Dont need to buy the textbook. She gives you all the notes and presents it very clearly. Study the notes and you'll do fine. Great teacher.

Her notes are very clear, but you actually have to study them. Makes the subject matter interesting and tries to relate it to what the student experiences. She also had a great sense of humor. If she could teach all of my classes I would go for my doctorate.

Awesome teacher, I agree with the person who said that they would go for their doctorates. I had her twice and both times I got an A in her class (bio and A&P). I am however still going for my doctorates :) Maybe I'll see her again somewhere along the way (at a different school).

AWSOME TEACHER! If you have a chance to get her, you should. She makes everything that is taught very clear. She also lectures very clearly. Take good notes, study the notes and you'll ace this class.

Dr. Martin makes eveything very easy to understand, I suggest after taking notes to look them over in the book too, because it will help make things more clear. this teacher is a beautiful person she really does care for her students and when you need help she tries her best. i didnot have any questions after her lectures a good idea is to listen to her jokes because in the writting portion of the test you may need them to help you with your answer also read your notes you will them for the quizes

Martin is an awesome teacher. Make sure you take notes, if you do you'll do very well in the class. Also, she passes out review sheets for lecture so that you know what to expect on a test. Overall she is very helpful and explains things very well, due to the fact she's excited about what she's teaching. I highly recommend her!

Shes a great professor. If you study the notes you have taken you will do good on her POP Quizzes and the Lecture Exam. If you make great usage of Lab time you will do great on the Lab Exam. Shes always helpful and interested in helping you in any way she can! I would definately reccomend her!

Before this class I was very frightened about science courses. I wanted 2 avoid them at all costs & I actually lost sleep over the thought of them. I came out w/ a B+ & I love science now. Martin is so down to earth & approachable. She makes it fun. You get study guides & take helpful quizzes. If you study, this class isn't bad at all.

Class is pretty fast-paced for your average freshman rookie: covers a lot of material quick, especially if you don´t know chemistry. Prof. Martin is always Happy to answer your question and tries to engage the class. Study your notes and handouts. Goes by very fast, last 2 weeks flew by in what seemed like a day.

She is one of the hardest teachers I had. She teaches with a passion though. She explains everything very briefly and helps u understand it well. You need to put a lot of time into studying if you want to get an A or just pass the class.

Professor Martain was one of my favorite professors. You really have to pay attention, take notes, and go to class. Use all the lab time you get. She was an amazing teacher and I would recommend her to everyone. She makes jokes and makes everything personal. She will always be one of my favorite professors.

You don't really need your textbook because her lecture tests are strictly off her own notes & you'll need to copy them down freehand. Labs are easy if you put in the effort.

I took this professor for Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. She rocks! She cares about her students and wants them to do well in her class. She's also really excited about the subject, which I have found to be a common characteristic among all great teachers. Professor Martin is a great teacher. If you write down all her notes and then re-read them after class you will do well on the pop quizzes and tests. Use your lab time wisely because the lab tests are a little harder. I enjoyed her class.

This is not a easy class by any means but I think Darlene does a good job at teaching this subject. You write all of your own notes which seems to be helpful and she give you all the material you will need. All you have to do is study.. alot.

And she really prepares you for the Lab and Lecture Tests. Just come to class and study your notes and you will get an A. She really wants you to succeed!

I took Mrs. Martin for anatomy and physiology and loved her!!!! She made the class understandable by explaining concepts thouroughly and enthusiastically. She also sincerely cares about student's success. Everything on the tests was covered in the notes (which we had to write). So if you put the time and effort into this class, you will do well.

AWESOME Instructor!! This woman was made to teach this class. It isn't an easy class, but she makes it fun. If you can type on a laptop, I recommend using it in lecture to type your notes. I am signing up for another class with her next semester.

professor Martin is the Best A&P teacher in MCC. Her teaching is old skool in that you write notes manually but this really helps in remembering stuff. when you write it down chances of it sticking in the brain are way higher. i enjoyed her class.

She is the perfect professor. Strict, but has to be..students these days will take advantage of any professor they can...excuse after excuse to "feel sorry for them" and try to beg for credits. She is tough, but totally and completely fair. If you really want to learn, she is the professor 4 you. If you want to blow it off...don't bother her.

Best Professor I've had in any subject. She is enthusiastic and knows how to correlate the material to real life applications. She makes it easy to be interested in the class. Pay attention in class and study your notes. I got a 4.0 and put around 10-20hrs of studying a week.

