Professor Borg is probably one of the nicest instructors you'll see on campus. As for the course itself, I thought some of the readings in the textbook weren't very interesting and would have preferred being focused on fewer, more important ones. Regardless, it was an enjoyable class (though a bit long at 3 hours) and I'd recommend taking him.

Professor Borg is a GREAT teacher. He is very helpful and a kind man in general. He really prepares you for English 101 and teaches you how to properly write an essay, no matter how clueless you are. If you attend the class and do the work, you will be fine. If you have any problems or questions, he is ALWAYS willing to help. Highly recommended!!!

loved this class! the benefit of a 205 class is that the people that are in there, want to be. he knows he can be boring but when the class starts to get into it, he gets really excited. i loved this teacher because he clearly loved what he was teaching and he was kind of a dork in an endearing way. he pretty much gives u what will be on the exam

I have taken Professor Borg for English 101. He is such a nice man and a great teacher. He really loves the subject and his lectures were interesting. I received an A in his class especially because I loved studying; the reading was great! It is because of him that I am now an English major.

Borg is an inspiring professor. He is able to cover all the material in the syllabus (something I find incredibly rare in community college) and he makes the material fascinating and enjoyable. The class is easy if the right amount of studying is put in, and he gives a very helpful study guide for them. Always available if you have questions.

His class is fairly easy. Do the assignments and read the stories twice, and do the journals, and you'll get at least a B. He will discuss about the story with the students, so don't worry about not getting the stories. He is very strict about the MLA format of the essay, so becareful about those. Overall, his class is highly recommended.

Honestly I can say this was one of my favorite classes! Just make sure to read and the essays will be a breeze. He's super understanding and lecture is rarely boring. Also, it doesn't hurt that he fun to look at! He deserves that chilli pepper. Take his class! You won't regret it!

I honestly didn't enjoy this class at all. Granted it's English, so it's not the most exciting topic in the world, but he utilizes groups way too much to discuss what was read.

Borg is such a sweeth guy. You have to write four essays and they're all pretty simple. The "World of Ideas" book is absolutely mandatory but you can get away with not buying the MLA handbook.

Be prepared to read a lot, about an hour to two hours of reading per week. Three essays, an annotated (MLA-format) works cited for a final 8-10 page paper. Gives review sheets week before test and always keeps the class entertained. This is a highly-discussion based class.

Professor Borg is extremely helpful with essays and test preparation. To receive a good grade in his class, you must attend! The class discusses the week's readings which appear on exams. He is friendly and approachable and provided the best english class I have taken in college, definitely taking english 206 next semester! :)

Really smart guy and his class is low-pressure. The actual material is hard - no way around it - but Borg makes the classwork easy. The three journal assignments are crazy-time-consuming given that each one is only worth 3 points, so get on those early. Don't be intimidated, make Shmoop your bff and it's an easy A. Friendly, funny, bit of a nerd.

Love him! The class material is especially hard, but he gives exam review sheets so you know what to expect on the exam and goes over terms you need to know, too. He's not too tough of a grader. He loves his literature and wants you to succeed, so he's willing to help you in any way. There is sooooooo much reading though. I was so fried by the end.

Prof. Borg is a great English teacher, very clear in the explanation exercises were done in class and the only homework we had was to read short stories which were enjoyable! I learnt a lot from his classes and I am a - well spoken - native speaker, some of the info blew my mind. If you have any personal issues just speak to him, he won't bite!

Best ENG 101 teacher

Best professor I've ever taken! Attendance is a must. Fast pace, so keep up with homework and readings, if you don't it's very easy to fall behind. Not many tests, a quiz or two and about 4-5 essays. He makes jokes, and makes learning fun. Very passionate about English, it's his everything. Always is on time, and open to all questions. Amazing <3

I'm taking Mr. Borg now fall 2017 and he is a great teacher. All test are based on the English book and his short story book. Very simple. Review all new material before class this will help better understand if English is not your first language or your not that smart. lol Also, he is always very willing to help if you ask. Love this professor! He has a clear grading criteria and as long as you read the assigned homework's you are fine. Book is mandatory as you will be reading together in class and the essays will be about one of the readings. You only have to do two essays and a final exam (he basically tells you what you will be writing about on the final exam).

