It's only been a couple weeks but so far so good on his class. He is very clear in what he is teaching and makes it so much easier to learn than any other math teacher I have ever had. He goes over it until you get it before moving on. He is very clear right up front what he expects and you have to be organized and on time. Great class so far.

Love this teacher still in his class now and I am actually getting this math monster! He has a way of explaining things so you get "it". Pretty easy going he understands that "life" happens and is not that strict just make sure you do your homework and show up to class and you should pass.

Attendance is mandatory. Great professor really wants his students to succeed unfortunately his teaching style wasn't for me. Test covers 2/3 chapters at a time and there is NO STUDY guide. Not much extra credit besides test correction. Homework due in mymathlab component 20% of grade. it was a struggle but I got a C. Recommended to A students only

One of the most challenging yet easiest math class thanks to Mr. Lacoste. He is a great teacher but you have to learn the material in order to pass. 4 tests and a final plus test corrections as extra credit. Mymathlab for all homework. Easy A. Just study.

Very helpful teacher. Took his Intermediate algebra class, don't regret it at all. There are 3 tests not including the final. He offers test corrections to get back some points & also uses the final to replace your lowest test score in the class which helped me a ton! & he also offers extra credit. Attendance is mandatory!

If you are someone who struggles with math, then Prof. Lacoste is the guy you want Not only did he make the material easy to understand (as easy as it could be), but he also made the class fun and interesting. This teacher is passionate about his subject. He does everything he can to make sure each student gets the help they need. He makes you feel comfortable in asking questions. He creates his own textbook you must print out or look online at. So you don't need to buy a textbook. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Basically do the homework, attend class, and pay attention, the usual. But he really TEACHES you the material. Tests are multiple choice, either do quizzes or write 4 pages of notes and get an A.

College algebra on itself is not an easy course, but prof. lacoste has these incredible lecture notes that you can print and bring to class. YOU NEED THEM. Glad that I took him for MAC1105, he is by far the best Math professor at Valencia, you can't get anyone better. He gives you all the opportunity to pass, don't be lazy or wait for last minute on your classwork. Those who rates him average or less is because they didn't do their part. Not my cup of tea. Prof. Lacoste is helpful to some people but to me, he was tough to understand. He's quirky and sometimes a little too much. His pencasts are uneccessary to me and homework is mandatory. The tests are tough but if you study you'll pass them. I wouldn't take again.

This is my second class with Prof. Lacoste. Yes hes a stickler for the details, but that's math. Very helpful when hes available. explains the material quite well. highly recommended. i dont understand why there are so many quizzes and before you take the quiz online, you have to pass the pre quiz assignment which takes forever. i do not have that much time on my hands to do his quizzes online and they take my entire day.

I've read posts saying all kinds of things about professor Lacoste. One thing I know for sure is I got a lot of respect for him. He knows what he is doing and cares about his students. Plus, he has been an engineer for 11 years. How do you expect to learn math without practice? Stop complaining about homework cause that's how you learn.

I have to admit I didn't like him at first because of all the work required but they show up on the exams anyway so it's worth it. It was my third time taking College Algebra and I passed with a B. Prof. Lacoste is a phenomenal professor. He explains everything very well and is always willing to help you during office hours. While he did assign 1-3 quizzes a week, they were only 10-20 questions each and you had unlimited attempts. Overall, if you are willing to put in some effort and are slightly competent in math, you should succeed.

Professor Lacoste changed the way I look at College. I took his class on the recommendation of a former student of his that said she had a great experience... and wow do I understand what she meant now. I don't find math easy, but this course was absolutely incredible. He cares, he helps you understand, and you WILL leave with a lot of confidence.

If you put your effort into the class you'll do okay.

This is a class that if you slack off you will not pass. But professor Lacoste makes it very easy and entertaining to learn the material he teaches. He tends to repeat things over and over again so a lot of things he says will stick by the time the course is done. He has a very particular way of doing everything so just go with his flow.

Lacoste is by far the best intro to algebra or college algebra professor you can have, he has every class planned out so be prepared to work. You do have quite a bit of work when you're in his class but he's so good at teaching algebra that you're able to cut through the work like butter. Pay attention, interact, study and you'll pass no problem!

I really enjoyed took this class with Professor Lacoste! Absolutely amazing professor, with his very specific and easy way of teach makes the math/algebra so simple and enjoyable! Thank you Professor Lacoste! Best algebra professor I have ever had.

Professor Lacoste is an awesome professor! He truly gives 110% to his students. There is alot of material, but if you put in the work and effort you will pass. He makes himself available to all of his students and cares about our success. There is extra credit opportunity as well as video lectures for review. Don't hesitate to take his class!

Mr. Lacoaate is an amazing professor i've never experienced a professor so patient and kind always even whem you think you wont finish what you need hes always there just stay in communication with him and he will help with all his power to get you throught hard times. This is my first time i passed a math class for the first time without retaking

He truly cares and will stop to make sure everyone understand. He's always available to help. He will get u a digital version of the book. Test are graded a little hard but it's only a few questions, but there's plenty of help. But homework takes forever to do. He's great even if u have to switch to online he makes its so easy.

He is the best and will work with you as much he can. Loved him wish I could take him again.

Absolutely phenomenal professor. He helped me learn that math isn't as bad as it is made out to be, and I truly do love it. He wrote the class textbook and knows it very well, has open office hours, and truly cares for his students. Practicing the material a lot, it wasn't too difficult for me to finish with 100% in the class.

My experience with Prof. Lacoste was fantastic. He really teaches you to believe in yourself when it comes to your education. He is always there for his students and you can tell he truly cares. I took his class this Fall 2020, and I passed. He gives out about 4 test before the final. He knows what he is talking about, answers questions, will rework problems if you don't understand. Really cares about math and his students. He does proctor test physically over zoom. Frustrating sometimes, he has a lot of requirements while taking test.

Hes an amazing professor and really cares about your grade, hell let you retake texts, and has extra credit activities:)

Professor Lacoste is one of the best professors I've ever had. I highly recommend taking his class if you REALLY want to learn math and advice anyone with a degree that requires more math classes to take him. He has 4 tests throughout the whole semester and he's easy to reach.

This professor REAAAALLLYYY cares. He is there to help guide you every step of the way and will even let you make up assignments. I have two kids and I struggle with making sure they are okay and my education. He makes my life so much easier. Just a fair warning, he's really smart and catches on to you so you better do your work! He makes math fun.

Professor Lacoste has a specific routine that works perfectly with the amount of work assigned. He makes sure that each and every student has access to the resources they need in order to earn a passing grade in this class. I would say that Professor Lacoste is one of my top rated professors! This is my favorite teacher of all time. Professor Lacoste is the most caring, patient, and knowledgeable teacher I've ever had. I've learned material that has stuck with me like the back of my hand that I think would not have happened if I had another professor. If you do not understand something, he will make sure you know at your own pace.

Around 3-4 homework assignments per week, they're a breeze if you take a few quick notes during class. By far my favorite math teacher of all time, very good lectures, he goes as fast or as slow as the class is responding. DO HIS TEST REVIEWS, they're a life saver. I can usually study for his exams for around 1-3 hours and get a 85% +. 10/10 class

Genuinely a good professor! He was very responsive to all the students. His material was clear and the way he taught the class really helped me since I was not used to online courses. The only thing I would say I didn't like was the Find the Error parts of the tests but aside from that, I would not recommend anyone else more!
