Mr Balogh is the best teacher FCC employes. He LOVES to teach and LOVES students. His unique teaching style keeps EVERYONE tuned in and interested. His grading is very clear, homework is very clear, and tests are very well written. A+++++++ TEACHER!!!!!

Most definitely one of the best Professors I have ever had in my life. Wonderful teaching methods, easy to understand, tests are straight-forward. If you are going to take Physics then take it from Prof. Balogh.

Balogh is a good teacher though some people think his tests are too hard which is arguable. If you are thinking about a physics teacher go for Balogh or Glaves who teaches at Clovis, he is quite good as well

The best professor at city! extreamly funny and will always be willing to help you. His tests are hard though...make sure u keep up with ur reading!! the online homework is great... cant fall asleep in there cuz he does something funny, weird, or outragous every 15 min :) if ur takin him for 2a....be prepared 2b is 3 times as hard.

hes is a very good teacher. he is one of those teachers that got the education for the sole purpose of teaching. he is very helpful and knows his stuff. also very approachable. hes ests are open book, but very hard. no curves or extracredit. BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING.

Best science teacher ever. Understanding and teaching in a manner that grabs your attention. Take him, he is slightly difficult, but he keeps you motivated and helps a lot.

Tests are difficult and sometimes unpredictable, but do the homework, take good notes, read and you'll do fine. Crazy lectures, he's a mad man i tell u, anything goes. No late hw bcuz its online.

I loved Mr. Balogh!! But...whatever you do...don't put AOL CD's in the microwave at home!! It will not be happy!! Super fun class, do-able tests--tough but not impossible. After transferring to UCD, I still say he's one of my favorites. Highly recommended!

Mr. Balogh is a fun professor. His lectures are entertaining and extremely helpful.

Most awesome teacher ever!!! He makes you see the "why", so you understand (remember) it automatically. You get to use a cheat sheet on every test (formulas)and you can redo all homework(online only) until you get it right. I'm 1/2 done w/semstr and have 100% on homework and both tests. (105.7% with xtra. cred) I didn't even use cheatsheet.

I'm just here to confirm that everything that everyone else said about Balogh is true. He loves to teach, loves Physics, and is very articulate when teaching. He teaches you how to approach problems & understand the concepts. This class is demanding, but very much worth it. Definitely one of my favorite teachers.

Great teacher, very helpful and always makes time for students. Homework a lot like tests (didn't enjoy the hw format though, all online), know the HM know the tests. Fun teacher, shows lots of really neat demonstrations and has a great sense of humor. Would recommend to anyone needing the class.

Mr. Balogh... ummm the funniest teacher in the science building..he's the man.. always accepts his mistakes... His labs and exams are incredibly easy and make sure you never miss a lecture and labb cuz his conceptual exams questions are straight from his lec and lab.. gives you a study guide : )

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST INSTRUCTOR I HAVE HAD IN THE SCIENCE DEPARTMENT! He is willing to help his students in his office hours. He lectures on important concepts and breaks it down for students to understand. study the book and homework and review questions and you will do fine. Take physics with him you will not regret it.

Very fun professor. One of the best science teachers I've had so far. I would recommend this teacher to anybody looking for a nice fun teacher.

The material is hard. But you will never find a better teacher to teach it to you. He knows his stuff, he explains it well, and hes always there to help! and he takes something not interesting and makes it interesting! If you are stuck taking physics you're gonna want his class!!

Mr. Balogh is the best thing to happen to FCC. I started to take the class at Reedley and had to drop because the teacher was so unhelpful. Everything made so much sense after I took it with Balogh. He's hilarious too! It helped that he posted the lectures online in case you needed a refresher. The class isn't hard as long as you do the homework!

Balough is an amazing teacher. 4B is hard because the subject matter is hard. Every Friday holds a 3-4 hour session for tutoring and homework help. There are some problems that you will inevitably have to look in the book to be able to solve but you won't really use the book much outside of that. Take physics with him. He's way better than Abbott.

