Dave Baxter is a GREAT professor. He tells you that all you need to do to do well is take notes and study them—and that you DON'T need the book. Make sure you come to class every day or find a way to get the notes from someone because the tests are based solely on in-class notes. There are three exams and no other assignments; all fill-in-the-blanks and open note, very easy if you take good notes. Lectures are interesting, but he tends to ramble a bit; overall, a good class and professor.

Dave is a cool guy. However, the class is laughably easy. It's 15 open note/book online quizzes. That's it. I've never had an easier college class. If you are in a major that just needs a COMM course/elective, choose Baxter's online course. If you're a COMM major and want to be challenged, choose a different professor.

Class is based entirely around lectures. There are 3 exams in the semester. No homework, no textbooks, just the lectures. That being said, attendance is mandatory. If you're absent, you need to get notes from a classmate, as the exams are based on the notes and are the sole source of your grade. Very engaging and respectful professor.
