Sociology has become my favorite class at Highline, and it's largely due to Brice's methods of teaching. Very funny guy, I feel I will actually take something out of this course instead of just another credit filler

Darryl is an amazing prof. He talks with his class not to his class. No exams or final. Four papers and a reflection paper was due every thursday, those are an easy 1-2 pages reflecting on a reading or discussion in class. You should try to take him for at least one class!

He actually cares about the subject he's teaching! Not so concerned with sticking to the textbook but rather educating us on what's going on in society that might be relevant to our lives--it is great. Exams are very straight-forward. Just use the study guide he provides, and there's no way you can't ace it.

a good mix of book knowledge and first hand experience in the rough subjects we talk about. The classroom environment is the best I've experienced. So many days I would have skipped classes alltogether if not for this class. ps, a lot of really cool people in there. On good days Darryl can push the start button and we can do most the rest.

He is awesome! the best teacher, easy going, and very very funny. he is a comedian and awesome teacher. his lectures are very capturing because he uses humor and keeps the class interested.

His class was fun to take. He is very opinionated about certain things, so some people might be offended, but other than that I loved his class. Mostly we just discussed alot of different things and it was pretty lax. However, you have to know your stuff for his tests, so don't be fooled by his lax environment!

He is definitely good looking. His class is easy, all you got to do is rewrite everything he writes on the whiteboard, study them thoroughly, keep up with the textbook reading, and for your final essay, really go into details with the portion that is worth 40pts and you should get an easy 4.0

One of the coolest teachers ive had. if ur in need of a class that laughs a ton, this is it. Makes school so much fun, and explains in really easy ways. Reading is a must though. He doesnt go over everything in class so expect to read the book, maybe 10 pages a night if that. take him

Brice is a very nice guy. Most students would see him as a student as well. Can relate to you a lot and makes class interesting. You would always be in a good mood when you see him because he has such a big smile. He uses good and humorous examples to help you understand concepts and he has great sympathy for people. Brice is a great professor!

Excellent professor, creates a fun and interactive learning environment. Do not underestimate the reading/ workload due to Dr. Brice's laid back demeanor. You will need to stay on top of the readings in order to be successful on the exams. I RECOMMEND THIS INSTRUCTOR!

DR. Brice is one of the most funny teachers you'll ever take. He's very clear about teaching and helps students connect the real world with Sociology. Big tip, be sure to study vocab and how you can connect these terms in reality, because that's what most of his tests focus on. I was scared to take Sociology, but DR. Brice made it fun. take him!

Dr. Darryl Brice is so amazing at his job. There are hardly many teachers that can keep my attention for so long and I have to say that this class has me thinking of majoring in sociology. The way he opens up your world and really makes you see everything around you is amazing and I have to say that this class was most definitely my favorite.

Dr. Brice is an amazing teacher. His class is the one where I'm disappointed that it's over so fast. He's hilarious and it seems like you don't learn a lot but when it comes to tests, you realize you recognize everything. I would definitely take him again.

Brice is the best professor at Highline. You will not be disappointed with this class. He keeps the class very upbeat and fun and he does everything he can to help you pass. While being very funny and always sharing stories, he is able to teach the subject very clearly. Class goes by fast. Take notes and do study circles. 100% would take again.

I took this as a hybrid class and it was the easiest class I've ever taken. Regardless of how easy the A was, Darryl gives the most fun and intelligent lectures. Exams are a piece of cake if you just take notes and listen during lecture. I promise that by the end of the class you would have AT THE VERY LEAST cracked a smile bc of his fun lectures!

Oh my gosh, honestly I love Dr. Brice so much. He is one of the best professors at Highline. I took his class fall quarter of last year, but I just wanted to write this review because I miss the class so much, such a great energy in there everyday. A part of me wishes I had failed the class so that I had a reason to take it again.

Honestly the most REAL and Genuine professor Ive ever had. Take his class, you will not regret it. Gives the best examples, and makes the material make sense. Y'all. Funniest prof out there. Dr. Brice truly LOVES what he does and it shows in the way he teaches. So early in a quarter it's rare to know you'll love a professor, but with Dr. Brice it was easy. He's hilarious, he's genuine, he's incredibly intelligent, and he's understanding as all get out. I am thrilled to be in his class and at the enthusiasm he has for his subject matter and student participation. I want to take all my classes with him!!!

Hilarious and very genuine, always has the class laughing and makes sure to answer any questions you have. Not many assignments, tests are multiple choice and he drops lowest score at the end! Great professor

4.00 is 96% and up. Simple layout for due dates for online class. Exams, study notes, and reflections would only be due on Wednesday nights. Rarely gave extra credit, but gave great feedback! Practical Skeptics is the only book you really need for the exam and there was no final. (4/ 30pts each) Don't turn work in late, bc assignments won't open.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I took his class about 6 month ago but he is hands down the best professor ever. His lectures are the best. He makes class so interesting and truly cares about his students. As long as you pay attention and try to engage during his lectures you should have no problems during the tests.

