He will assign a quiz on Chapters 8.2 8.3 and 8.4 but will go over chapter 9.1 9.2 ane 9.3 that same day before you take the quiz. Moves wayy to fast and does not have an organized plan for how fast he should move. Gets to ahead of himself.
He is an incredible teacher. this kid that put negatives probably never showed up to class. He is thorough, fun and keeps it interesting. Failed 4 times before his class. explains everything step by step making jokes along the way and identifiable segways to keep you hooked. By far a professor to remember and appreciate. Not a single negative
he is a great guy, very attractive, and tells the best jokes
Awesome teacher. Explains things very clearly and has many little jokes to keep students awake. Probably the best math teacher i have ever had and i hate math.
By far the best professor I have had at MCC. I failed this course in the past at several locations. Prof. Friday made me enjoy what I am learning. He is BEYOND fair, patient and thorough. Makes the class fun and it is clear to see that he is passionate about what he teaches. Highly recommend him. I wish all of my professors taught this way.
He is one of the best professors I have had so far! He has a sense of humor and doesn't make the class super serious. He is great at explaining lessons and is very easy to understand. I suggest taking his class!
An amazing teacher, and a great sense of humor. Because of him, I am beginning to feel knowledgeable and building confidence. His class is enjoyable and his lectures are so clear! He explains it step by step and better than the book. He gives you the opportunity to improve your grade with extra credit. He is a professor who genuinely cares.
I loved Professor Friday... hes absolutely the best and explains the material in the easiest way even though math is never easy. He is one of the best teachers I've had.
he is the best math teacher i every took and very easy class only when it came to test u have to be really prepare bc is hard test and hard quiz too.also u will have always pay attention to him in the class
the nicest& most patient teacher I have ever had. He is so CLEAR on the procedures and what you would need to know and understand. Math is my worst subject& he made me enjoy going to class. Nice sense of humor, hates nickelback and loves death metal music..so change your ringtone just in case your phone goes off in class. def taking him for precalc
Friday is a super nice guy and is there for help if you need it. However, I felt he moved way to fast and wasn't very clear all the time. If you are a wizard at math, then you will like his teaching styles. But if you are like most students and just need calc 1 as a pre-req to transfer, then choose a different teacher. Tests are super hard!!
Best professor I have ever had! Always willing to help you, I would recommend him to anyone! I wish he taught all my classes.
Best math teacher I've ever had. I am horrible at math and in his class I got an A. He teaches everything step by step. Super willing to help. He genuinly loves his job!! He is hilarious. 3 hours of math won't even feel like 3 hours!!
One of the best math professors I have had hands down. Very clear in his teachings and his lessons are thorough and easy to digest. The lessons were a bit fast paced, but it may have been because it was a summer course. He is very helpful outside of class and his enthusiasm for math only made the class more enjoyable to be in. Amazing teacher!
Very funny, enthusiastic teacher. Wants everyone to do well and is very willing to help outside of class. Very fair grader, well worth taking if you can.
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER.. I mean it. If you want an A take his class. He is hilarious and makes math fun, which for most of us is not the case at all. He was really helpful and his tests were all of the practice test questions at the end of the chapters. I have never ever got an A in algebra, and thought I would most likely fail before taking.
He is the best math teacher I have ever had. He writes out everything he says on the board in the simplest way possible, he really does care about each student and their questions and never puts down any questions (as dumb as some questions are) hes funny too! I highly recommend him!
Mister Professor Friday Man Sir (as he likes to be called) was AWESOME! He made math fun, and I actually looked forward to going to class. He cares about helping his students, and making sure you understand and succeed in the course. He is the best maths teacher I've ever had in all my schooling career. Seriously take him.
Professor Friday, is a great teacher. I'm so glad I took class with him, he actually made learning about math fun and I understood what I was doing in the class. I actually wanted to wake up and go to class. Take his class you won't regret it!
