professor hamamoto speaks the truth. he's quite clear in what he expects from students: to quit being a dancing chicken and pull your head out of your a**. if you can do that, you'll do fine in the course. extra note: he hates skateboards and do not, for the love of god, be late for class--he WILL call you out.

also, to those who have labeled him as arrogant or condescending, i would have to disagree. he's dead serious about the issues that he presents in lecture, and i found him to be genuinely interested in helping his students succeed. make use of his office hours, he's very approachable and easy to talk to when outside of the classroom setting.

Your grade really depends on which TA you get. My TA graded hard, so I got a B. Hamamoto opened my eyes and let me see the other side of a lot of political issues. Even though at first I really hated him, he has a lot of interesting things to say about Asians and the New World Order. You should take him for a class.

His lectures tends to revolve about eugenics, population control, etc. all forms that affect Asian American Sexuality. He will teach for the whole 2 hours! Do not arrive late or else you will be waiting outside until he allows you to come in. Go to office hours, he's really a nice guy in there, he's human after all. Exam was mediocre, so study.

This guy may seem kinda nutty at first, but once you follow up on his sources - mainly "Sorrows of Empire" - you'll find that he knows what he's talking about and that the things he says you should at least consider if not take them very seriously. Facts of the matter are that many of the "controversial" things he says are true.

Hamamoto might seem like a conspiracy junky but he backs it up with evidence and he is EXTREMELY straight forward. He doesnt want to "spoon feed" you. He cares about his students in a non-caring/tough love kinda way. H wants you to learn as a student with our heads screwed correctly on our shoulders. DONT BE LATE,DONT BRING A SKATE BOARD TO CLASS!!

WE NEED MORE PROFESSORS like HIM! I agree w/ + & some of the - comments about ProfH. Sure if i happened to be the late student or miss his class & he caught me,i probably won't like him 2 much in the beginning either. But don't take his bluntness for arrogance & his boldness to approach u as condescending,....continued on next RAITNG.

continued comment 4m prior....don't take his boldness to approach as condescending, it's just his way to shake us 4m our Celebrity media world & makes us aware of the ugly finite facts about our US society. I found him intimidating at 1st but he's not a bad prof at all. I respect his form of teaching & his message to students. KEEP UP it Prof DH!

I just commented recently about Prof H & i think the key thing i encourage ALL NEW students taking him is to just be PATIENT in understanding the gist of his lectures. In the 1st week, many students will easily find his lectures to be convoluted & possibly bogus but i encourage all to be patient & then decide 4 urself to stay or not.

this guy is pretty weird. his lectures are all about conspiracy theorys. i fell asleep in every class (except the midterms). the TA's are really helpful though. you should go to discussion in order to understand what he is talking about in lecture. you dont really need to read or even buy the books. pretty easy A though. take it if you want :]

He isn't difficult if you go to lectures, but he never admits fault if it will affect his reputation. I found him too judgmental of non-Asian cultures and I'm Asian. Straight forward is fine, but not when he's insulting modern non-Asians left and right. But if you're not sensitive and Asian, you'll probably get his humor.

Prof Hamamoto's lectures are very hard to understand because he always goes off topic and rant about random stuff. Don't need to read the books. The TA's are AWESOME! They are super helpful because the notes they take during lectures actually make sense and are really clear and organized! They are pretty easy graders too. Overall an easy class.

His lectures freaked me out at first because his ideas are really radical but after a couple more classes you understand his views. He does ramble and go off topic. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. My TA was helpful and understanding. Midterms and finals are papers-do them and make sure to note the ideas prof have explained.

Has really radical ideas that open your eyes to a different perspective of the world. Some of the things he mentions in class are quite true if you conduct your own research on the side. Attendance is mandatory, don't be late. Critique the white supremacy & illuminati while applying the things he showed in class and you'll get at least a B.

Dr. Hamamoto is an awesome scholar and his lecture may not be easily understood if you are not willing to think beyond the boundaries of convention or have never been challenged to think carefully the topics that he raises in his class. He may appear to be a bit harsh, but that's because he truly cares about his students and what he teaches.

Professor Hamamoto teaches you to be wary of the world post-graduation. Learn the history, theory, and apply them to whatever field you choose after you leave UC Davis. Even after 15 years, he still responds to my emails and phone calls and gives great advice regarding ASA issues and my professional and academic questions. He's wonderful.

Cool professor, prior to coming to Davis I had taken professors that have taught similar material to Hamamoto. Alot of people may denounce his findings bc it sounds new, but he knows his stuff, and he is pretty chill during office hours as well. He shows interesting video clips. It gives you an insight on how ASAs adapted to US society.

Wow, seems like yesterday I was looking up Prof. Hamamoto's street rep right here. I was really curious about him from reading the reviews. I've always been a straight shooter when it comes to reality and hate to sugarcoat things. It's so hard to have a teacher who thinks the same way. And Prof. Hamamoto didn't disappoint. (Unfinished)

Con'd: This class is pretty easy. You go to lectures once a week. It's 4 hours including film watching. It's entertaining but he makes you think and observe the world around us. I took one star off each for clarity and easiness because the weekly essay prompts are sometimes too constrained on one specific topic or a little misunderstanding.

Professor Hamamoto is one of a kind in UC Davis. His class is an eye-opening experience. This class is targeted toward international students, and as one myself I wish I had taken this class 4 years ago when I first landed in the States (this class is new this quarter). Professor Hamamoto will answer any question you have with insightful remarks.

Dr. Hamamoto is the true truth seeker, and at the end of the day he genuinely cares about his students' futures. Students who gang-stalk his classes may believe they have a higher purpose by poorly censuring and distracting Dr. Hamamoto during his lectures, but in reality they are really disrupting other students' education. And that's not right.

STAY AWAY. Taking this class was a mistake but I needed it for GE credit. Class does not discuss Asian American sexuality and loves to talk about conspiracy theories. Teaches mainly using YouTube videos. Good class if you don't like feminists/the government/UC Davis/political correctness. Will shoot you down if you don't agree
