First time I have ever made an A in math. He is amazing! His jokes are corny sometimes but they do help you remember the material. He is very well spoken and will stay after class to help you if you need extra help.

Excellent teacher. Lectures are clear and to the point. He knows everything about math and you definitely won't regret taking his class. He's funny, but the only flaw - he keeps you the ENTIRE class time. So be prepared to stay the whole time and sometimes even longer. With all that said, EASY A!

Algebra has always been my worst subject. This is the professor to take if you stink at math. He cares and takes the time to explain things to you if you are willing to learn. Quizzes come from the homework, Exams come from the quizzes. If you like math this is an easy "A". He's also a funny guy.

He is a overall Great Teacher. I think he is the best and easiest teacher to take for Cal 1 at NHC. I took him for Precal also and it was really easy but since this is Calculus itz still a little tough. No mandatory Homework to turn in and has Study Guides for Exams. Do Homework and Study for a good grade. I took Honors so Maple was mandatory.

Yes, he uses up every second of class time. There, now that's out of the way... sign up for class with this man. Demand for him is definitely justified (filled up almost immediately). Why? I could never pass math until I took him. He is very nice, helpful, and funny! Makes the class a little easier. Explains the problem till you understand it and is a visual teacher to help you understand. However, he does not explain the section that the outcomes cover which is bad cause that's what almost made me fail the semester.

Great professor. Took him for Finite over the summer. Everone in the class made an "A" or "B". Not only is he a great professor, but he's a REAL character. Only guy I know who talks sports and sings show tunes in class! You have to take him to understand. He's a nice guy.

I took his MATH 0310 class this fall. 7:30 AM is not a good time to have to be in class, but he kept everything interesting. Homework is assigned, but not graded - your grade is based on labs, quizzes & tests. Show up, pay attention in class, do the work, and you should be fine. Awesome professor & highly recommended to anyone needing to take math!

WONDERFUL professor! I ABHOR math and wasn't looking forward to this class, but he is a very fun professor. Lectures are funny but you always learn. Hates when people talk during class, doesn't collect HW, allows makeup exams if you missed it, no required attendance, very helpful if you have questions. Egley's teaching really helped me in my later studies when I had to apply statistics while creating GIS maps. What he taught me in Stat gave me a big advantage later.He is great!

Professor Egley is a GREAT math teacher. I took Cal 1 for him this summer. You need to study for the tests. Final is comprehensive. He gives a test review and provides the solutions. He is very helpful and answered all of our questions. He's hilarious. He explains complicated math problems so well. Professor Egley is a Wonderful instructor.

He's a great professor! I hate math with a passion but he didn't make it hard at all. His tests are VERY straight forward and there aren't any surprises. As long as you study the study guide, you'll ace the tests. Tests and study guides are identical, he just changes some numbers around. Doesn't get annoyed of any kind of math questions u may ask.

took him for calculus 2. he will push you, four tests and review helps but he does put sneaky problems. so know the equipment well. he is funny! cal2 is the hardest of them all so study!

My math skills are EXTREMELY weak. If I can do well in his class, then anyone can. We had 3 exams and 4 basic forms exams (from calculus 1) in this calculus 2 course. He answers every question and is very clear with explaining concepts. Take him!!

He's a cool guy who is willing to help students be great mathematicians. Yes, he can get excited from all the sugar, but when he is, that's the moment when you learn your integration. I'm definitely going to take eggs in the fall because I learn in his class. Although many folks don't make an A, calc is a valuable tool for differential equations!!!

I am NOT a math person. He made stats easy, simple, and straightforward for me to understand and pass. His sense of humor breaks up the "craziness "that goes along with stats. He grades fairly, parital credit given as he looks at your problems and noting where you may have made mistake. I highly recommend him.

He's very out going and does a good job of keeping everyone's attention with his silly jokes. He uses a strict point system for grading, if you do not make the points you do not get the grade. That said his tests are not very difficult and is always ready and willing to answer questions. Homework is optional but will help you on the tests.

