HE WANTS ALL HIS STUDENTS TO PASS AND ENJOY THE CLASS. REALLY SEXY ACCENT BUT HES SEXY IN GENERAL....YUMMMMMM
great instructor! i had fun taking this class.though its not an easy A, its very helpful.;)
he is a great teacher! he cares about his student and he wants everyone to pass. he helps if you need it. theres a lot of notes, but ofcourse there would be.. it's anatomy. it's fun and he's very funny!

GOOD PROFESSOR....REALLY CARED ABOUT HOW YOU DID AS LONG AS YOU SHOWED EFFORT....ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP.....MY STUDY GROUP PESTERED HIM WITH QUESTIONS AND HE WOULD ANSWER ALL OF THEM....THERE ARE LAB AND LECTURE EXAMS FOR ABOUT 6 SECTIONS PLUS THE FINAL...NO LIES IT'S A HARD CLASS AND YOU MUST STUDY TO GET A GOOD GRADE, THERE'S NO OTHER WAY!!!!
Professor Gayle is a really nice man who cares if his students are not doing well. He answers everyones questions (even the dumb ones) and he likes to laugh. there is hardly ever homework and he likes to do his quizzes online. but he is one of the harder anatomy teachers, but if you have to take such a hard class... take him! His final is easy!
Dr. Gayle is the best Anatomy teacher in the whole world. He's very helpful and gives a lot of extra credit. I definitely recommended him.
AWESOME teacher. Class is hard and you most defianetly have to study, but you will learn a lot. Dr. Gayle really cares about his students and gives plenty of extra credit to help your grade. Very approachable. Lab tests are hard and you must spend time in the lab studying to do well but GREAT OVERALL TEACHER that wants you to succeed.
take good notes, pass class!!
Dr. Gayle is the BEST teacher ive ever had. he explains everything so well and he knows his stuff. he made class enjoyable and fun even though it was a really hard class. you definately have to study or there is no way you'll do well.he wants everyone to do well. very excellent teacher...if you have to take anatomy...TAKE DR. GAYLE!!!!
Dr. Gayle is one of the BEST teachers I've ever had. He is super nice! You have to be in class everyday for the lecture because all his exams are basically taken from it. Actually, i think, compare to other Anatomy teachers, he is probably the most lenient and the easiest. I got an A in this class. I love Anatomy :) I absolutely recommend him!
Dr. Gayle is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He is very enthusiastic and knowledgable about the Human Anatomy. Very clear, able to follow, draws great diagrams on the board which really clarify the lecture
Dr.Gayle was a very helpful teacher. His class is difficult because there is so much material covered everyday in lecture, AND in lab. He answers all questions and gives out EC all the time.PLUS he talks JUST like eddie murphy, which makes it seem like donkey from shrek is lecturing if you're looking away. Great class.
mr. gayle is a good teacher but..he gives hard tests..its not like 1 or 2 chapters to a test its like 5 or 6 chapters to a test..its to much information to hold in the brain..he only gives extra credit like 3 times out of the whole semester..he talks super fast and expects you to know all the information given by the day of the test...!!! NOT EASY
Take his class! The subject is not easy; however, Dr. Gayle makes all the lessons crystal clear. Especially, I like how his notes are organized. He is friendly, so don't be afraid to ask any questions about anatomy.
Dr. Gayle is the best teacher teaching Human Anatomy. Take him. He is very helpful, and he knows his subject. EC is always available. Anatomy is hard but he helps you through it. Good Luck.....
DR.Gayle is the best anat teacher that lbcc has. Extremely helpful and dives ALOT of extra credit. It is a hard subject but believe me the load will prepare u for physio and bio.If u think this is hard, just wait til u get 2 those classes. This is nothing!! Loved him!
Dr.Gayle is a very good teacher. It is a hard class. Hang in there use his study guides on line, ask him questions if you need help. He cares about his students and wants you to do well. Go to the lab for mock test ( A MUST ) and try to get in a study group. Put in a minimum of 10 hrs per week in studying an you will pass the class.
Have to be wiling to work. You will learn the subject though.l
DR. GAYLE IS AWESOME! I'M NOT THAT SMART WITH SCIENCE COURSES BUT HE HELPED ME A LOT! I GOT AN A WHEN I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD. HIS EXAMS/QUIZZES ARE DIRECTLY FROM HIS OUTLINE! HE ALSO GIVE TONS OF XTRA CREDIT! VERY CONSIDERATE OF YOUR GRADE IF YOU WORK HARD. TAKE HIM!
Tough class, willing to work hard. But you learn a lot. give extra credit
Great teacher for a hard subject. Put in like 20 hrs of study and got an A. Dr. Gayle will always help. The best teacher for Anatomy. Thanks Dr. Gayle.
Dr. Gayle is awesome! Very hard class but he will stay after with you to help and answer any questions. Is willing to work with you if you work hard! Gives extra credit and offers many study tools. I would highly recommend him!
Dr Gayle is the best teacher I've had in these science classes. He's very helpful and class is entertaining. Espcially for a 5hr anataomy class in the Summer!!! Take him, gives extra credit but much more you'll learn alot. His exams are hard but work hard and you'll pass with his help.... and he's cute!!! Thanks Dr Gayle, sorry our cat was stinky!
Anyone stupid enough to take anatomy during the summer should at least make sure they pick a good professor. Dr. Gayle's class is very difficult, but his lectures make sense. He tells you what will be on the test, and gives out extra credit like he's getting a tax deduction from it. If you work hard, you'll pass the class. Expect to study a lot!
