This class was so hard. HE doesn't curve either...everyone said that was going to curve big, but my average was a high D and that is what I got. I have to take him again so I hope this time will be better!!

He is a very helpful guy... No the course material isn't easy, but he makes things very clear, and he doesn't mind helping you out. He curves a lot, and he really cares about his students learning the material. He's the best teacher for CHEM1120/1130.

The best chem professor ever! If it wasn't for him i would have never passed chem 1120 and 1130. He is very helpful and really wants you to learn. The material is hella hard but if you make an effort for help he'll gladly give it to you.

Oh my gosh, Chem 1130 is so hard. Don't even take it if you aren't gonna study. Dr. Bjorkman is so nice. He is the best teacher ever.

He is awesome! Biochem is not easy but he does his best to make it interesting. You should definately go to him for help if you need it because he is patient and understanding. His tests were not easy but if you study and go to class you will do fine.

I took his 1.5 hour class which seems extremely painful to sit through. But if you're taking notes 24/7 and listening very carefully and ummmm.. studying like 6 hours every day and ritualistically living your life through H bonds and dipole interactions, you'll be okay! ;-) PS. NEVER skip class.EVER

The class requires A LOT of studying and 100% class attendance, and if you have that, you should do fine. Dr. Bjorkman is so nice and offers numerous help sessions after class for extra help. I studied my tush off and made a b.

Very very hard class, the only class I have ever had to actually "study" for here at ECU. Great professor and will do anything to help you. Go to class EVERYDAY...lots of take home quizzes and in class quizzes...study hard and you will pass.

Dr. Bjorkman is THE BEST! He's so nice and friendly and quirky in his own way. Tests are kinda tricky but not unfair. He's very patient and very helpful. Excellent instructor! :)

He is a really sweet man and really wants to see you do well in the class and in nursing. However, he doesn't put the info on a nice pretty platter and hand it to you. He told us he wants us to struggle through the info and actually learn the material. But def. take him.

Very helpful and personable. His lectures can be a little dry, so get a cup of coffee before class or don't take a morning session. Attendence is mandatory, but the lab is easy and will almost always get out early.

I love love love Dr. Bjorkman! He is a very quirky man, but he really cares about his students. I took this class last spring and failed (with no excuse). I took him again, and with more effort got a B! If I can do it, you can. Take him! Go to class! Take notes...and study hard...

Chem is hard no matter what teacher. He knows his stuff and is very willing to help. Stay focused and study on a regular basis. Don't wait until the last minute to study or you will hate it. Do good on the homework - work in groups. He encourages it.

This class was difficult but with Dr. B's help and his 4-6 question curves I got over 100 on every test. Go to him! He is more than willing to help. Study hard it's not that bad.

It was alot of studying this summer, me and classmates spent average at least 8~12 hours studying chemistry this summer, it was VERY intense and a lot of information needed to learn. I made a C in the end, I was hoping a B but I know my grades weren't high enough to earn a B, but I'm glad I passed and don't have to take it again:)

He's definitely by far the best chemistry teacher at ECU,(Better than Gerow)I strongly recommend reading the chapter, doing the problems at the end of the chapter, understanding the online homework, and take time to memorize and understand hydrogen/dipole-dipole, and london forces, functional groups and physical and chemical properties. This class itself is extremely difficult, but Dr. B makes it crystal clear. Go to the help sessions, go to his office or more help. this man is wonderful! after taking 1120 i just KNEW i was going to do horrible in 1130, but he completely changed my outlook. he makes the material managable (dont get me wrong, its still hard) but he would do anything to help you! i DEF recomend him to anyone- you'll love him!

He is so helpful with the extra study sessions and if you attend office hours he will make sure you understand the material. He doesn't really give a big curve just drops a few questions on each test but if you go to him for help he will try and make sure you pass. Take his class! best chem prof at ecu~

Dr. Bjorkman is one of the best Professors that I have ever had. AWESOME. His tests are hard but his lectures are priceless. He really makes things come together during lecture. Study his notes, read the chapters, do the homework and pay attention in class (yes thats what we are supposed to do in college) and you should have no problem getting an A

Best 1130 instructor! Do not take this class under any other instructor. Study notes, read book, and do questions at the end of chapters for success in the class. Go see him for any questions. This class definitely requires you to spend some time studying. Good luck!

Very hard class but an excellent professor. Make sure to attend class, do end of chapter questions, complete practice exams and ask questions for clarity! Attend recitations because they really help!

Bjorkman is one of the best professors you will find on campus.. Chemistry is hard in general but he puts everything into perspective.. He takes his time to explain any questions you may have.. If you have Gerow.. drop her and take David!

Great teacher. Explains things well for a hard subject. Print off notes ahead of time and add to them in class. Go to recitation; it's very helpful and you get extra points. Also do as many book problems as you can.. combined with the online homework and recitations, you should get a good grade.

Dr. Bjorkman is the BEST professor for chemistry. He is very helpful if you ever need clarity on anything his office door is always open. He has powerpoint notes and his test always have a couple tricky questions on them but they are due-able. Keeping track of reading and doing the homework is important but this class isn't that bad.

He's really funny and he's a lot of fun to listen to. He helps you understand the material. Instead of giving a curve, he allowed students to retake a test to ensure we learned all of the materials. He's a very smart man and he knows his course information.

