Way too much work for a one credit lab. All is well until Graphical Analysis is required. It's such an unstable program, and requires more work than necessary to understand a simple concept. I'll be taking this in person next semester to avoid the unnecessary amount of time required to gain knowledge on basic concepts.

Minimal instruction on error propagation. Minimal instruction on required software. No instruction on how to write a high quality lab report. Must cope with frequent errors on professor's part. Tutors will be of little help--class TA is the only reliable source of information. Plan to be in TA's office every week to make sense of it all.

Since she's the only PHY122 teacher this is more of a warning than a suggestion. This class is absolutely brutal. Lab manuals are so convoluted they seem to be in a different language, and lab report instructions are so vague that TA grading is pretty much subjective. The lab hardly relates with lecture concepts too. This class is awful, good luck!

If you are taking PHY 113, it's to complete some required credit. Expect disappointment. The department has labs that are outside the scopes of lectures, a huge number of instructors who do not speak English well, and rigorously-graded work. It's completely doable, but it's hard to get a high grade. If you want to pass, prepare to be annoyed.

This is one of the most difficult classes I've ever taken... And I'm a third-year college student. Instruction is difficult to understand with two professors that do not speak English and then a TA that is in the same boat and cannot explain ideas fully. And to top it off, google does not have the answers most of the time. Take class elsewhere...

Dolenko does nothing in this course. She also has no concept of what first-year students already know. This is the first physics lab class for engineers, most students take it concurrently with Calc II, but she expects student to use partial differentiation and differential equations in their lab reports, often expecting them to be derived.

I never actually met Dr. Dolenko, this is because ASU is too big so what ends up happening is you have a TA that is the professor and Dr. Dolenko does videos you watch as part of the pre lab. So how she teaches is pretty irrelevant, but her online office hours are a saving grace because she records them and common question are usually asked.

Professor Dolenko never showed up to teach the class, the Ta taught the class. The Ta was amazing and very caring, it was unfortunate to see him under a lot of stress teaching the class each week. Terribly organized labs, TA are unorganized, canvas page is terrible, info in the syllabus and what you actually have to do is contradicting and overall just bad. She is just the lab coordinator. The TA's are the ones actually doing the lab. I got lucky with an amazing TA. If you know physics, these are easy. The lab reports come in templates, pre-formatted. All you do is copy the info and data from the worksheet you fill out during the lab to the lab report. Much easier than CHM114 labs.

This class had weekly lab reports, which were not that hard, and lowest dropped. One lab took me 7hrs, others took me about 4hrs each. All you have to do is copy the template provided for each lab and insert everything. Each lab had a TA vid that showed step by step how to complete each, so it was very easy. Labs were graded easily, perfect scores.

Dolenko's just the lab supervisor, and most people hate labs but it doesn't really correlate to the content of the labs themselves. Each lab is taught by a different TA, so take the ratings with a grain of salt. They were easy and correlated to the lecture material, I think people are just annoyed at the fact that they had to write out lab reports.
