I loved how he made history come alive.

Great guy and sense of humor. Actually, watching him try to make a joke is funnier than the actual joke. One word: decorum...live it or avoid his class. Tests are moderately hard so you better study. He needs to stops playing that out-dated music!!!

He's pretty cool as long as you come on time and turn your cell phones off. I made a B and i slept everyday.

Like other kids say, Dr. Anderson's got a great sense of humor. Every week, he'd give a 20-some page reading, and have a quiz ready for us pertaining to the reading in class Monday morning. Not a hard teacher, and the class was definitely interesting.

Personal communication is not this guy's strong point, but he does have a great sense of humor and awesome knowledge of music. Tests are okay if you study. Does have a thing about cell phones. Dresses a little outdated, but he's still kind of hot.

This man is great at what he does and loves it! He knows everything that he speaks about and can go in to very good detail to help you understand. If u read what u were supposed to you can easily get an A. Oh, and remember Decorum!!!!!

I absolutely loved Dr. Anderson. He is such a great guy and really makes class fun with his witty personality. Yes..he does hate cell phones but so do all other professors. I really think he was an overall good teacher and would help you with anything.

202 was a bit boring, but making a survey class with 200 people interesting is kinda tough.the music during the lectures helped keep it real. 490 (prez elections)was great. small class, so we got to know dave. funny, and always right. he knows his stuff. if you talk to him you'll get lots out of it.

He will try to make you afraid of him, but don't worry about it.

Very fun to argue with and by just paying attention and being involved in conversation i got an A in the class. i was on the verge of a B and when i talked to him about it, he said that my attendence and attention in class was that of an A student. Very good in my opinion.

You have to study for his tests but if you go to his reviews, you will have no problems! If you have to have another history, he's cool to take. I made a high B and I flunked the first test really bad.

I really enjoyed David's class. He made history actually interesting for a change and I really like the way he adds music to this speeches. He said he would be teaching a music history class in '06, can't wait to take it!

This guy will call you on it if you make comments wtihout thinking them through completely.

This is a new class he is teaching we havea lot of reading but its good. Because you use the reading on weekly quizes that help your grade. The class is Technology in American society.

Easily one of the best History teachers I've ever had. Has a no nonsense attitude, and makes dry material seem interesting. Doesn't put up with talkers/distractions, mind P's and Q's. Tough but fair.

very smart professor--interesting class--helps to go talk to him during office hours--he is very reasonable and helpful if you've been to class and put forth effort--but he will crawl all over students who are being obnoxious during his class though (which isn't necessarily a bad thing)

He thinks he's God's gift to women, and thinks he knows everything. He does explain stuff clearly, so it is easy to make an A....however, he will set out to make anyone and everyone in the class look like an idiot. He plays Devil's Advocate a lot too.

Very helpful! If you attend the study sessions before the test he pretty much reads exactly whats on the test! Also in class he keeps you very interested in the material!

I love Hist, but hate the info. covered in 202 so I was dreading this course. Anderson made it very interesting and very easy! The weekly quizzes are an easy points buffer. He gives a lot of bonus in class and if you go to the test review sessions he says exactly what will be on the tests! I made a 108% on my final despite skipping most classes!!

Dr. Anderson is probably the best teacher I've ever had. He makes the material interesting and gives bonus points on occasion. I have recommended him to many of my friends and they seem to be satisfied with him. I was also recommended to take him, glad I did. He has many rules too but easy to abide by. He's an awesome teacher!

He was the most interesting history teacher that I have ever had. We got to listen to the different types of music from each period. He is funny, and his tests are pretty easy. I would recommend him to anyone.

This guy's kinda crazy with a bunch of nitpicky rules and he doesn't stay on topic very often but he knows his stuff and the class is ridiculously easy. I went to 4 classes out of 20 and made an easy A, if you don't pass this class you don't belong in college.

Love Dr. Anderson! He does get off the subject sometimes, but he creates a lot of interest in the class and subject and is very friendly and personable. He likes to have debates and discussions and I like that, if you don't you should prbably avoid the class. He engages the students and this is rare.

Big Dave is the freakin man!Great guy, entertaining class, kinda querky(but that's what makes him cool). Take his class, do what he says, and you'll make it out with an A and a smile on your face. One of my favorite Tech professors!

explains everything really well printing out lectures before class and making notes on them really really helps

Such a great teacher! I don't care what anyone else says this guy is awesome. He teaches you things you didn't learn in high school. He focuses more the on culture of the time. As long as you're not a jackass who asks stupid questions in class, you'll be fine. Although it is entertaining to watch him crack on those who do. I highly recommend him.

Here is the REAL scoop for those who want to take this professor: Stick With It! Hes hard on everyone in the class UNTIL the drop date. After half his class drops he is super easy and laidback. He claims he only wants to rid of the slackers. But if you Stick With It he hands you 200 points and will MAKE SURE YOU PASS regardless of past test grades!