He makes math really easy, I'm not a math person but Professor Egley lay out lecture in a way that is really easy to understand. Unlike other professors that teach you 2 or 3 ways of doing the problems he teaches in the easiest way possible. Of course it is not an easy A if you dont do your part, you have to work for your grade!!

I took him for Cal I,II, and III. If I could I would take him for all my math courses. Homework is not required but do it either way because you need the practice. Not saying he is easy because if you slack off you will fail as I have seen from people that do not put the effort. You should, however, do well because he is a very good professor.

Professor Egley is a great teacher. Assigns homework only for you to study before an exam. Problems on the exams are taken from the homework, he just switches the signs. Problems on the final are taken from all the previous exams, with switched signs. Grades only quizzes and exams. He teaches so well and answers any questions you have for him.

Took him for minimester. You have to study and retain information for the first test since formulas are not given. The second and third test are alright, but the final I had to really study because the test was after the 3rd test. STUDY

Does not provide formulas for exams. Practice them w/HW and you will be fine. Final Exams. TAKE HIM! If you have to make the drive IT'S WORTH IT!

Absolutely my FAVORITE teacher ever! I drive 35minutes extra to see him for class, and already signed up for his statistics class! He is great, makes class entertaining while still explaining things in such detail that I understand them so much better.

Best math professor of all times. If you struggle in math please take him. Even if you had lower grades. I made an A!!!!!! My first A in math and who would have known it would be in trigonometry. He so patience and makes sure you understand and learn. And he provides practice exmas before each test !!!!!!!

Freaking great!!! This man knows his math inside and out. It was honestly a privilege to be his student. He's patient knowledgeable and makes the course EASY. Calculus 1 WAS EASY WITH HIM. Do the homework and reviews and A's are certain. Never had a better math professor before.

His practice tests have nothing to do with his exams. Beware of his pop-quizzes, he claims that he takes the problems from your textbook and changes the minus to a plus, a one to a ten, but what I saw on the pop-quizzes and exams were totally different. We were supposed to have 5 exams but only had 3. It might come back to haunt me in Pre-calculus

He is one of the best math teachers you can take, and I mean for almost any math. He would help me after class with the stats problems. He makes it so easy to understand it and I really enjoyed his class. He is a little disorganized but that's the only bad thing about him. He doesn't offer extra credit but you won't need it since the class is easy!

BEST MATH PROFESSOR. I am not good in math AT ALL. But with prof. Egley, I learned and he was so thorough. Exams are somewhat like reviews he posts. Do them and you'll do well on exams! Pay attention to his examples. Easy A. No extra credit but no need because he is just too awesome! Be dedicated and you'll get the grade you deserve. You got this!

Honestly, if it wasn't for Prof. Egley, I don't think I could of gotten back into math. If every professor taught like him, I think graduation rates would be 99%. He explains problems very well, makes jokes that you can't hold back from, and tells you, yes you can do it. Honestly, try and you will get the A. Ask.

The best professor/teacher I've ever had in my life, for any subject. I had him for Calc 1 & 2. Missing him now that I'm in Calc 3 at UH. I love his teaching method of explaining math explicitly, not skipping any steps, even for things you should really know already. Lectures are highly entertaining, he'll definitely keep you laughing. Top Quality.

It was inspiring and uplifting. He doesn't make your life harder and always helps. He wants you too learn and enjoy the math. He is not picky on small matters. And anderstands your side of equation. He was a teacher who I never forget.

To sum up Professor Egley in a few words I would say he's thorough, goofy, fair, and attentive. If you are taking Statistics(or any other math that he teaches) and want to actually retain the information taught I highly suggest you take him. He makes complicated "computations" simple to understand. I can't recommend him enough.

He is a great teacher very easy when he grades test. The homework he gives he don't grade its to help you for the test. But the connect math helps a lot also he explains things very well. If you have any questions he will help you to make sure you understand it.

HE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!! Dr Egley explains statistics in a way that will make you think you can be a math tutor. Few quizzes and about 3 exams and a final exam are all that make up your overall final grade. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING HIM, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!