This is by far the easiest professor Ive ever taken. Lectures can get kind of boring sometimes but overall a very easy class. Definitely would recommend if you want an easy A and a class that doesnt have a workload.

Absolutely loved and enjoyed his class, the class was three hours long but the discussion did not seem boring. He treats his students like adults and is not overbearing. As long as you skim through the readings and pay attention in class it is easy. Practice Final is 90% similar to the actual final/midterm and there is only 1 paper.

Professor Borg is a great teacher. He makes his students work for it but also grades fairly. He really wants his students to pass and the reading is always interesting. Its a lot of reading but its all worth it if you do it. If you have problems passing this class you're just lazy and its hard to make this material interesting but he does it.

I enjoyed his class. He tells you exactly what's expected from you, and grades accordingly. As long as you do your readings, do your canvas assignments on time, and engage in class discussions, you'll be fine. As for your essay assignments, he is more interested in original ideas, not cookie cutter type writing. Def would take him again.

Easy A! I took him for 101 and would love to take him for 102. He gives great lectures that are always relevant to the materials being taught. There is a discussion post and response due each week (super easy), and there are only two essays due in the semester. If you do the work, youll definitely get an A!

I learned more in his class about writing than all my English classes in high school combined. He has inspired me to be an even better writer. His classes are fun if you read and participate in the conversation. Those who claim the class is boring are the lazy people who come to class and dont read. I hope he accepts me into his 102 class.

You ABSOLUTELY will need the book, you do not need the online subscription associated with the book, a used book will do. There is A LOT of reading, but what he selects is interesting & fun to discuss in class & on canvas, he appreciates class participation. 1 - (3-5pg) essay, 1 - (1pg)anotated bibliography, 1 (8-10pg) research paper, final.

Understanding, wants you to do well in his class, caring professor, total of 2 essays, weekly discussion posts and one essay final (tells you what the prompt is beforehand) overall take his class you wont regret it!

Professor Borg is one of the best in the biz. His uses a very simple structure for most of his classes. A few tests, a few essay (Around 8 pages or more) and weekly discussion posts. The discussion posts were my weakness and the only reason I received a B and not an A. If you do the work and attend class you can get an A. He is a great person.

Easy class. A lot of busy work that is the only reason I would not retake it. He takes a couple-few days to reply to emails which can be frustrating. It may seem like he rambles all of class and does not really know what he is talking about but surprisingly enough you actually learn.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Borg this semester. He was clear with his grading and he allowed anyone and everyone to have their own opinions about novels and poems. His classes are very lecture heavy but honestly I learned a lot from his class.

Clear class structure, weekly reading; explains the content of the book well. Spend time on your essays and assignments to make it as good as possible and you will do well.

I literally would take him again and have. His reading selection is very enjoyable and insightful. He really cares and that's a quality I look for in any professor. What's amazing about him is how accessible he is outside of class. The experience he offers is a 'true' humanities experience. Love his desire to want to engage students.

His class is pretty calm, not overwhelming. Assignments can be a bit tough but he will be more than happy to clarify. He might accept late work as long as he hasn't started grading papers yet. He is caring as long as you reach out for help he will allow some to rewrite an essay for a better grade!

Very easy, but sometimes very boring lectures. Considering how difficult my schedule was, I was happy to have a class that was as easy as this one.

There are weekly readings I never did. He talks about the readings for the majority of the class. You have one assignment a week based on the readings but I'd pick one and look up a summary. There are 3 papers but he grades easily. I got a 100 on all 3 of the papers knowing the papers didn't deserve a 100.

Great professor! I took this course during the winter session and really enjoyed the selected readings! Each week we had about 4 readings (short stories, poems, etc) and one discussion assigned. There were two papers total, one of them being a research criticism with an annotated bibliography (8-10 pgs) and the other a simple final paper (2 pgs)

Professor Borg was an amazing teacher. He has the due dates all set so you know what to do and when. He is very kind and responds quickly if you have any questions, he also gives amazing feedback. I definitely recommend if you're looking to take a teacher who will care about you and will help you.

Take his course; you won't regret it. I had Professor Borg for three courses (Eng.101, 102, and 205). English 205 has 2 midterms and 1 final ( short answers + mini-essay). There is also an 8-10 page critical essay, but it's not too hard! Also, join his Zoom meetings; he loves connecting and helping his students!