Professor Friday is great! Every class session was entertaining due to his humorous disposition. Very clear in his expectations, and he will do what it takes to ensure your success. I would highly reccomend him to anybody taking Precalculus. Online homework is mandatory with MyMathLab and there is a department final exam.
Best math teacher hands down! I sucked at math all through high school and got C's. I took his class first year of college and passed with an A. He teaches very thoroughly and the homework is all online. there is alot of homework, but it helps you learn the material and give you a full understanding. Highly recommended teacher
If you need Math 1000, TAKE THIS MR. FRIDAY. Very clear about what he expects, ALWAYS willing to give extra help. Not enough good things can be said about Mr. Bossman. Take take take.
very unprofessional, made quizzes and tests opposite from what was on the study guide. very nerdy and told stupid jokes in front of the class. was rude and very unhelpful. WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND!!! what everyone says about him is wrong he is a horrible teacher, did not go out of his way to help you.
Dave Friday is the best professor that I had. He is very helpful and funny at the same time. I recommend him for all. When he says WINK it means that something will be on the test. He gives extra credit questions in the tests. THE BEST TEACHER.
Very hard class because I took it in the SUMMER which was a 6 week class but it would of been so easy in the fall or winter. Prof Friday is the best Math teacher you will find at Macomb. Makes a math class really fun when he cracks his funny jokes. He teaches in great detail and he is always willing to help you as much as possible.
He always made class interesting and fun to go to.He was a bit unorthodox at times, but was always willing to help any student(he just didn't hold your hand). He was always available to help you in his office before and after class. He even helped STUDENTS NOT EVEN IN HIS CLASS! Over all he is an awesome teacher, and kinda cute in a nerdy way.
His lectures are so bad that you have to supplement them with YouTube, MyMathLab, and anything else you need because getting help from him is like pulling teeth. He is very unprofessional. The problems on the test are nothing like the ones covered in class; he intentionally does the "easy" problems during lecture. Avoid him for Trig.
BEST MATH TEACHER AT THIS SCHOOL!!!! He is brilliant, funny and makes it his primary goal that you, the student, succeed. When he is not in his office, he is only a text message away. He will ALWAYS answer your questions, and if you don't understand something, he will reteach it to you outside of class. He is the only math teacher I'll take now.
He is the best Teacher, and care about his student a lot. He is sooo funny :).
He is one of my favorite teachers. He helps you whenever you step by his office. Quizzes are take home and we had 4 tests and final exam but you can drop one of the tests. He is funny in his own way.. would take him again
This man made me like math. He tells you what will be on the test, and gives out review guides. Make sure you can do all the problems on the review guide, and you're sure to do well on the test. Some of them appear exactly out of the book! Lectures are really fun. Bring him tacos.
I enjoyed his class. Hes a young guy (im guessing early 30s) and has a goofy personality which not everyone may like, but he explains things thoroughly and doesn't treat people like idiots for asking questions. My only complaint is that he is very slow at grading tests and quizzes which is frustrating if you like to stay current with your grades
I hate math, it is my least favorite subject because I have struggled in it in the past, until I took this class. I haven't went below a B+ on any testsquizzes yet. He drops lowest quiz grade. (all quizzes are take home) He is funny, and always happy. Gives extra credit often. He really wants his students to pass, and I would take him again!
Professor Friday is one of the best professors you will ever have. He is always very clear as to what will be on the tests and his notes are exactly what you will need to do your homework. I took him for two different math classes and would recommend him to anyone in need of a math class. He is always there if you need help.
Good professor. Explains everything thoroughly and always answers any questions you have. Exams are pretty hard but usually have extra credit questions and he will drop your lowest score. Quizzes are take home. He has a dry sense of humor I thought was funny. As long as you work hard and do your study guides anyone can pass his class.