Dr. Gayle is the best teacher for anatomy. He gives out a lot of extra credit and is very helpful when you need him. The subject is hard but he cares about everybody's grade. Take him plus he's cute
Grrrrrrrrr Hes good looking!!!!! One great teacher too! HELPFUL!!! 4 lecutre exams along with 4 lab exams and the final is a cumulative exam. Essays on his lecture exams but mostly multiple choice. He's challanging, yet again college in general is! Be ready to put in HOURS to at least maintain a B in the class!!!!!! Hes a hunk, its wonderful starin
I am one of the lazy students who ended up withdrawing the class. Dr. Gayle is a great professor although his lectures aren't very clear. He has a Jamaican accent and he stumbles in between his words. First day, we covered chapter 1 and expected to take a quiz. You will need your books BEFORE you attend this class. Study, use study guide!
Dr. Gayle is very helpful, he is the best science teacher in lbcc..gives a lot of extra credits..take him u won't regreat it!!! Greatttt and sexy teacher!!!
Dr. Gayle is one of those teachers that will be their for you when u need help with lecture notes, clarifying certain issues you may have about a topic disscussed during class and very helpful with labs. Outstanding teacher and extremely helpful to all his students, but prepare to work hard because this class isn't a walk a the park. You need to strive hard for the grade you'd like to have & if u do that then you'll achieve the best reward, an "A" in the class. Good Luck!!!
I RAtE him an A for Teaching. Not only does hehelp you whenever you need help, but you learn a lot!. Very Energetic n VERY GOOD LOOKING!
I don't think I have ever had an instructor quite like Dr. Gayle. He truly wants all of his students to succeed. Great energy, very approachable, very helpful. He has both a twitter and facebook account where you can easily reach him if need be. He's very attentive and quick to respond. Btw, I took him for both Anat & Physio. Awesome instructor!
he has a good heart..he is there with you to go through the bull crap (hard exams) but gives great rewards for your effort...he wants you to succeed..one of the BEST teacher i ever had.... and yes he is GOOD LOOKING ;)
Dr. Gayle is an amazing prof. Don't be misled by his ratings on here; this class is not an 'easy' A (phys). However, Dr. G makes it very possible to obtain the grade you're aiming for. He's very approachable in class, and through facebook/twitter. Its awesome. Be ready to study study study. I studied like no other, and believe me, it paid off :) !
cool dude, dont hesitate to ask him for help, very helpful in the long run and always game to give good advice. Follow his slides on the teacher web website
Dr. Gayle is the Bomb!! Just make sure you come to class, and study.. a lot!!
I had him for Physiology and I'm so glad I did! He is a GREAT teacher. He's funny and loves what he does which definitely transfers to his teaching. Don't let the easiness rating fool you, you will NOT do well if you don't study...a lot!!! He also really cares about the students and how you do in his class...gives extra credit which is nice!
He is very generous with his time and helpfulness. He wants students to succeed. Very accommodating. Nice yet he knows what he is talking about! Gives a lot of information, so you better study hard if you want a high grade in his class.
Dr. G is the best. He provides detailed information using powerpoint slides and he has such enthusiasm when he does his lecture. He is very helpfull and ia always concerned of the students' understanding of the lecture, as well as of how the students are doing in the exams. His class is hard but if you study, you'll be fine. Want an "A"?Study hard!
AHHA DR. G'S AWESOME! Oh man, he is FUNNY and very very helpful. You'll love anatomy once you take him. ahahha very chill professor, he'll teach you everything you need to know.
He's a nice man, very approachable, but of course Anatomy is very hard. You got to do a lot of self studying to pass. Overall, take him! He gives extra credit! =]
Awesome teacher! He knows what he is talking about, but YOU WILL NOT PASS THIS CLASS WITHOUT STUDYING. I have never studied so much for a single class in my entire life. He gives extra credit, and drops ur lowest quiz score. Do not hesitate to ask any questions, he will always help.
This class is very very hard. As for extra credit there isn't any at all. If you are young and cute he will pass you for sure!!!! Overall good teacher gives too much info for a quiz exams are very hard!!!!!!
This class was hard! but Dr. G will push you towards your goal. He's a great anatomy professor. He's quick at updating grades online so students are able to see their progress in the class. He gives extra credit equally to the whole class. He post power point lectures online for students!!! that is a luxury! not all teacher do that.
This class was very hard. You need to study a lot and pay attention to the lectures. This class is for serious hard-workers and dedicated people who have time to study long hours for this class.
As long as he knows that your studying hard and never miss a day of class, he'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
Excellent teacher who will push you farther than you thought was possible... Approachable, knowledgeable, and loves to teach. Study Study Study... Took him for Physiology as well, and learned so much that the rest of my classes are so easy after that. If you take in the summer, don't take anything else or expect to have a life.
He is very approachable and accessible via FB, twitter, email, etc. All his PP lectures are available for download. Great professor!!!
He's a great teacher, totally approachable. He wants you to succeed. You absolutely must study if you want to do well. His exams are tough.
i really enjoyed this class because the teacher isnt boring. i would recommend this teacher. all u need to do is go to class and pay attention. its alot of memorization but thats pretty much it.
He is an absolutely fantastic teacher. He takes time to explain everything & gives you all the tools you need to pass. Anatomy is a difficult class but he makes it a little easier by always being clear & helpful. He teaches off powerpoint & makes them available for you to print out. He also makes himself very available with facebook & twitter.
Dr. Gayle is awesome! Very helpful and extremely approachable sexy man. This class is hard period so you have to put a lot of time and effort into it but he will make the class as fun and interesting as possible. After this class your other classes will be a piece of cake.
Dr. Gayle is an awesome teacher. his class was pretty hard but if you study and do the work, you will do good in the class. If there is SI, go to it because it is very helpful also. he is pretty handsome to look at which is a plus in my book. Hahaha.
Nice teacher. The material is hard. I'm not a nursing major needed to take the class as a general but alot of people who are nursing majors dropped or failed. There's lab exams like powerpoint picture slides, having to identify through a microscope what type of cell you were looking at,and oral quizzes.
If you're military this is the teacher to take. Direct, no trick questions, no anecdotes. lots of memorization. tests are mostly fill in the blank or oral, some microscope and Picture identification. some people complained about his accent but he's no worse than that major from the Philippines or your Mexacan 1SG. Lots of extra credit available.
