I like this teacher. She makes the class easy to learn. The only thing you might have to do a little thinking about would be test but as long as you understand you will be fine.

THE BEST professor I ever had. Homework is optioanl but it helps a lot for final grade. In class she cracks jockes all the time and gives a lot of real life examples. Material is presented very clearly, grading is more than fair. I only wish I could take another class with her (professor Powers, if you are reading this hint: BLAW 1 & 2)

Very good teacher, i'll tell you what you need to know: Do the case briefs, yeah they take time but it pushes your grade up whole letter grade, some are interesting. I took legal environment in a condensed summer session and I expected this class to be dry and boring with a lot of homework to top it off. She is by far one of the best teachers at NEIU. She understands that we have lives outside of her class and gives her homework accordingly. Great extra credit because it actually took work and learning to complete. Strict on attendance but compensates for bad weather. Tests covered exactly what she told the class they would.

This is a hard subject made easy by a great teacher, she really knows her stuff and you'll want to attend this class if you get the chance. You "do" have to come to class everyday, but its possible... i did it so can you, she gives an insane amount of extra credit so if you cant get an A or B you have problems. I took this class in Spring'12 and professor powers is awesome! She explains everything in simple english and uses real life examples so you could understand better.You don't really need the textbook in class but you do need it for the hw, which is doing outlines for each chapter. Exams are clear and is on exactly what she says.I def recommend her!

Professor Powers is hard on the outside and soft on the inside. Take notes because you will need them to pass the exams. On the tests there will be a lots vocabularies so be sure to write them down when she's explaining. Attendance is mandatory. Overall, I would take her class again if I could.
