He is a great teacher very helpful very clear and if you dont understand he WILL i repeat HE WILL go over it until you do dont be shy to ask questions he loves participation and hw is online. he gives study guides for tests and goes over them

I am horrible at math and I made all A's on my exams. I even made a 105 on one of them. He hives at least 11 extra credit points each exam which is very helpful. He is really nice and his teaching it great! HIGHLY would recommend him!

I've NEVER been an A+ Algebra student, but somehow Debter made EVERYTHING crystal clear. If you have to take 1130, no questions about it, you HAVE to take Debter! He is extremely helpful. He gave bonus quizzes & added the points to test grades. Best of all, you do not use COURSE COMPASS in his class. All homework comes from the book. Great teacher!

Great professor. Very easy to talk to and get help form. The best part of the whole class is, he does not use course compass. On your test, he gives credit on the correct process as well as the correct answer. So if you get just part correct then you will get some credit. Make sure you do your homework. at most there are 2 assignments due each week

Debter is absolutely the professor that you should take for calculus. I dropped calculus twice before him and his way of teaching is the only reason that I even passed. Go to class though! Ask questions! If you need help, he's very easy to talk to.

His teaching style is easy to understand and he teaches at an understandable rate (some utc math professors talk so fast you can't keep up) He is extremely nice. I was sckeptical about this guy at first, but he doesnt rig the work against you, he will go back and explain things, and breaks down each problem. I hadnt taken a math class in almost 20 years, and made an A. HIghly recommend.

Debter is a funny, helpful and efficient algebra teacher. Unfortunately the class I was in (F2013) is standardized with ALL the other college algebra courses so nothing is up to him.Hopefully the math department streamlines these classes soon because it seems like they don't know what they are doing; unorganized, pointless policies, and unforgiving

Professor Debter is a fantastic teacher. Math is not my strong subject but he does such a great job of explaining the material that I did not struggle. He does demand respect but he is not harsh and very personable. I would highly recommend him for Algebra or any other class he teaches.

Prof. Debter was so easygoing and made me enjoy math. I have always been good at it but the reason I passed and many other didn't is because I simply went to class and took notes. He says attendance is not required but the students who used that as a reason to never go failed. As long as you go and listen the online homework is easy.

Professor Debter is good. He takes the time to answer question during lecture and will keep doing a problem (if needed) to help you understand. Sometimes lets class out early (always a bonus) but gets really mad when students leave or come in late. Drops one test, two quizzes, and three homework grades.

Debter is a pretty laid back guy. He doesn't like for people to be disruptive during his lectures AT ALL! He does have an attendance policy with our class, you can miss 3 days, but after 3 1 point is taken off per day. We don't go by the textbook, strictly prepared notes. The tests are easy because of the amount of repetitive homework he gives.

Class wasn't hard. Study some, do the online homework, show up to the classes and you'll pass.

Show up to class, answer the clicker questions and you should be good. I have an A in the class. Oh, and the book isn't necessary as long as you have a code for the online math.

Very good guy! Funny and super chill. I won't call the class "easy" because math is not easy, but he makes it easier to understand. Study your practice exam and you're test will be pretty much the exact same type of questions. I would defiantly recommend taking him.

Professor Debter is very cool. He was very good at teacher math. He knows what he is talking about. He makes the notes for you to print off. I really liked him. The class was in a big lecture hall though but he was good at controlling and maintaining the class. Also we didn't have to buy the book but you had to have an access code to do homework.

He's a very tough grader but he teaches the material well. Pay attention to detail in the tests and you should be fine. However, if you don't show every single step for every problem he takes an absurd amount of points off.

Plenty of time to work the homework . The book is useful to have for working on recommended homework if you need more practice. I would take him again

Mr. Debter was a great teacher. He is very specific with his expectations for the course up front. He takes students busy lives into consideration and doesn't overwhelm you with tons of work. He treats you with respect and expects it in return. Overall, he sticks to the syllabus and as long as you put forth the effort he will help anyway he can.

we had 10 mandatory homework assignments that were very easy if you went to class and paid attention. He is very willing to help you if you don't understand. I had never made an A in a math class until I took stats. Loved his class and would definitely take him again for another class!

Prof Debter is an incredible math teacher. He's always willing to go above and beyond to help you understand the material. There's quite a bit of homework, and the tests are a little challenging, but overall it's a pretty easy math course. Just do the homework and you should pass.

I hadnt had math in 7 years when walking into Prof. Debtor's class of 150, so nervous is an understatement but he was amazing. I caught up to everyone within a week bc of his style. His office is always open and responds to emails quick. He is head of the math plaza. i emailed him for help in another class & he replied within an hour with help!

