Great teacher! He is a very interesting guy. The tests are challenging, but it's biology, what do you expect.

I wasn't expecting 1107 to be this challenging, and really it shouldn't be since it is for NON MAJORS... however, this professor seems to get really complex in his lectures... his notes are not very organized (they're hard to understand) and his HARD tests come off of his lecture notes.

This class is definitely not as hard as people are making it seem. If you do the reading before hand (since that's the reason he gave you the syllabus early) you'll be fine. If you have questions ask them! I made an A from working hard and actually doing the work that was given. Give that a try!

One of the best professors. He is a very knowledgeable person and tries to help out as much as he could. Interesting humor. On the 'lil negative side? He intimidates me. Tests is a toughy too.

Good teacher- gives good notes on overhead and makes himself available to students who come to him for help. Tests aren't the easiest, but he reviews beforehand, and if you study, you should do ok, plus he curves. Biology isn't easy, but he's pretty good, I'd recommend him.

Dr. Blaustein is a good teacher. He does his best to keep you engaged and gives lots of good examples. However, he assumes we've come to him with this great knowledge of Biology that we just don't have, especially since we all took 1103 with different teachers. I recommend him with the disclaimer that he has high expectations, even for non-majors.

Excelent teacher. He allows you to make copies of the slides before class. He reviews the labs every week so you can study for lab tests. Uses good examples and makes the information easy to understand. Throws in a joke every now and then. Tests are only from lecture material. Sit towards the back because he talks VERY loud.

I took his class over summer, he is very strict, likes to yell!!, but he is fair...hates slackers, so dont sleep...study study study...u should do fine....if u study!!!!

Im not so interested in biology, but he isnt bad at all. He is very clear and tests right out of notes. Come to class and take notes. He yells at the class in a funny way "...Well WHAT DO U GET?... Im telling you guys...ITS ON THE EXAM!!" I think he's hilarious when he does that. His tests are not bad if you study!He curves them too. He means well!

HE IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER YOU DON'T NEED A BOOK FOR HIS CALSS BECAUSE HIS TEST COME DIRECTLY FROM THE SLIDES.. HE CURVES EVERY TEST BY LIKE TEN POINTS AND HE HELPS YOU IN HIS FREE TIME TO UNDERSTAND THE NOTES HE IS A GREAT GUY AND I DID GOOD DURING SPRING SEMESTER I MADE A B AND I HOPE TO JUS AS WELL IN THE SUMMER SEMESTER CLASS

He yells a lot and likes to reiterate, "Listen up! Put your pencils down! EVERYBODY MISSES THIS ON THE TEST!" which I find a little intimidating. But once you get past the gruff, yelling demeanor, he's a good teacher who knows his stuff, and as long as you put in the time, he's very fair and you'll do just fine.

he is great. all his test material comes from his notes. the only thing i used the book for was to glance over the day before a test. I am not going to say he is easy because he might not be for some people, but the majority of the class I a in has a c or better, I have an A. He is extremely helpful and available...answers phone calls and emails.

He is a very good professor but can be difficult for some people. It is extremely helpful to bring a voice recorder to class and record his lectures. He tells you what will be on the test. This guy knows his biology.

He is funny in his own way. Very helpful, told the class he would be at his son's pizza place and to come ask questions and eat pizza. Sometimes answers his phone in the middle of class and lets 300 people listen to the conversation. Goes pretty fast but you can visit him in his office and get the notes prior to class.

He is very gruff, but once you stop being intimidated by that he is a good teacher. He is not east, but if you work for it you can do well in this class.

great teacher, very audible in class. he makes sure that everyone understands the class. he usually curves the test so that the average would be around a 75. the last test average was a 63, so we got a 12 point curve. he answers questions in class. the only problem was that at times, he was a bit fast paced. overall, he is a great teacher

Dr. Blaustein is AWESOME!! He seems really intimidating at first, but once you are in his class for a while you will realize it's not that bad. He is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. GO TO CLASS!! You do not need to buy a book b/c test questions come straight off of his power points.

He is amazing. I took this class before and I never really understood what was going on. I read the book only a few times for some clarity because I understood everything he taught me. Take good notes and try to show up to every class. He had really helpful study sessions prior to all major test. Take Heed, don't study right before the test, show up to every class b/c he says things that are on the test and you tend to remember it better if you've heard it first hand. Also please, please, write good notes and study them. a.jones.

