Dull voice makes you want to fall asleep, but can be funny at times.

2 exams + research paper...how much easier can it get?
fall asleep in class, tests are hard, but a cool guy, go see him for help
Funny guy, class pretty interesting. Tests a little hard, but overall easy class
One of the most enjoyable classes.
i loved this guy. he's fun to listen to.
interesting lectures, not too much work, recomended!
Lectures cover enough that you don't need the book. Doesnt assign too much work
I think he just likes to hear himself talk, but a knowledgable guy
interesting lectures, like listening to a story, pretty cool guy
tests are pretty hard, research paper is 50% of your grade! barely any work
No Comments
tests are not easy, they cover all the lectures, paper worth 50% of your grade!
his lectures can be hysterical. Kind of hard tests, but not that hard of a grader, not much work.
I used two credit, no credits to take both classes. Hard to get an A, but a very interesting teacher.

A smart teacher, but gives challenging tests. There isn't much work for the class but if you mess up on one of the three assignments, it's rough getting back on track. Definitely take good notes.
He lectures are boring and tests hard but if you take good notes and read it isn't that bad, does have an attendance policy though
He IS the white rabbit. Lots of work but if you do it he'll show you just how deep the rabbit hole goes...
He's okay. Tests are REALLY hard, so take very good notes. Attendance policy, which is annoying. Only a midterm, final, and a paper. Not too tough kids.
i wrote an essay that was just like what was said in class and i failed it and i dont understand why.
Test's are hard, all he does is lecture so expect many notes. Only 2 tests and in class writing assignment. Looks like Gene Hackman, cool guy.
In order to pass this class you have to actually pay attention. His tests are straight from his lectures and your notes. Just take good notes and study and you will be fine
Really cool guy. His tests are hard so take good notes. Some think his lectures are confusing but he knows his stuff. Can be funny at times.
The beginning of the course is boring as hell, but the class gets really interesting, so just stick with it. Very interesting teacher who is very fair to everybody. Two MC Tests and two Essay Tests. Final wasn't cumulative.
He was very interesting and definately knew alot about history. The class just doesnt fit the description. I also took notes every day and studied them and got a C and a D on the tests. There are only 4 grades also which makes it harder to make up grad
I don't understand why people say this class is hard - go to the lectures, take good notes and read some of the chapters - I got an A and studied ~1hr before each test. Nash is a great guy, interesting if you like history, and definitely knows his stuff.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!
I love Dr.Nash to death. He makes his extensive knowledge of history funny and entertaining by incorporating all the gossip no one really knows about. Only 2 quizzes and 2 tests..easy if you read the textbook chapters AND your notes from class.
I like him as a prof alot. I highly recommend him. The deal with his tests is this: take clear and good notes and study them so that can you recite it back. Answer ALL of his ?s that he asks in every essay ? and you'll do fine.
Hard but very good. Nice guy. tests come straight from the notes. Papers are difficult.
i'm taking two history classes now, but i always refer to dr. nash as "my SMART history teacher." he makes the class very fun and interesting. take him!
Not an easy teacher or that nice of a guy. Extremely hard class, whoever said this class was easy is definitely lying. He stands in front of the class and lectures the whole time while u kill your hand to write down everything he says. My advice stay away!
Very good teacher, gives very interesting, thorough lectures. Take a lot of notes! Tests are hard, so pay attention to detail. Nice, funny guy.
This guy is the definition of awesome. Class is tough at times but overall its not bad. He makes it interesting which is definitely a plus for the topic
cutest old man ever!! he always has his little stories in the beginning of class that he thinks are so hilarious. tests arent bad, he gives you tons of essay options and you only have to write one. so study one major event extensively and you'll be fine!
Mr. Nash is without a doubt the funniest history teacher I've ever had. I especially enjoyed the gestures when he demonstrated military equipment and weapons. Great teacher.
Very good history proffesor. If you don't have much background in Euro History, it's a lot of reading. Other than that, the tests and quizzes aren't too bad for a history course, and Mr. Nash is a really smart, knowledgable guy. Highly recommend.
Make sure to read..you will be completely lost if you don't. He goes off topic a lot too. A tape recorder is a good idea to have for the class. It personally is my least favorite class but everyone has their own opinion. My biggest suggestion is to make sure to pay attention or READ READ READDDD
It's a difficult class that required A LOT of reading. you can't just study your notes, but you have to read the book too. prof nash is really nice and passionate about the topic, which makes the class better. he takes attendance every day.