An incredible amount of material to learn, in considerable depth in a relatively short space of time. Prof. Martin is excellent at conveying the material & is very fair. Amazing teacher! After taking anatomy 3 times she was by far the best at explaining the material. She makes class fun, but beware your hand will hurt from taking notes. The lab book is like the bible and i didn't end up using the textbook since she gives the tests based on her notes. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Best teacher at macomb!! anyone taking this class knows how hard it is, and thats why you need a teacher like Mrs. Martin to guide you. She doesn't mess around, gives the best notes and really drills the information into your brain. Take her!!

Prof. Martin was the absolute best teacher I've ever had at macomb. I took her class fall 2011 and it was my second attempt @ A&P. I'll never forget the first day she said 'don't be intimidated by me or this subject. I know more about A&P where you may know more about ie.Cars' she was right she's an expert! Love her!

If I were you, I would stay away from her A and P class because there are no extra credit, lecture exams are extremely hard, many small pop quizzes every other day and she does not drop lowest exam score.

This is my second time taking A&P with her, and everything clicked this time around. She's extremely helpful, and she makes sure you know what you're studying. Tests may be a little hard, but that's a give. Offers extra credit on each exam, and there are pop quizzes here and there. Please please please take her if you're planning on taking A&P!

I would highly recommend Prof Martin, she is a caring & genuine prof. Lectures consist of hand written notes, which for me I actually learned better from. I first took this class at WSU & struggled. I felt I learned WAY more at MCC mainly due to prof Martin & the learning center availb. HIGHLY suggest taking this class by itself, its a lot of work.

Prof. Martin is intimidating but MORE than willing to help! See her ASAP with concerns and she does what she can to get you on track. Her lecture exams follow her notes only. Lab exams are easy if you study your butt off. Do not take this class with any other classes if you are working! She works you hard but I loved her.

Super Sweet but you are pretty much on your own when it comes to lab and with lecture, you are more focused on keeping up with writing all her notes that by the time you leave you have no idea what was even discussed in class, leaving you to reteach yourself and study for hours on hours to get a good grade and her tests are not easy!

Before starting the class I was very intimidated by what others have said about A&P. To my surprise, it has been one of the best classes I have taken at MCC! STUDY and utilize time in the learning center, I am so glad they have this available! SUPER HELPFUL! Lecture exams are not hard if you study. Very straightforward from the notes. TAKE HER

Take her. 4 lecture exams that come directly from handwritten notes you take all hour, 4 lab exams, and 10 pop quizzes (really 11 but lowest score gets dropped). No extra credit. It's a lot of material but if you study you will get a good grade. She has a personality too which is always fun, especially in a bio class.

She is an awesome teacher. You hardly have to look at the book, just study her notes and your gold! It's a hard class and you need to study a ton, but she makes the hard stuff a little easier. I had NO prior knowledge in this subject b4 her class and I finished with an A. Like I said its hard stuff but you just you have to put in the work.

This class requires a lot of time spent on the material out of the classroom. It contains a lot of information that you must understand in order to apply it to tests, and even for life in general. She is entirely professional in her job and sees it as her responsibility to eliminate from consideration those who are not qualified to be in academic programs related to certain positions in the medical field.

This class is extremely difficult no matter who you take it with, but Prof. Martin does take the time to explain things clearly and dosen't treat you like an idiot for asking questions (unlike some profs). Lecture exams come straight from the notes so no need to buy the textbook, but be prepared to study every day if you want an A

This class is a hard class regardless of who you have as a professor. All of my other classes I got straight A's but I only got a c+ in this class. Her notes are all hand written and very fast. I don't comprehend anything during lecture cause it's so fast so I record it and study at home. Very hard class but good teacher

Excellent, I took her winter semester of 2014. She cares about all her students, very funny and makes sure she answers all your questions. Tests are difficult but if you study her notes everyday and not cram I promise that you will get an A. She always gives out stickers if you get an A. may sound childish but its nice to be rewarded. I LOVE PROFESSOR MARTIN! I actually took A&P with her back in the Fall of 2012. I just decided to post because everyone has been telling me how difficult A&P is. I got an A in her class but be prepared to work SUPER hard and study the charts and models because those are essential to pass! She's hilarious and notes are super clear! TAKE HER!!!!

Mrs. Martin is entertaining, tells stories to keep students interested. She is very clear and concise on what she expects. Do not expect extra credit, she rarely gives it. If she tells you it will be on the test, you bet it will be there. Only lab book was used daily. Study hard and prepare for hours of homework! You will work for your grade.

I love this class but you definitely have to work at it or you won't pass. Professor Martin is very willing to help. I'm currently in this class and it starts at 7:30am. I'm not much of a morning person but Professor Martin keeps my attention through the 2 hour lecture. Her reviews cover everything that is on the test since she makes them herself.