Great professor with a drier sense of humor. Thoroughly explains material and you can tell he loves calculus. I found the tests difficult but study guides are given- DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS. Take home quizzes. Study and practice as much as possible. Didn't really like the online hw, I'd rather do book problems. Definitely recommend. Bring tacos.
If you must take calculus, you take him and only him. Best lectures because his explanations were crystal clear; he makes jokes so none of his lectures are boring. Only thing that I didn't like and was useless was webassign but every professor has to do it. You can textcall him whenever you need help. Dave is the man, take him or you'll regret it.
Dave is a fantastic teacher for any mathematics course you can take at MCC You work for your grade but he's the best teacher you'll ever take. You work for your grade but if you ever need help just give him a call or text and he'll be there for you. Just study for the tests and do the book problems he assigns you. Take calculus with him only IMO.
Funny Professor, he knows his subject and made math sorta interesting. It's not an easy A unless yoh love math. If your just taking a math class because you need to you'll most likely get a B in his class depending on if it's above math 1000.
Professor Friday Boss Man Sir was a really great to learn from. He is funny which makes the class more interesting to get through. He always answered questions when needed and he provided a review for the test. Some problems from the review did appear on the test! It is very hard not to like this guy so if you get the chance, take him!
Completely hilarious professor. Definitely has a great personality. Dry Sense of humor that will keep you in class. However, Tests are EXTREMELY difficult. Get ready to go down to the tutoring center, or have tons of homework and review. He gives good review packets. You might need to go ahead and disagree with him to get his attention.
Good luck getting your tests graded in a reasonable amount of time.
If you need to take pre calc take it with him. easy teacher very clear if you pay attention in class youll be fine
I loved the energy he puts in his lectures (never got sleepy through any of them), quizzes are take home and due a week from the day he hands them out. I especially love the fact that you can contact him during anytime of the day. He also gave us options on the exams (such as answer 2 of the 3). Nothing bad except CALC II itself was difficult.
Best math teacher ever in MCC: Always there to help, Gives extra credit and so funny.
Friday is honestly one of the best math professors I've ever taken, he's hilarious and he's always ready for questions by text or email and he definitely cares about his students. He gives a lot of extra credit on his exams and I think that they are pretty difficult but if you do the review problems and take good notes, you'll be fine.
I took him for Linear Algebra, and I have to say, Professor Friday is easily the best math professor I have ever had. His lectures teach you everything you need to know, and he assigns ungraded homework that supplements his lectures. I got a 4.0 in the class and if it wasn't my last math class I'd definitely take him again.
He is the best! study the study guide and you will be fine. He is very helpful and nice. If you need help you can see him in his office hours and he will help you a lot. I would recommend him.
Professor is by far one of the best math professors at macomb community college, if not the best. his lectures are concise while at the same time entertaining as much as you can make a math class be. The tests were not extremely difficult if you prepare for them, and if you are not understanding something he has office hours which are very helpful.
A true stud muffin.
Friday is AMAZING! His lectures and weekly quizzes are exactly what is expected on exams. He is always willing to help inside and outside of class. He drops your lowest test score. Final exam is cumulative. He is not only an outstanding professor, but he is hilarious and made my 8p.m. lecture fun and barable. You WONT regret taking math with him.
Prof. Friday is the best math teacher I've ever had in my life. His explanations are very detailed and provides many examples step-by-step. He also makes the class fun and is very funny. Take advantage of the review sheets he gives to prepare for tests and do all of the MyMathLab homework and take-home quizzes. Definitely my favorite prof. at MCC.
One of the greatest professors i have had. Professor Friday is very fair with his class and grading, his explanations are very clear and he answers any and all questions. He is also very funny and with the times, class is very enjoyable to go to and for a math class it went by quick.
As long as you show up and pay at least sort of pay attention you should have no trouble passing. Quizzes are all take home, tests aren't too hard to pass, and I seriously doubt anyone could fail his class. Got a pulse? Extra credit. Smile? Extra credit. Think you won't pass? Extra credit. Exaggerated about the extra credit? Only slightly...