U must sleep with the book, eat with the book , tricky ALL that apply questions. No straight forward question. Tests are from the book ! If u study just PP u 'll get a D. He is cool , but his quizzes are suicidal HE asks the small staff from the book and he purposely makes the question confusing.
Basically, every time you have to go to this class during the semester, you will experience a mini heart-attack and a nervousness in your stomach that you just can't kick. No matter how much you've studied, it is never enough. Get ready to work.
if you have to take anat or physio I'm sure you have heard of dr. gayle. He is the best. Obviously neither subject is easy but dr gayle is really helpful and makes the material understandable. Take dr. gayle.
Study, Study, Study. Popwerpoints for lecture and book for diagrams. Make sure you study forand do good on quizzes to have a little bit of cushion for your grade. Focus, because he is handsome.
Powepoints is everything...He answers any question you ask him. Lectures are not boring and you get alot of hands on experience.. Luv him for and instructor. Can't wait to take his Physiology glass next semester.
Physio is a very hard subject no matter who you take. Glad I took dr. Gayle. He was very helpfull, always made himself available to his students, and his power points where awesome!!! This was the hardest class I have ever taken!! Be prepared to put in ALOT of work and ALOT of study time!!! Highly recommened Dr. Gayle!!
500 plus technical words to remember in 2 weeks, must remember correct spelling for each word for each of the 7 tests. He gives you 20 seconds on a timer to answer each question, reminds me of boot camp. Gives you 1 day to memorize about 100 or more words for a 60 question Quiz. No wonder why everyone takes this class more than once.
He's definitely one the best professor you should take. The class itself is not easy and you have to put a lot of hard work & time! If you can't handle him and the material, you're definitely not going to succeed in your future nursing classes. So be ready to work!! Just saying. Not an easy A class.. that goes to both Anatomy and Physiology
Dr.gayle is an extremely eloquent and proficient instructor! He really wants each of his students to pass and takes the time to answer any pending questions. Anat is difficult in general so you really have to commit to studying and working hard! Is you want an A or B join the SI class if it's an option for your class, it is very helpful!
100% the best teacher at LBCC. He is very efficient and approachable person. This class is hard but he makes it interesting and enjoyable. Textbook is not mandatory , everything from his PP. Most important, he understand what his students feel so extra credit and curving always come along when needed. Overall, he is 100% recommended.
Best teacher for Physiology at LBCC.
Dr. Gayle is overwhelming on the first day of class. He talks fast and expects you to pay attention in class. He has high expectations of his students who don't drop after the first 2 weeks. The book is not mandatory but helped me understand the material more clearly. He is fair in every way and is willing to help you if you ask. Tip: Sit in front.
the best professor in LBCC
Dr. Gayle is a fantastic professor. Thankfully he holds high standards for his students... if you want to go into medicine, you better have high standards for your studies.
Dr. Gayle is the best professor that I have had at LBCC. Tough but very much to the point and extremely thorough. Kevin is also a great addition to the class with his supplemental instruction classes for Dr. Gayle's anatomy classes. I highly suggest Dr. Gayle's outlines and powerpoints because they are the basis to the exams.
Drill. Drill. Drill. Study when you get home. Study again before the class. Stay on top of the material. Powerpoints. Don't use the book.
Dr. Gayle, is a good instructor. You must STUDY STUDY STUDY SLEEP AND DREAM ANATOMY WHEN HE SAY'S THAT HE MEANS IT. Just Study the Power Points, and the Connect Assignments, and do the Out Lines for each chapter. FINAL TIME At the end you will be glad you kept up and stayed on track. Key word STUDYYYYYY EXCELLENT INSTRUCTOR
Best advice is to take this class and maybe one more subject and that is it..this class also has lab. You need to spend about 3 hours a day even weekends to at least maintain a C. Very strict on spelling. Excellent teacher and funny...STUDY!!!
Amazing teacher, explains everything thoroughly. Got a high A and that was done by Number 1-attending class + paying attention; Number 2-using only powerpoints, didnt open book once; Number 3- Actually doing and understanding the lab helps SO much with lecture and exams. Number 4-Actually understanding the material rather than memorizing.
Dr. Gayle is awesome, really knowledgeable and really helpful when and if you need it. Advice? PAY ATTENTION, DO YOUR WORK, AND STUDY! If not, you will fail, guaranteed. This class is easy if you just do what you're supposed to do and you actually pay attention and study. It's alot of info to take in, but it can be done.
Excellent instructor! Not an easy class but he keeps the class interested and is very knowledgeable. Study hard and it should be a good semester.
Honestly, this class requires a lot of studying. Dr Gayle is extremely helpful. You will need the access code as he has all study guides and other handouts there. You will also need the lab book, but not so much the text. ALL EXAM QUESTIONS COME DIRECTLY FROM HIS POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS, AWESOME TEACHER!!!!
I took him during the summer and 6 weeks to learn everything is difficult but very possible if this class is your ONLY priority. If you are Pre-Med/Pre-Nursing TAKE HIM!!! You will not regret it. You learn SO much and he is a wonderful professor and really challenges his students to do better.
I took Professor Gayle for the Anatomy summer course. It was very challenging but very do-able. I studied more hours than were spent in class and it paid off. He gives students incentives to do well like being able to skip the cumulative final and encourages an A. He also curves to ensure that everyone does better. Follow his Powerpoints!!!
In the begginng before i took this class i thought it was going to be easy and that I would pass it but this instructor his way of testing I did not like! it was too hard. i had to Withdrawl from the course because i wasnt going to pass his class. Half of the class was Failing!!
Dr. Gayle is a great teacher, very happy to have taken this course with him. It's a tough class; you need to apply yourself if you want to pass! he's passionate about the subject and wants you to succeed. Always motivating & very nice on the eyes. On the other hand Kevin wasn’t helpful at all didn't like to be asked questions, don’t bother with SI!
