop it. His demeanor in the beginning of the semester was odd to me, so I was taken back by his comments. But, he cares about the students' success and is extremely willing to help
Cares about student success. Worked better when we switched to online classes. His demeanor might throw you off at first but he is a good professor. Will work with you to make sure you understand the material, don't be intimidated. Course material itself can be difficult so be prepared to work.
He genuinely cares about the students' learning experience. He can be tough up front but if you follow his syllabus (we had a syllabus quiz day one), you will be able to be on his good side. He is definitely willing to help outside of class as well. While he can be difficult both in content and sometimes personally, he will consider class's opinion
Put in more effort for this class then all my other classes combined and I still felt like I didn't know if I was going to get a B or C or a D. He may seem like a really caring dude but he isn't . I went to his office hours and asked questions and he practically made me feel stupid. Only class I have ever dropped and done so poorly in.
This guy seemed to care about our grades throughout the year. I worked really hard for a B+ going into the final. However, he made it impossible and the class average was like a 25% on it. Destroyed everyones grade. Hell also embarrass you in front of the class on the front board if you do talk or do something he does not like in class.
Terrible Professor. This class is "theoretical" in his terms and all he gives is theorems and proofs. But there isn't a concrete way or a normal setting where you can use the theorems he gives. Class is way too confusing. He forces you to complete homework online so then you can see the next week's notes. Terrible professor. Can't teach.
His quizzes and exams are very short. The final was 15 questions but 150 points. Jokes on us, the last THREE questions were on material he admitted to not teaching. He did not curve it. The average was a 52%. PLEASE take another professor.
At the beginning -> middle time period of the semester you will want to drop this class. However if you just do the work he gives you, pop-quizzes, homework, etc. You are at least guaranteed a C. He really does want you to pass.
Came out of this class learning nothing useful. Go on MITOCW to learn probability, he may know mathematics but there is a fundamental difference between knowing something and understanding it deep enough to teach it well. He clearly doesn't know how to teach the material well.
Gives weekly quizzes that are 10+ questions but you only have 15 minutes to do them. He will make fun of you if you dont get a question right in class. Probably the worst prof a psu Harrisburg. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Midterm and final decide if you pass the class or not.
He grades really harshly on all of his weekly quizzes and gives you so little time to complete all of them. The quizzes are also worth hardly any points, so if you get one question wrong, you still automatically fail because the point values are so low. I would not recommend him to anyone but if you really want a challenge, take his class.
Prof Kherzi really cares about his students and is accessible, we had some issues with not having enough time on the online quizzes and once we communicated it well to him he added extra time. I think he gets a bad rap simply because he teaches a course that's challenging for most. Ask questions, he is excellent at explaining things
The class was challenging because of the material, but Dr. Khezrimotlagh is very accessible outside class and explains everything well. He cares that you actually learn and understand the material vs just memorizing for the quizzes, so getting a few bad grades early on doesn't have to ruin your grade if you go to office hours and show improvement.
The entirety of this class seems like it's a cruel "weed-out" class, where the few grades you have up to the midterm determine your final grade. Have a question in class? It won't be answered adequately. Oh you had a different thought process? Please listen while Dr. Khezri explains how he solved it, disregarding what you said entirely. Terrible.
He was extremely helpful and was thorough with the material. If you have a question, hes more than willing to explain it. If you mess up a question on a quiz, hell take time to explain what the correct way is.
Amazing professor with excellent explanations of the materials. Very strict with class attendance.
If you value your grades, definitely avoid him. Graded quizzes/tests very harshly even though every quiz was worth 5% of the overall grade. I think he enjoys failing students; it's what gets him out of bed in the morning. Started the class with 40 students, ended with about 18.
He is very arrogant and thinks that he can never be wrong. He also will pick on students in the class for asking questions for clarity. He was also very rude to me when I asked what I could do to raise my grade and confused me with another black student.
I hate him. I had to drop this course because the grading is equal to your percentage for eg if you scored 4/15 that means you lost 11% of the whole grade. Apparently he never curves
I would like to say some things about Dr. Khezri but there is a profanity filter. So instead I will say I'm pretty sure he was an interrogator at Guantanamo Bay because every time I sat in his class it felt like that. Please avoid him if you can, only cares about his research.
Even though the material he presented was challenging, I liked being challenged, and so I worked hard for it and got an A for my class. I remember a few times during class always saying if you scratch more paper, then you learn more, and I stuck with that and finished strong, and with a successful class, I was on my way to an amazing summer break.
Dr. Khezrimotlagh is a wonderful professor! He cares about his students, will notice if you work hard, and will help if you are confused. Do not skip any classes or you will be lost. If you do miss class, he is very willing to help you during office hours and will make time for you. Exams are easy if you study and pay attention to his lectures.
most of his stuff is from knewton alta, i'll be honest i learned 0 things from his class, all you had to do was putting equations and codes into geogebra to get your answers and knewton alta malfunctions a lot which messed up my grade. Also there is no make ups for tests you scored bad on, however, this class is good for those taking engineering
I'll start off with this; if you need to take a single calc credit and never think about the class again, he won't be that bad. If you need to go into higher level calc, avoid him if possible. The work is easy, plug equations into a program and get the answer, but he can't teach. I learned nothing from him and feel dumber after taking it.
