You don't need to have prior experience in art, just be willing to learn. Assignments are straight forward and easy. If you enjoy art, you'll like this class.

He is very nice , well spoken and give help to anyone who needs it. I would tell everyone on AVC campus to take one of his class that he teaches. A+ for Mr. Babb!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice guy, and he makes even cave-art seem interesting. His quizzes and tests are VERY easy; I really don't see how someone could fail. You just have to pay attention during lectures.

Very interesting and nice person. His class is an easy A as long as you are there for the lectures and don't slack off. Quizes are easy, just pay attention and read the text.

A really good art teacher. Anyone can tell he is good at what he does. He is extremely organized and has a good structure of his class.

Great Teacher, really knowledgeable. Very helpful, yes he has standards but he grades fairly. He gives great critiques if you ask for them, and he knows a lot about materials and techniques in Drawing as well as Painting and Watercolor. Really knows his stuff, and gets consistently good feedback from students. Highly Recommended!!

Babbs is a GREAT teacher who really knows what he is talking about. You will learn a lot in his class, and leave a better artist with much more awareness in drawing techniques. Highly reccomended!

He is a great Teacher. He has remarkable patience with students and an amazing ability to explain things. He has a lot of talent but is exceptionally unassuming. He really knows his stuff, and yet isn't overbearing or egotistical or anything like that. He is really one of the best teachers on campus at avc, without a doubt!

great teacher. very nice, very patient. He explains things very clearly, and his critiques are really helpful. I didn't expect to learn much in his basic drawing class because I've done most of the exercises before, but I really did get a lot out of it.

Mr. Babb is a very cool Teacher. He is always their if you need help.

Mr. Babb was the BEST art teacher! He's extremely helpful and really nice. The only downside is that there are alot of projects, so if you don't think you can get them done. Don't take the class. If you want to take drawing, be sure to take it with Mr. Babb!

Mr. Babb is awesome. He explains everything, shows you examples of what he expects, helps you get there with suggestions (put very nicely---it doesn't feel like he's critizing you), and aside from that, he's just a nice guy. I gave a 4 for easiness because there are a lot of projects, but they are fun and interesting.

I liked this class but especially in the winter - it was like a good bun warmer ;)

Easy class, alot of projects but not at all hard. He is able to keep you busy during class, so it's not boring. He is very clear on the way he teaches and won't criticize you.

This guy is cool, and very helpful. I wish he wouldnt give the students who don't do the asignments right good grades though. Still I have learned alot.

Mr. Babb is a great art instructor, and I have enjoyed taking traditional drawing classes with him; however the AVC Computerized Drawing class (Art 121) is weak. Personally, it felt like a regular drawing class, only with Adobe Photoshop. I expected to learn the difference between the two mediums and their respective standards. That was not taught.

I took Babb Fall 2006 for Color and Design. Easy easy class! I recommend a photoshop class prior to taking this, since he does require some assignments that take a basic knowledge of Photoshop. I noticed students that were having trouble that didn't know Photoshop. The assignments were easy and didn't require too much work.

this guy is a sweetheart, and the class is easy unless you can't color in the lines of a coloring book.

Very helpful, very sweet, kind, and wants you to do well. Perfect class to learn a lot in and also relax.

Babb is a cute little man and he seems like a sweetheart. I enjoyed his class even though it was way too early for me to want to do art for three hours. He is a fair grader even though you don't get much time for the assignments and you almost always have to finish later at home if you want an A grade.

a pretty good teacher. took his class twice. very easy if you do what is expected of you. just do the work and attend class and you should do fine.

Mr. Babb is fair. If you work, you get the grade you deserve. He is also very helpful, and I agree with everyone else, he is a sweetheart. Good teacher, good person!

Very talented teacher who is willing to help you learn and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking questions. Kind of reserved but friendly. Be prepared to work hard and do lots of projects, at least one per class and even homework to keep up! Show up, work hard and he will be kind during grading!

He is nice and he goes though all the steps with the whole class and helps anyone that needs it.

real easy, not too hard if your starting to draw. hes a cool teacher and very quiet. all he does through out the whole semester is teach the very basics of drawing and one full drawing, i think if your a really good artist and know the basics already, maybe get a harder teacher(just projects not basics)...

Took his Drawing class and I'm taking his Advanced Drawing next semester. Really sweet man. Quiet and understanding. I have had to miss a lot but you don't turn anything in until the final portfolio. He walks around and will give you suggestions, but is never rude about it. Really good teacher. Take his class!

i loved his class so much he is such a nice teach and he loves what he does. hes helpful and very nice. i would recommend his class to any one. its not hard and if you dont understand he will help you. TAKE HIM!!!

David Babb is more than a teacher.. he is an art developer. I knew nothing and he showed me that I am a true artist.

Mr. Babb is awesome; he is friendly and kind. He is shy and a bit passive but he still remains helpful. He gave kind advice and helpful technique lessons and then let the students do what they were gonna do with that knowledge. Fun class. If you pay attention, you'll realize Mr. Babb has a cool sense of humor too!