Dr. Blaustein is a fantastic teacher. He speaks loudly making sure all his students understands. He curves on tests and he's INCREDIBLY HELPFUL with the study guide for the tests. He tells you exactly what to study for for the test. You have to go to class and take good notes because he tests you only from his notes. He's an exceptional teacher.

FAVORITE professor yet! Explains everything clearly and repeats in next lecture so you get it again. Loud in class so you cant fall asleep even though you wont want to cause he makes everything interesting. You Do need to study a lot for test but it is college!

I enjoyed blausteins class. Some people get intimidated by him cause it sounds like he's yelling when lecturing but he's really not. I took both sections with him and made A's in both. Only advice, this is not the type of class you want to leave on the back burner and wait till the last minute cause the info will build and it is ALOT.

This class was extremely easy. His lectures are interesting but you must take notes! He is very helpful and understanding. His tests are a breeze, just review your notes before you take it. Attending class is virtually mandatory because all of his questions come from his lectures, not the book. Overall one of the best teachers I've had.

Great prof. yells a lot. has study sessions outside of class which were very helpful. i got an A very easily with about 2 hrs of studying for each test, plus attending the study sessions. passionate about his work..don't let him intimidate you...he's really nicer than he seems "on stage"

This teacher is top notch. attendence isn't mandatory but his test comes out his lectures so its recommended that you attend class. to me he was a great teacher. i wanted his class for 1104 but it was filled up. also attend his study session he does prior to a test. during the sessions he narrows down what you need to study for that test. goodteach

Dr. Blaustein is a great professor! He is very loud, but very clear. There are three lecture tests and two lab tests (lab tests are timed). Lab is easier than lecture, depending on the TA. He is intimidating at first, but the more you go to him and get help, the more comfortable you will be around him. He is always available during office hours.

He relates the most he can to real life situations so its easier. Make sure to go to his study Sunday sessions, all the answers to tests are basically given!

Dont believe what you hear.I loved his class. He had study sessions at his son's pizzeria and there he practically gave you the test. You have to know your stuff the tests can be specific.Was very helpful and knew his stuff.

He can be intimidating to some. I haven't cracked the book once the whole semester. His tests come straight from lecture and he doesn't post on Ulearn. So you either have to have friends in class or you have to attend. GO TO THE STUDY SESSIONS! They make the difference between a B and an A. An A is not hard in this class if you study what he wants

Great teacher. He is very helpful. Once you put in the time to study you will be fine. He provides all the help you will need. I failed my first test but ended making an A+ in the class.

Okay so this guy comes in lookin like Darwin and starts yelling. He seems scary at first but he is so funny. He yells a lot but not in an angry way at all. It really helps keep me awake. Fantastic teacher and if you listen in class you will get an A. Don't buy the book, he doesn't use it. Had him two semesters and loved it even tho i hate bio

I am not a bio major, and so I definitely struggled in his class, but he is very helpful if you visit his office and ask for help. He holds study sessions every Sunday prior to tests, which can be very helpful.

He's like a drill sergeant. He likes to yell, but it kept me awake. He makes you feel like a complete idiot, made me cry the first time I went for extra help during his office hours. I got over it quickly and started going to him for help. Studied hard and got an A. He's got an abrasive personality, but don't take it personally.

I love him. He's abrasive but he'll tell you that his goal is not to pat you on the back and make you like him and get a C but to get you to understand the subject and get an A. I definately reccomend going in for extra help while he may be intimidating he's very helpful. The study sessions are helpful too, he goes over all material on the test.

Loved this class, recorded every lecture. Was on time and studied only from lectures. I am the worst with sciences and was terrified to take the class. All you have to do is listen to him and you will pass, he tells you what's on the test. I learned so much and hated that he didn't teach 1104 this semester. I'm struggling with my 1104 teacher.

OMG this teacher cracks me up. Great sense of humor. He's loud and clear about everything. His notes are pretty straightforward and he overs tons of help. His tests go along with his notes. Make sure you pay attention in class and bring a recorder if you can tho :)

He does not take attendance but you will struggle if you don't go to class, attendance is key. His tests are very straightforward, not a lot of tricks to them but still pay attention. He's very intimidating, but he'll teach you what you need to know. Overall good teacher. Take really good, elaborate notes and you won't have any problems.

Love this professor, no unnecessary reading or quizzes. His tests come straight from his lectures, he does in and out of class reviews, and is very clear about what is going to be on the exam. The material is tough and not dumbed down, but he is very well versed in everything he teaches so it is worthwhile.