He is nice and trying his best to explain everything to you. Even sometimes, the lectures are hard and he is strict, but he really cares about his students.
Dr. Khezri's class is hard, however it is manageable. There are a decent bit of assignments, but they all help with understanding. He is very accessible outside of class and it is apparent that he cares about his students' success. It is not an easy class, but you will leave the class knowing something you didn't before.
Dr. Khezrimotlagh's classes are easy to understand, need to focus on the lecture notes and you are fine.
I had heard that he is a tough professor. But I like the class it was fun. And tbh I would say he is a great professor
Operation research IS his research interest, therefore we have thoroughly learned the topic. Sometimes material can get difficult, but Dr. Khezrimotlagh's note is really helpful, reading it is a must to do well in the class.
Dr Khezrimotlagh's classes are easy to understand. It is important to attend lectures because the homework assignments are mostly related to the classwork.
I believe Professor Khezri has changed his classes recently. Material covered in this course was difficult to learn, and Prof's explanations did not help much. However, a good amount of lecture time is spent working on problems and you are encouraged to ask questions. Despite what the other reviews say, Dr. Khezri truly cares about your success.
Dr. Khezrimotlagh cares a lot about his students and really wants you to succeed. He's willing to take the time to explain things to you as much as you need it. Unfortunately, his explanations are difficult, and his homework is atrocious--manually computing/transcribing dozens of tables. The suggested videos on Canvas are very helpful. USE THEM!
He can be strict in the beginning, but if you put in the effort and show him you want to do well, he can be a nice guy. He does grade based on a few assignments so make sure everything counts. His assignments are based on his notes, and he gives out his notes each week. He really cares about students and will explain things as long as you ask.
Dr. Khezrimotlagh is a nice professor that cares about his students. He gives a decent amount of assignments but he doesn't grade harshly.
Dr. Khezri is a caring guy and tries his best to help his students succeed. He will help you out if you go to his office hours. Also, it would help to be familiar with excel before taking this class. Go to class, ask questions, do the assignments and you will pass. Overall, class was not easy but I learned a lot.
Students dislike Khezri because he cares enough to grade you based on your effort. You will fail if you do not at least review the material. He can be a little challenging to understand at times, but he does make himself available for office hours. People don't give him the credit he deserves despite the fact that he is so passionate about his work
mandem needs to chill out with attendance and actually teach some math he don't give no math tests, all he does is give class work and homework grades but this means no math is learnt especially because he makes you use desmos to solve these questions and never use your brain, L teacher, L + ratio
Please take my word for this, Khezri is kind, caring, and passionate professor. Sure I didn't learn as much. But by taking the time to look at the hw and learning how to do it by hand, you can find stuff. This class is all about taking what you can get. If you just show up to his class, do the hw, and go up in front of the class, you will get an A.
Dr. Khezri is a really nice guy, and I believe he genuinely cares about his students. However, If you want to actually learn calculus by hand do not take this class, he teaches the fundamentals on a graphing website and you will present your understanding every Friday. Attendance is mandatory otherwise you will fail. Overall the class was easy.
Professor Khezri was an amazing professor, since i am not good at using technology and his class was heavy Geogebra based he made sure that i learned everything. At once i was in a very bad position regarding something personal, he made sure that i thrived in his class and did not hesitate to answer any questions. He really cares about his students
After getting dunked on by the first exam in Math 141, I will say that I learned nothing in his class. He uses geogebra instead of teaching how to take derivatives. If you only need 140 and nothing beyond, go ahead and grab the easy grade, but engineers should be hesitant to take his course.
Professor Khezri is an exceptional educator who truly cares about the success of their students. Their lectures are well-prepared and delivered with clarity, making complex topics easy to understand. Students consistently rate Professor Khezri highly for their engaging teaching style and effective communication skills.
Dr. Khezri is a kind and caring professor who is willing to help you with the difficult course material of Elementary Probability. If you show up to his office with specific questions and problems in mind, he is extremely helpful. As long as you put in the effort, Dr. Khezri will see this and reward you for it.
Disappointing professor: Unresponsive to emails, redirects to external sources, and requires purchase of extra books. Lacks dedication and communication skills. Education suffers when paycheck trumps genuine teaching. Students deserve better. Wake up Penn. Cant Rest on laurels for too long
The course material is not easy, but Dr. Kezri is more than willing to help you. He will upload all resources you need on canvas, use them! Go to office hours, he is always available if you make appointment. Overall, he is a responsible and fair professor for every student. If you want to learn something useful, take him!
This teacher will deduct your score to 60 points because you made a small mistake in the quiz. It doesn't work if I write the answer in the wrong place. Once I wrote the answer correctly but didn't write it into his form in the question area below, he deducted 50 points from my participation. His homework every week is also very heavy.