I loved this teacher. I was never bored in his class, he always kept my attention. Pay attention to his rules...NO CELLPHONES!!!! I do not care for his tests, they are separated into 3 parts, and you have to get up and down to turn them in one at a time. Very distracting. However, I haven't found another teacher as entertaining as he is.

Dr. Anderson is awesome! He knows his stuff. Despite getting off topic (which makes the class even more interesting and calls for more discussion!), he's a great teacher! A bit of a nit pick when it comes to rules, but to each and his own.

He was a very good teacher. Even though a tad judgemental, but isn't everybody. If asked a question will answer. He also gives you all of the note, but will add some things in them. Study the notes and listen to him and you will do fine. Also he is very interesting and makes class fun>

I enjoyed his class. He is funny because he is very sarcastic. He will call anyone out in a second and i enjoyed it, although he did call me out twice before in a very large class. He gives the notes in the form of p.p. but you will need to take some also. I would recommend this class. Gave some good bonus opportunities.

One of the best professors I have had at Tech because he engages his students in debates and relavant conversation in upper levels. In addition, he always tries to apply the history to current events so class isn't boring. He is lenient on paper due dates which is very nice because he's not one of those jerks who thinks his class is the only class.

He is a great teacher with a high I.Q. and really knows his stuff. I refer him to anyone no matter what their major maybe because the class is full of knowledge and crazy memories. 2 THINGS TO REMEMBER THOUGH: (1) DO NOT SIT IN THE VERY BACK ROW and (2) LEAVE YOUR CELL PHONE IN THE DORM BECAUSE HE HAS EYES LIKE A EAGLE!

He is maybe the most abrasive professor I've ever taken, but he engages his students, and he knows what he's talking about. He is confrontational with students, but that is only because he is legitimately interested in his job. I would recommend him only to people that want to learn.

Notorious for being a jerk to his students and calling them out and embarrassing them in front of the class, but still a pretty easy teacher. I was scared of him at first, but he's all bark. Lots of easy extra credit opportunities and he uses power point lectures.

Okay. He is hard. And he can be a butthole. Just don't do anything to get called out on. He is really funny and he likes to argue. Don't stand down though. Just read the chapters before taking the online quizes and study. Attendence is not mandatory but extremely helpful!

He is a jerk and I can't STAND him. But I have to admit he's a great teacher. He REALLY knows his stuff and cares about getting his students to learn it. He's not too hard and it's very possible to get an A if you go to class and study. Highly Recommend!

He called me out the 1st day of class for doing something, he calls everyone out so dont worry. He is a great teacher and not that hard. He gets easier after the drop date...plus even if you dont like history you can just look at him he's so hot in his suits! I got an A both times i took him.

Easy class had over 100 avg. he gives extra credit all the time and post his powerpoints on blackboard, I never took notes, does have online quizs but they only cover 1 chapter and you have over a week to take them,he will call people out but it's funny, I got called out twice, no biggie, if you have a chance take this professor

He is flippin awesome! He gives bonus like crazy. There are quizzes online (you have to read a chapter in the book, then you have a 10 question quiz that you have to take in 10 min. <-- sounds bad but VERY easy) also 3 VERY EASY papers (you pick 2 of the 3 you want to do, bonus on the 1st one)Tests are also easy, he reviews well for them.

he's literally out of his mind. he gets side-tracked easily but he's a fun teacher. i learned a lot, but he's kind of a tough grader on writing. just show up and he'll love you but he's not afraid to call you out if you're texting, talking, sleeping, etc.

Dr. Anderson is AWESOME! He has a great sense of humor. He makes History interesting. The test are easy if you study the Powerpoints. There is also an identification part of the exams. If you study the review sheet that he posts, that part is easy too. Anyway, I would totally recommend Dr. Anderson. I can't wait to take another class of his!

Also if you are right in the arguement he'll admit it. Also leave cell phones and food at home, you won't get away with it.

This guy is a cool person. His view on life is always in front of his teaching of history. He loves to make students think so go ahead tell him what you really think and don't get mad it is not personal!

If you take a history class, take Anderson's. I hated history in high school, and now it's my major. He gives quite a bit of extra credit, and teaches with plenty of media. His class is all about debunking common myths in history, TAKE HIM, you won't regret it if you're a serious student.

This man is obviously a brilliant lecturer, I'll give him that, but he takes every opportunity to hurt your grade and to mock his students. Oddly enough, he seems to have a problem with quiet students doing petty things far more than he does with people being outright disruptive and ignorant. The class is difficult and the professor is doubly so.

he's a good teacher! i made an A but i did work for it (87% is an A). He gives about 2 online quizzes a week from the textbook which aren't really hard. you have to write two papers and he uses powerpoint which you can print off blackboard, and the test come directly from them. we watched youtube alot. NO cell phones or food or drinks or talking!