First Semester of college and this was by far the BEST professor to have. He doesnt take roll, but test come directly from his lectures. Dont buy the book unless you want to read it for yourself. Take him! Good teacher who know what he is talking about. I can't stress the importance of attending his sunday study session where he gives what is going to be on the test. I made A's on all the test because of the study session and I never have done this good in a science class before. I repeat ATTEND THE STUDY SESSIONS!

Dr. Blaustein is an amazing professor. He goes out of his way to provide weekend study sessions to make sure you get the material and his office is always open to any students in need of a little extra help. He's very loud but I feel like that helps him get his point across during lecture. He also covers a lot of material during 1 class period

I have never seen a helpful teacher in my entire college school years and He is the BEST TEACHER you could ever have for Biology. He has study sessions on Sundays, which are really helpful for the coming test. You don't really need the book at all and study from his notes from class. He is a wonderful teacher overall :)

Excellent Professor. Passionate about his subject and the most available/helpful prof you will probably ever have at State. Get the book and pre-read before lecture, bring a recorder and tape the lecture, then go home and re-listen and type out your notes. Use this as study guide for the test and you are good to go!

Best teacher I've had at GSU so far hands down. Take good notes during his lectures and STUDY HARD and you'll do fine. He even goes out of his way and holds study sessions the weekend before tests at his son's resturant (and he buys everyone food). He talks loud and it can be intimidating at first, but he really wants you to do well in his class.

He can be quite intimidating at first, but don't let the loudness of his voice fool you. He really cares about his students and wants us to pass. He's amazing. He gives you so many reviews for a test. The only way you could fail a test is if you just legit don't care and don't study. Definitely go to his study sessions. They're extremely helpful.

Like previous comments have stated, Professor Blaustein does come off intimidating at first but after a while you get use to it. The subject is typically difficult, but Blaustein pretty much makes the material straightforward. Easy A, as long as you study the material. Also, go to the review sessions, he practically tells you the test material.

Professor Blaustein is the best professor that I have ever come across at GSU. He knows the material well and makes you understand it to. He was one of the best professor at Georgia State. He explains the material thoroughly and clearly which makes easier for a non science person like me to understand. He seems very intimidating at first, but you'll realize he's actually very helpful and cares sincerely for his students. People should definitely take him for biology 1103k.

I liked him very much. He goes straight to the point when he is teaching and he doesn't beat abt the bush like how some other professors do.it makes me really concentrate better in class. Dr. Blaustein is really intense at first, but after a while that fades away and you can see that is a really cool, funny guy who is willing to help students who try. He does thorough reviews of all the tests (labs included). I recorded them, wrote them, and went through and marked all the stuff in my notes and did pretty well on the tests.

Do 4 things: ALWAYS attend SI, his weekend study sessions at the pizza place, and his office hrs, record his lectures. Even if you know the material, attend office hrs. Blaustein is the czar of Biology . He truly is an excellent lecturer who does his job very well. He expects students to go home, study the notes, and read the textbook. Blaustein is no slouch when it comes to exams, but in my opinion he does an excellent job preparing his students.Do not register for his class if you want an easy A

his class is a breeze. Attend his lectures, SI, office hours, "study as you go" (he says this one a lot), he does not require that you use the book, but it really helps if you do. i LOVE his class!! and get used to his yelling, he's a natural.

He may seem to speak a little fast, but if you listen then everything he talks about is common sense. He gets straight to the point and only tells you things that will be one the test.

NOT an easy A. All the tests are straight from the lecture, bought the book and didn't use it except once or twice. You will get the grade you work for. Don't mind his yelling, he is a very intelligent professor who is passionate about Biology. I would take his class in a heartbeat. I received an A in his class, but only because of hours of work.

Blaustein is a great teacher! He yells a lot but he is only trying to scare you. In reality he is a nice guy. He cares for his students and literally screams at you the test answers. Have a hi-lighter handy in class and go to all the review sessions. You will make an A!

I really liked the way he yelled and screamed during class, he kept the class alive and made sure everyone was awake. He taught the material well and had notes and everything. Very comprehensive. I didnt go to his office hours, but you should definetly take advantage of it. Tests were kinda hard but if you study hard you will make good grades.

I am in the process of taking this class now. At first, i was scared and intimidated, but now i am use to him. I'm happy im taking him for 1104k. This class isnt a breeze, but it's not hard either. Study as you get the notes and you should be fine. Go to SI and his review sessions. I havent gone to any, but i hear they help.

