I had for Prof. Bedard for SM131 and the discussion with him for that course was the only redeeming aspect of it. He always kept the discussion sections interesting and actually allowed the class to discuss the ethics of what we were learning. Take Bedard if you get a chance!!

Not to mention, he goes through the concepts in a clear and efficient manner. His section of FE101 always scores 10 points above the overall course average and only teaches the material he knows that will directly benefit us on exams.

Bedard made FE101 (now SM132) my favorite class and I was a COM transfer who is not good at math. I will definitely try to get into his core class. He is the best professor at BU. I love Bedard, but SM132 is an atrocious course. Your final grade depends on three exams, and getting one or two questions wrong on an exam could be the difference between two letter grades (which is what happened to me). He is charismatic and makes the difficult content easy to digest, so I recommend you take it with him. He cold calls a lot btw.

The online tests were decently unfair considering we only had an hour to answer 20 free-response questions... not his fault but I feel as though he could have prepared his class better (midterm 2 curve was 20-30%). Tough class since it's heavy on exams (40% for midterm and 45% for final) but professor Bedard is very accessible and is willing to help you. He is great at clarifying any concepts, so ATTEND his office hours if you don't understand something before it's too late (especially during exams)!!!

Prof. Bedard is a great professor. I had him during LFA and he still managed to shine through the screen. He genuinely cares about his students and makes finance interesting. He gives clear examples and is also very accessible outside of class. I highly recommend him as a professor and would take his class again but this time in person.

I joined the class a week late and Professor Bedard was extremely helpful in getting me set up, catching up with missed assignments, and helping me to be very well prepared for the next week of classes. Professor Bedard is a legend. He is at full energy even in his third session of the day, and is able to dumb down seemingly difficult concepts into elementary school mathematics. As Einstein said, it takes a genius to make it simple. That is really the case here, he repeats concepts over and over again until students really grasp the concept.