He knows his history and what he is talking about. The tests require studying, but his grading scale is 88 to 100 is an A. He gives tons of bonus opportunities. No cell phones, food, or drinks. He will call you out. He is sarcastic and can be rude and brutal, but if you do your work and pay attention, the class is not difficult.

He's a great professor. The study guides he gives are exactly what's on the tests and he gives A LOT of extra credit. As long as you show up to class, read the chapters for online quizzes, and do the study guide, it's pretty much impossible to not make an A in his class. I ended up with 503 out of 500 points for my average.

This guy is a bit of prick, but you will get over it. He teaches really well. Don't be surprised if he embarasses you if your cell goes off or something like that. Just read the book. You'll do fine.

Hands down my favorite teacher I have ever had. He keeps the class interesting and gives crazy amounts of bonus, so there is no excuse not to make an A. He loves to be call people out, so as long as you are not on the receiving end it's hilarious.

Anderson is amazing. I loved his class. Its fun always and adventure. He always keeps it fun and entertaining. The tests are fairly easy. The quizzes from the book are pretty much common sense. He gives out extra credit likes its nothing. He is hands down, my favorite teacher at this school.

Dr. Anderson has an extremely dry sense of humor, and one can easily tell he's very stuck up his own butt. He loves to call people out when they make mistakes, and he loves to diss on any answers that are given out loud in class. HOWEVER, he was a great "teacher" and BENT OVER BACKWARDS to make sure everyone did great in the class.

I was in the Honors history class this quarter and it was the first time he taught it, so, given we were guinea pigs, he wasn't all that bad. He did assign 8 novels and we did (painstakingly) read them. He's pretty tough and expects you to know what you're talking about or he'll eat you alive.

Dr. Anderson was amazing! I was so happy to have a teacher that taught perspectives and gave you the opportunity to argue his opinions. You do take the multiple choice part twice, however, he gives you the answers before the second attempt. He integrates videos and music from the time periods to show the cultures of the time. Really a great prof.

Dr. Anderson is an extremely good teacher. He is very engaging in class and spices things up with videos, music, and interesting discussions. However, if you are not serious about school (you text in class, skip alot) DO NOT take him. His tests are very easy though, you get to retake the multiple choice for 75% credit. Overall easy A.

He is a great professor, loves to use videos in the class, so you can hear music from the era he's talking about. Good sense of humor, just make sure to turn your phone off, but if you forget he won't make a big deal.

Dr. Anderson is an awesome teacher! He has a unique set of views, so if you disagree with him, be prepared to explain yourself well, because he is extremely skilled at twisting your words. I believe his critique on my writing helped me a bunch!

Anderson is an amazing teacher. Very intelligent, opinionated, and humorous. He keeps things interesting to say the least. He is definitely the best history teacher at Tech. I've already taken him twice and will certainly try to take him again if he is teaching the course I need.

I was uneasy about him for the first 3 weeks or so. But after you learn his teaching style and about him, he actually really funny. He is VERY sarcastic and will call you out in class in a heartbeat! SO follow his rules and get in good with his assistant. His assistant does everything for him. Very fun class, learned alot

He is an amazing teacher. He will try to scare you out of his class on the first day. It would greatly benefit you to stay in his class. A LOT of reading though.

He WILL try to scare you out of the class, and sometimes it works. Just hang in there, it gets a lot better near the end of the quarter. Fair grader, will be tough to push you harder. Funny guy, loved his class. Made it really interesting. I would take him again if I could.

I have taken at least five classes with Dr. Anderson, he is one of my favorite teachers. You will learn a lot about history. You will also learn how to articulate your thoughts properly, this begins as a survival tactic but helps you forever. Thanks Dr. Anderson.

I hated going to this class. He gives a ton of bonus and an A is easily achievable, but the guy is a jerk. My advice would be to try your best on all of the Moodle quizzes (as they add up) and never say a word in class unless you want to get verbally abused.

Love him or hate him, but it's like he walked out of Rolling Stone magazine. The class is hard, but good preparation for any upper level class. I used to hate American history after the 1865, but Anderson changed that for me. He's WAY more awesome for upper levels too. Very helpful and nice in his office.

It takes a while to warm up to him because he's a jerk, but he's so funny! Gives tons of bonus, which helps your grade, so if you don't pass with at least a B it's your own fault. Do the quizzes. DON'T sleep or text! He will call you out. Choose your words wisely if you decide to converse with him in class. Test are pretty easy. Take his class!

Funny guy, cocky and arrogant but won't mess with you if you just do what you're supposed to. Easy textbook quizzes every few nights, easy tests (straight from the notes). 3 essays, only 2 are mandatory. Gives a TON of bonus. Attendance taken with a clicker. Exam review sheets posted... loved it. 10/10 would take this class again!!