Yes, her notes are extremely long, but its A&P for crying out loud! she is a great teacher. Her lectures run the full 2 hours and lab one hour. Class never went longer than scheduled. I left lab early too. She offers like 4 pts extra credit throughout the semester and drops lowest quiz grade. She is very helpful when you ask! I had her 2x for A&P

She was a very good teacher. Honestly, this class is already hard itself. Her notes are all hand written, The only downfall was that her notes were too fast. Be prepared to have your wrist fall off from all the notes you're going to write. Overall, she was very clear and knew exactly how to teach the material. She's a good A&P teacher.

Her notes are clear as long as you study them and memorize them then you will honestly do well in her class. Yes she does give a lot of notes but you can type out your notes on your laptop if you have one. Does give some extra credit. lab isn't hard if you have questions then she will help you out. In the lecture there is a clear pattern. There is an overview of the material. The material is broken down and we were given a clear explanation of what we needed to know. Then it is summed up with an example. Yes you have to read some and work hard, it's a hard class. Very fair teacher and you will get a very good understanding of A&P.

Professor Martin is an amazing teacher. Studying everyday and going to the learning center is highly recommended. She does give 5 question true/ false pop quizzes which aren't hard as long as you study the previously taught lecture notes. She gives out review questions of each chapter to help with studying for the test.

I have never studied so much in my life; but all A&amp;P classes are insanely hard! Getting an A is achievable; I did. I studied 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week. It you want to succeed in this class, you must study a lot! Memorize her lecture notes. Make flashcards on Quizlet and memorize them like your life depends on it. 4 Lec exams-125 questions, 125 pts each 4 Lab exams-100 pts each 11 Pop-quizzes-5 T/F questions 10pts each (study previous lec notes) Go to the learning center, find a study buddy!

I just loved Professor Martin, whatever concept that she was talking about for that particular lesson was always compared to something in real life, it made the class much more enjoyable. As long as you study everyday, put the time and effort into the class, you will do well!

If you skip class and are looking for an easy A this is NOT the professor for you. She teaches with enthusiasm and has an authentic joy about the material.

Professor Martin is easily the best professor Ive ever had. She is so kind and caring. She gives great notes with review questions and her exams are right from her notes. You have 11 pop quizzes that are T/F throughout the semester so make sure you study a little bit every night. I loved professor Martin and would recommend her to anybody!

Martin is a great teacher. She really wants you to succeed, but you can only do that if you attend class every time. Lecture is tough, but go home and memorize word for word till you understand it. Lab is fairly easy. There are pop quizzes, 5 questions, T or F. Do good on those and lecture and lab you will be good. I enjoyed this class a lot.

I loved Professor Martin, she is very nice, great professor, explains very good, she wants us to succed, she is professional. But you need to study, there are a lot of material. It's worth it. Her class is enjoyable!

It was such a great class. The professor is not hard but fair. Her lecture exams are from her notes. She is amazing. Very respectful. Respects each student want everyone to succeed. There'slittle amount of extra credit. The only thing I didn't like was T/F Quizes. However, you need to STUDY not MEMORIZE. Learn the subject and have fun with it.

LOVED Martin. she goes above &amp; beyond to explain individual ideas and she has lots of experience teaching A&amp;P. don't be scared of this class, if you pay attention and try to understand the material as you listen to lecture, most of it will stick. she also associate ideas with pathology that helps connect the dots instead of blind memorization

Completely online due to covid-19 which was not a problem. She gave clear and straightforward guidelines on what was expected. Timed exams for both lecture and lab. It's simple: if you put in the work, you will get the grade you deserve. A&amp;P is naturally A LOT OF MATERIAL. You can't expect an A if you don't want to put in the work.

She's amazing! Best professor at MCC that you will get for this course. As long as you study you'll do great in this class.

Professor Martin does not have boring lectures. I always enjoyed laughing with her (well she didnt know because her lectures were recorded) but she was great. Fair grader. Always accessible. Just an all around good person. You wont be disappointed with her!

The best Professor for this course. I took some other courses and all i dropped since the first day with other Professors. I was told that she is the best and was scared to take the class with her because she may require a lot of information, but she clears everything during the zoom meetings, you just need to listen her videos before. Take her....

The best if you want to remember most of the things for your whole life. She makes you to remember, I used to have video calls or phones to clear things out. i remember I was about to drop her class because I was scared since I am new to the country and I remember her she said you can do it. I love her, I wished every Bio teacher is like her :))