Babb has a fun personality and makes things interesting. He does expect kinda a lot in your drawings especially because all of the drawings are due at the end of the semester. I did learn a lot and I've been drawing for a long time, so if you are new you may struggle a little bit but he is always there to help you! You do a drawing every class.

Really sweet person, fun class. You can listen to music while you're working. you just show up do your work (drawing, watercolor whatever it is). Just try and you'll do fine.

He is great, he knows his art. If you miss class make sure to ask man questions. He won't update you on anything. I have to ask my table mates which isn't always the best option on clarity. He is easy and you get to listen to music (which I love). Super laid back.

Mr. Babb is so great. He loves what he does and the drawings are fun. Try your best and you will do good. I didn't know how to draw at all but I learned a lot in this class. Finish all your drawings for your portfolio that is due at the end of the term.

It seemed fun. It sucked that you learned a new concept every class. Expects you to take drawings home and finish them. Very tough grader. Kind of unfair when it comes to his critiques at the end of the semester. Kind of expects a lot out of your drawing even though it is a beginners class

Mr. Babb was amazing! He was really understanding when ever I had a problem, and works hard to make himself available for students if needed. He makes it incredibly easy to set up and build a watercolor portfolio that is individualized for each student, well being hands on, doing daily examples and really short lectures.

He can get a little irritated if the class talks too much while painting. Hes kind, lets you listen to music during class. Seems to be shy, doesnt speek up. Sometimes unclear during class as to what exactly he wants done.

I love this teacher. He's soft spoken but very knowledgeable. He definitely guides you in the direction you want to go if you just talk to him about what you're trying to do. He's sweet and kind. Don't wait to the last minute to do art projects because he can tell when they are half done and he seems disappointed but wont tell you in a mean way.

nothing really to say this is more hands on than art 145 since its a 3d design class

Love Professor Babb, I highly recommend him. He gives great feedback and genuinely wants you to succeed. Don't be afraid to ask for help or advice. It's a really fun class.

He is a god teacher, follow instructions and you will get A. Good for beginners, I wished it was more technical.

It's been some time sense i took this professor but he's worth every moment in class. Prof: Babb was inspirational being i'm not an Art major. highly recremended though. You will learn a very much from Prof. Babb. I enjoyed my time as a student. He's very knowledgeable. he'll give awesome feedback when it comes to testing.

He gives you about 7/8 projects that you work on in and out of class. He gives rubrics too so you know what he wants. His projects are complicated, I have to constantly make my projects simpler so i can come out with something that works. Hes a good guy and gives good feedback. He also allows work to be turned in more than once for a better grade.

He is amazing... truly a nice man with style, haha but overall he is super passionate about art & I respect that. He communicates with all the students, & gives good feedback. Sadly Corona took over & the last 3 months of school so went was online but he still tried his best. JUST TAKE HIM! YOU'LL LOVE HIM.

Mr. Babb is a man of few words but he's sweet and helpful if you ask. Once he knows your perspective/style of art he helps you flourish! Be respectful and do your work, don't mess around on a phone during class he can teach you how to improve without putting you down or making you feel small let him draw over your work for his suggestions are best!

Great professor and very flexible. He explains things thoroughly so that you know exactly what's expected from your assignments. Show up, do your work, and you'll pass. Professor Babb is a fair grader and is always available if you have any questions or concerns. I would definitely take him again!

I recommend Professor Babb to anyone. He's caring and you can tell he's passionate about art. He gives his students great advice about how to improve their artwork. He really inspires you to do your best. The assignments are done between in class and at home, he gives credit for half-completed or late work. Take his class, you won't regret it!

Mr. Babb is the sweetest professor and is very soft-spoken. I have nothing negative to say besides that I do not recommend taking two of his classes back to back (6 hours). Those were the slowest days, and most students found it hard not to fall asleep. Projects are due every 2 weeks, one after the other. Other than that, he's an easy grader!

This class was relaxing and fun . i really enjoyed learning from the professor and did all my work . he gives extra credit and extensions on work that needs to be turned in . i love how he cares about his students

His lectures are nice & informative! Demonstrates what we will be doing in class & helps a lot if you're struggling with it, or need advice on how to get a better composition! Gives an extra week to complete assignments and allows us to update assignments! I have shamingly uploaded blank pages, later updated them, & he was nice about it!

I really enjoy Babb's class. There's a lot of quiet indvidual work and the overall vibe is relaxing and calm. He is willing to go out of his way to help with assignments too and is really responsive to emails. I recommend him especially if you're a beginner!

Amazing professor, I took him for two other classes and passed all with an A. He's a very kind professor and gives good advice on your work. You will pass his class if you do the work and put effort into it.

Mr. Babb was awesome for 3D art, his assignments give you a lot of freedom to allow your art style to shine through the project requirements. He's helpful and will always give honest feedback when you ask. My only criticism is it feels like towards the end of the class you get spammed with 1-2 big projects, but it's manageable,don't procrastinate!

Fun class, but can feel a little too entry level for artists who have some experience already. Assignments are easy and can be fun if you do a little more than the bare minimum. Great Professor who gives helpful feedback. Most of the supplies needed are provided, I wish I could take him again for my remaining art requirements.
