Highly recommend this class, it is great! he makes learning fun and interesting, he covers everything in the book without even opening it! his tests are 20 true false and the final is old questions! Attend class and you will do great! he is awesome!

Hyperactive in class, keeps you up, very interesting discussions, reviews before the test, tells it as it is, very knowledgeable on every topic, and if I keep going this box will not be enough. HIGHLY RECOMEND

Easy grade! He is full of hot air on his personal storie (BS!) But funny and enjoyable class. 20 true/false questions and the final was old questions.

He is the best history teacher ever! I wish he would teach other subjects. I would take him for all my classes. His class is simple you take notes and your test comes straight from those notes. I def recommend him to everyone.

Dr castillo is a good teacher. I took him in summer of 2007, he could go on all day talking about his achievements.It was the second history hence we watched alot of war movies.The exams were 20 ques,take home. I have never had a class that easy.I wish he taught other courses, like biology and other science courses.

Darell Castillo is an outstanding proffeser. His knowledge about the concepts that we as students face is completely coherent to his teaching. He is very understandable as he relates isues in society to our lives and he certainly has an outstanding understanding of the united states government. He is by far the greatest proffeser i have ever had!!

This guy is without a doubt one of the best teachers at the college. He is knowledgeable, funny, and he actually gives a dang about his students. I have taken his two history classes and his government class and have aced each one. If you can get him, take him.

This guy is off the chain. Took 1301, have signed up for his 1302, and will take his government class in the fall. If you can get his class, take his class, you will not regret it.

really cool teacher easy class if your easily offended dont take his class cause he dosent care and goes ahead and says it anyway bring him food and you will pass with a high grade but u do have to pay attention and do well on the tests. great teacher

This is by far the most out spoken teacher I have ever had. He is real easy to listen to and as long as you listen, you will get an A. Very funny btw, joke after joke, and he even lets you take a 5 minute break. I would highly recommend him as your history and govt teacher!

I had Ms.Marilyn Murphy last sem for history 2 & still likes her better than Dr.Castillo.She's funnier than him.He's ok but he's going too fast when we are taking notes and there're many words that I couldn't follow.20 T/F questions on the exams isn't easy for me because you'll loss 5points for getting 1 wrong.and 1 term paper,i hate writing paper!

Great teacher, loved his class, but if you are easily offended you might not want to take him. The test are all open book/open notes except for final. Take good notes and pay attention, and you will learn history without realizing it.

TOTALLY AWESOME PROFESSOR! College is all about having an open mind, and this guy helps you keep one. Easiest class I've taken yet. Open-book everything, except final. If you pay attention and take excellent notes (no need for the textbook), then an A+ is a no-brainer. Term paper seems intimidating but is not that hard. Castillo ROCKS!

I've taken Professor Castillo's DL class and I made a B+. If I hadn't stretched my self so thin with other classes, work, and kids, then I definatley think I would've made an A. Class was simple but wasn't fond of the textbook. I would've like to have had chapter reviews or something. Probably the only student asking for more work! Would take again

I absolutely hate government and history but this professor made everything easy to understand. He doesn?t care whether your late or don?t show up but I wouldn?t recommend it. He doesn?t use the text but lectures the whole time and you need to hear all of it. While talking he will say if the following sentence will be on the test or not. Easy.

he teaches govt 1&2 as well as both history. He is very funny, he explains things in ways you can understand them. Most of his test are open book or take home, no homework, 4 test. EASY CLASS!!!!

Took his class online. You had 4 tests (online), 9 200-word essays (one a week), and 4 DB posts. As long as you put effort in the class you will pass.

Professor Castillo is the best professor I have had so far. I took him for U.S. Government in Spring 2010. His lectures are great and current. He is not a conventional professor. He is smart & intelligent. His class is easy. There are 3 major tests (True/False), 1 major paper and the final (True/False). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

great man, is quite entertaining. keep students on their toes with a teaching style that mixes your friends, your pastor, and your father. the man believes in what he teaches. take him he is fantastic

Darrell is an excellent teacher! He loves what he does and it shows! Take notes in class and you WILL pass. He enjoys debate, and is impressed when students stand up for their views, especially when they differ from his. Recognizes his students as adults, and does not treat them like children. I HIGHLY recommend this teacher!!!!!

I would recommend this class toa any mature individual. Mr. Castillo is a great teacher. He is funny, and very entertaining. Despite the fact that he brags about all the $ he has & he only teaches for fun, the class is too easy. No hw. 3 quizzes, 3 tests, 1 term paper. All the tests and quizzes are T/F. No need to buy the book. Easy "A".

