one of my favorite teachers. do the work in lab and you'll be fine. grades on a curve which is helpful. rewards hard work.

Class is very organized.He is a difficult teacher, but let's you know exactly what is expected of you.You can be sure when you have finished the course you are well prepared for furher courses. He did on occassion make inappropriate comments to students.

He is very structured and lets you know exactly what he expects, but he is not real helpful. If he explains something once and you don't understand, then he makes you feel stupid for asking him to further explain.

Challenging, difficult, ego-centric, clear, precise, fair, proven instructor, demanding, likes young pretty girl students, plays favorites, very enjoyable lectures and one class from him is enough!

I learned so much in this class

Anatomy with Darrel was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. At first glance I dident like Darrel, but once you got past his ego it turns out to be a great class. If I had it to do over I would take it in a heartbeat. I learned more and was forced to study more for this class then anyother class I have ever taken. All in all great teacher.

Great teacher! He made it very interesting. Be ready to work your ass off though. If your not, don't take it. He gives plenty of extra credit which comes in handy and if you are running above a 90% no final exam.

Overall Great teacher ,but you must take the time to study all material given,If not you will fail.

Everything is pretty much written out for you. A little application goes a long way. He exxpects you to be self-motivated and to do your part of work before he will do more than he already does in the clear outlines of the course, what you need to know, and how you will be tested. He comes across mean- but is an EXCELLENT teacher.

I think he has been teaching this class for a million years, so i get his dry sense of humor. i think I would have it too after hearing about 5 million students' "anatomy" stories. He lays it all out for you: either you study and pass or don't study and fail. He obviously knows his stuff. If you are able to self modivate, take him. if not, don't!

I think Davies is a good teacher. He has very strict rules, and can come across as being rude; however i think this is unintentional. The class is very hard, but not because he isn't a good teacher, just because the amount of material and the content - which can be complicated. d

His personality may come off as 'rude' to some, but he lays the guidelines clearly and expects that everyone will be an 'adult learner'. It's a tough class. Deal with it. He is very clear in expectations and what you need to do to succeed. He lets you figure stuff out for yourself first because you remember it that way. My only gripe is he is not always on time, and during testing he will stop and tell a joke between every question, breaking up the flow of the test. Can be brash.

He really knows his stuff. There is a lot of studying outside of class you must commit to. He stresses the idea of actually reading your book. He cares about how well students do, he showed that by making his 4 lecture exams take-home ones. He outlines everything for you. If you have the capability to pay attention and study you will do fine.

Great professor! Be ready to spend a lot of time studying in A.D.A.M though!

Mr Davies was awesome. Very clear on his expectations. If you attend class and want to learn the actual subject, he's the best. I was back to college after 6 years off and he was such a pleasure to have as a professor.

An expert in the topic. Helps those who first help themselves. Rewards are good for students who do the work and follow his complete and clear directions. You better like looking at the body on a computer screen (ADAM). He is not interested in comforting slackers though. Fantastic experience in my college career so far. I really know my anatomy!

anatomy and physiology....not an easy course. Go to class, do your homework. He won't do it for you, it's your job. excellent teacher...open for respectful debate. One of the few teacher I remember at KVCC. If you really want to learn take his course, if you are here for an easy grade, it won't happen

Davies presents a very organized and challenging course. If you read, follow directions, and take advantage of all the opportunities he offers, you will do fine. If you him to learn for you, forget it. He is one of the BEST teachers I have had in 4 years of school. Lots of material and outside of class study.

AWESOME! Makes learning about the body fun & interesting. His class is challenging but do-able. Lots of memorization, but he lets you know EXACTLY what will be on your tests, so there's no confusion. And gives opportunity for extra points for going to open lab! I'd definitely recommend him to anyone, he'll help you succeed!

He is very clear and a good teacher of the material. I think that he does not want anyone to get a 4.0. He soes make the class harder than it needs to be. The material is not that difficult. He makes it hard test wise (on purpose)

He really is a great instructor. He is thorough and if you have a question that he doesn't know the answer to he will figure out the answer. I think the problem that I had, and most students have, is that it feels like he is talking down to his students. Like he is tired of dealing with us. Otherwise, this is a hard course, its college people.

Fantastic teacher! Hard class but he gives you everything you need to succeed in this class. Just have to be committed to doing the work if you want a good grade! Dry sense of humor but entertaining and always willing to help out where ever needed. Great instructor :0)

I am an older student than the average C.C. type. I have seen the world as it really is. Davies knows how it is too, and makes his students work accordingly. Hard work pays off, that simple. What a free bee? Not in this class. You will get what you earn, that simple. Little work in equals little grade out. Love Davies' style and thoroughness

Wow! Great lecturer, helpful when you ask. He lets you learn on your own pace and style. Must work hard to get good grade. Learned a lot indeed. Davies knows his stuff, has written some of the course materials, and uses them all. Lots of stuff provided on line to help you. No mysteries about what you must know, there's just a lot of stuff.

Really good class, and he's a great teacher. He's super sarcastic and a little harsh, but he knows his stuff really well. His tests are very hard and require a lot of study time. I've never worked so hard for a class and only received a B, but I learned way more from his class than any other class I've taken.

Good Teacher, explained things clearly. Lectures exams are super easy! Hardest part is memorizing body parts! Dont buy the book; not needed!He gives plenty of info and records all lectues!