Physics, by nature, is a difficult subject. Mr. Balogh does a fantastic job at A.) keeping lecture interesting, B.) keeping lab interesting, and C.) teaching physics. He is always there for you and values your experience in the class greater than all else. He is a very moral man and is pretty funny too. THERE IS NO BETTER PHYSICS PROFESSOR AT FCC.

Easy if you follow his recommendations and study. Clear, passionate, and teaches effectively. This is the teacher you need if you think you will struggle through physics. He's top of the line in my opinion.

I was really not looking forward to taking physics... and then I went to the first class with Mr. Balogh which completely changed everything. He made a subject that I thought would be boring and dry, and turned it into something I thoroughly enjoyed. He makes class exciting. Mr. Balogh could teach physics to a monkey. He is that good.

Mr. Balogh does everything in his power to get you to understand the material. He's about as good as a professor can get. My advice for someone who's about to take physics for the first time would be to go to grasp and make friends with the other physics students asap. Also don't over study, the tests aren't nearly as hard as the homework.

Mr. Balogh makes his lectures entertaining and the subject matter easy to understand. He is there to teach you physics not math. So if you struggle in math it will make the class more difficult. This is physics, its hard. So if your a student who doesn't study or do homework, either change your habits or change your major.

So good that I didn't even have to use the textbook. Homework is done online. The most interesting way to learn Physics is from this professor. Makes class engaging and fun. Will not regret taking this teacher. Makes a difficult class much less difficult. Explanations are thorough and encompassing.

I respect Balough to where I must leave a review. He is a very loud and funny man who loves physics and it shows. Huge nerd. HUGE. NERD. Physics 4C is very hard but he makes it real with his historical antidotes. 10/10 would take again. He posts video recordings of his lecture which have saved my butt and he's put up with a lot of my crap. Nice.

Excellent physics professor. I must admit, this was a challenging class due to the nature of the subject matter. The grading is fair, and I'm proud that I was one of the 5/51 that received an A. He records his lectures and publishes them on youtube, which is quite helpful if you miss class or need to review. Thanks Balogh, looking forward to 4b/c.

Mr Balogh posts his lectures on youtube. He spends the day before the test reviewing the material. He gives 10 homework problems a week. His tests are kinda like the homework. You will spend at least very least 8 hours a week outside of class on this class a week if you want an A. His lectures are well structured and interesting.

Mr. Balogh is an amazing teacher. His lecture is very descriptive. Just do the homework. it helps you not only for grading but also prepares you for the test. For the conceptual problems on test, try to use the video he posts on you tube which are basically the class lecture since most of the conceptual questions are from the lecture.

I've had Mr. Balogh for 4A and 4C and LOVED him. I would've never taken his class if it wasn't for my friend telling me about him. Absolutely hilarious and very engaging with his students. He also teaches what he thinks is important, not regurgitation from the textbook. If I had the opportunity to take 4B with him in Fall 17, I would have.

This class was an excellent alternative to taking 4a over at Clovis community. Balogh is engaging in ways that made it much easier to care about the subject matter. That being said, show up. There are notes available online but seriously show up. More than once when 50% of the class decided not to show there were easy quizzes for points or HW help

I first dreaded the subject, but Mr. Balogh has changed my perspective entirely. If you're not a big physics fan, give it a chance, you might actually like it. And if there is a chance to take another class of his in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to. FYI work hard. :)

Best professor I have ever had! Hilarious, straightforward, and answers questions with acceptable responses; I dont think Ill ever see someone like him ever again! The only criticisms I have to offer him are his lack of calculus usage in class and his lack of time spent on derivations.

Mr Balogh is a good lecturer. Make sure you write down everything he writes because then you put those concepts on the formula sheet for test. Had him for Physics 4B and 4C. Thanks Mr. Balogh for your Physics experiences. Oh, we should play KSP 2 when it comes out in 2020, it will support multiplayer mode.