He is very nice! He made those exams very straightforward each semester! Sometimes it gets a little tricky but VERY similar compare to the problems from the practice exam. but the best thing is that he lets you guys use notecards on the test! Please take him, he is awesome!! He made his class a lot of fun!

Professor Eggley does not explain the concept hes teaching enough. When you ask a question he puts you on the spot to figure it out. He goes off track when hes teaching so much that when he goes back to what he was originally talking about he doesnt explain and just finishes the problem. Hes not mean but doesnt teach thoroughly.

Loved him. Hes very funny and a great teacher (also cute). I pulled a C, but to be fair I wasnt paying attention to the lectures quite a bit because I was on my phone. Write NEATLY and CLEARLY or hell only give you partial credit. Very specific on diagrams.

Eggs is the MAN! By far the best Math professor I have come across. I'm so glad I took him for Calculus, he made it very clear and easy to follow. He knows his stuff and he tries to keep you engaged by cracking a few jokes here and there. The subject is not hard, but you do have to practice what you go over in class in. Will be taking him for Cal 2

If you have testing center accommodations, then you're gonna have to nag him about it. Often forgets to drop tests off at the testing center. Other than that he's perfect. Study guides are 90% of what's on the test, and he usually posts the answers online. Even when he doesn't, he explains everything so well you can still figure it out on your own.

Professor Egley was quite the hoot! If you struggle in math, take him! He briefly explains everything and will answer any questions if necessary. He doesn't care about attendance, but if you really want an A, go to class!! He is also hilarious and makes math so fun! I will definitely be taking him again for statistics soon!

Professor accommodates for every student by breaking down the material in a variety of ways. He will also explain prerequisite material if need be, unlike other professors. He provides practice exams which are almost identical to the exams and he allows a notecard for the exam as well. I highly recommend his class.

Prof. Egley is very funny but he's grading is serious. His class consist of 3 exam 2 quizzes and final. I like his teaching style, he simplifies it until everyone understands. He's nice but his grading can take a while so just to be safe always study. His test are a bit challenging but if you do your part you'll pass

Egley is a great, caring, and funny Professor! His class is very straightforward, your grade is made up of 5 quizzes and 4 exams (?). He does give reviews to everything and they are very similar to the real thing, so do them! Attendance isnt mandatory, but is important if you want an A. He assigns problems from the book but they arent a grade.

I took Dr. Egley in 2005/2006. His name came up with a friend so I thought I'd post a status update from a former student. He teaches you the principles of why something works. ollow his curiosity when he goes off on tangents it is pretty helpful to. I ended up a PhD in Cancer Biology and I still use what I learned for biostatistics/data analysis

He made statistics an easy class for me and this is coming from a person who HATES math. As long as you come to class, pay attention and work the assignments he gives us, there is no way you can fail the class. His lectures are not boring at all and he makes the material easy to learn. I would definitely take him for statistics!

Absolutely love this Professor, he jokes a lot and will have you dying laughing. Constantly goes over material until you get it, also breaks down everything so you can see how you arrived. Can get very off topic, but grades easily and homework is just like the test. He's forgetful, but adjustable. I've never seen him not in a good mood. TAKE HIM!

Okay, so he's an amazing person overall. A great professor, and a professional. I only have one concern which is that his class is SUPER DUPER EASY. There's no way you can't understand Calculus if you take him (Unless you have issues), but again, I feel like this might not be very helpful for higher level math courses like cal 2/3.

Great teacher, slow grader. Makes lectures interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should come because he gives hints for tests. Tests aren't updated online until the very end, so you it's a good idea to keep all your grades so you know where you're at. YOU DO NOT GET NOTE CARDS UNTIL THE LAST 2 TESTS. at least for calc 2.

hands down best math prof ive had. Point scale system-4 tests,1 final (100 pts ea), 3 super easy quizzes (10-20 pts ea), HW not mandatory but HELPS SO DO IT. TESTReview &HW. Funny guy, not boring. GIVES GREAT PARTIAL CRED ON EXAMS. Tests 12-15 questions. He lets you use notecard ONLY FOR FINAL and maybe test4. bad at grading on time but oh well.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! Best Math instructor in general I have ever had! So sad he wont be teaching Cal 2 this upcoming semester. Great teacher whose classes you will enjoy. I ended up re-arranging the order in which I took classes to line up with what he was teaching, he was that good. He will stay after class to help, funny/engaging, and I look forward to his class (except test days). If you are sick of math after high school, his class will make you interested again.