Davies is a great guy and has a great personality but when he gets asked a question he is a little condescending and sarcastic. Great teacher but super hard class where you almost have to teach yourself. No "mysteries" just a lot of stress

DON'T FALL BEHIND! Know what is expected of you, and get on Davies' good side early on. He really respects people who work hard and do their best. Midterm, final, and vocab quizzes are multiple choice, but on lab exams you have to write out all answers from memory. He offers about 30 pts extra credit during the semester. Be prepared to STUDY!

Thing is I was home schooled. I was prepared to follow his instructions and keep up with the continuous workload on my own. If you need hand holding to succeed, this is not a class for you. Otherwise, everything was clear, concise, and on time. Davies records all lectures in case you miss a class you can access the content. Great teacher!

Very tough class, but not impossible if you are ready to work for it? He tells you exactly what he expects, and gives you lots of tools to succeed in this class, there really aren't any surprises. I enjoyed his sarcastic sense of humor and always responded quickly to my endless emails. I loved that all the lectures were recorded.

Very good instructor. He would always make it clear what assignments needed to be done and lectures were very helpful. His sense of humor was enjoyable and he was always willing to help.

Davies is very cool. If you have questions for him, ask them during lab; this time is more personal. He loves students who are serious with a sense of humor

Funny guy, gives a very clear outline for the class but, very tough grader. I am a B average student, have never failed a class and i now have to withdraw because the way his grading is, im failing. Takes a lot of attention and time so beware to have no social life. Studied my butt off and kept failing test.

Davies is a wonderful professor and, though I've never studied harder for a class in my life, I passed with with a 4.0. Most definitely a difficult class. Don't expect a good grade on his lab exams if you don't study. I probably spent 20+ hours studying for each lab exam.

Amazing teacher. Mr Davies requires you to put in the time needed to do well in his class. Answers for the lab tests are handed to you... as you only need to memorize them. Memorization is the key to this class. He has no sympathy for incorrect or partially correct answers because he gives 100% of the resources with his exact answers.

By far best professor at KVCC so far. Fair grader. Tells you exactly what is going to be on the exams, no surprises. Willing to help if you need it. Up to 30 points extra credit.

I loved taking him for Anatomy amazing teaching style and he's funny too. If you are a lazy student yes he's hard for you You need to study hard, but he's fair when he grades

I reviewed a 4.0 in this class if you take advantage of every extra credit opportunity he gives (which is 30pts worth) it gives you a lot of cushion. He gives you all testing material that will be on the tests. Also you have 4 take homes test that are pass/fail at 90%. Challenging info but if you study you will do awesome! MEMORIZATION IS KEY!!!!

Davies is very organized, he has your notes outlined and the lab work color coordinated. He doesn't put anything on the tests that he has not mentioned. The take home quizzes are 90 or fail but they aren't difficult, I did notice it helps to do them right after lectures when the information is fresh and they are what I used to study for the final.

He gives you all of the material you will need right at the beginning including lecture note outlines. Take home tests are pass fail but you can print them out and find answers as you go through lectures. He also records all lectures and puts them on moodle if you ever have to miss or need to go back and listen to something. Tons of extra credit!!

You must read and follow the directions he supplies. He has no sympathy for those who lose credit because they fail to follow his directions. All info is available on line 24/7, he even records lectures. Lots of work memorizing things. Davies knows what he's doing. You just have to buy into his system to succeed.

If you want to learn this is the professor for you! I learned so much but you have to do the work and study hard!

I would take another biology class with him. He gave you everything you needed to pass a week before the class even started. He makes class interesting . He offers extra credit. Her updates Moodle every week. You can email him if you have a question about your grade. He tells you everything he expects you to do. Awesome Professor

If you want to understand what you are learning take it with Davies

Darrell gives you every single thing you need to succeed. I enjoyed this class a lot. It requires a lot of studying out of class and attending lectures and labs are crutial to understanding the material. If you have any questions ask him, hes very helpful. The material isnt hard its just time consuming. Study and youll be fine. Loved this class

Great teacher. He really knows his stuff. You will need to study in order to pass his class and should go to all of the lectures . He tells you up front how the class will be and If you listen you will do fine

He doesnt require attendance but in order to get a decent grade, I would recommend attending each class. Study, study, study. The lab exams and pre quizzes require you to memorize a lot so start studying for those right away. The lab portion is basically memorization whereas the lecture portion is more critical thinking.

He is very clear about what you will be doing in class and in the lab. He gives you all the answers and shows you what you will be tested on in the lab practicals, all you have to do is study hard. The THO opportunities are generally easy if you attend all lectures.

Davies is a very tough teacher, but he gives you everything you need to know in your manual. He always says " I don't like mysteries " He is very funny! you need to be VERY SPECIFIC on your answers on tests, especially your lab answers. I feel if you apply your self in this class, you wont have a problem. He also gives a lot of extra credit!

Darrell is a great professor. As long as you work for it and spend time memorizing you will do fine. He has 30 points of extra credit which is pretty easy to do and very helpful. Show up to class in order to understand the lecture material and to do well on the lecture tests. Be SUPER specific on lab tests.

I learned so much by taking his class. You are forced to study a lot so you actually learn the material. He sets you up for success you just have to put in the time. He is a nice guy but very strict against cheating. Get on his good side and you will be very happy with the class.

Darrell is a very good professor if you put in the time and effort. You have everything you need to 4 point the class in the first day, just depends on if you motivate yourself or not. Study the A.D.A.M slides and youll do fine. Its all about what you put into the class. He cannot make you learn, but he can help you.

He is the best teacher I have ever had in my life. Take him if you want to learn something.