Tests are strictly conceptual so really difficult to study for. He curved 2/3 tests but its a hard class. Would not take him again

Freakin' Awesome teacher, he is so passionate about everything!He really scare the living bugs out of you, he does yell, but he has too otherwise you won't study enough. He is intimidating- don't be intimidated tho. He tells you what will be on the test, he's always available to meet with you. I've never reviewed a teacher,he's worth reviewing tho!

He is the lesser of the other evils. This class was harder than an intro class should be. Doesn't matter what book you use he doesn't care in his words mitosis is mitosis. You shouldn't have a problem hearing him in class, but if you miss something he does make himself available for his students. You must understand concepts and study!!!!

He is probably one of the best biology professors at Georgia State. Yes he yells and can be a tad bit intimidating but he is very helpful. I would definitely recommend taking him.

Dr. Blaustein is an amazing professor. I believe that he wants all of his students to succeed. True, he can come off as intimidating, but it is because he is passionate about Biology. He tries to make the lesson easy, and also holds study sessions. With out the help of Dr. Blaustein, I would not have graduated.

Amazing teacher. One of my favorites for biology. Every single thing on the test he goes over in detail in the class. Just pay attention and write down everything he says and highlight the important parts he emphasizes. He's very clear with what he's teaching and makes sure you understand it. I highly recommend.

Reading not absolutely necessary, because his exams come from his lectures- SO GO TO CLASS. When he says "this is on the test" he means it. Blaustein was an intimidating professor at first, however after a few lectures you began to realize how incredible he is at teaching. You can tell he is passionate at what he does, and he thoroughly understands every piece of material he covers. You MUST show up for lectures in order to get an A in this classnot doing so will be your death.

Some students are thrown off by his bluntness and loud voice but I wouldn't take any other bio professor. Extremely straight forward (literally tells you what's on the tests), no book needed (must show up to class to pass), weekend reviews, plenty office hours, breaks concepts down, no classhomework, & 5 test. A must take biology teacher.

He might sound scary but hes actually an excellent teacher. You dont need textbook, but you NEED to attend every class. He literally tells you test questions during the lecture, although they may be worded a bit differently on test. Curves exams like hell and holds review sessions. Exams can be difficult but if you study youll be fine.

Prof. Blaustein maintains this image as a hard-ass Bio professor who will spite you for asking questions. I suggest you don't be intimidated by him. He's a superb teacher and a wonderful guy. He's like if Robin Williams' character in Good Will Hunting and Mandy Patinkin's character in Homeland had a love child in the name of the study of life.

DON"T LET THE ANGRY YELLING FOOL YOU. This guy puts on an intense persona in lecture but he is really one of the nicest, coolest, and most genuinely caring professors in the game right now. I really recommend recording his lectures. That helped me a bunch.

Dr Blaustien is by far one of the best professor's I have ever had. Please do not let his high volume of speech scare you away. He has office hours, please use them. He is more than willing to help any student who asks for help. You really do not the book. Go to every class. Go to every review.

The class is lecture based, so it is smart to attend class. He provides office hours for you to go talk to him about any concepts you need clarity on. The questions on the tests are straight from the lectures, so it's a good idea to record them. The class consists of three lecture exams and two lab exams. Go to lab- you miss two labs, you fail.

Blaustein may come off as extremely mean but if you get to know him he is truly nice. If you're having trouble in the class go to his office hours and he will explain it to you. He gives student a lot of opportunity to make a good grade in the class. He even hosts review sessions before the test . Sit in the front ,take notes & go to class.

I absolutely loved Dr. Blaustein's class! The weekend before the tests he gets the students together and reviews with free pizza. He runs the Biology lab department so he's incredibly busy, but he will make time for you. Don't be intimidated by the way he lectures. His class will prepare you for lab and whatever other biology classes you may take.

Dr. Blaustein seems really scary at first but he's an amazing professor who's actually pretty cool. He teaches you exactly what you need to know and doesn't beat around the bush. I recommend recording his lectures as well as taking good notes because his tests are based off of his lectures, not the textbook. Don't skip class or you'll miss a lot!

The lectures are important. Pay attention and you will pass. He is intimidating, but he cares.

He is an amazing professor! Don't be intimidated by his loud voice. He makes sure you understand the material rather than just preparing you for the tests. He holds review sessions on Saturdays, which is completely out of his kind heart, and it's extremely beneficial to doing well on the tests! Great man, great teacher, and knows what he is doing!