Dr. Anderson is a good teacher. His tests come off his power points. He gives a lot of bonus points, and he grades off a 12 point scale. Even though his lectures are long, he gives you a short break about half way through

I would take this class again. Anderson has strong opinions and he is not from the south, so DO NOT say "yes sir". Anderson is one of those teachers that you should take just for the heck of taking. even if it has nothing to do with your major, take him. he's passionate about what he does and he's just a great person all around.

Dr Anderson is one of the few history professors that will never have you bored in class. If you take the 2 hour lecture, he gives a 10 minutes break in the middle. He's hilarious, very up-to-date with modern culture, he once analyzed Kendrick Lamar's new album. His tests are easy, he gives study guides and a ton of extra credit

There were a lot of lectures, but he would also try to stray away from the usual boring PowerPoint presentations and assign videos/movies to watch relating to the topics we were going over in class. 3 tests with study guides, tons of extra credit opportunities. Easy A if you apply yourself and show up.

Awesome professor. Took just about all his upper level classes from about 2005-2007. American Music History is the best class I ever had. Sounds like he is still calling out kids in class, good for him. Wonder if he is still chugging Diet Coke in class?

I really loved this class! Dr. Anderson is great and because of him and this class I actually added on a history minor. The class was paperless and instead of reading a textbook he gave us film assignments to watch. He gives quizzes on each assignment, but they're easy if you actually do the work. Beware that he WILL call you out if you mess around

I took him for HIST 202 and then took his honors class because I loved him so much. He's a very interesting character and says things that normal people don't say, but very thought-provoking. He WILL call you out if you do something he doesn't like. I've never seen another human consume so much diet coke

Dr. Anderson can be anal but honestly who cares. If you need an easy A take him! Got 65 points of extra credit. USE quizlet and youre good to go. No one should make less than a B in this class.

It's been a couple quarters since I took Dr. Anderson, but he keeps an open door policy if you're a student of his. Even though I changed majors, he's still more than willing to help me along my journey at Tech. He genuinely cares about his students and the quality of their education.

Dr. Anderson is my favorite professor in the History department. Not only is he hilarious and truly makes you learn, but you will be a better historian for taking him. He is well respected and an amazing scholar in his field.

The first time I met Dr. Anderson, I thought he was the rudest and strangest man. However, it's just his mannerism. He is a bit monotone, but engaging. A lot of students are not passionate about history and can't appreciate the gem he is. He has helped me grow as a student, writer, analyst, and person. He is a tough grader.

Personally, I loved this professor. There are a lot of little assignments from the reading/ videos you watch, but they're very easy if you actually read/ listen to them. He responds very quickly to emails and is always ready to help you! He also loves to talk and engage in conversation with his students which is very nice. Overall, great professor!

all test and quizzes are taken at home and he gives you 5 "buffer days" to miss. Also go to class because he does an opener for points and a after lesson quiz. they helped my grade

Dr. Anderson is a great professor. He knows what he is talking about inside and out. The class is not hard as long as you keep up with your work. The tests are all online taken out of class. Just keep up with all the small assignments and it is easy. I would definitely take again.

He was my favorite this semester! He's a good history professor and it's a good class. He's very knowledgeable and the class rarely got boring. He always extended deadlines when asked. Some might think he's rude but I didn't really get that vide. Even though there will be homework everyday its not a lot and you can look up the answers. Even though you need to go to class he gave 5 off days, day of class you can miss without messing up your grade.

I had a wonderful experience with dr.Anderson he is very nice and caring about his class and is sarcastically funny. his test are easy the exams can be found on quizlet he doesn't believe cheating is a thing you take exams from home and he gives a break through his lecture.

Prof Anderson gives lots of small assignments, but they're easy if you stay on top of the work. Using tools like unstuck study and Quizlet helped me prep efficiently.

Attendance is only like 5% of the overall grading. Everything else is very clear on grading. After every lecture you'll do a review quiz which is what he uses for attendance.

Took him for Fall Quarter - sat in the front of his class! He IS lecture heavy and tends to ramble some, but his lectures are usually quite engaging assuming you aren't exhausted (like I was). Gives pop quizzes at the end of lectures for attendance - very easy and worth minimal points. Gives you 5 unexcused absences before points are deducted!

If you have to take this course for credit then take it because it's pretty easy to pass even if you don't care for the topic. You do have to take a little quiz on a short reading before each class but they are easy and you can use the reading to help you. He lectures the whole class. He's engaging with the listeners and will crack jokes. He's nice

Dave was a little hard to swallow at first , but eventually, you warm up to him. He's opinionated & blunt, but he's honest. It was nice that he could talk to us without sugarcoating anything. One thing to note is that he's not from around here, so his perspectives are a little different (don't call him "sir"!!!). In the end, he'll take care of you.