Balogh is definitely the best Physics teacher I have ever seen. I really wish I had taken him for 4A (I Only did B and C w/ him). Only teaches morning classes, hard for me to wake up for, but its 100% worth it. All of his lectures are on his youtube channel. He's the professor I tell my friends to take for any physics course. He does everything he can to make sure you pass the class. Instead of going by the book, he teaches with his own style and tricks to understand the material. The homework is almost identical to his exams. He really cares about his students and sets us up for success. More than 5/5

Very wonderful teacher. Cares very much about his students and wants them all to succeed. As long as you put in a lot of effort in class, you will do great. Joining office hours is a great way to get feedback on previous quizzes, ask for help on homework and labs, or even just get to know the professor better.

Professor Balogh is a perfect example of how every teacher should be. He teaches complex topics by simplifying them and making them understandable unlike most professors. He deserves a nobel prize for his teaching strategies. He made class super engaging even though it was only once a week due to covid.

His rating speaks for itself, his a good teacher. I would say he is a little bit better than his rating suggests but that's just me. Hw was the toughest iv ever done lol and like avg 12Q per chapter. if you do the homework, go to grasp and utilize the tutoring services then you are good. Easiest/Hardest class I ever had. Professor Balogh is a great guy. He seems to actually care about his students and is passionate about physics. The class is difficult but he does a good job of helping you study and understand material. Sometimes his lectures can be difficult to understand as he tends to go fast but he posts videos which is nice.

Really good professor Balogh is insanely funny. My only problem is that he often went off tangent for too long. I enjoy professors who can talk to the class, but at the end of the day I did pay to learn and can choose whether to attend class. Sometimes his stories would last 20+ minutes. Otherwise he was great!

Mr. Balogh was a great teacher. I was worried about jumping into physics but he had great lectures that clearly showed the concepts behind physics. The only thing I wish he would have done better is to show the algebra more clearly. A lot of the time he would skip the algebra entirely and just show the answer he got. Overall great teacher though!

Professor Balogh is a great professor. What I like about his class, he's good at explaining concepts and problems. He skips the simple algebra steps in the problem, but if you don't know how to do it, ask him. Exams aren't too difficult. He lets you use a cheat sheet on exams. Homework problems are harder vs on the exam. He's very passionate.

Mr. Balogh does a great job at teaching Physics 2A. It is a difficult course in that you need to understand the meaning of variables and concepts to solve physics problems. Tests are easier than the homework and that helps. Note sheet allowed for exams. Homework is light but can take time to solve. Score adjustment in tests for doing corrections.

I was a bit hesitant to jump back into physics because I didn't understand it in high school. He made sure the lectures were interesting and provided many opportunities for homework help or just help in general.

The way he teaches raised the bar for me. He's the best teacher I've had. He's taken all the concepts that we're required to learn, and distills them into very easy to understand lectures. He has a unique curving system for his grading, and allows for the students to simply just learn, rather than obsess over the grades. I loved his teaching.

This is my second semester taking physics with this professor, I'm sadden as this will be my last physics class. If I was a physics major, I would like for Balogh's to teach every physics class for me. He made my journey a fun learning environment in physics. Do the homework and try to understand it. Exams are easier than homework problems.

I've taken this professor for a whole year. Hands down one of the best professor to teach physics. His exams is consistent to what he teaches in lecture. Make sure to do homework and reading. Practice using equations and you should be fine. I've had so much fun learning in his class. He is hilarious, loud, and funny. Truly inspirational.

Such a great experience to have Mr. Balogh for an entire year of physics. If you get bored in lectures easily, just sit in the front row and raise your hand to participate in demos. Endlessly entertaining, highly knowledgeable, and so passionate about his field. Have fun!

This is the first time I rate a professor, but professor Balogh deserves praising. He's one of the best professors I've ever taken a class with. The material of the class is hard, but he explains the material really really well. If you show up to the lectures and actually do the homework I'm positive you will pass.

Best physics professor on campus! He is very knowledgeable and has great storytelling skills. He does a lot of stunts and demonstrations that make me nervous for him. Got a B both semesters with lowkey minimal work. Gives you a formula cheat sheet for tests very helpful. You won't regret taking his class!