Really enjoyed taking his class. Yes he yells the lecture material to you, but it's better than monotone long lectures. He holds review sessions before the test out of his own time on saturday mornings and they are SO helpful! Always willing to help you during office hours. Overall he's a really nice guy and good professor!

He loves Biology. This man WILL HELP YOU. If You show up you will do great, every Saturday before the tests he is having review sessions, record it, mandatory just go to it. no excuses . This was the hardest class for me since I haven't taken a science in 9years after also not being in school past 6 years. if he can make me learn then you gonna be K

I TOTALLY recommend him! He comes off as hard core, loud and mean but he really has a great heart. He wants the best for his students if he sees you trying hard enough. Show up to his office hours and try to go to the review sessions he holds. Even though I came out with a B+ in his class he encouraged me so much to continue pushing. GREAT TEACHER!

Blaustein is a great professor! His yelling may catch you off guard, but it is all with good intention. He is also very sweet at heart.

Blaustein will come off as hostile and loud on the first day of class, but he will grow on you. He will yell very loudly during lecture, but constantly repeats info during his lecture so that students understand it. His tests come COMPLETELY from his lecture, so I recorded them, which helped immensely. Don't procrastinate in this class!!!

Awesome teacher. He does come off as scary at first due to the yelling but he is just passionate about what he does. He legitimately cares about his students even let me take a test a day early so I can make it to a job interview. Took him for my first sequence in Bio and made sure to take him for the second this upcoming fall.

Just show up to class, take notes, and study a little after every lecture. The test are purely lecture based and Blaustein does a good job at letting you know what's on the test. He holds weekend study session, they are really helpful and really guarantee you a higher test grade +curve. Lectures are engaging (and shouty) , you wont be bored.

He comes off as kinda hostile, but he really is an amazing teacher. Doesn't take attendance, but every class is packed with information and skipping would not be recommended. He has lots of opportunities to meet with him outside of class and work on material you don't understand. If you're willing to put in a little effort, take this class!

Take Blaustein. He really does want you to learn the material, because he shouts you in the face about it. 3 tests total, acts like he won't curve them but he will. Tells you exactly what's on the test. Don't buy the lab manual or textbook, waste of money. Can make you feel dumb if you don't know the material :-)

He was an awesome teacher. I studied a lot because I was trying to earn an A, but even if you just pay attention in class you could probably pass because he is that good at explaining the material in a way that is easy to understand.

I sat in the front row and let me tell you, dude is LOUD without trying. And when does want to be, JESUS CHRIST. he's one of the professors that emphasizes that you'll need the material for the next level class and he means it. He lets you record his lectures which is a BIG plus. it's science so it's fairly difficult. You get what you work for.

best bio professor. he yells but just to get the point across. test are based off lecture so go to class and you will do fine on the exams. does not take attendance. lab attendance REQUIRED. no book needed. 3 exams multiple choice. 2 lab exams. review sessions on Saturday before the exam.

A loud teacher, however a great teacher. Emphasizes what's going to be on the test and knows how students operate to make sure you know the course material. Attendance to lecture is not mandatory, however if you want to pass the class, ATTEND EVERY LECTURE. He's a very helpful teacher and if you want to actually absorb the material, he's the best.

Dr. Blaustein is an AWESOME professor. Textbook isn't required as he mostly goes off of his lectures. If you study, you will pass. Simple as that. You can tell he wants every single person in his class to pass. He may seem to come off as loud and mean during his lectures, but he just cares. Also a pretty funny guy.

I took this class as a freshman and you must study or you will not pass. All of his test are lecture based so I recommend recording them. He is a great teacher and I wish he was teaching my Biology class for next semester.

Plain and Simple, 1103 is a tough class, but if you go to class Blaustien will give you the information you need. I didn't open the textbook (although I should have) and ended with an A-. It is clear that he is a seasoned professor, but his class is one you need to work for to get the grade you want.

He's pretty good in my opinion. If you're one of those students that just like lectures then this class is good for you. Also if you don't mind being told exactly what's going on the test that's fine, too, take his class. Please also look over your notes for at least 20 minutes after class, you will need it.

Dont buy the textbook or lab manual-we never really use it. Yeah it's true Blaustein yells when he's teaching but he's only trying to get you to understand the information. Study and come to class so you can work thru test questions on exam day. Record the lectures especially on review day. Go to his office hours if you don't understand.