AMAZING TEACHER! Tons of extra credit. Put in the work and you'll see results. Dr. Gayle truly makes this class worth going to.
I took Dr. Gayle for Anat 1 & Physio 1. He is an AMAZING professor. Yes, both classes are challenging, but they are suppose to be. If you don't understand something ASK him during office hours, he is VERY helpful and patient!! He will explain any topic over and over until you understand it.
His exams will make you want to cry. My only advice: STUDY STUDY STUDY and be prepared for a lot of critical thinking. His class is very challenging but he works with you if you ask for help. Dr. Gayle is by far the best professor I've ever had. He's always in a good mood and you can tell he loves what he does. Don't take him if you want an easy A.
He is really good at teaching definitely taking him for physiology. He is very detailed but explains everything very well. No Homework but have to study everyday. The exams are long and tiring but he curves them and he also curves the grade at the end of the semester I had a 84 and he curved it up to an A.
Dr. Gayle seriously wants his students to succeed. His tests are hard because most of his students are pre-nursing majors. Why would he make it easy if someones life depended on it in the future? I took anatomy 1 and this class in 1 semester, and I honestly never felt so tired but I pulled an A in both classes. He's seriously a great professor.
He seemed very smart and clear to those that knew what he was talking about. So if you NEED the class take it with him. I withdrew from it because I was barely passing, and I had no interest in putting effort in the class because it was not required for my major. The little effort I was putting into the class wasn't going to bring me any good.
Hard class but he curves the grade so that helps, but you still have to put in work to receive a C or higher.
He's very helpful. Curves the tests. We didn't use the book just the access code for connect assignments. Study the PowerPoint's STUDY STUDY!!!
Dr. Gayle is one of the greatest assets at LBCC. His teaching is exceptional, he goes over the material in class if it's unclear, Gives different explanations. tough class but he's in his office during office hrs ready and willing to go over any material you ask. his intelligence is truly inspiring! (His good looksjust another perk)
As a veteran, I started his class pretty bad but I stuck with it and really tried, Dr Gayle was very understanding to my personal issues, really cared for the well being of his students! It is a very hard class but if you just stick with it and try your best you could pass, I am not only grateful for his teaching but his overall support he showed!
Dr. Gayle is an excellent professor! I took his winter course on Anatomy and it was by far the most difficult class I have ever taken. He definitely makes resources available but it is up to you whether or not you take advantage of them. Class was in the morning and so office hours started at 5:30 am. I highly recommend this professor!
Dr. Gayle is an awesome Professor. He teaches with a Passion. Not many Professors you will find with his enthusiasm. His test and exams are tough, my suggestion is show up to class, read the chapters and form study groups. I had to withdrawal myself because it was very hardcore for me, but if you love a challenge, Dr. gayle is the best way to go
This teacher is a nice person but he's unorganized, has a heavy accent, stutters, talks fast and has horrible handwriting. He jumps all over the place in the book & the students have 2 correct him. When you ask him for clarification about what's going to be on his test he'll tell you that somethings not going to be on there & then it on the test .
If you're confused about something ASK him. A lot of people in my class dropped him because of how his exams were worded. He often studders when he lectures and it's hard to keep up. Study the slides but don't just memorize, ANALYZE! His exams made me think very hard for almost every question. I struggled in the beginning but I worked my way up.
Dr. Gayle doesn't give you ample time to study for his exams. We had an exam every two weeks with A LOT of material to review. If you're that type of student that can study before the day of the exam and understand the info quickly take him but if not, DON'T.
Dr. Gayle knows his stuff in the human sciences, I believe he should not be teaching. His Anatomy 1 was probably the hardest classes I've ever taken. He hardly gives you enough time to study for exams; if you're behind, you're going to stay behind. Help? HA! He talks so fast that it's hard to follow. I suggest taking ANAT with another professor.
I took Anat 1 and Physio with Dr Gayle and it was one of the best academic decisions I have made thus far. He makes his classes intentionally challenging because majority of his students are Nursing majors. Tests are based on everything in the Powerpoints, so study EVERYTHING. Hard, but worth it. Adjust your study habits and life to get an A.
Dr. Gayle doesn't give you that much time to study for his exams or lecture quizzes. His lecture quizzes are a pain and if we didn't have any my grade would've been an A. This class is very fast pace so he tends to talk fast and you can barley understand him. I do not recommend.
After having Dr. Gayle for Anatomy I insisted on having him for Physiology as well. I started out both classes with a D after the first test and pulled my grade up to an A at the end. I am not going to lie I put in the work. why wouldn't I, I expect to be a RN some day. I will say that he was ALWAYS available to answer my questions. PATIENT & KIND.
Though it was tough, I mean really tough, and though I criedI would do it again. I'm not masochistic by any stretch of the imagination, I just feel better prepared than most students for future courses. It gave me tougher dermis (you'll figure it out). Study HARD-every day. Don't skip class. Be prepared!!
In all my years of schooling, I've never taken a more challenging class than Dr. Gayle's and I'm an A student. He's a wonderful teacher who's beyond helpful. Despite a stuttering problem, he exudes charisma and charm that you can't help but adore. His tests, however, are the devil's work. Study like your life depended on it. Beware Pop Quizzes.
His exams are difficult, cover A LOT of material, and REQUIRE you to understand the material. Quizzes are usually based on what was covered in the previous lecture. Beware of pop quizzes. Connect assignments and reading are usually the only HW he assigns. Dr. Gayle is EXTREMELY helpful but YOU need to let him know you that you are struggling.
Took the class before with another professor and completely bombed it, not in a good way. Went into his class expecting a repeat of my previous attempt. I was proven wrong! This teacher definitely cares about his students passing, going so far as to let you record him individually explaining structures! Gives you every chance and then some.