He is such an awesome teacher!! I love him so much, and he knows soooo much about what he teaches. seriously i think he knows everything, and he's very interesting to listen to. I take A LOT of notes though, its a lot to remember, and also the class requires reading if you dont know much about european history to start with. but nash is awesome
Nash is a really smart guy, but he is not a good teacher. He knows everything you could ever want to know about history, and he expects you to know just as much as he does. There are only 4 grades-2 quizzes and 2 writing assignments-and EACH one counts 25% of your grade. Quizzes are impossible and are on the most random topics ever. AVOID this man!
Forget attempting to study for the multiple choice quizzes--not worth your time or effort!! I've never gotten bellow a B in history till I took his class. Doesn't matter how much you know--it won't be on the test. Only thing that saved me was that I know how to write. If you can't write, don't take the class!!!
This class blows! He's so hard. The tests are completely random and rarely based on anything he discusses in class or anything that you read. He's a nice enough guy, but not very helpful, and he loves going off on trivial tangents of no importance. It's 3 weeks from the end of the sem. & all we got to was WWI (it's supposed to be on RECENT issues!)
he is fascinating and really smart. he rambles on about historical details and really knows what he is talking about. the tests are absolutely ridiculous though, because he doesn't teach according to the reading or the syllabus and his tests are never on what he teaches, so you have to do all the reading and take notes from that. hes really funny.
take him! he's such a great, incredibly smart teacher. i really enjoy going to his class, its never boring. the tests are hard though, but if you do your reading on the syllabus and take notes on it, you can definitely pass. he also curves to help you out.
This is my favorite class of the day. He is extremely intelligent, nice, and funny as hell. Sometimes he goes off on topics that aren't necessarily important to what we're studying and because of that we get behind but then again it's a recent issues class so it's cool when he brings up issues that are going on in the world right now.
DO NOT TAKE. He is a really interesting/nice teacher, but as a test giver he is TERRIBLE. Nothing that he talks about in class or gives readings on are on his tests. Takes attendance everyday. Nice guy, but ridiculous with tests and grades.
this guy is smart and nice, but his class is all lecture, and you are frantically trying to copy everything he says. you never know quite what to study. this class can be interesting at times, so if you are a history buff and like a challenge, this may be the class for you.
He was nice I guess, but boring at times and not clear about tests. I took a lot of notes and probably half of them were worthless
Really good Professor!! His tests are difficult, but if you actually study, they shouldn't be a problem. I think the people who complain about him expect to get through the class without studying at all, and thats not going to work. Definitely take his class if you are truly interested in the subject!!
Okay, first of all, this is a 400 level class, so of course it's going to be hard! This man is packed full of knowledge! Great class! Study your butt of though, and the tests are hard, but you LEARN in this class.
VERY nice man. But. As a military historian, he is the only man I know who could possibly make a subject I love incredibly boring. Meixsel was better. He's really a nice guy though, and the tests are straight forward and easy.
decent lecturer, takes way too long on subjects. Regularly keeps class after its time to leave. Use about 10% of lecture material for test. After asking for an extension nicely, he responsed with extreme sarcasm and lack of understanding.
Professor Nash is a plethera of knowledge. He knows so much about anything and everything to do with history. On the other hand, all he did EVERY day for class was lecture for 50 minutes straight. His quizzes are difficult, but not impossible. You have to anaylze stuff in-depth with him. The grade you get is what you put into the class.
First of all, my definition of "recent global history" was completely different than his. His definition of recent is 400 years ago. He is a very intelligent man who could probably win jepordy with all of his useless facts. He is a nice guy but his tests and quizzes are impossible. I studied a lot for his tests and ended with a C in the class.
COuld write the most interesting history book with side notes that make the entire length of the lecture worth it, very funny and witty man. 5 small papers worth 50%, final and midterm worth 50%. dont have to read, listen to the lectures. need book for assignments. overall good.
He has a good sense of humor most of the time. Is very old school in his lectures and quizzes/tests.

