He's so passionate about the material and that made me more interested in learning. His tests are tough but he curves them.

Very knowledgeable history teacher. Very helpful and flexible. His tests can be very tough, but he grades fairly. Gives extra bonus points for difficult questions and difficult material. Just show up and take notes and you'll pull a B/C. I managed an A while rarely opening the textbook, though.

Don't take this class at 8am. not a good idea unles you can be fully awake

Mr. Riley made history interesting at 8am. He kept the schedule flexible and offered plenty of help for grades. Class isn't an easy A, but it isn't that hard. You'll have to read a bit or take really good notes during lecture.

Praise God for the curved tests! this class was boring because it was the same thing every day. watch him drink water and listen to lectures. if you don't read the book and just show up to the lectures, you can get a B. print out the powerpoints he gives you or you'll be writing a ton

Unique style of teaching. Made Social Science and Politics interesting and enjoyable to learn every class. Puts all of the power point lessons online..

Mr. Riley was pretty funny. He knows the material very well and makes it interesting as long as you are interested in it. Tests are not bad at all but the paper is a little demanding if you wait until last minute. Over all good teacher, good class.

Word of advice, DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. You do not need the textbok for his class. Every lecture he gives is off powerpoint which he makes available for you to print out. Tests come completely from that, passed his class with an average over 100, very intelligent teacher and was a very eye opening class.

Great professor! Don't need the book at all, just a waste of money. As long as you check out the powerpoints, you'll pass all the tests. Still working on the research paper, but so far so good; Gives you an outline of the questions he wants answered, so just follow it and you'll do well on it.

Very good teacher, very willing to accomodate disability issues (service dog, hearing issues) Tests were simple as long as you had the powerpoints. I printed them out and was able to pass with an A. Paper was kinda hard, grades fairly. If you print the powerpoints out you wont need to take any notes. Book not needed at all.

Good teacher. However make sure the paper is written in the right format takes off major points if not. Test are easy just read the powerpoints.

Mr. riley is an awesome guy. his classes are both interesting and easy. this one however was a little harder. come to class, print the powerpoints and pay attention and you wont need the book. in other words dont buy the book. his tests are.... unique... to say the least. not hard but moderate. he curves too. take mr. riley, he is the man!

He is a very nice man. He will let you know when anything on campus is going on. Its an easy class, he lectures puts slides up and you take tests its simple just have to read.

His social studies course is extremely easy but so boring, I slept through at leat half of the total class time. The paper can be intimidating if you get a late start. If you are willing to review the powerpoints he gives and not slack as far as work out of class, this course is an easy A.

Mr. Riley is a great teacher. His teaching method is very orthodox, a lecture that accompanies a powerpoint presentation. He cares about the subject he teaches, and really tries to make the subject interesting. He is crystal clear, and his tests are fair. Do not take this class after lunch if you don't want to fall asleep.

No point in having the text book at all. What a waste of money there. If I enjoyed being read to for an hour and a half off of a powerpoint, this class might have been more exciting. Riley is an awesome guy and I respect him for that. But man..what a dry class. The tests are all common sense.

OMG what a great class, the test were easy and I actually walked away learning something. Test were easy, and he's extremely helpful. If you print out the notes the night before the class theres no way you can't get an A.

Mr. Riley teaches very well, allowing an open forum for the class to interact and engage in the lecture. Though he can be slightly biased sometimes he tries to keep himself in check. He often will give his opionion on a matter and teach what the book or general concensus is. There is no reason you should get anything lower than a B in this class.

Riley was awesome! I enjoyed having a teacher this semester who actually taught me something. His class was really easy, and I learned something everyday that I went. As long as you show up to class and take all 4 in class tests..you`ll pass this class.

Easy class with minimal text book use. I didn't buy it, just skimmed chapters from a friends book or the library copy. Print the notes and listen, study them some before tests. He curves grades and only uses questions that he actually talks about in class. Take it - great for elective credit.