This professor is so cool he probably started the snow storm we had this winter. Take this class if you wanna learn something and remember it. Its one of those rare classes where the content matters more than passing tests. Do study circles and read dassit.

Dr. Brice is amazing! Probably one of my favorite college professors so far. He is so funny and you can tell that he cares about his students on a deep level. Overall, this class isn't very hard. As long as you come to lectures, you should be fine on the tests! He'll drop your lowest test score and double your highest which is nice!

i could have skipped his class anytime i wanted, but his lectures were so amazing and funny i never missed it, one of the BEST professors at highline. Sociology really is useful in all aspects of life, definitely wish I could take him again

This class is very good & I highly recommend! Not only is it an easy A, but its material you care about. Plus at the end of the quarter he drops your lowest exam score and matches your highest! Same with an assignment. And only 2 assignments a week due on Wednesdays.

I took Sociology 101 for winter 2019. Grades are based upon study circles and the 4 multiple choice exams. There's no midterm or final, just the 4 exams that aren't cumulative. Study circles are based on the textbook but otherwise you don't have to read it since his lectures cover everything you need to know.

His class is easy to pass but it was annoying because he's always looking to hear something specific from you that's not in the rubric. For instance, I'd follow the rubric to a T and end up not getting full credit. Idk, just do the work and you'll get a 4.0 but the class is boring and tedious, the material is good though

I took his online class, his assignments take a long time but he gives us a week to do them. Only a quiz and one study note every week but for the study note we have to read an online reading, some of the textbook and watch some videos. Easy work but it takes a long time. As long as u write everything that is required on the rubric, you'll get 100%

Dr. Brice is a really good professor. Although his class was online, it's easy to reach him and ask for help. There is kind of a lot of reading each week to complete study notes and quizzes each week. There is no midterm or final. Drop lowest quiz and study note grade.

Got full points for all study notes & I did them the day of.

Dr. Brice is a great professor. It's also a pretty easy class, there's a study note each week and a test worth 15 points. No exams or anything just those. You do have to watch videos and read the passages he assigns to finish the study note, but it's not hard. Super easy grader and replies fast to emails 10/10 prof. would take in again

Loved this class. It was predictable, assignments were the same every week. Read everything he assigns and watch every video and you'll be fine. The content is great and thought-provoking and the assignments ensure you actually learn. Avoid this class if you're a bigot because you will be triggered as evidenced by a few of these reviews.

If you want this class take without fear because you will pass if you do all homework and quiz, Dr Brice is very good

He was a good professor, gave clear feedback. You have a study note and quiz once a week but it isn't too difficult but they're based off of more reading and long videos which was more than I expected. It wasn't a difficult class if you did the work and you can get an A pretty easy as long as you're doing the work.

Professor Brice always gives clear grading criteria and provides detailed feedback. Make sure to pay attention closely to the instructions on each assignment and the syllabus, as I lost lots of points in the beginning weeks of the class for mistakes that could've been avoided. His class is mind-opening and focuses around systemic inequality.

His lectures are always super entertaining and the best part of the course. Pay attention to the rubric of reflections if you follow it you should be good. The videos are kind of long sometimes and you should remember to make to to read the textbook (thats provided for free). You might not agree with the things shown in the course but he is great.

Professor Brice is very passionate about this subject and it reflects in his lessons. The content is heavy and if you're a person of color you'll probably connect with what's discussed in the class some way. Due dates are Wednesday and the work ranges from 1-2 readings, 1-2 videos, and about 50-page reading (which you can skip). Highly recommend!

Dr. Brice is a very chill and hilarious guy, he always tries to make the class engage and the environment feels comfortable. If you organize yourself you won't get behind, 25-40 pages each week, 20min-1 hr+ videos. If you take responsibility as a student you'll do great, I recommend!

I recommend this class and professor! He's funny and supportive, always greeting and checking in with students. There's a lot of reading, but it's manageable if you stay on track. Use your time wisely and you'll do great—definitely go to his office hours!

Professor Brice is amazing. He has a great sense of humor and actually made me look forward to his class lectures. He is always checking up on students and is a very kind and genuine person. The course itself is easy and does not have a heavy workload, you just have to manage your time well.

He is nice and grades easily. The course work is pretty easy but there is a lottt to read so be prepared. Other than that, he is straight forward and you know what is expected of you, so you'll be okay. No extra credit, but drops the lowest score & gives a chance to improve old work at the end, and every week looks the same (no finals/midterms).