Buy the access code for the online homework. No need for textbook. I implore anyone who takes his class to practice the practice test he gives, because it is literally the same test you will be given in class. Not saying to memorize the material, because that is impossible in statistics, but just practice the practice test and easy A or B!

Take him if you get the chance! He is a great teacher and genuinely cares. As long as you study a little bit its an easy A. He tells you everything that will be on the exams.

I have taken pre-calculus and Algebra and Trig in highschool, so this was my 3rd time taking this subject. He taught at a faster pace, so if you really struggle in math you may need a tutor. If you understand the basics this class can be easy A. The homework goes along with the class notes. Exams match the reviews, just study them.

Going into my freshman year of college I was nervous about taking a college calculus class, but Debter made this class a breeze! There is quite a bit of homework, but as long as you go to class and ask questions you'll be fine. The tests were pretty easy and he gave them back quicker than any of my other professors. A great class!

Real nice, good at lecturing, his class is easy to understand somewhat though taking notes from him is a nightmare, writes insanely fast, stands in front of his writing, and doesn't let people catch up. Grading is super tight, no HW or attendance to help cushion the fall, tests are also filled with trick questions.

Calculus is hard, but he makes it easy!! Just make sure you ACTUALLY study. Hes really lenient when grading exams too! 4 exams plus an optional final, 5 quizzes, and homework for each section (which really helps your grade)

Stay on top of homework as you learn the material and take notes in class! He gives lots of examples of each problem and will answer any questions you have. 4 exams and a final with a few quizzes and a homework for each section. He is also very helpful in office hours!

Ive struggled with math my whole life but I never had trouble with his stats class. 10/10 would take again if I have to have more math. His lectures are very simple, he is great at explaining. I took Professor Debters online statistics course this spring and it has been a good experience. Youll usually get 1-2 homework assignments a week, along with 5 quizzes and 4 exams over the semester. If you actually try on the homework, youll ace the tests and quizzes. Be ready to take good notes and have good time management.

He provides lecture materials and other helpful resources. A solid professor who wants you to succeed.

This Calculus class has some deep and complicated material, but I believe Professor Debter does a great job breaking things down into more comprehensible parts. The people in my class (including myself) may not have done as good as we wanted to, but he always made himself available and encouraged us to keep trying. He's an understanding teacher.

Tough grader when it comes to tests but if he sees you're trying he will give a few extra points at the end. He drops lowest homework, quiz, and test. Final is optional and can be used to improve grade it won't hurt. He is a solid choice and not a professor to run from.

His lectures were very clear and easy to understand, he'll explain topics further if you ask. His tests had a big weight but he will remind you in advance and usually has a review day before the test. The homework isn't very hard or overwhelming.

10/10 recommend for any math class. He ultimately just cares that you understand and do well, will tell you what will be on Tests and teaches in a super easy understand way.

One of the best math teachers I have ever had. He will answer your questions quickly. He can feel the mood of a class well and react accordingly and reword any things to make it understandable to people. Even though the course I took was difficult, he was able to make it at least a little interesting and understandable.

I hated math in high school but loved it in college because of this man! Took him for Pre-Cal and Cal 1 and hope to take him for Cal 2. If you have to take those courses, take his class! He gives study guides for exams, the final is optional because your lowest test grade is dropped, and he is clear on deadlines and test/quiz dates.

He consistently asks if anyone has questions during class. He also drops the lowest homework, quiz, and test grades, including the final, which has the same grade weight as a regular test.

I took calculus 2 from Prof. Debter and I don't think I would have passed calc 2 if he wasn't teaching it. He goes through just about everything that will be on the tests in class and makes sure we know the exact content. He is quite a forgiving grader and is very easy to follow in his lectures.

This man is an ANGEL!! Seriously! If I could take Prof. Debter for all my classes I would! He actually cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. He is very clear while teaching and when students ask questions, he always takes his time and never belittles or makes them feel bad. 10/10 recommend!

He is really awesome. Making an A is hard but not impossible. Work the homework problems as many times as you need to to get a 100 and to have a reliable understanding of the material. Make sure you look over the study guides before review day so you can have questions ready for him. He does not test you on grafting which is incredible. Love him!!

I'll tell you about the class, rather than the teacher like the other post (they are correct, great guy). 65% of your grade will be exams. Don't wait 2 days before the exam to study. If there are 10 sections on the test, I would leave 2 sections per day to study MAX. So study at least 5 days before the exam. STUDY the notes, not the homework.

He really takes his time and goes over the material throughly. He wants you to not only learn but understand what he's saying. If he feels most of the class doesn't grasp something well, he gives opportunities to earn a better grade. He answers questions and does not make you feel stupid for asking.

As good as it gets. Lecture content and study guides are explicitly clear. Hands out make-up opportunities for exams when appropriate. He's aware of the reputation this class gets and does a great job at making it accessible. But be sure to show up ready to learn!