Awesome class, he made it interesting. Didn't miss a day. Read Chapter before lecture and you will do fine. Pay attention and study power points. I will take him again if my schedule calls for it. Highly recommend him. Does his job well,very fair. Just attend,study and do good on exams, you will be fine.

I had no idea what to expect going into this class and during summer at that. Mr. Riley is enjoyable and informative which makes the class easy...he loves what he teaches and it comes across, making you listen, which makes you learn. He gets his students involved, encourages it. Also easy to talk to and question why?

Prof. Riley is the best! This will be one of your favorite classes. Classes are in a lecture hall but he encourages you to participate. Read the book, take notes, and you are guaranteed to get a good grade!!

I took this class onlne it was easy if you take all test on time and complete the DF's. He drops the lowest test grade.

I took Mr. Riley's US History to 1877 class last semester. His tests start out pretty easy but get harder as the semester progresses, but if you pay attention in class, you'll get at least a C or B. The text book is supposed to be mandatory, but I never read it and ended up with a B+. Overall, I liked Mr. Riley.

I took the course online and I enjoyed it. Reading the course material will help you breeze through the tests. Good professor.

Mr. Riley is by far one of thoe most wonderful professors I have been taught by which makes him yes HOT!!! :) He makes class very interesting and explains everything. If for some reason you fail this class their is something wrong with you!!!

Riley was great! Yes, the class is boring, but thats expected. The DF's have a habit of sneaking up on you, but stay on top of it and you will do just fine. Riley is also very helpful and has a great sense of humor.

Great professor. Funny, laid back and fair. The class is fairly simple. All you need to do is read the chapters from your book to be ready for tests on Angel. I enjoy this class and Mr.Riley teaching methods.

Mr. Riley is a great instructor. His lectures are mostly powerpoint but he knows what he's talking about. Work load for this class is minimal.

I could write some really long, drawn out post about how terrible he is and how hard the class was, but it'd all be lies. The truth is, the class was easy and, although he DOES drink quite a bit of water, Riley is really cool. There weren't any papers, just five tests and a discussion forum for each chapter. Definitely take him if you can.

Mr. Riley is a wonderful professor! I loved his class! It xan get quite boring, BUT he's really nice and there are NO papers! He offers extra credit and there are only discussion forms and 5 exams! Definitely take him if you can! LOVED THE CLASS!

Makes call enjoyable and fun to be in! Clearly he knows this stuff and how to teach well. Explains things in full and lets you voice your opinion. Overall the class was easy and the lectures were easy to follow along for the test.

Riley is awesome. His class is cake as long as you pay attention in class and do a decent job on the tests. He lets you voice your opinion on things that are happening in the world, and I loved that!

Never went to class, and still got a 103% in class. Weekly homework assignments and tests are online- which the tests are pretty difficult but you can use the book.

Great teacher. He teaches to the test, and goes along with the book. It sounds boring, but it's an easy A and he makes it interesting. Lectures are mostly PowerPoint-based, but he is knowledgeable enough to add interesting anecdotes and asides to keep your attention. Although attendance is not mandatory, his enthusiasm for teaching is infectious.

This is my second time taking Professor Riley. He is a great guy! Very fun teacher. All of his classes are ran the same. The tests are indentical to the powerpoints he posts online & goes through in class! This class is an easy A. Plenty of extra credit! I would totally recommend!

His online class was pretty easy. Just read the chapters and you will be prepared for all the tests. Do the extra credit as well. That really boosts your grade up. No reason not to get an A in this class.

Awesome class, and easy to pass. All you have to do is read one chapter every week, answer the question on the discussion board, take tests every few weeks. Extra credit always provided, helps boost grade. Highly recommended.

I'm taking two courses with him right now (AMH2010 & AMH2020). He's awesome! I have been thoroughly impressed by his hands-on approach. You can tell he really cares about the students. Without a doubt, the best, most diligent professor I've had in college. If you have the opportunity to take one of his courses, do so! I wish I could've taken more!