Friday is one of the best professors I've had. He makes class fun and his lectures are easy to understand. If you don't understand something, he will explain it to you until you do. quizzes are take home, 5 tests, 2 exams. He is always available after class if you need tutoring. He's a little slow at getting tests back. BRING HIM TACOS, trust me!
Friday is a beast!! he is fair with his students and is hilarious!! for precalc he gives out 5 test that can be hard but they are passable for sure!! he is honest and a very nice person! the my math lab is alot of work but you can get through it, he gives extensions out so thats nice! its DJ NEMO NEMO I GOT YOU FAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he is very nice and friendly, he is still young and willing to help. if u have any question or struggling with a problem, just text him and he will replay immediately. do all the problems on the review sheet and u will get an A defiantly
Friday is a very nice professor. He's always willing to help you no matter what and whenever. His doors are always open for his students. After each topic he basically spends the class with examples. 5 tests, take home quizzes, online homework. Before each test, you sign that if you cheat, you'll receive a ZERO! Do not cheat! It frustrates him.
Best teacher I've had in years. He's down to earth and actually cares about if you learn from his class. Doesn't help that he's funnier than a lot of comedians nowadays. Absolutely is a must when choosing any math class at Macomb.
I was a little skeptical about taking MATH1465 because it is a combination of two classes, but Friday has made it so easy for me to do well. He is always cracking corny dad jokes too and makes the 2 hour lecture not so miserable. Also offers a lot of extra credit on the tests. and gives out candy :)
I thought I hated math until I met Dave Friday. He is truly passionate about teaching, and he really cares about his students' success. His lectures are as entertaining as they are informative, and he gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. But, don't get me wrong, you will work your tail off in this class. It is a very challenging course.
Never would I have imagined that a I would actually enjoy a 2.5 hour accelerated pre calc class but I did. This guy is hilarious and makes math fun to learn, pay attention in class, do the homework, ask questions, you can 4.00
dude was hilarious and my favorite math professor by far
he is the best math professor that i have ever worked with
Aside from being the devastating handsome (to the point of distraction) and possessing a razor sharp whit, professor Friday could teach a troglodyte to differentiate string theory. Yes, he is that good. Take him for any math class you can, but sign up early because his classes fill up instantly. dp.
Professor Friday really cares about his career and his students. He really knows how to make a 2.5 hour class go by quick with his hilarious dad-ish jokes. He does want you to do your homework and know your material. If you put in the time and effort for the class, as you should, you shouldn't have an issue passing. Would take the class again.
Great professor. I took this class in the summer which made it harder than it should be because of the pace, but if you were to take this class in the fall or winter semester it should be much easier. He cares a lot about his students and wants you to pass but at the same time learn the material.
Professor Friday really knows how to teach the material really well. He explains everything in a way that makes it easy to understand. He also provides hints and practice problems for upcoming exams which really helps. I am really glad to have him as a professor and would also recommend him to anyone taking a math class.
Truly cares about his students. His classes are definitely tough compared to other math professors, but I came out with an A because I put in the extra effort to do well. I had forgotten to do the beginning packet assignment, and he let me have extended time. I would've dropped if it wasn't for that. Seriously an amazing and funny guy.
Taking this course with Prof. Friday made it significantly more difficult. The test reviews are purposeless and should be thrown in the Recycling bin shortly after receiving them. Practice problems have no correlation to whats actually on the exams. All in all he's a nice guy I just wouldn't recommend taking him if you want to 4.0 this course.
TOUGH GRADER.
Best prof ever ---- the squad
Professor Dave Friday is a tough grader and his test is so hard. Its almost impossible to get an A in his class, so many students failed The class with him and they were able to pass with A with different professors. I will not recommend you taking him for any reason.
