Comp. Religions & Sexuality - great topic, he makes the class interesting and gives you a lot of information, but doesn't overload you. Tests seem easier than your grade reflects. Lots of material on tests, review sheet and sessions helpful!! Nice guy! I'd recommend his class. Just be sure you study hard for his tests. Slides online if u miss

Really nice guy, easy going. Class was not very difficult. Gives a good amount of info but not too much. Expects you to do all the readings. Tests we not bad at all. Gives study guides. Really helpful. All around, a great professor. I would really recommend him.

This was a unique class, comp religions and sexuality, but he made it very interesting. He is a good teacher, really nice, laid back, and pretty funny. The tests are really easy if you do the study guides, and the classes are very open for discussion and questions.

Fairly easy class and professor. Does not overload you on info, but all together its a lot of stuff. You are expected to do the readings. 3 tests, final, and paper. Gives a study guide for everything. Down to earth and pretty helpful. Overall, very good professor. Definitely recommend him.

Professor Bell is a wonderful teacher. Definitely one of the nicest. Attendance was randomly taken and part of your final grade, so just GO! Make sure you read the book; you can't pass just by reading the powerpoints. Lots of interesting things to think about and discuss.

Great professor. Very easy class if you just take the time to read the material, come to class, and study. Everything he says and puts on the study guide (if he chooses to make one) is on the test and nothing more. Very understanding and helpful. I wish more prof's were like him!!!

Great professor! Amazing class, sexuality and religion are two great subjects and he combines them perfectly. Random attendance(only 10 days). If you go to class, you will do fine, if not you will have to study hard. Not a class for the close minded.

Awesome teacher! You can easily get a B, but a little studying goes a long way. He goes out of his way to help everyone and offers extra credit. He's the only teacher I've ever had that asked the class what they do/don't like about it. TAKE HIS CLASS!

A really awesome guy. Class was easy and I learned a lot. Made an A+ by studying the powerpoints for an hour before the tests and never doing the readings--which I wish I had done because I'm sure they were really interesting. He provides insight into different perspectives while being careful not to offend anyone. Definitely take him!

Easy class and very interesting! Very organized in class with lectures and ppts. If u come to class and pay attention, you will pass. I got an A with no studying other than an hour right before the test. Test are easy and he always curves.

He's nice, posts study guides, teaches everything you need from the book so a lot of ppl gert by w/o reading, and he takes attendance randomly but his lecture are the bulk of his texts so come to class. He's also witty and it keeps you awake.

Buying the book is a MUST. but other than that, there is no HW but the readings. Very funny and extremely good looking.I got an A+, but if you study the power-points and do the readings, there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. TAKE HIM!

David Bell is the cutest teacher I've ever had. He's really passionate about what he teaches. He has a newborn baby, so can be a bit of a scatter brain some days. You don't even need to take notes. Bell puts all the lectures up on slide shows online, so you can just study those. There are daily readings, but you don't need to read it to do well.

Dr. Bell is a great teacher! He has an interesting sense of humor! Also has his own definition of a fun class! but overall a great teacher! Do the readings, take notes and pay attention during class! He has 3 essays during the sem. A midterm and a final that are half essay and half objective so it shouldn't be too hard if you study!

LOTS OF READING. Random daily quizzes on the reading (prior to him teaching the class). Attendance mandatory. It was a bit hard for me because I didn't really understand the readings (until he would explain during class). Other than the quizzes, there was 1 midterm, 3 papers, and 1 final. Lots of class discussions. He's a funny guy.

Dr. Bell is just awesome. You have to read before coming to class but the readings are usually only two or three pages long. Very easy tests which he provides study guides for and on top of that he curves them. Papers are only 700 words and he gives extra credit on those. Probably one of the best professors I have encountered! Take Dr. Bell!!

Dr. Bell is a good teacher, but the class was a bit challenging for me (a biology major) because all of the concepts are a bit abstract. There will be reading every week, and their kind of long. Along with that, there were basic quizzes over the material. There were only tow test- a midterm and final. STUDY FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE LEGET.

Well, this class is fairly easy. I never picked up the textbook. I studied his PowerPoints. I got A's on most of his exams. If you don't study his PowerPoints, then you may not do well. So, study his PowerPoints only! I took this in the summer. Highly Recommend!

Dr. Bell is one of the best teachers you can take at GSU. He is very interesting, personable, and helpful. His class, as long as you are interested in the subject material, is very easy. Make sure you stay focused though, because his side comments on material can/will be on the test.

