Professor Bashaw, is not a bad choice; however, the class is graded out of 100 points, and it is almost impossible to raise your grade after a bad test homework grade, despite how hard you try. Tests are hard. Even if you get the right answer, but your work doesn't match the way he taught it, he takes points off and doesn't explain why very well.

I would never take this course again with him. There are only 6 assignments for the whole semester (3 of which are exams). After the time limit was up in one of our exams, someone was still working. He then got up out of his desk and started yelling at her. He's left many in tears because of his teaching style and unwillingness to compromise.

Dr. Bashaw was a good guy but average lecturer. Lectures were typically under an hour, but he moved very fast and did not give many examples in class. You were then left to fend for yourself on the homework. Only offered 100 points total, and 70 of them were exams. He would take points off if your work was not to his standard.

Bashaw is a cool older guy that is super passionate about econ. He does have a lot of homework and the tests/final exam are tough but if you study you should be fine. He is also really helpful if you ask him questions after class and during office hours. Overall he isn't a bad option.

DO NOT take this professor. Graded only on exams and two other assignments. He has you falling asleep in class. And will take away points on an exam for not showing absolutely all the work. When I asked him a question he laughed at me and tried to make me feel less significant than others, so much for promoting diversity. What a joke. 0/10.

Do yourself a favor and choose someone else. Very boring and rude. Only graded on exams and other assignments. Class is 100 points and exams make up 70 of them. I read the diversity comment and didn't believe it until I attended his class. Because of this, I am now dropping out of his course. I refuse to be made smaller.

I like how the guidelines say not to express if the professor shows bias or favoritism... Like they know that professors are racist and refuse to acknowledge it. Thought he was a bad professor but a good guy, but being in his class for roughly 4 months changed my mind real fast. I never want to have another professor like this again, all I'm sayin.

Even the things you put in a calculator. I wish I dropped out and switched to someone else's stats class within the first week.

Disregard anything from 'pre req's', memorize exactly his way/wants or it is wrong. Help/follow up is hard, 0 point anyways, thinks its easy and gets mad. No room for mistakes, each point is a %

Professor Bashaw is honestly not as bad as the many others claim. He lets you use the textbook on the tests, just no notes. Many questions were just knowing what formula to use and identifying what the variables were from word problems. The test is extremely similar to homework in terms of format. Would take again.

Great instructor, goes a little fast but I personally liked that. There are only 6 graded items in this class so you have to take very good notes, do the homework, and STUDY for the exams because if you bomb one you're fcked. Ask questions and be sure to know your stuff before taking an exam and you will be fine. Once again, DO THE HOMEWORK!

I do not recommend Dr. Bashaw at all. I had him for CORE 140 and he expects you to have past economics knowledge from high school. I had one week of economics in high school, and he knew that, but didn't seem to care. Exams are very difficult and precise. The homework is completely different than what is discussed in class. Do not recommend.

Otherwise, his lectures were quick and he always finished before class was supposed to end and the content was easy to understand. Great Professor!