Probably the greatest teacher at Macomb, and I dont say that lightly. If you have any questions you have his cell number. The issue as other students have commented on is his tests. You learn so much and are so good at calculus... then you take his test and get a 50%. 10 people took the final for his class out of a full class + wait list.
Mr Professor Friday Boss Man Sir is the greatest math prof youll ever have. He knows the material by heart and teaches with a passion. He is HILARIOUS and gives tips to memorize formulas. Dont listen to lazy students who say study guides dont match the tests. Study & do HW (helps). If you want an A work for it, and hes always happy to help!
Prof Friday is the best math professor I have had at MCC so far. His lectures are explained very clearly and he loves to throw jokes in too. His tests are very fair and the homework is manageable. I had him for accelerated precalc and I wish I could have him for calc too. He is accessible outside of school and will help you individually if you ask.
Incredible People like Professor Friday are few and far between. His hilarious jokes and superior teaching skills help immerse you into the lectures. Quizzes and notes make up a good portion of the exams. He also allows for the use of a straight edge for those crisp lines. All things considered, I'm grateful for my experience with him.
He lectures on and on and when you get to the exam its like what even happened? He wants to make students learn but how can you when you dont know where hes pulling the problems from? Should have listened to others and not have taken him AT ALL.
Dave needs to get his glasses checked out at the eye doctor because he simply does not see how bad he is making this class be. Smh
Professor Friday is a great teacher. He's gifted in his ability to explain difficult topics. Rather than throw formulas at you, he will take them time to derive them so that you can see the big picture. Also, he will often show multiple ways to solve a problem while including each step along the way. I would recommend him for any math class.
Professor Friday is that one smart Math friend u wish u had. He teaches with passion and work out many problems with us in class to prepare for exams. Hes considerate and funny and brought us snacks before big tests. His teaching ability is incredible and even with the heavy class load it felt manageable.
Lectures are just him doing problems on the board and the tests and quizzes are nothing like his examples. He doesn't teach you why you should be doing all the steps so come exam time lots of people got stuck on where to go next. He drops the lowest exam and gives some extra credit. Final is worth 25% of your grade. Study hard and you will pass.
Professor D cares about his students and makes himself available to you. After two semesters, I've learned what he expects. Don't cheat, work with others, do all of your homework, study your damn quizzes, and it's not about the letter grade - it's about learning. Food makes him happy. His passion for math and teaching is what makes the class fun.
I dont know why people give this professor a good rating. This class is very difficult! The class examples are very easy and then he makes the tests EXTREMELEY hard. Tough grader, doesnt give out extra credit. This was by far the hardest math class Ive taken. I understood the concepts, and he made the tests so hard it was impossible to pass
His grading is very hard towards quizzes and test. If you ask him a question he makes u look stupid and doesn't help. He gets mad at the whole class when certain people are the problem. Make sure to do good on the first two tests if u still make the decision and to take him. If you fail the first two then just drop the class because he grades slow.
His grading is terrible. If you ask him a question he makes u look stupid and doesn't help. He gets mad at the whole class when certain people are the problem. Make sure to do good on the first two tests if u still make the decision and to take him. If you fail the first two then just drop the class because he grades slow.
The best math instructor I've ever had he made the lecture enjoyable and easy to understand. All homework was optional since it was a summer class, but for the tests he just put the EXACT SAME problems as the homework, so do the homework anyway. He is a rigorous test grader though, be meticulous with your notation or suffer the consequences.
Great professor, difficult course. Professor Friday does a great job explaining the material thoroughly and makes little to no mistakes. He always answers questions and I dont think I would have passed calc 3 without him.
Gives take home quizzes, gives hw online on mymathlab (a lot of it), he teaches good but gives multiple ways to solve a problem which confuses you, but when you take the test It's hard to pass and his study guides are pointless and do not help at all, he is good as a person but his tests are wayyy different than his quizzes and hw.