Dr. Gayle is one of the most interesting professors that I've taken so far. If your taking his anatomy class, it's easy enough to pass with an A because he gives several extra credit opportunities. In his physio class though, He believes that, because it's a higher level class we should be less dependent on extra credit. But very funny and caring.
This class was tough! You have to study and study hard! He is fair and grades on a curve when needed. There were plenty of extra credit opportunities given. He will also explain over and over again IF you ask him, he will help but you need to ask for it.
Many have said he's a good teacher, I honestly don't see how. His class is hard and boring. But I think that having it at 6 am had a lot to do with it, considering I am not a morning person. Either way early or not I wouldn't take it again. We pretty much had to teach ourselves. We had a quiz the first day of class which I thought was ridiculous.
Any science is tough but I would say just study the powerpoints over and over , quizzes are based on previously lecture, not bad you can get an A if you put in the work; gives extra credit which helps your grade , do connect assignments , it's doable just study! Make study groups, beware of choose all that apply on test
Fabulous instructor! Very clear. Fun. If you study, you will pass!
Tips for an A in ANAT1: He is a good instructor/professor! Form a study group. TAKE KEVIN'S S.I. GROUPS AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!!! Do the HW and LearnSmart first, then memorize his Powerpoints. TAKE KEVIN'S S.I. GROUPS AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!!! Study something every day. There is too much to know to skip studying. He is extremely helpful if you ask.
Took him in the summer for ANAT1, HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING, failed EVERY test. Was able to still enroll in PHYSIO1, BARELY UNDERStOOD anything, cried, got a C. 3RD TIME TAKING HIM in winter for anat AGAIN, got a B. Avg my tests w/ Cs, Bs, & a good handful of A's that i'm proud of. NOT EASY, HE BUILDS U UP! He WILL test your strength! worth it.
Even if you have an A in the class, he does not let you get comfortable with it! He is constantly pushing you & making sure that you're continuously working hard regardless of your grade. Not sure if he curves at the end, but I do recall a time where there were only 3 A's in the class & he was not happy about it, so a few more ended up getting an A
I took Dr. Gayle over the winter session, and it was tough, but definitely manageable. You definitely need to study A LOT! Had many quizzes, which can help your grade if you studied. The effort you put in will be reflected in your grade. He is very helpful & will do his best to help you understand. It is a challenge, but he wants you to do well!
I tool Dr. Gayle for Anatomy and Physio! Both were hard and very intense courses with him. He works with his students so they can succeed. Lots of quizzes and quite a few exams. They are lectured based. Print his lectures before hand and add extra notes!
IF YOUR PASS HIS PHYSIO CLASS, YOU WILL B READY FOR THE NURSING PROGRAM. WELL. MICRO TOO. LOTS OF MATERIAL, LECT, TESTS. NO LAST MINUTE STUDY. YOU WILL FAIL. YOU DONT WANT TO FAIL. STUDY 5 DAYS AHEAD AND POINT OUT WHAT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. GO TO S.I , FORM PRODUCTIVE STUDY GROUPS. STUDY, STUDY AND STUDY. J.J RN, BSN. GOOD LUCK.
Incredibly tough class. Dr. Gayle is very knowledgable in this science. He loves to teach, and you can tell with every lecture. Make sure you review for lecture quizzes. He will have one almost every time. Study groups are helpful. SI sessions a must. Bones and muscles are the hardest of them all, so study hard!
He was a professor he knows his stuff but I took his Friday class at 6AM and he was so disorganized. He would rarely reply to my emails when I had questions, WAY TOO MUCH content for one test and no I never tried to cram it in all in one night. His tests and labs are hard, he barely gives you time to study. We had a test AND a final on same day
Dr. Gayle takes some getting use to. He's very fast paced during his lectures. Lots of drawings (draw everything!!). His exams are tough but just study all of his power points, drawings, and study guide. Do all the connect hw on time as well as the workshops. Always willing to help! Overall, an amazing teacher! Definitely recommend him!
Omg!! I have no idea how this proffessorhas so many good reviews.... Every dang class there is 30+ question quiz plus soooo many test that are over 100 questions. And he lectures way too fast im sorry but his stuttering does not help. Ive been studyng my behind off and still am not doing well. This class is not even manageable. Take some1 else plea
No sure why he has great reviews. Walks out of class constantly, wasn't present during an EXAM which I know he could get in trouble for. I understand he has a stutter but it's honestly distracting and it doesn't help how fast he lectures. He's very detailed with everything. I don't recommend taking his class.
Worse experience ever! he was always in a rush to lecture and the stuttering did not help his fast paced lectures. He gives breaks constantly and walks out . During lab he would walk out and we had so many questions about what we were doing. Honestly in his labs i did not learn anything. He would walk out during exams. It felt as if he didn't care!
The key to passing this class is to do the study guides based on his power points. he goes very fast during lecture so i recommend recording it and drawing everything he draws because drawings show up on exams. The first 2 exams are the hardest but you can still get an A if you put the work in. do all of the homework and take advantage of E.C.
Dr. Gayle is one of the best teachers I have had. I took him for his 6 am class. Regardless of the time, he was energetic and captivating. Although his exams were hard, he provided us with everything we needed to do well. He would answer all of our questions, until we were on the same page. He was patient with us. He cares about his students.
So I took his 2A over summer semester so obviously, it was a lot tougher. He does curve which helps a whole lot but in summer his lectures were very fast. He was there to help with any problems but it was a tough semester do not recommend taking ANY anatomy over a short session with any teacher..
Dr. Gayle is great!!! Just Study!!! He gives grades exams on a curve. online homework boost your grade up alot. Quizzes help alot too . The test are the major part of your grade. Best science teacher you can get.
Dr. Gayle is one of the best teachers I've had. Very intelligent & well respected. Fast-paced & takes time to get used to. Helpful & cares about you. Difficult but not impossible to pass. Record & take pics of everything he draws. Study the powerpoint. Do ALL of the online HW. Take advantage of extra credits. Last min studyfailure. Study everyday.