Really nice and is available through email & office hours. Class is mostly graded by three essays, and you can choose which readings from syllabus. For honors, the papers are longer but not too bad. The longest essay needs research & an annotated bibliography. Overall good class and nice reads. Take the class if you need it.

Overall, he was a really nice professor and lectures were interesting and funny too! Met twice a week and it was nice to have this class while juggling around a packed schedule.

Took his honors course and it was one of the most straightforward English classes I've ever taken! The discussions are optional, but participation is required to stay in the class. The midterm and final are literature analysis essays, and he gives you a clear outline of what should be included. Take him!

This course is easy to pass as long as you do the work. Impossible to fail unless you do nothing. There are 3 quizzes,1 annotated bibliography, 1 critical essay, and 1 final paper. The class is not hard and he helps along the way. You will have to write a fair amount but it is an English class so that is a given. I would definitely take him again.

LOVED PROFF BORG!! His lectures were animated and the readings were interesting, he is quirky and funny. A very chill and down-to-earth professor. Would definitely take his class again :-)

Professor's class was more lecture based than anything. 2 major writing assignments with few homework. Attendance is mandatory and must buy 2 textbooks. The class is an easy A and Professor is a easy grader for the most part

SUPER organized and well-structured class, he is super chill and replies quickly, and overall, just a great professor. There are 3 quizzes in which you get unlimited attempts, 3 essays, and I think 4 other assignments which all stem to one of the essays, which is a research essay. Overall, if you don't procrastinate, the class should be an easy A.

Professor Borg was definitely an easy professor. All materials are posted a week before class starts and are all accessible to submit as well. You're graded on three essays, one annotated bibliography, and one outline. He's very generous and understanding, just email him with any problems you have with submissions. Take this easy honors class!

his class was very chill. we had 3 main papers which were spread out and he gave us lots of time to do them. they aren't worth many points (20), but were the only things that went into the gradebook. discussions are not mandatory, but he uses as a way to prove that you're still participating. not a harsh grader either. overall, really good prof.

Professor Borg is a very understanding person who genuinely cares for his students. Class material is easy to follow, allowing you to do certain assignments based on your interest story. 10/10 would take again!

Dream eng101 course. I took the 5-week course, so it was a paper nearly every week. I believe the full semester course would be more spread out. Fun readings, just wants to see you log into canvas every week. He gives very specific criteria for grading, follow it and you'll be great. Got a 100% for the course with low/medium effort.

Took this prof for English 101 and 102; he is a unique, engaging, and understanding professor. He cares about his students and wants us to pass. Made me a better writer, gave terrific feedback, and had manageable assignment choices. He provides enough time to complete assignments & will accept late work. He was email-savvy and responded quickly.

Professor Borg's ENG102 class is a chill yet engaging experience. With minimal assignments and a generous grading system, it's an easy A. Using unstuck ai and the provided textbook helped me breeze through the course.

Borg's 101 class was a great experience and would recommend him. While his instructions on writing a paper may be vague at times, just look at the rubric to get a perfect score. He is a very generous grader, which is another great thing about him. However, he does not give extra credit.

I took his ENG 101 class online; the coursework was straightforward, and the rubrics for grading were clear and concise. He was very understanding of technical issues when I failed to submit my final essay and accepted my work through email.

He's a chill teacher and gives good feedback. Responds to messages quickly. You do have to somewhat try with the final essay, but overall an easy class.

I loved Dr. Borg and would highly recommend him to anyone taking British Lit. He's super attentive, keeps class interesting (despite a 3 hour lecture), and genuinely cares for his students. If you do the readings, participate, do the discussions on time, and show that you wanna learn, you will easily get an A.

2 papers and a final paper. Lots of reading. Has a discussion post each week, but is not graded (just for attendance). Overall really easy.

Easy A. Submitted all my work at the end of the semester even though I was supposed to submit it by due date. All my work was graded without any penalty or partial credit. He checks your papers with turnitin. I don't like english and got an A. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE THIS CLASS. (ENGLISH 101 AND 102)

Such a great professor, I would take him again in a heartbeat. There were two papers and one final paper. There were discussion posts each week, but they weren't graded. There was a lot of reading, but it wasn't bad. It was such an easy A.

He's the best. He's reasonable, helpful, and easy to contact when needed.
