He is an amazing prof!
ok, i don't know about easy but his grading system is genius. I believe his 80 average is an A...and 75 an A-. No need to buy the book, his notes are sufficient.
Intelligent,dedicated and stimulating.
Makes the class interesting. His notes make things easier. Gives alot of reading and if you dont do the reading it can effect your grade. Overall one of the better teachers I have had in this school.
Dr. Hill is cool and his grading system is the best.
This guy loves the subject that he teaches. He is also very relaxed and does not bust your chops, just do the papers (3 in my class) and come to the class and you should get a easy B

There is no hidden agenda behind this guys class. What you see is what you get, except of course him rolling his eyes as you walk away.But even if he hates you, he will not screw with your grade. But you have to do the work...write alot....and pay attention in class.He writes outlines, there is no need to get the book, waste of money.
Hill gives way to many writing assignments and marks them with a fine comb and is not consistent in his grading. One time he will say to capitalize a word, next assignment he marks you off for following his instructions! One time he helped me create a graph and proofed it before I handed it in, yet he still took points off. Try to avoid him.

His style of teaching leaves much to be desired. I couldn't wait for this class to end. We had to do a 5 to 7 page paper every week and he was anal in his grading. Try to avoid him.
he is a robot, not made of human parts,pray ur grandmother doesnt die while ur in his class,there ARE NO excuses. he sucks!
Anyone that doesn't like this guy just doesn't like to work. I had him as a prof for a few classes because I loved the way he teaches. He doesn't just put forth a theory - he questions how valid it is. True, he is a tough grader and is strict with APA style, but it's a benefit to psych majors. Bottom line: if you're slacker, stay away from college.
When I missed a paper because my grandmother died he asked me for a death certificate. I don't know if that's normal policy, but god, how creepy.
I love this class, no papers,no attendance, no homework, just 3 exams all semester! Explains the lectures rather well. Just know your stuff and u'll get a good grade!
Good professor. Easy and organized in his teaching. He makes outlines which are very helpful. If you undrestand everything in there, no need to read the book. Tests are all about what he said in class. They are not easy, but he curves the grades.

He was one of my favorite prof. at CSI. I am so happy I took experimental with him. All his lectures make sense and his sarcasm is hilarious! He is a fair grader and he expects form his students what all profs should, "HARD WORK!" If you are passionate about psych you will love his class!

I absolutely love this class and this professor is AMAZING!!! He knows how to teach, which means a lot in this college.

He is my overall favorite teahcer at CSI. I also had him for PSY 212. He teaches by powerpoint and grades consist of 3 tests which are curved.His tests are tricky so you'll need to study but he's a great teacher and his lectures are interesting. His sarcasm is hilarious! I will miss having him as a professor.
3 tests the whole semester. just go in and listen to the lectures nothing more is expected
I love this professor. His tests are a little hard so you have to read and study the lecture notes but his class is very interesting. Plus he has a great sense of humor you wont be bored.

I love Prof Hill. He is so passionate about what he teaches and it translates thru his lessons. Hard class yes, but if you attend all classes listen and PARTICIPATE hell like you and youll do fine. Worked for me :) He will convince you to be a feminist, chauvinists be warned!
for psychology lab...he is a great professor but the class is extremely hard and will take up all of your time. Be prepared to work your ass off.
Prof. Hill offers challenging courses, but I feel like I learned lots, wasn't bored (he's funny), and I'm more confident about grad school now.
This class rocked! The exams are tough, but if you attend class, take notes, and do the readings, you'll do well. Love Prof. Hill!

attendance doesnt count. 3 MC exams (none are accumulative), no paper. exams are a little tricky and hard at times - just pay attention in class &study for exams. dont really need to read text. gives u online copy of text so don't need to buy one. he's funny and nice
The lectures were interesting, he kept us busy or laughing, and it always seemed like the class was over too soon.
I honestly didn't like him. He was pretty easy but he was not clear and didnt really go over any of our material.

He's comes out nice and claim at first. But when the lectures continues, you start to see that he's very nasty,sees himself as above all, his quizzes are easy, but hes always throwing a curved ball. He's not considerate, and has the tendency to flip flop. APA is important, and be ready to do a powerpoint in APA as well. He's a rudely act.
If you hoping to be a scavenger hunter, talked to as a child then an adult, then take him. Also he's a flip floper, he's thinks highly of himself, compared to other professor. He is a great professor. Sarcastic and funny and keeps you interested. He gives you the material straight forward and clearly while taking the guess work out of it. He puts his notes up online so when you're in class, take notes on what he says! If you put your time in and study a couple days in advance and PAY ATTENTION in class, you'll be fine.
I just didn't see the neg that others are speaking about. Do you actually need to write a paper, yes. A very clear rubic is given as to what your paper will be graded on. Class trip to lab to teach P.P. presentation and a very cute scavenger hunt. He is not boarding, I personally like his sense of humor. I though it was very interesting.
Just for all those who registered for his 352 class this upcoming fall '15 be prepared for the most work you may ever do in you entire 4 years of college, take it from someone taking him now, he gives ALOT of work and grades hardly, doesn't curve or give extra credit, your grades stand ! Not the old Prof. Hill anymore
I love professor Hill! He definitely knows what he's talking about! His test can be tricky, so I suggest reading the textbook. Three test and an optional paper. Not going to lie he may be a little cold, or at least I felt that way, but he really is a funny professor and is passionate about what he teaches. Definitely would take his class again! :D
He is very interested in teaching the material and connects the topics and lectures with real life situations. Beware that he can be very sarcastic but it is funny if you love sarcasm. He gives 3 tests and an optional term paper. His tests can be tricky if you don't study for his tests. He curved test grades for my class luckily!