I have never spent so much time towards a course and gotten absolutely nothing out of it. I did EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM in his syllabus as well as the every single problem he assigns in his reviews and even the even problems. The highest I managed on his exams was a 70%. Ended up not passing the course. I was always lost and confused in his lectures.
Takes a while to grade your assignments but is really funny and does everything he can to help you out. He is far more accessible than any other professor I've had. and teaches you more in-depth than average which helps out a lot.
I've taken both acc. pre-calc and calc 1 with him. He is very good at answering questions and explaining things fully so the whole class understands. He also makes a point to be available outside of class for any additional help you may need (learning center, zoom, email, and phone). Does his best to make class engaging even if material is boring
Like many have said, there are tons of positives to taking his class. Funny, knows his stuff, will provide help outside of class. He does grade difficult, he looks for the process, you can get a good grade in the class without getting the correct answers on tests. Best advice, hammer out the section reviews. Prove you the material. Math is hard.
So bad attitude and when you ask him question, he makes you look stupid. Very disrespectful , I dont recommend him.
Overall professor Friday is probably the best professor I've ever had. He has online videos for you to watch and has lectures that are there mostly for student questions. Always available to help outside of class. He is a tough grader but if you know the stuff there is no problem. Lectures are engaging and he actually cares about his students.
Great Professor
Everyone who has given Professor Friday a negative review are either cheaters or people who didn't want to do their work and left it to the last second. He cannot control Knewton, however he can teach you and help you understand if you attend his office hours and just listen to what he has to say. He is by far the best Professor I have EVER had. :D
Professor Friday is the best Math professor any student can ask for. He helps you not understand the Math of the material but they what and why of said material. He always does his best for his students and tries to help them as often as he can. Anyone reading this and your debating to have him for math, don't debate just take him! He is the best!
He is a pretty cool teacher but cares too much about people uploading his quizzes on Chegg. He checks that thing pretty often so make sure you don't go to Chegg or any websites related to them. He does give partial credits for his tests but there are too many of them. Be ready to write mostly writing during lectures. He has an amazing cat!
He is very good teacher, he explain the materials very well. all you have to do is study hard and you should be fine :)
horrible professor, toke him two semesters in a row, very disrespectful, makes very awkward comments, I am middle eastern and is very racist and sexiest towards men. He's completely changed since last year, he's very mean and disrespectful. I don't know what's wrong with him. HE PROCTORS OUR EXAMS. DONT TAKE HIM PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.
Perhaps the best Math teacher/professor I've ever had, great guy. Like any Calculus class, the lectures at first to me at least seem incomprehensible, but if you do the many homework assignments (which are pretty flexible in their due dates) you should be fine. He makes himself VERY accessible- by DM and in 6h of scheduled office hours a week.
Just an overall great professor. Saves his notes so you don't miss a thing. gives a review of material on the test. Very understanding and has the best cat in the world!!! Great attitude with all people from different parts of the world. I took him for precalc and will take him all the way to calc 4 with no hesitation. TAKE HIM HE IS AWESOME!!!!!!!
Prof Friday's classes are really fun to attend and the classes don't really seem bothersome. I took the class over the summer it was a bit more hectic than normal but it was still very manageable. He really cares about the students and is almost always willing to explain a topic again without making you feel bad about it. Can't recommend him enough
Prof Friday is one of the nicest, friendliest profs I have ever had! Math is a tough subject for me but he explained everything and responded quickly to all my questions. Spread the Knewton homework out, take good notes, and you will have no trouble in this class!
Prof Friday is the BEST prof at Macomb!! he really wants you to succeed and is so kind. Lectures are AMAZING, super clear, and he is very passionate about his job. The homework is broken up into "units" and everything is online which is super helpful because you get instant feedback. Weekly quizzes plus around 6 tests that are only 25 questions.