I took DG for anatomy1 and earned an A. however, his lectures are fast paced and lacking. Read the book! Speak up if you have any questions, as he will do his best to make sure you're on the same page. Exams are tough. His SI is really nice and most of the time she can clarify things a lot better than DG. Study up!
He was an awesome professor I worked full time and have a toddler and managed to pass his class in the SUMMER he made me think and I appreciate and respect this professor he is very knowledgeable and always asking students do they get it it's not on him if you do not ask questions because he will answer any question you may have. Great professor
If you have the chance to take Dr. Gayle for anatomy & physio, DO IT!!! I started the semester with a 66% and i'm most likely going to finish it with a 86%. TIP: Do well on your lab quizes, i suggest doing it in a group. My overall lab quizes were 67% which killed my chances of a gauranteed A. I feel ready for the nursing program after this class.
Words cannot describe what a wonderful professor DG is. I took his class 6 years ago and am writing this review of him now as I feel his physiology class helped me become the nurse I am today. DG went above and beyond the call of duty to help me succeed in his class. I graduated from nursing school in 2014 and owe it all to DG. Thank you DG!!
I took him for spring semester. We had 2-3 homeworks, 1 lecture quiz, 2 lab quizzes, and a 2-3 chapters per exam every 2 weeks. it's not impossible to get an A though. 1. Do not miss his lectures esp. his drawings. 2. Finish the lab even if you don't need to hand it in . Lab exams are hard. 3. Do the Study guides
Amazing professor! Pay attention to his lectures & copy his drawings. Try not to miss class. He does offer extra credit. Lab quizzes are tough, exams can be if you don't study the material. Use study guides & study your butt off if you want to pass. Can be tough if you slack on even one chapter but definitely doable to get an A.
Best professor that ever had! He talks fast and is fast peaced on his lectures. Study everything in the slides if you want to pass. He leaves the classroom oftenly if that bothers you dont take him. If you approach him he is very nice and understanding.
I took him over the summer and I have got to admit it was a little difficult, but that was only because you need to study every night. To get an A in the class you just need to complete his study guides and ask him about any of the questions that you are not clear on, because the tests are based on the study guides. He curves the tests heavily.
i took Dr. Gayle for Anatomy. of course overall anatomy is a tough class but Dr. G did the best he could. His lectures are packed of information and he moves and speaks fast so keep up. You'll most definitely pass the class if you study every night. he does give you a lot of material to go over and his test are lengthy. Fair if you studied..
I have no idea how he has good reviews. Everyone I've talked to in my class has had so many problems with him. MULTIPLE times he's emailed us less than 12 hours before an exam to change what it's on and when confronted basically told us "too bad." I have literally had to teach myself all of the content because he talks too fast for anyone to follow
I took Gayle for this fall semester and let me tell you, HE'S THE BEST! Do his study guides that he provides, his tests are based on them! There is truly no excuse to not succeed if you go to class, do the SG's, & copy his drawings in lecture. I was the top student in the class and was exempt from the 200 q final. If I can do it, so can you!
Took him for both A and P and got an A each time. His teaching style is not for everyone, hence the polarizing reviews. Both classes have a TON of content, so you move fast. You NEED to study on your own time, daily. Show up to class and make use of SI. He curves tests and offers A LOT of extra credit, so if you put the work in you should do fine.
Gayle is a excelent professor, I took him for both phys & anat and he is a very clear teacher if anything ask him, not thru email since he doesnt reply. 100 questions tests and if you dont like to study or cant right after every class dont take him because there are many quizzes and tests, though he is always curving grades and gives extra credit
This professor is knowledgeable but, he lacks patients and skill communications. He doesn't believe on extra credit except from donating blood, flu shot. He talks too fast. Also, prepare yourself for100 Q quizzes/ 200+ Q for exams and drawing and labeling certain things "his way".He won't offer any help for students who are struggling.
This class is too heavy on tests. Being a full time student and working part time makes it impossible for me to have time to study. sometimes he would have a quiz(over 100 questions) and a exam(about 200 questions) in the same week. it caused too much stress. He will sometimes give you the study guides a day or two prior to a test.
His lectures are full of information that will help with the study guides, which will help with exams! Copy everything he draws, he uses the drawings as extra credit on exams! He tells you what will be on each exam and how many question per section. He basically gives you the tools to pass, you just have to put in the work! Lots of HW, but easy!
Amazing professor! More than willing to help but YOU MUST ASK. He talks fast & lectures are very detailed; copy his drawings during lectures. Quizzes and exams are tough but all the questions come from his power points. Book was "required" but I never really used it; you do need the online access code for HW. Extra credit is offered. Recommend!
Professor Gayle is actually a pretty good teacher. He's tough because he speaks pretty fast during his lectures but all of his powerpoints slides and study guides are online on Canvas. If you study off of the study guide, YOU WILL PASS. Labs tests are majority written. And all his grading is in a curve.
Arrives to class late, ends class early, and speed through lectures like his life depends on it. Be prepared for a lot of learning on your own. His powerpoint quizzes are timed by slide and he'll refuse to go back to previous slides if you miss something or want to double check your answers.
great professor, but really tough as he talks really fast and explains fast. though he is available in office hours if have questions, doest give much extra credit but curves grades a lot. Beware that test are usually more than 100 questions so need to study everything in powerpoints/study guides. not a teacher for people with not enough time
I loved this professor. He gives you study guides, make sure you do them everything on the test is one them. Show up to class, take study guides with you and fill out as he lectures, he goes over everything in lecture. You have to study or you wont pass! Plus extra credit is good and helps a lot!!
Dr. Gayle is an incredible professor. I already graduated from a top university in the United States, but needed to take pre-reqs to get back into a program (after taking many years off). He moves fast, and he expects you to know the ins and outs. I'd say his teaching style compares with top university professors. It is hard but worth it.