I had him for the 6 credit course. There is a lot of work, quizzes every class, new lecture and lab, multiple presentations, minimum 15 page paper, but he is very clear with what he wants and gives you a lot of class time to complete lab reports. this is a very hard class. But if you get an 80 or above it's an A-
This professor doesn't really care if you understand his lectures, he expects you to know the material. Not only that but he gets frustrated when people ask a lot of questions and seems annoyed when answering them. Very tough grader.
Whole class liked him, he is clear about what he wants and is more than willing to answer questions and help anyone out. He is little sarcastic but not towards students-only about topics. Doesn't take attendance but you should go to keep up with class assignments and when quizzes will be. No midterm or final- just quizzes after every topic.

3 ppl (myself included) dropped the class on the first day- 2 during class. Told us that he doubts people will get above a B- & that if you get into a car crash before class u need to take a pic of the cop to excuse u. Do NOT take unless EXTREMEEE feminist. Assigned so much reading on the first day. Maybe he gets better but I didn't wanna find out
I decided to withdrawal out of this class. I never met a professor this rude. Very inconsiderate and nasty. I gave him a try despite all the comments about him which turned out to be true. I would stay away. Also, he does not post slides on blackboard and rushes through the slides which doesnt give us a opportunity to jot down relevant information
Hill was a great professor. He knows his stuff, and enjoys teaching. He has a great sense of humor and makes the lectures fun! He is a bit sarcastic, but never to students, only to the material. Just do your work, show up on time, and don't talk too much to your peers. You will learn a lot from him, and lectures are very thought provoking!
Lectures were often tedious and he moves too fast. He's not a bad professor, he makes the material understandable but he's a super tough grader. Although he claims everything is in the syllabus, the grading criteria has a ton of curveballs. It almost feels impossible to please him. If you don't want to kill your gpa, don't take him.
The class may be too controversial due to different point of views and include hard quizzes, but Dr. Hill is a fair professor and grader. Work hard on your homework so you can earn a high grade. He boosts everyone's grades up at the end of the semester. Just study from your notes, the textbook and you will do fine. Good Luck! :)

Tough grader, in order to pass quizzes you have to watch all recorded lectures. Sometimes he is not clear on how he would like a paper written and even then when you do it, in the way requested you still may receive a tough grade.
His class are pretty interesting but you really need to pay attention to everything he says because he is really tough when it comes to grading. Lots of activities and papers too but above all he is very knowledgeable. you will need to get the textbook, it helps a lot.
Professor Hill is an okay Professor. I don't know if he was trying something new cause of being through into online classes. Every week there was one to two lectures to watch and a quiz, and multiply assignments to do. You didn't have to attend the zoom meetings, but they would help to go to. If you can avoid I would.
I understand its a 300 level course but he grades way too hard and will give you a low score for the littlest thing! The only good thing about his class is the quizzes every week. Other than that, terrible. DO NOT TAKE!
There's lots in this class, learning history and philosophy of psychology, along with APA style, and tons of exercises and quizzes.
This professor does not play when it comes to grading. You can miss an indent in your work and you flat out will get a 1/5 grade. (Very very tough grader). I suffered tremendously in this class just based on his grading. Overall, the class is interesting. Just wish I took it with another professor
I honestly wanted to do better in this course. I tried so hard to get my APA game right. All points taken off were because of the citing and references. He's lectures are interesting and he tries to be flexible.
If you are looking to take Darryl hill for WGS DO NOT DO IT TO YOURSELF me and four or my teammates took his class together and all struggled! he assigned way to much work 1 quiz and 2 writing assignments with a lot of reading of the textbook due every week of the course. Not only did he assign a lot of work he was a hard grader.
Just do not take any class with this professor, save yourself.
Prof hill is understanding & grades on effort. In both classes I've taken of his, I numerically received an 89 but bc I participate & actually try on my assignments, both times I've received A's. I would say this is a real college course. Don't take Prof. Hill if you are looking for handouts & an easy A. You have to work for your A in his courses.
His lectures were a boring. Make sure to take lots of notes, I had to write down everything he was saying and every slide, I did well every practice quiz but still failed almost every quiz. if your taking this class APA has to be your best friend. He is a very tough grader and if you dont know APA or learn it fast you wont do well.

The professor gives quizzes every 10 minutes in class and assigns way more work than needed. They are also very strict about APA format, even though this is an online class, which should be much simpler than it is.If you are absent you would miss a lot especially in class assignments. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Professor goes out of his was to make your life harder when taking this course. He choses the most insanely difficult ways to do assignments to the point it seems like he is doing it as a joke. You also must be absolutely perfect when doing your assignments or he will give you a 50 for something like a spelling error. He should not be teaching.
Hill is one of the best professors I've had. He explains complex concepts clearly and actually cares that students understand the material, not just memorize it. His lectures are well-structured and engaging, and he does a great job connecting theory to real-world examples, which makes the content easier to grasp and remember.
I won't hate on him too much, he was a tough proffesor but it was a good thing that he was. I always never really cared for apa style, but after taking this class I mastered apa style and that's because of his tough grading which made me care more. One thing though, I wish for extra credit or maybe a test since one absence in class can affect you.