Be prepared to work! He is the real deal! Study, go to at least one of his study hours, watch his videos, ask him questions and you will be fine. He is very lenient and fair when grading us and can be picky tbh. Do not miss any class sessions or else you will fail quickly! Cool dude but his cat is cooler
Okay this professor is AWESOME. Wish all math teachers were like him. Ive been scared away from Math by other teachers, so hes refreshing. Funny, engaging, and very helpful. Has an awesome cat. Im taking acc pre-calc and there is a looooooot of homework. Be prepared for that. But he is a phenomenal teacher and I couldnt recommend him more.
Professor Friday is one of a kind, the best professor out there, in general but an outstanding math professor. He always starts off relating new concepts back to a previous class, refreshing material with a review. Super friendly & understanding, makes sure you understand, allows you to ask any question. Available in OH for multiple classes
He has to be the best professor out there. While yes he does grade tough he does everything he can to make sure you get an A. He has very good online lectures and is always encouraging student participation. He also has 6 office hours a week to give students extra help. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to learn the material.
I literally want to give him a bad score so less people take his classes, fr my favorite teacher ever. took accel precalc, twas hard but hes seriously the best teacher ive ever had, i imagine it would be impossible for me to pass this without him.
Professor Friday is the best mathematics instructor. His lecture is amazing, and you will always find his notes helpful. He usually holds office hours during the weekends and give you the chance to ask extra questions and get to the right answer. He is amazing
A degrading professor who needs to learn how to communicate with people and be careful of the things he says.
Friday is a great teacher & person. Treats his students like close friends and is always willing to go above and beyond. Very accessible outside of class & Office hours. I had a horrible experience in pre-calc before this, but he made me enjoy math again (as much as math can be). Would highly recommend him for any math class. Gave out lots of EC!
I had Professor Friday for Cal 3. It was a remote class. The class was set up easy to follow and he always took time to explain problems in class. Taking excellent notes or printing them off helps with test prep. I found that participating only if just typing the answer into the chat made class more beneficial. Also his TA, his cat, is awesome.
I had no business taking this class, I completed the re-requisite but that was it. Don't miss understand, I worked hard to get my grade there's no freebies in this class. However, Dave is a fantastic teacher and I wish there were more out there like him. First class I walked away from that I felt like I actually learned something.
Avoid this teacher. Tough grader!
Wonderful Professor, but extremely hard course. If you aren't very good at math, don't take an accelerated class just to only have to take one class instead of two... that's what i did and it did not workout well! But overall Prof. Friday is a wonderful teacher & his lectures were precise and neat, i just cant do math lol.
Loved professor Friday. I was scared to take Calc 3 after the struggle I had with Calc 2, but let me tell you, Professor Friday couldn't have made it more comfortable and easier to understand. He's also very funny during his lectures. not planned out funny, more quick witted off the cuff funny. Overall, please take him! Also, Prof Friday, Go Lions
I had him for accelerated pre calc it was a hard class, however, he is an amazing teacher! He is very funny and keeps the class engaging. Do not miss a lecture, if you do make sure you get the notes from someone in class. Lots of tests. Overall great teacher and he explains things thoroughly.
I really enjoyed having this professor. He was kind and actually wanted us to succeed in his class. He livened all of his lectures up to make them easier to pay attention to. It was never a dull moment with his corny jokes. One of the best math teachers I've ever had.
Make sure you go to lecture and take good notes, and you'll do great in any of his classes. Great professor
Probably the best math teacher I have had.
He was amazing. He keeps you immersed in his lectures, and his technique in teaching this class is very great. If i do take summer classes again, I would love to have Professor Friday again. It was a grueling 5-week course in Calculus III, but he made it very intriguing and very fun. (Dont forget to do a little slashy-slashy :>...)
Totally awesome teacher who actually cares about teaching. He wants to be there, and makes the extra effort to help struggling students gain an understanding.