I TOOK THIS PROFESSOR IN SUMMER 2020. HE IS A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR AND GIVES LOTS OF SOURCES FOR HELP. HE IS DO-ABLE IN SUMMER & CARES FOR HIS STUDENTS. DEFF WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN. GIVES EXTRA CREDIT .
I took this course when classes transitioned mid-way online. In person, he was a great professor. Once we went online it was extremely difficult. I emailed him multiple times with questions, and he never answered these. Other students in my class experienced this. Class is VERY challenging, you HAVE to know your stuff. Grades mainly on test/quiz
A 16 week semester would be the way to go, took this in 5 weeks and it was INTENSE. He uses proctorio for exams and quiz , gives a lot of extra credit, and has a lot of different ways you can learn the material. (Lecture slides, study guides, YouTube videos, recorded lectures)
His tests are over the top. First one was 100 questions + short answer and the second was almost 200. His lack of effort in student success is obvious, breezes over the short answer submissions to the point where I got an F initially and then after reaching out he decides to actually read it and gives me an A. Overly difficult class for no reason.
Very knowledgeable and great professor! He is very clear for what will be on exams, making it easier to study. Make sure to do all assignments and the study guides. If you do those and study, easy to succeed in his class.
Took online during COVID so not sure how he is in person. You have to be really disciplined to pass his class. There is not a lot of resources he gives you, he's not easy to reach out to, some online assignments, lecture, and exam. This class will make you disciplined because you use proctorio to do exams so I guess that is a kind of good thing.
i took this class spring 2020 online and i really enjoyed it ! he gave weekly lectures on top of already having youtube videos on lectures and old lectures from past semesters. all test are based off the study guides he gives. overall an easy class if you try.
The subject and the load of information is what makes this class difficult. The professor is amazing, patient, and willing to assist the student in making sure they understand what is being taught. He provides a lot of extra credit.
Can attend Zoom lecture synchronously to ask real-time questions, but not required-he uploads recordings + gives access to past semester lectures. Study guides are very helpful and are 80% of what you need to pass the quizzes/exams. Does require study time. Helpful prof! Preferred communication is via text- responds quickly. Would recommend.
Professor Gayle is really great! He takes his time to explain things & if you still don't understand he has youtube videos giving more detail. You can always text him & he responds, if you study the study guide you will get A's on exams. Exams are broken up by chapter which makes it easy to study one chapter at a time. Proctorio for quizzes & tests
Hes such a great professor! 10/10. Very organized. Exams can be overwhelming but his exams were split into chapters which makes it easier to study and less stressful. His recorded lectures and study guides are extremely helpful. I genuinely learned a lot from this class.
I wish I had more tags to choose from. He is a very thorough professor. Very lecture heavy. However, almost all that is needed to succeed is within the lectures. He works with you and offers extra credit. A lot of exams and virtual labs that helped boost grades up. He has a lot of resources on the class portal and Youtube page.
hybrid class; tests are 3 parts with 50+ questions each, study and keep in touch with lab partners, you wont get through the class without them in & outside of labs, you will have online assignments, lab submission, study guides and to complete 4 online workshops. study lab exams as soon as posted & be present so you can answer and experience them
Professor Gayle is by far the one of BEST Anatomy professor at LBCC. He provides study guides for the exams. He is very organized and gives you a lot of materials to review and to help you have a better understanding of the course with YT video from his previous class. He is very approachable when you need to ask him questions. Also, provides EC.
Professor Gayle is awesome! He doesn't try to trick you or make the class more complicated than it already is. Just put the time in to study and do your best. He curves the exams and gives EC! What is there not to like about him? Just be prepared for exams and quizzes almost every week, but it's beneficial as this helps you stay on track.
Professor Gayle is one of my favorite professors here at LBCC. His tests are very transparent to what's on the study guide! He offered plenty of extra credit assignments and he made sure to explain anything that I or my classmates had questions on. If you're thinking of taking an anatomy professor, I HIGHLY recommend DG!
I wish I could have him teach all of my sciences, he's the BEST. So much info and resources given to us on his lectures and powerpoints to help with quizzes and exams. He gives answers to all the study guides to make it easier to complete and study. All the tests questions are literally the study guide Q's and lecture power point bullets.
Dr. Gayle is a great teacher. Very knowledgable, and teaches very well so you can understand difficult lectures much better. Makes himself easy to reach by encouraging his students to text him with questions if ever needed. His class is fun, some might say the work/quiz load is a lot but everything is in his lectures and study guides.
Professor Gayle's class is fast paced. However, his study guides are extremely helpful and so is he. If you have any questions he is happy to help. It is very quiz/exam heavy, but once you get the hang of the studying rhythm, you can get a good grade. TAKE THIS CLASS, you won't regret it.
TAKE HIM.I took this class in ONE month over the summer. He is super helpful and always responds fast. 3-4 exams, 3-5 quizzes, 4 lab worksheet, and 1 lab exam due per week, working with lab partners is a MUST. Everything else is online except lab exam. Uses proctorio. Study guides are the lecture quizzes. So many extra credit opportunities.
Keep in mind that Anatomy in general is a challenging/hard course. Prof Gayle is a very fast paced professor but he will answer any questions you have and will help when needed, gives many bonus and extra credit points and cares for his students. Available through text and will answer you very quickly. He lets you retake exams if needed. 10/10
TAKE HIM. You won't regret it. He provides SG's for exams, extra credit, and is very understanding. This course is test heavy (all online, proctored --- with the exception of lab exams in person), but working with lab partners makes this course very doable and smooth! He's always available via text & provides helpful resources for studying.
Anatomy itself is a hard class and Professor Gayle makes it easier as much as he can. Lectures are very helpful esp lab b/c you can visualize what he talks abt in lec. A whole day of studying b4 the day of the exam will help w/ refreshing your mind about the lesson. Exams are heavy but if you study well, you'll ace it! He gives extra credit, do it!