Take his exam reviews with a grain of salt. He gave test reviews, but the exam turned out to be totally different and cost me to get a lot of questions wrong even though I mastered his review. He barely replies to emails and takes a really long time in grading. He's a good professor, BUT DO NOT rely on his test reviews, study the textbook problems!

Took precal which was very nice I actually understood. He goes over problems with simple numbers to understand it clear. Does not rush and refreshes ur memory from old math classes. He doesnt grade homework but it is very helpful to practice. We had a total of 4 exams and a final and some quizzes exams were very similar to his review

You wanna easy A in a MATH CLASS take him. It's really difficult to get into his class but trust me it's so worth it to learn from him. You're not going to get a teacher like him. He literally tells you what's going to be on the exam. His hws/reviews are similar to the exam. You honestly don't even need to buy the textbook just take good notes.

Took him for statistics. wished he taught all my math classes. very straight to the point & will prepare you for the exams&quizzes which were not hard. i struggle in math so I was glad to have a professor that made things easy for you to understand. no book needed. show up & take notes!

I skipped trigonometry which in my opinion was 50% of this class. I had a hard time as I am not a very good learner. But nonetheless he is a very great professor and I would not hesitate to take his course again. I will miss his lecturing style and personality he puts into it. thank eggy

If Professor Egley isn't exactly what a math professor should be, I don't know what is. He explains concepts as if he's hearing about them for the first time too, making them seem simple at first and letting you cruise along with him through the complex topics. His teaching is so relatable and goes at the perfect pace. Just study and you're good.

All the good reviews about this professor are true. I took him for statistics and precal and I will take him again for Cal 1. He is reasonable and understanding and will make sure you understand the material. If you need him outside of class, he will try to make himself available. I swear he's the best math professor I have ever had.

Grades are calculated with 4 exams and 1 comprehensive final. He provides excellent, detailed youtube videos of the material and his specific ways of working problems. Office hours offered once a week but willing to answer any and all questions. Tests are emailed out and due back within a 2 1/2 hr window. Fantastic teacher. Cannot recommend enough

Professor Egley is great. He's the first math professor that I've had that teaches for students to understand, not just memorize equations. He's seems nice and he's pretty funny. He didn't grade homework, so all grade weight was on the tests though. He doesn't use D2L but his own website, and you do your homework and tests by hand and send a pic.

He's awesome, don't let the videos fool you he has a great Personality! Grades exams weird but its to hurt you less. Doesn't make homework from textbook mandatory and there's only 4 exams plus the final which are all easy as long as you study.

He was a cool teacher, but he is very unorganized when it comes to online classes. Your grade is solely based on your test grades which isnt very fair in my opinion. Maybe his classes in person are better, but after the experience Ive had I dont think Ill be trying them.

The good? He is entertaining. The bad? He is lazy, unorganized, and probably should have stopped teaching a while ago. I'd take someone else if you want someone who does more than just shows up and tells stories. But, if you want a passing grade and to be entertained, he is your guy.

Prof Egley is wonderful. He teaches online using video lectures and only the exams are for a grade, but you still have to watch the videos and do the homework to learn. He over-explains things in the lectures but helps you understand the material very clearly. You have to take the exams at a certain time of the day, even online so be prepared.

I never really understood math until I took this class. His lectures (they are youtube videos) contain concise info and explain clearly what we need to know. There are also worked examples in the videos. The test is built on the homework questions which aren't mandatory, but serve as the study guide. Honestly, this professor rocks and I loved class

Hands down, the best math teacher I've ever had. His lectures are great and I still use his lecture videos for Calculus 2 instead of watching the lecture videos my current professor provides. There is no graded homework assignments, but the lecture videos cover everything you need to know on the test. Your grade is entirely on your 4 tests.