His class is insightful, in terms of getting a basic understanding on the 3 main world religions. The thing is, he discusses it from the perspective of sexuality within each religion. He makes lectures interesting. Have to keep up with readings, but I didn't do them, and I still got an A. Easy A if you put in the effort.

He's a really cool teacher, but a little discombobulated at times. No essays just 3 tests and the final. If you study a day or two before the test and come to class you should make an A on the tests.

First off, Dr. Bell is a cutie. Absolutely sparked my interests even more for religious studies. His lectures can sometimes be a little unorganized, but the actual content is very straight-forward. Only 2 exams: midterm and final. 3 papers. Lots of extra credit. He does take attendance with 2 absences allowed.

Best professor I have ever taken. Brilliant ideas. I learned more in this class than in the combination of all my other courses. Must take him.

Dr. Bell made the class lectures really interesting. He made sure that the lectures were purely based on what historians said rather than it being based on his own perspective. Tests are a bit difficult, but should be fine if you study. You do need to purchase a reader since you do have a lot of readings.

Dr bell was great. He's so nice and his lectures r always interesting. He asks his graduate students to grade the 3 essays he assigns and they grade it very leniently. A lot of stories to read but u don't have to read them. U can study the study guide for the midterm and final and make at least a B. If you're a religious major then take him.

The class isn't that hard but tbh I didn't try. If you pay attention and read the sections it is easy. He does a good job in class explaining concepts. If you don't go to lecture you won't pass. He puts things on tests that weren't in the reading that we went over in class. He was late for class quite a lot though and took attendance randomly.

3 Exams and cumulative final. Exams are easy if you take notes during lectures he curved exam grades. Randomly takes attendance. He was late almost every class. Didn't use the book at all and still got an A.

Dr. Bell might be the best professor I ever had. His goal is to help his students learn, and that is more clear in his classes than with other professors. The lectures are actually so interesting that I was bummed out when I was sick and had to miss a class. I highly recommend taking his class if you want to work hard and learn a lot.

Dr. Bell is a great teacher, and Rels 2001 was a super easy class. Hopefully he stopped doing site visits, because I would have rather had one paragraph essays. You don't really need the coursepack, since for tests you could just make flash cards from the vocab words on the study guide and do just fine. Dr. Bell made the class interesting.

David's class was very enjoyable and free-flowing. The discussions in class were very interesting to say the least and I really enjoyed the field trips we took! I would definitely take this class again. Just be prepared to show up regularly which you may not find difficult since its such an interesting class.

his lectures are very engaging. he makes you want to learn about what he's talking about. his tests were detailed but he gives VERY helpful study guides before each test. if you need extra help he will give it to you. class isn't particularly hard. you have to study though and attend lectures or you'll be lost.

I loved Dr. Bell's lectures, even at 9 AM. He is very clear on his lectures and on tests, which made the class easier.

I LOVED this class. I took it my first semester at GA State, and it opened my eyes to how amazing college could be. I didn't mind getting up at 9 AM to be there. Allowed me to really think about who I am as a person, and inspired me to do well. The lectures were full of information, but it was enjoyable. Highly highly recommend.

My class was the first to take his online course and we only got 2 quizzes the entire semester because he wasn't ready to launch the online course so everyone got an A in the class. He said for those of us who wanted to learn we can come back next semester and learn what we didn't get to this semester. Easiest A I ever got

Dr. Bell is like a South Park episode every day. Be warned, he makes fun of everything, but in a good way. He really cares about you learning the material, and learning how to be a critical interpreter of the world around you. Lectures are so funny. The only bad thing is he did get really behind on the syllabus, but extra credit made up for it.

I've taken Bell for about 4 semester now and I love having him as a prof. Yes, he is lectured heavy and requires 100 books for his upper RELS course but all in all he a beast at RELS. Beware he is a little flaky when you need answers but he does own up to it & does his best to work it out, for our gain. He is fine as hell, too!

I took it online. The module videos were kind of long (about an hour) and you had like 4 of them to watch a week. They are pretty interesting though. He disappeared the second half of the summer, so he basically gave everyone a 100 because there wasn't enough time to give us work or tests. He seems to really know his stuff, so take him

An amazing lecturer when we stay on topic. Assignments in course were changed as was necessitated; did not go strictly by syllabus. Beware if you need to be 100% sure about what the plan is. If having difficulties speak to him after class. If he cannot hold your attention, no professor can!