He's a nice man, really, he is. And some people say that his class is super easy, but I don't think so. He's not very clear and doesn't give out study guides for tests so it makes it pretty difficult. All lecture, barely ever a visual, really boring. If you like history, you can handle him. If you don't like history, I wouldn't advise it.
Nash is an adorable old man who seems to know everything about European history, and his class is pretty easy to get through if you pay attention and write the essays well. However, I'm much more interested in GLOBAL history, which is what his class is supposed to be; instead, we only ever hear about Europe, which can get a little old.
His lectures are pretty boring for the most part, but I found it really interesting to learn from the German point of view during the early part of the 20th century. It's a neglected view here in America. I never knew so much about Hitler. There's so much more to him than the brief blurbs about the Holocaust you hear in high school. It's fascinatin
He is pretty easy, but he does not let you improve your grades AT ALL. You are absolutely stuck with what you get. If he doesn't like your type of writing then he will grade hard. It is easy to conform to him though. My first paper I got an "F" and the last paper I got an "A," hes really boring, but not too hard
Allows you to miss six classes before it affects your grade, he really is the cutest old man, was wearing three piece suits when it was 78 degrees outside! his lectures can get kind of boring, but if you listen they are interesting and the last three weeks of class he did slide shows almost every class, and the 1 pg. papers are easy, take him!
This was a once-a-week 3-hour Historic Preservation class. The exams were RIDICULOUSLY HARD and didn't cover much material from lecture, they were mostly from the numerous obscure readings. The project was challenging but I liked it. Hilarious guy who livened up the class. This class screwed up my perfect History GPA, but I guess I'll get over it.
Extremely boring but cute old man. The class is pretty easy. The grades are based only on 4 papers you turn in (1 page each and very easy) and two essay exams, so don't take him if you hate writing. I didn't listen to any of his lectures and only skimmed the material in the book and managed to get a B.
He's wonderful! He really looks like your classical professor. He doesn't just teach you material, but also teaches all the interesting background tidbits, so you really do learn from him. You write a little bit, but nothing is too hard as long as you go to class and just listen to him and write it all down in your notes. Can't help but love him!
Always looked forward to this class. He's so intelligent and his lectures always include interesting info you couldn't get from the book. He's actually pretty funny every once in a while. Two quizzes and two essay tests, not difficult at all if you take notes in class and read the book. Allowed 4 unexcused absences. Overall good class.
This class was horrible...I didn't learn anything from it and honestly...what he taught us had NOTHING to do what the actual class was about. The class is about CURRENT events and I'm pretty sure WWI has nothing to do with current issues in our world. I don't understand the good reviews on here, cause everybody in my class couldn't stand him.
Kindly and respectable man who knows an awful lot about history. Good attendance policy (6 unexcused absences). Assigned 4 1-page (single spaced) papers throughout the course of the semester, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Midterm and final have the potential to be rough so make sure you know the material well. Take this class!
Prof Nash is one of the nicest, most understanding professors you will ever have. It was a pleasure being in his class. I even signed up for another of his classes next semester. He is intelligent and very helpful. While the material is hard, he does his best to make it interesting. He is such a nice person! Highly recommend him!
He is an awesome professor and a really nice guy. He does his best to make the material (which can be a tough dry at times) interesting. I have enjoyed talking with him outside of class. I highly recommend him! He is one of the best and sweetest!
He good professor but I learned little Spanish the whole semester. He talk much on military stuff...weird for spanish but cool. YEAH!!!
أعجبتني هذه الدرجة ولكنه لم يعلم لي الكثير العربية. وتحدث ع
extremely boring class... I wanted to fall asleep, I pretty much had to force myself to listen. He is very nice, but there is no student interaction, he talks the entire time. You will enjoy this class if you are interested in the military!! He really loves his subject though!
Nash is so funny! He was the best professor ive had so far. He would always crack jokes and get the entire class laughing. Im taking him next semester because I liked him so much. Hes such a cool guy!
Nash is extremely boring! the only grades are 3 papers, which he never tells you anything about, and a midterm/final, both which he gives almost no information about. I wouldnt recommend this class.
I loved him. I actually looked forward to his class. His classes are ALL lecture and he takes history from a mostly military standpoint. I think it was because he was a Colonel in the army. Anyways, there are only three papers (one page) and two tests. He doesn;t give any guidance on papers though. Overall, the class is an easy A or B.