His lectures are short YouTube videos and exams are online. His videos are very understandable. You must use the taught methods that he discussed in the videos. If you learned how to work out the problem differently, you will not receive credit even if it is correct. He does not give any type of extra credit. He is very knowledgeable.

Dr. Egley was a very funny professor. I had a terrible Calc 1 teacher and I guess that's why I had such a hard time in this class. If you have good understanding of Calc 1, then this class will be fun for you. I felt so dumb in here lol. He is a tough grader, very specific. No hw but gives practice problems from the book.

He said the final would be all multiple choice; it wasn't. Otherwise, he was excellent.

His lectures are thorough that you wouldn't need a textbook to pass his class. He is clear as to what will make you pass and is excellent at answering questions.

Highly recommend this professor for anyone who has 1+ jobs, he doesn't grade hw but assigns problems from the book. This is a challenging course but he makes it easy and comprehendible. There are basic forms quizzes which consist of memorizing some equations, 3 incorrect=0. His exams are fair, some multiple choice questions. Easy to pass.

Hilarious professor. My whole class has only 4 of an A. It does not mean that he is strict, nor he grades toughly, nor he gives out lot of homework. It is all about your self-consciousness. He does not care if you are late nor absent. Yet every class is extremely important. Come to class every day and pay close attention, the rest is an easy A.

One of the best professors I have ever had. He's funny yet gives out amazing lectures that are thoroughly explained along with overall being very helpful. Answers all questions asked in a respectful and informative manner. He doesn't grade homework but it's what helps you pass his exams, which is what your grade depends on.

Didn't check homework when he gave it. He moves fast because he's smart, so don't be afraid to ask questions. He's hilarious. He gives test reviews and don't buy the book because he rarely uses it and when he does, he lets you see his book for the homework questions.

For the most part, he is immensely hilarious and makes the learning environment exhilarating. He tends to post reviews for the exams and quizzes that are very relevant. They were remarkably beneficial as the test questions were alike. I've never experienced an issue with him. I've been fortunate to have him as my professor.

One of the best at LSC. My weakest subject is math but Egley made lecture hilarious and easy to follow. He is extremely forgiving and lenient (esp for a math class) even though he says hes not. Homework is optional but usually extremely similar to the test. If you go to class and pay attention, this will be an easy A class. Lovely guy.

The professor has a great teaching style and makes the class engaging. The test prep resources like worked examples are really helpful. Unstuck study is a great study tool too. Overall, a solid class if you stay on top of the work.

Professor Egley was amazing!! It was a very class, and this is coming from a student who tends to struggle with math. He made math seem very easy. I recommend taking egley for those who struggle with math!

He is very clear in his explanations and teaches extremely well. The homework is not mandatory but is great practice for the tests. His tests are easy, and he tells you what type of questions are going to be on there. He talks a lot but makes jokes, which can make it a bit entertaining.

Professor Egley was awesome!! Homework is optional in this class, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. He's a pretty funny guy and can tell a pretty good dad joke. He has quizzes on the basic forms SO LEARN YOUR BASIC FORMS there's a quizlet I made for study. Other than that, there are 4 tests and the final replaces the lowest exam score.

The only negative thing is he doesn't really respond to emails and is slow to grade tests.

He is very easy on grading. He loves making jokes but is serious when it comes to lectures. He makes math easy honestly just take him.

Prof Egley teaches math very well and makes it very clear and understandable. However, he never responds to emails, not accessible outside of class, doesn't follow syllabus, can be last minute with stuff, and no test dates on syllabus, but rather announces it in class. If you take him, just do your part in studying the material and you'll be fine.

Excellent at clearly conveying course material. If you don't understand something at first he does a good job of answering questions. He has video lectures available in case you miss a class. No unnecessary work, the lectures and homework prepare you for the quizzes and tests. Will definitely try to have him as a teacher for all my math courses.

He wasn't a bad professor, but not as strong as the reviews suggest IMO.His teaching style didn't help the material click for me. He didn't provide review answers for exam3 or final, making it hard to study. He was forgiving on exam grading. Only quizzes and exams count, so little room for error. Check his LoneStar site to see if he's a good fit