Professor D. Riley is the epitome of professionalism. Very easy to communicate with and addresses valued points and understands important situations. Excellent control of the course and superior in his discipline.

Professor Riley is definitely on my very short list of AMAZING professors. The class is NOT boring, he gets you interested in the subject and his lectures. If I had to take any other electives I would take more classes that he teaches.

This Professor is amazing! I took him online, and he grades super fast, and replies to emails right away. A lot of the time he would raise my test scores just because. I DEFINITELY recommend him, and would take him again in a heartbeat!

Mr. Riley is by far the BEST PROFESSOR i havefound at CF! He has clear grading criteria, good feedback, extra credit. easy online classpassed with an A! even missed two tests. All easy discussions, 5 tests, 1 research paper. Youwill need to review material but tests were fairlyeasy and you will get ful lcredit fodiscussions with a thoughtfulanswer.

He was not hard at all and did not expect too much from his students. I took him over the summer of 17' before heading to Columbia for the first US history course and I can honestly say that he made that a great summer for me. He is a real gem.

IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN OF MR. RILEY when I first started school, I would have taken him along time ago. HE IS AMAZING!!!!!!! He goes into detail of every subject. Tests are online. Honestly, go to class and sit there and listen to him, he is super interesting.

I have taken two classes with Prof Riley and gotten a very high A in both of them. If you do the work it is a very easy A. The work given is very straight forward. He is a really amazing and nice guy and very easy going. I would always recommend him and hope I can take him for future classes.

If you go to class and pay attention to lectures you will be fine. His lectures are long and wordy but not boring. Do the work and you will pass.

Mr. Riley is a great guy. Online there are easy discussions if you do the work and video reviews and straight forward exams if you read the material. Also he will curve exams if they are difficult

he was fantastic!! i love history to begin with so it was an easy lecture to sit through but if you go to class and take notes even if you arent good with history, youll do fine. open note online exams and simple discussions are what you are graded on. highly recommend

Professor Riley is very kind and understanding. He is willing to make adjustments and legitimately wants to do a good job - he's not the type of professor who is too arrogant to admit mistakes, which I love! If he thinks he made an exam question that was unfair, he takes it off because he knows what its like to be in a student's shoes.

I took the course online and it was easy. The tests are basically your grade, but he gives you an outline for the test which is like the study guide. The test questions so to follow the outline. He makes you do video reviews, reading chapters, and you have to answer a question about the reading each week. You do have to put in the effort to pass.

Professor riley is awesome he cares about you knowing the material and helps you understand and i like that he has alot to talk about history or other things related to his life.

I took this online course over the summer and it was a great class. Professor Riley wears clear about assignments and sticks to the syllabus. This class requires lots of reading and tests are from the textbook. Great class, great professor!!

Professor Riley is a great history teacher. I just took his online class for Fall 2020. He had Zoom meetings to go over material every Monday and Wednesday. Since I work during the meeting times, it was a bonus that he recorded them to share with those of us who couldnt make it live. He shares facts that werent in the textbook. Great professor

Really good professor. The Zoom meetings weren't mandatory and he posted them afterwards, as long as you read the textbook you will be fine. No final exam, discussion boards once a week, test and video review every four chapters. Curved all of our tests at least a few points. Overall really cool and nice guy. Easy grader, ended with over 100%.

Professor Riley is very passionate about this subject and it shows. The class is graded by Discussion Forms, Video Reviews (5 videos, 1 hr each) and Exams. Attendance is not manditory but I recommend getting the textbook. He give's some extra credit changes too, like book and video reviews. Easy going class and great guy! 10/10

Mr. Riley was a fun professor, he was understanding and gave us extra credit. He was always smiling and really knew the material he was teaching. This was a great class and I'm really glad I took it. Rip Mr. Riley!

Tons of extra credit, but it's not even needed. He unfortunately passed away so I can't say anyone will be able to take him. He was an excellent professor, his lessons funny enough had little to do with the tests. Simple solution, tests were open book. Read the chapter and just remember where things were in the book and you'd get an EASY A.