Dont get deceived by his rating. Many of his old 425 low ratings got removed and he suddenly got a lot of good review on Dec 5, 2022. Alot of quizzes and HW, and quizzes are all about whether you can follow his steps exactly. Made a slight error or used a different approach? Tough luck. He can go from happy to mad (or vice versa) in a nanosecond.
The worst prof ever. So rude. Unapproachable. Demeaning. Cold
I hate him
Nothing about this course is planned as per the student's interests. The professor makes it a very hostile environment for students to feel comfortable in. He is not loud or angry but quite intimidating. He keeps demotivating students with kind words which is scary. You would feel anxious to even spend time in his class.
rude and demeaning to students, terrible lectures that is difficult to follow. Assignments every week. Sometimes fails to inform student about quiz and sometimes say that there is a quiz when there is none.
The worst professor. Blames students for not engaging during class or doing bad on the quizzes. Class is intimidating/stressful. Quizzes graded harshly and random. Lots of content to learn by yourself. Calculus/proofs to completely memorize and less application. Feels like you're walking on thin ice each class and for your grade. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!
One of the most demeaning and harsh professors you could take. Makes you memorize proofs and you learn very little about anything else. Better off taking this class with a professor who does not have unrealistic expectations.
If he is teaching you math 140 then you are very lucky! Easy grader on quizzes and test, very caring towards students, and will help you anytime in his office when needed. No homework at all
Run if you have him.
Do not take this guy ever.
Unrealistic style of teaching. If you make a minor mistake then you will get a zero. RUN!
This professor is awful. He looks for any excuse to remove points off your grade. He is not compassionate whatsoever. It does not matter if you have a perfect understanding of the material, he will remove every point possible. Do NOT take this professor.
Do not take this class. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This professor is the worst. He constantly fails to post hw that's due and at the last minute he posts it and expects it to be turned in on time. He takes points off of assignments for the most ridiculous things and he gets mad over the smallest stuff. Do not take his class and just run.
Khezri is distained by most of his pupils due to his lack of awarenes when concerning student need. He does not teach his students how to apply the formulas he teaches; "teach", meaning he talks to himself about the subject and does not clarify anything he says. Khezri has a VERY short temper; when asked to clarify, the prof. gets very irritated.
If you want to actually learn this subject, take a class with this prof. If you want an easy grade with no real evaluation, this isn't the guy for you.
He's available and will make extra time for you. He's not easy but I learned a lot. I would (and did) take more classes with him. Give him a chance - he will help if you ask for it.
Dr. Khezri is NOT qualified to be a professor. He does not work well w/ kids and it's unfortunate to see him work here. While I received a good grade in this class, many of my peers struggled, partly due to the unfair and inaccurate tests he provides. Khezri also has a short temper. I would NOT recommend this class in the slightest!
Bro, no words. You have to take this class to know.
Lectures aren't very good and he creates an unwelcoming environment and has a short temper. If you study hard, you will get an A in his class but you will have to deal with some strange antics of his.
Khezri, my sanity eludes me, this class somehow was worse than my high school calc teacher's, whose notes felt like a schizophrenics. I would rather smash my skull into my desk 15 times, run a triathlon, undergo Chinese bamboo torture, eat glue, and consume copious amounts of sandpaper several times over than take this teacher again.
If my previous review didn't solidify the sheer dread I got from this class, I'd say get struck a bus on the freeway in South Sudan, then eat a shoe. Every exam was like giving a child a baseball bat and telling them to attack grandma with it, and instead, they attack you. The lasting PTSD is relatable to shell shock from WW2 survivors. DO NOT TAKE
Darisuh knows his subject but finds it hard to truly teach. Most of class is him answering math problems, not giving meaning as to how or why. He only allows a simple calculator. Gives a lot of homework. He doesn't have thorough structure of the year and assigns work whenever he feels. But he is nice if you participate. And ask smart questions.
He spent a lot of classes going over a lot of examples. Always do the practice problems on Pearson (at least daily)! He likes my pencil pouch :)
i was filled with anxiety every time i stepped into that classroom. he barely taught and has the shortest temper i've ever seen. also takes points off for the smallest mistakes. it's clear he really tries to intimidate you and make the class harder than it needs to be. RUN AND HIDE AND DO NOT LET HIM FIND YOU
I've heard many people say he has a short temper. In reality, Prof. Khezri is caring and supportive. He showcases his passion for teaching and supporting his students, and you can tell that he wants you to do your best. There are quizzes and no final exam! He provides practice problems on Pearson, and the quiz questions come from there.
Just take another professor
weekly online quiz, 3 exams, no final, no attendance. My favorite prof this semester. Super flexible with late work cuz he really wants us to get a good grade and always willing to help. All the test questions are from the practice problems (literally the same just different numbers). Course is definitely hard but do the practice, you'll be fine
His lectures left much to be desired but if you participate in class and take notes, it was not bad at all. His class is heavy on Pearson assignments but allows you to redo the online assignments once if needed. If I were to take this class again, I would recommend going to his office hours even just to check in and chat as he is very approachable.