I had Professor Friday for Calculus 1-3 while I was still in h.s.. Professor Friday has truly mastered the art of math lectures and knows how to keep his students engaged with his quick-witted humor. Gives great examples, holds office hours (which many students attend), and gives EC opportunities. The best math professor I've ever had, hands down.
Absolutely hilarious guy, I'd take calc just to be in his class again. He assigns weekly take-home quizzes that keep you on track even if you don't touch Knewton (I know from experience.) The test reviews he provides are crazy useful as well.
If you're looking for a guy that makes you enjoy your time in class as much as out of class, this is the guy. Friday is a jokester that really knows how to teach and help you understand the math really well. The end of the semester is genuinely sad since he's that good. He provides you with more than enough resources that mirror his exams.
The best professor that I've ever had in my life. He explained well and care for his students.
Had him 3 semesters. Best professor ever and great guy.
I highly recommend Professor Friday for Calculus. He gave concise lectures that gave us all the information we needed to know for the weekly assignments. During his lectures, he'd find a way to turn an otherwise boring topic into something very entertaining. The tests are difficult, but he graded them pretty reasonably.
Professor Friday is a very caring professor who is clearly very passionate about his job. He is always ready to answer any questions you may have and never gets frustrated with you. He makes the class entertaining by throwing in a few jokes every once in a while. Professor Friday's dedication to teaching is truly inspiring. I truly recommend him.
Caring and smart professor. Reasonable grader but takes long to grade. His lectures are not that good bc they LACK sufficient examples and thorough explanations. The homework and test questions are anywhere from similar to COMPLETELY different than what was taught in class. Be prepared to study around 15 to 25 hours a week. He's available for help!
One of the most benevolent professors you could ever have. Despite outwardly lacking some compassion, he genuinely cares about his students. Grading CAN be harsh but usually reasonable. Listen closely in class, don't ask stupid questions, and do the study guides. P.S. a lot of the content on the tests are from his YouTube videos. Be resourceful.
goat. Had him for Calculus 2 as well, and he also taught that well. Pay attention, ask questions when needed, & watch his videos (smash the like button too), they really help. Can also contact him any time and he'll be happy to help.
I had him from Precalculus all the way to Calc 3. Show up, ask questions, shoot him a text, go to his office hours when you can.Actually talk to him. Shoot the breeze with him and you'll find life wisdom along with math. He teaches a lot of sections every semester, so if he's taking a while on grades, its because 5 other sections. He is awesome!
Professor Friday makes math engaging with his humor and clarity. While challenging, he provides ample resources and support. unstuckstudy was a great supplement for study prep.
Really good teacher
Honestly the best math professor I have ever taken. He keeps class interested with his weird sense of humor. Lowest test score gets dropped. Lots of opportunities to get partial credit on each exam. Practice tests are pretty similar to what is on the actual test. Good amount of extra credit as well.
He took me under his wing during the winter semester, easily the most impactful teacher I had. I was going through a rough patch, and he was incredibly understanding, making class something I looked forward to. Calc 3 will be a breeze with him, just attend class, do the assignments, and practice exams.
The 5-week linear class needed effort, but the concepts are fairly straightforward, and he explains them clearly. Pretty sure he only offers it in the summer, but his classes are really enjoyable, so don't let the pace of the class scare you away from taking him. He does a good job and provides plenty of insight on the tests/exams.
Genuinely the best math professor I have ever had. Very clear teaching style, easy to take notes and ask questions. Understanding and approachable. Just a good guy and he goes above and beyond to help his students. And he's funny.
Professor Friday makes learning mathematical concepts extremely easy with the way he is able to break them down. He's got a great sense of humor to lighten the mood from time to time and he provides a lot of resources to help study for tests and better understand certain sections in the book.
Professor Friday is a great math professor. I feel like a got a great education and received the final calculus skills needed for upper level physics and engineering courses at a four-year university. If you did well in Calc 1 and 2 then you will find Calc 3 easy. Professor Friday would be my top choice for any math course if he is available.