Okay everyone keeps saying this class is hard but here's the trick. Go to class and literally...write down EVERYTHING HE SAYS. Then memorize it, and you're golden. It wasn't that hard for me to remember the stuff cause I like history. But people keep failing his tests and papers when all you have to do on them is regurgitate what he says in class.
The beginning of the semester was really boring. However, once he started lecturing (it's 100% lecture) about topics that interested him the class was extremely interesting. Make sure you read the textbook because he only covers certain topics in class. The class isn't extremely difficult, just show up and pay attention, he's very old-school
Professor Nash is a good professor but his lectures are very long and he sometimes goes off on tangents. In a whole semester we only covered from the industrial revolution to WWII, when we were supposed to get to the end of the cold war and then discuss current issues. His grading on papers is somewhat unclear and he grades like its a writing class
The class starts real slow, but he loves the World Wars. Once you hit there, it gets very interesting. He knows so much about them. Attendance is required, but he takes "I was sick" as an excused absence. It is all lecture and reading (not much though). The quizzes can be tough, but the writings aren't bad. He makes a hilarious joke every class.
Very cool guy. His class consists of lecture, and reading from the textbook. If you really enjoy listening to military exploits throughout history, this is your man. I loved going to class. He cracks jokes in a very unique, mature way and they came off hilarious to my class. Two 2-page essays, a few quizzes and a midterm and an exam. Take him.
HARD. don't take if you don't want to put work into it. 5 grades, 2 quizzes worth 25%, midterm writing exercise worth 25%, analytical paper worth 25%, and final writing exercise worth 25%. very interesting class, straight lectures, allows 6 absences, just a very tough grader. he knows his history though.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He's a tough grader and only has a few grades for the semester. His class is all lecture and some book, but his lectures are hard to stay awake it. He can sometimes be funny but he's overall really hard and unclear about assignments.
Nash is so adorable and funny, but this class is no joke. The tests are pretty difficult and he doesn't ever really tell you what he wants in the writings. It's honestly just a hit or miss with him. But he is the biggest wealth of knowledge I've ever crossed paths with. If you really want to learn, take him. If you want an easy A, don't.
He knows everything about history. He's not really clear on what he wants on his test or quizes, except for "everything we covered". like history, and I liked this class. It's a full lecture and he stands at the front of the class for the entire time. No extra credit. He also doesn't explain what he wants on the final paper. I liked him though!
I have a great gpa and I'm going to get a C in this class because it is so hard. It is a freshman level course and it is harder than my upper level courses. You have to be interested in wars and love to read every night. Also you only have 2 quizzes, a midterm writing assignment, an analytical paper, and a final writing assignment.
Dr. Nash was wonderful. I'm fairly good at history and I just showed up to his classes and got an A. Even though he said we would need to read to do well, I never opened the book, just took lecture notes. He was very funny, cared about the content, and really knew what he was talking about. Solid teacher. Made a gened interesting.
Nash is awesome. Old school, southern style, and extremly knowledgable on the content. He calls out roll every class just like high school. As long as you study fairly often and read you'll be fine. Great class
Mr. Nash is a very smart man but it is the most boring class i have ever endured. Nothing he says in lecture is ever on the quizzes and half the time the readings from the textbook don't correlate with what we are learning. The final paper has no direct prompt and is impossible due to the fact you pretty much have to guess what he wants.
a nice old guy who kind of reminds me of my grandfather. he knows a lot of history but remember to sit in the front, you can barely hear him in the second row. multiple choice test (2) are so so if you read and go over your notes just like the midterm and the final. the paper is hard but can be done. not an easy or hard class but he knows his stuff
Incredibly easy lecture class. Two quizzes, a "paper", and a final exam. I literally didn't open the textbook once.
Dr. Nash has interesting lectures and knows a lot but doesn't know how to make quizzes or assignments. Only 25 question quizzes on extremely little details that he never mentioned at all. I'm a freshman with a 3.7 GPA last semester, and this class is really going to pull my GPA down. He's not helpful with what he expects so you just have to guess.
Extremely intelligent never uses lecture notes he's studied in Europe and can give accurate descriptions of places. Does not have unreasonable expectations just wants college level work & tells you what to know for quizzes, essays are easy as well. He will answer specific questions but wont proof read your papers. I liked him & learned a lot.