Probably one of the best teachers ive ever had. Not an easy class but he makes chemistry as interesting as possible. Also will go out of his way to explain things. Usually throws out questions people did bad on on tests. Honestly cares for the students.

MR.B is one of the best teachers at ECU. He cares about all his students, he curves tests(when we dnt do well) and is willing to stay after to help you. You have to study and come to class though, but if you do that your bound to make a no less than a B :) Choose Mr.B!

Dr.Bjorkman is absolutely one of the best professors at ECU. He genuinely cares about every student. Chemistry, for obvious reasons is hard, but I can't imagine anyone being more helpful. Tests are hard, as to be expected, but there is never material on the tests that were not covered in class. I could not ask for a better chemistry teacher.

its chem. its gonna be hard. he doesnt always give prac exams so get them from other profs cuz lots of questions are on the test from the prac exams. i put a lot of studying in and got a 97 and 92 on my first two tests. go to his office he helps so much! an A is managable, but you have to work for it

He is probably the best beginning Chemistry professor to take. He attempts to make chemistry interesting to everyone in the class by bringing in cool experiments. Assigns lots of HW, but it is on a manageable schedule. He is a very nice professor and is willing to help out in every way possible. Take Dr. B. It will be an excellent choice.

Love, love, love him! It's CHEM so it's not going to be easy but Dr. Bjorkman does his best to help you. Attend his office hours and get to know him if you're struggling... he will definitely help you out as much as he can!

He really tries to help everyone and he literally has an example for every concept. It's a very difficult subject, but be sure to go to class and recitations, read the book, and go to any study sessions and you should be able to stay on top of the work. I definitely would choose him over the other chem professors.

Dr. Bjorkman is a great professor. I absolutely love his teaching style. He uses lots of examples to help you understand and he is really funny. This is the hardest class i've ever taken but he will do anything to help you. Tests are hard and there is lots of homework but it will be that way in any chem class. I would strongly reccomend taking him!

Go to the study sessions. Don't be afraid to ask questions (he is hard of hearing so speak up). Overall very easy course if you attend class, take notes, and study a little before the tests. I will always pick Bjorkman for chemistry courses. :)

Dr. Bjorkman is an awesome professor! He is the harder of the other Chem professors, but you learn more and will eventually benefit in later courses. He's deaf, so speak directly at him and loudly when talking. Go to class, take notes, do Mastering Chemisty, rework homework, and you'll do fine!

Hes a very nice guy, but his tests are impossible. He dosent give out practice tests like some of the other chemistry 1130 teachers. Budget cuts got rid of the recitation, which probably would have helped a lot. I wouldnt choose him over the other chemistry teachers.

Dr. Bjorkman is a nice guy, but is deaf & a little hard to understand. I did have to drop his class, it is pretty difficult! But he is a good teacher & actually cares about his students. He knows his chemistry! just take notes, do the work, go to the PTC & his office hours & I think anyone would do fine. I would recommend him.

Dr. Bjorkman is super nice but his class is hard & his tests are insane. So you better know your stuff! But he truly does care about his students & wants them to succeed. His class is not too bad as long as you pay attention & do your part. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended, dont miss his class or youre screwed! I'd recommend him!

Awesome Professor!! Very helpful and understanding. He wants you to make the best grade possible and encourages students to utilize his office hours. Enjoys the subject and teaching. I didn't open the book at all, his powerpoints have everything you need to know. I received an A in both sections and would highly recommend him.

Hard but great teacher! You have to work your butt off in this class, but take him because you will learn more and be better prepared! Go to PTC, office hours, study weeks in advance. If you're willing to work its definitely possible!

Dr. Bjorkman is a super caring man. His class is the HARDEST I have taken at ECU thus far. However, if you go to his office hours and the PTC for help, you will not fail. He actually cares about his students and is willing to work with those who may not be the best test takers. If you have to take Organic Chem, Bjorkman will help you through it.

Dr. Bjorkman is by far the most helpful professor I have met! He really wants students to succeed in his class, and gives students plenty of opportunities to pass! He WANTS students to attend his office hours. There is homework weekly on Mastering Chemistry. I recommend attending the tutoring workshops that are offered! The class is NOT easy!

Dr.Bjorkman is amazing. He is so helpful when you need it and wants everyone to be successful. He curves his texts usually by two questions which really helps and as long as you a good amount you should be fine on the tests! I strongly recommend him!

Dr.Bjorkman is the most helpful chemistry professor anybody could ask for. If you try hard and study, this class will be worth it. You learn a lot to prepare you for upcoming courses ... not to mention he is absolutely spectacularly amazing and perfect .

I had him for Chem Lab 1151. Greatest teacher! He is very helpful, explains everything clearly and isn't too hard when it comes to grading things. I can tell you the final exam is EXTREMELY HARD but its only 10% of your final grade. Make sure you do lab reports right and it should be a breeze. LOVE HIM!

Honestly Bjorkman is such a nice guy and he really loves what he does. The class is hard yes, but if you work at it everyday, you will do just fine. As heard, the tests are indeed very hard but he gives you a practice test so review that and your notes. Also the PTC isn't all that helpful as they seem to not know what they are doing. i hate chemistry, and mostly because i had an awful high school chem teacher, but bjorkman explains things so clearly. he's such a nice man and he is willing to answer any questions! you will pass if you do hw/go to class. GO TO PIRATE TUTORING FOR EXTRA CREDIT