BEST TEACHER ON CAMPUS!!! as previously stated, he will keep your interest in class. It was stressed that this class is super easy, and to that i really want to add that it is also extremely informative. I have to strongly agree with the previous statement not to pass up the chance to take Dr. Castillo's classes.

Easiest class in college I have ever taken. He use to work for the president, really cool guy. only home work was 1 essay. Tests were all copies of the reviews & he gives you the answers to them. Knows his stuff, IS HILARIOUS! Taking him again in the Spring! Take as many of his classes as you can. Very good person and tries to help you.

I have to admit that his way of teaching attracts many students, I found his class very informative, way to informative on not so useful matters, yes he is a teacher whom keeps the class fresh, you will not get bored. But sometimes he is very direct and not all the time he is right, sending the wrong concept as an educator really makes a difference

VERY AWESOME PROFESSOR! He used to work in the White House in the National Security Council, so he knows his stuff! He is very passionate and opinionated, which is awesome! He is also very nice and doesn't mind helping students out from time to time. All quizzes and test are T/F. Got a 99 in his class. TAKE HIM!

This teacher is very intelligent and makes the material stick in your head, he maybe a bit ruff around the edges and sometimes a little vulgar but I actually learned in his class! After all isn't that what we're in college for?

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. His class is so interesting and fun he makes you want to attend. There is not much homework or studying required just had one term paper a couple of quizzes and tests. You will learn all the material and he does not surprise you with something you've never seen before like other professors.

The best professor ive ever had! This is my 4th class taking him and im really upset Ive finished all the classes he teaches. Tests are easy, quizzes are easy, notes are told in a very informative, entertaining way. open book tests. no need to get the book as it all comes from the notes. he puts copies of the notes in the library for anyone to copy

This teacher is AMAZING!!!! I use to hate hate hate history until I took this class. Professor Castillo is a rare gem he cares about his students and will let you know ahead of time when tests are coming up. Take notes especially his T/F ones. His teaching methods are my style and enjoy going to his class every day :-D

Awesome teacher. Hilarious, fun to listen to, and never a dull moment. He uses adult language, as well as well-known racial and gender stereotypes to illustrate certain events and norms from the past, so this isn't for the easily offended. Unpredictable tests and quizzes, but easy and all T/F. Must attend class for notes, so not for slackers.

This class is not for the easily offended, as Mr. Castillo uses a lot of adult language, epithets, and stereotypes just to make a point. He is not in any way bigoted, though. I thought his lectures were kind of boring because he spent so much time discussing warfare and nuclear weapons, things that I really have no interest in, but that's just me.

Good teacher. if you dont understand the subject he will go over the subject as much as you need it.

I enjoyed his online class. Nine short essays a choice between two topics, four discussion boards and four exams. Agenda is straight forward. You have 2 chances for each exam. I learned alot. Professor answered my emails and I even called him and he talked to me. He does not round I was .8 tenths from a A.

BEST PROFESSOR YOU'LL TAKE! Learned the most out of any classes so far. We never used the book, solely based off of his lectures (No Power Points)! Highly recommend! A lot of personal stories relating to government which made it that much easier to remember!

Professor Castillo is the best professor ever! His lectures are very interesting. I have learned more in his class than any so far. I like the fact that he is open minded, with whatever your opinion may be. He won't criticize you for having a different opinion than his. Take his class!! It is a great experience!

I took him online, you WILL need the text book. He gives 9 short essay assignments and 4 tests (with chances to retake them), no quizzes, so its pretty easy to pass. I got an A.

Wonderful teacher! I learned a lot, and he makes sure to keep his lectures interesting. He doesn't use the textbook often. He mixes up the way the tests are taken. I would recommend him and I will continue to take his classes throughout college!

A great Proff. He answered all questions. He is helpful, and nice. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. He gives power point presentations, and sometimes doesn't follow the book, but is more effective at teaching than the book! I learned quite a bit from his class.

Mr. Castillo is a great instructor. He tells you what is expected in his class. His assignments are online and all you have to do is get it done. He won't tell you when to do it just be able to keep up with your assignments. I recommend him to anyone. The best by far!

I had Dr. Castillo for Tx and Federal government, and he was by far my favorite professor. He is very blunt and definitely speaks his mind regarding many sensitive topics, but I enjoyed his lectures and thought he had a great perspective on a lot of things. All of his work is online, and most of it is pretty easy. 100% would recommend his class!!

He's a great professor who knows what he's talking about and has plenty of real-world experience in government. He doesn't hesitate to speak his mind and talk about divisive political issues. You get minimum 2 attempts for all quizzes and tests, we were given 3 attempts for our final exam. You get basically an entire month to complete sections.
