I heard that he was an amazing professor from prior students but he is clearly ready to retire, doesn't care anymore, and his teaching has become horrible. He flys through lectures and practice problems and you barely have time to write anything down. I learned everything through YouTube. The homework is way easier than the weekly quizzes.

At times the quizzes can feel ‘unfair' with multi select & previous chapter content but the syllabus does state he does that. He records lectures, weekly quizzes so one quiz doesn't break your grade. He comes off brash but he is truly very kind. READ THE TEXTBOOK. His lectures are verbatim of that and it improved my grade so much.

He is very intelligent in his field, and he loves what he does. But he forgets his students don't know what they're doing. He cares about how his students do a lot but it just feels like he doesn't always give us the resources to do well.

One of only two truly awful professors I had during my undergraduate degree at UCCS. He expects you to know everything just about everything about organic chemistry already and is completely unhelpful if you fall behind. Do yourself a huge favor and take Deon instead.

Dr. Anderson is extremely knowledgeable in his field, but he just doesn't seem interested in sharing that knowledge with his students. I also had him for OCHEM I, and he speeds through lectures so quickly that you end up teaching yourself. Since attending lectures does not increase understanding, the textbook is required to keep up in the class.

His reviews are misleading. He teachers verbatim of the textbook. He's willing to help & explain if you go to him individually. The school has weekly help sessions & the science center. He even is willingly to hear students complaints and adjust tests. Can't expect to sit in lecture & pass w/o opening the textbook, your grade won't be surprising.

Not a terrible guy, but not a great teacher. He expects students to already know the material going into the course. Instead of actually teaching, he just writes out answers to practice problems without explaining. Unless you're studying 24/7, you should expect a 65 or less on the weekly quizzes.