I took Physio in the Winter so that made it challenging because everything compressed in 5 weeks but I learned a lot from Professor Gayle. He was very understanding and accessible outside of class too which I really appreciate. If you need to take Physio, I would recommend taking him. As long as you do the work, you will get an A.
Took him for winter session. Recorded lectures/lecture exams are online and also does live zoom. His yt videos are so helpful for the exam and he gives study guides for points. Lab is super easy honestly just show up and you should easily pass the lab exam. Memorize study guides and you're good. He offers lots of extra credit too.
I took professor Gayle during fall 2023 and to be honest is not about the professor is about how hard you want to work for your A. He gives you study guides for his exams and he is always there if you have questions. Anatomy is a heavy course so please put your hard work in studying every day because the material is heavy. Everything is manageable.
TAKE HIM.... he is a very helpful professor that is always there available if you have any questions. His winter class was the best I don't regret taking him even though it was fast paste it was manageable. This course is heavy a-lot to cover but he makes it easier for you to understand the material. online exams labs exams are done in class.
Everything he says in his lectures is useful to hear, so it's worth showing up to each one. His exam objectives are stated clearly in his announcements. So there's no curveballs, no surprises, which is super fair. He gives extra credit and answers any questions students may have. He aims for his students' success in the class.
Very heavy material. Quiz then test every other week. It starts off really tough, but he gives a bunch of extra credit and things ease up midway through. Everyone's grades jump big time around then. He's a cool guy and very attentive. Despite the difficulty I'd recommend him to anyone. 10/10
quizes are given via powerpoint. you take quizes as a class and theres no going back once he moves on from a question.
Hybrid class, hard to understand and labs weren't very helpful. Tried to talk during office hrs and wasn't very helpful either. Dropped and taking class w another professor again. Three quizzes every 2 week plus a lab exam. TEST HEAVY!! Take him with caution, I'm sure there are better professors.
Dropped the class due to changin majors but be prepared for tests we took at least 2 times a week sometimes 2-3 tests a day its a lot of studying and few labs sometimes very short lectures textbook cost over 100$ to.
Great professor, would honestly take him again. The class is heavy so be prepared to study a lot and I recommend not skipping lectures. Provides study guides and extra credit.
Ok where do I start. Any science classes in general are supposed to be HARD. So for people who dropped out and complained that the professor was the problem , HE IS NOT. He is organized! All resources are available. Vids, SGs, PPTs, etc. You get the grade that you put in LITERALLY. Want a C - study? Want an A - study. Take him & you, srsly.
Took his full semester anatomy class and his summer physiology 5 week class. His class is very information dense but he is awesome and is always willing to help. It's hard but definitely passable without very much stress. He gives more extra credit than any professor which is great too. He is an awesome guy and would recommend his class to anyone
5/5. I took him for Anat and Physio. His lectures are very heavy and so are his exams. His exams are based on his lectures and study guide. He is loved by his students because he is very kind and very approachable. My final grade for both classes is over 100% because he gives out extra credits generously. I took my TEAS and score 97% because of him
Anatomy is challenging, but this professor makes it manageable. Attend lectures, use the provided resources, and study consistently - you'll do well. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for me when preparing for exams.
This is my 4th time taking anatomy after many attempts & professors. Gayle is by far the best, most helpful. Anatomy requires lots of attention and study time, follow his lectures and study guides verbatim you will pass. Do not fall behind and try your best every exam. Max out points on McGraw and don't skip labs! I FINALLY GOT MY A!!!!
This was my first semester as a college student. I was super nervous taking anatomy, but the professor provides study guides and extra credit. He truly cares about teaching. This is a hard class, but not impossible. I made quizlets to study. Exams are based off the study guides. Taking Dr. Gayle again for physiology!
Professor Gayle was a very good professor he cares about his students he takes time after class to do lectures on zoom. Gives a good amount of extra credit, he is also very understanding. I definitely recommend this professor.
LOVE HIM DOWNNNNN! Great professor, has a little accent and little stutters but you can understand him. Took him during winter so there was lots of labs make sure to do the study guides because they resemble the test. Attendance was mandatory during the winter and I managed to get an A so it's not bad. Good Luck.
Dr. Gayle is amazing! Love this guy. He seems a little shy but he is really chill. If you do his study guides and keep up with lectures you will do fine in the class. I took him for Anat during the Fall and Physio during the Spring because of his teaching. If you can take him he is a great professor and really does care about his students success.
Dr. G!! I took this class in the summer. I'm a germ freak, so lab wasn't my favorite—but it was fun and interesting. Showing up counts! He gives A LOT of extra credit to help you out. I really enjoyed his class overall. He knows his stuff and is passionate about it. Highly recommend—10/10! – WORK IN A GROUP !!!!!!! Tee
Professor Gayle is the best when it comes to Anatomy!!! He is very detailed with his lectures and it always eager to answer anyones questions. Make sure to go to lectures and try not to skip!! He has an accent and a stutter but it will not interfere with your learning. There is LOTS of extra credit throughout the semester.
TAKE HIM. I have taken this class 3 times only because im so new to college and the first in my family to attend, trust me he IS THE ONE to take for this course at LBCC, He truly cares for his students success. SO MUCH extra credit. Will help you, but don't think hell carry you to YOUR success, you need to meet him Half WAY! I love prof Gayle.
Nice man for a hard class. Lectures on zoom and labs with your partners in class. Extra credit given and is helpful. Labs felt kind of self-taught because he expects you to know what to do since he sends the lesson plan but asking questions doesn't hurt. Come prepared! No pop quizzes or papers. Exams and quizzes are split in three per lesson.
I didn't expect to do as well as I did, but I found the class fair and supportive. Staying engaged, attending regularly, and keeping up with the material made a big difference. The professor explains concepts clearly, is approachable during class, and offers extra credit opportunities. I recommend him he is very awesome professor!!