Dr. Bell's class is extremely reading heavy, we used 5 different books. He can also be somewhat scatterbrained. Lots of class time was spent discussing other topics in evolutionary psychology. Overall it was a great class and he is a great teacher, I hold stronger opinions on science and religion now

Dr. Bell was a very fun professor. His class was very interesting. Participating in class is fun. Everything on the exam was covered in class and were very easy questions, just study! No textbook, but requires a book for readings. Gives pop in class writings, so go to class. They are easy! Was very lenient and graded easy for the online portion.

Dr. Bell is an amazing professor. He teaches the material clearly and does not just read off the slides. The quizzes mainly include questions from the lecture and slides. He also gives some extra credit assignments and some paper assignments so be ready to write. One disappointing thing about him is that he does not reply to emails timely.

He makes the class really easy and tries to make you learn the content instead of worrying about getting a good grade. Before every class you have to read the readings he posts which is a little tedious, but not that hard, then when you come to class you write 2 sentences on it. If he sees you read it, you get a 100. Tests are also very easy.

While the class itself wasn't long enough, the professor was clearly very passionate about what he was teaching, making it a fun and informative class. Just make sure you go to all the pre-test study groups he holds, they will make all the difference.

TAKE HIS CLASS! Dr. Bell is genuinely passionate about his discipline. Grade was determined by two exams and a final, he provided two extra credit opportunities. He deviates from each lecture but the information he shares is valuable. The information on the exams comes directly from his slides so study the basics and attend the study session.

I loved him! He was very funny and was very respectful towards everybody and everything. I genuinely enjoyed coming to class and listening to his lectures. He tells you what you need to know for the tests, which are the only grades you get. However, the tests are not unreasonably hard and you'll pass if you listen in class and go over your notes.

He's funny, very lecture heavy, and provides decent study guides. If you don't attend class you're not done for but attendance counts to your grade. He does not respond to emails. The tests are based strictly off of lectures. No quizzes or any other grades than tests. Extra credit for +10 pts on any test by writing 500 word paper.

He's so incredibly knowledgeable about what he teaches. He shares stories and makes lectures so much fun. Your grade for the course comes from 3 tests, JUST SHOW UP TO CLASS. He will verbatim put what's on the tests in note format on the screen. Attendance is also a grade but his lectures fly by so fast cause we're having fun and asking questions.

Extremely engaging in his lectures, and the things he talks about are all relevant to your everyday life. Attendance is mandatory but the class is short and flies by. I even had friends who weren't in the class come to his lectures just to listen to lectures. The tests are straight from the study guide and he always gives extra credit.

Dr. Bell was a great class! It's lecture-oriented and the only assignments are 3 test throughout the semester which sounds tough but he handles them well. There are study sessions before each exam and they're so helpful. You can tell he really cares about what he's teaching. Just go to class and attend the study sessions and you should be good.

I was very fortunate to have had such a great professor here at GSU. I had NO IDEA the class would be about religion, so the first day of class was a little shocking, but Professor Bell persuaded me to stay. He's hilarious and always makes the class feel comfortable when discussing triggering topics. I would love to take this class again!

He talks at the speed of light, which can be inspirational, but also a little hard to keep up with. It's clear his mind is going in a million different directions, but what comes through the most is his passion for his work. There's never a silent moment in class once you get Dr. Bell talking about religion.

This class was great! The material taught was interesting and the way Professor Bell lectured kept me intrigued. If you show up to the majority of these classes, take notes, and have a general understanding of what is being taught, you will pass. Definitely show up to the study sessions because that will help you on the exams tremendously.

Professor Bell is super funny and understanding! There are only 3 tests that make up your final grade, but he holds study sessions the night before and goes over everything that will be on the test. He also has 3 extra credit opportunities for 10 points extra on each test, and it's super evident how passionate he is about what he does here at GSU.

Dr. Bell is a great professor! You are graded on three exams and he has study sessions the night before and if you cant make it to them they are videoed so you don't miss content. One thing I will say is that sex is talked about a LOT and if you aren't comfortable with that, then this is NOT the class for you. He cares for his students

Great teacher! Only grades are 3 tests and attendance. There is no homework but there are a few readings (nothing much really). The course is very interesting and you can tell he enjoys teaching it.