Love this professor. He is sure to emphasize the important points that will be on the test. He knows the information and lectures from memory. You HAVE to go to lecture in order to pass the class even though attendance isn't mandatory. Notes aren't posted online. Go to his Saturday review sessions, they're very helpful. Tests aren't too difficult.

It was kind of a new experience of this style of lecture and teaching but it works. He seems to be a hard professor at first but after a while you'll get the hang of his style of lecturing.

He's a great professor and knows his stuff. He can put up a few terms on the board and just do a whole lecture without looking at any notes. He's also big on you studying everyday so that you can build on your notes. When studying for his class, read over the notes and you'll know exactly whats on the test.

I don't know why people left bad ratings but blaustein is one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are very interesting and he tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test. He's a great professor. He has a sense of humor, his lectures are great. He will tell you what questions will be on the test. Take good notes and review them frequently before the test and you will be fine. His tests aren't really hard if you study and put effort. I was afraid to go into BIO but if you put the effort you will get good grades!

Dr. Blaustein May talk loudly, but I honestly think its a plus. Hes so caring when it comes to his students and their personal responsibilities. But hes also very real and will tell you like it is. His advice is always GOLDEN. Got to take A&P I and II and I seriously wish he taught them. GSU better hold onto him for as long as they can. GREAT

This class is not hard, but it's also not a piece of cake. Going to class is not mandatory, however missing a lecture can affect you. The book wasn't necessary, but I did used a lot of my notes to study. He does tell you EVERYTHING that will be on the test, I suggest recording lectures so you can go over what he says. You can easily get an A in this class if you're willing to put in the work. Professor Blaustein is a great professor and really cares about his students. Record his lectures and listen to them a couple times before the test and you'll be fine. He tells you everything that will be on the test.

I took Blaustien for Bio1101 and I thought his class was so hard I would fail. The first test I got a 30%. I went to his office and he said. the notes in my lectures, record my lectures and come to the test reviews on saturday's. I did everything and re listened to the lecture after the reviews and passes with a B. Always go to his office.

We only get one extra point added to our grade, if we do an assessment. Do the cog books and well on the lab exams, if you want to pass.

He's frustrating to listen to, he always just sounds really angry and intimidating and always yells, but if you go to his office he's a nice guy. Online homework will sneak up on you- he doesn't remind you of upcoming deadlines in class. Gives good lectures.

So, just like people have said, his tests arent based on his lectures and he does not post his lectures or notes on icollege. He assigns Cogbook assignments that are super easy and worth 15% of your grade. He also does test reviews at his sons restaurant. Overall hes straight, if you work and study really hard youll do just fine.

His syllabus is straight forward. You have to learn as you go, so I recommend recording his lecture then later that night create a study guide so you are always up to date because his lectures continually build on each other. 5 test in total, 2 lab test & 3 lecture test. Lecture test are 50 questions MC and lab test vary but they are super easy

He's a great teacher and really knows what he's talking about. Some aren't a fan of his aggressive teaching style but I grew up with foreign parents so I'm used to the yelling. You have to work for your grade but he doesn't make it impossible and is always available as a resource during his office hours. He also tells you everything on the test

Dr. Blaustein is an amazing professor who cares about his students greatly. However, his class is very difficult if you are not wanting to put in the work to pass. You must go to his lectures, and take good notes. He tells you exactly what will be on the test, and it does not differ. He also has office hours frequently to help students.

Dr Blaustein is a strict but fair and caring professor. The class consisted of 2 lectures per week (around 30-40 minutes each) and ALL the test questions come from them. We had to complete a short (and easy) homework assignment about once every 2 weeks. His tests are hard, but he gives a test review. For the lab, it was a weekly quiz and a labster.

Be prepared to learn. If you are looking for an "easy A" this is not the class for you. I failed my first two tests in this class , scoring a 66 and 64. I immediately emailed Dr.Blaustein , and he agreed to work with me every week in order to help me better grasp the material. It was time consuming, but it was worth it.

He is very kind and willing to go above and beyond to help you pass. He even wrote an amazing recommendation for me. He offered review sessions at a restaurant before exams and they were very helpful!

Took Dr.Blaustein a while ago for BIOL1103k & 1104k, and got As in both. It was not easy, you have to remember every second of the lectures to prepare for those quizzes lol. But really helped in microbio and harder level classes I had to take later on. He's tough but worth it if you're willing to put in the effort.
