He is not the greatest teacher for accounting, but, I gurantee you a C or better in his class.
THIS WAS PROBABLY THE EASIEST CLASS I'VE TAKEN MY WHOLE COLLEGE LIFE!! I'VE LEFT A COUPLE PAGES BLANK ON THE FINAL BUT I STILL GOT A 100%. HE ALSO LETS U RETAKE EVERY MIDTERM EXAM. EASIEST "A" POSSIBLE!! BUT IF YOU WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING DON'T
the class average was an F..there is NO lecture..you watch a DVD..thats not teaching
Accounting classes are already hard as it is, his teachings seem to make it more difficult than it should be; and his requirements are ridiculous. No compassion to students at all!
Hes nuts. Mumbles when teaching, is 15min late to EVERY class(8am). Terrible teacher very hard to follow his lesson in such a technical subject, thou he knows what hes doing. You think UR going to fail the class badly, but you somehow walkaway w/a C.
The Absolute WORST, let me say it again, WORST teacher at CSULB and probably EVER.. HE doesnt do anything and then has unbelievably hard tests..HE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO TEACH...GET OUT NOW...i took him fall 04...class average was an F
This guy ranks up there as one of the worst professors I've ever hard. The class is hard enough on its own without this useless piece of cr*p. He shows up 10 to 15 minutes let to every class. He gave us a 51 question midterm where all the questions were calculations. Best Grade: 31. Retire already!
The syllabus changes every week, doesn't give out homework, but you don't learn anything also. He is hard to understand, and doesnt care if you know it for the test or not. don't take this teacher!!
You won't learn a thing in class.
The worst accounting teacher I ever had.
This guy does NOT know how to teach at ALL.Posts useless "class notes"(spreadsheet with numbers on them)on beachboard.Tests are so hard, he doesnt even know how to solve the problems! If you are forced between taking this guy and staying another semester, STAY ANOTHER SEMESTER. AVOID THIS GUY!!!!!!!!
nobody understands what is going on, he needs to take a class on how to teach and how to keep poeple interested and focused
What everyone else is saying about this professor is true. Horrible, horrible teacher -- you won't learn a thing at all. Totally disorganized and tests you on topics which he himself doesn't seem to understand. You can't / won't get an A!Recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!
STAY THE HELL AWAY! I feel dumber now that I finished the class!
He is definetely the worst teacher that I have had. The only that is good is that you think you are failing, but then you pass, probably because he can't fail everyone
He does not even stick close to the syllabus, and constantly changes the grading system from curve to no curve. Has the class watch an accounting DVD, writes very messy, and jumps from topic to topic. Did not learn anything in his class
I got A in this class. Get to know him, you'll be fine. Don't worry.
I'm not sure what everybody is talking about. Just pay attention in class and practice the problems at home and you'll be fine.
Had him for Winter session. Very easy class. he gives u the test questions so you know what to study for. Pretty much everyone in the class gets at least a C. i ended up with a B somehow, when i was getting a D in the class.
He sucks. He is probably a good person, but his teaching style is bad.
He sucks as a teacher. Surfed the web everyday in his class. Everyone gets away with a C at least.
the test questions are all on his web page. if you goto the review before every test you'll pass the test. isn't that hard, you only have to goto class three times, once before each test at the review.
This guy has the wackiest grading scale but i didnt learn a dammed thing at it is my major.
This guy is awesome. So easy. Just show up to class and do the assignments. Easy A or B.
His class was easy, just a pop quiz everyday for like the first half of the semester which everyone got full credit for as long as u turn something in. He is one prankster, first exam everyone full credit even though he made us panic.
Covers everything that is on the test in class. Gives questions to the tests at the beginning of the semester. Must come to class or you lose points. Final was hard compared to the other two tests.
Great professor. Let's you know what you need study for the exams. Helps you understand the material. Have to come to class and study to get good grade. I got an A, but I earned it.
Gets the students to participate. Good handouts that make it easy to follow lecture. Answers questions. Makes class fun even though subject is very detailed.
With out a doubt the worst proffesor that I have ever had or could even imagine.
The worst professor ever. He makes it easy to pass the class by grading on a curve but does not teach anything useful. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY!
SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS! Have 2 weeks in class and have not learned a thing.
If you want to learn, don't take Bojarsky. If you want an easy A, take Bojarsky. Sometimes it's unclear exactly what he wants, but hang in there because everybody else is just as confused. Come to class, study a little and you'll probably get an A.
I feel that I am really learning the accounting concepts because he goes over chapter several times. Very helpful if you have a question. Need to do homework. I like his class.
If you come to class and do the "quizes" then you should probably get an A. If you want to learn, don't take him, but if you want to get an A take him. You probably will not learn, but you'll get an A.
You won't learn anything by taking his class. Plus he forces you to spend extra 50 or so bucks for unnecessary study guide for the quizzes in addition to 100 bucks text book! He is doing this because he's lazy to make up his own quiz questions. Other teachers teaching this class only require the text book.
yes, extra $55 bucks required for this class for study guide. Lecture is no good. Teaches sitting behind his computer...lazy. Most boring. Boring boring boring class by the way he teaches. He will suck the excitement out of you. you will fall asleep. When you go inside his class excited, you will come out sleepy and tired & bored.
This guy is a piece of****, plain and simple. If at all possible, avoid taking him in your Accounting career at CSULB. Also I want to clarify that I am a good student, I have an overall GPA of 3.565 and I am almost positive I got a B in his class, although it has been 2 weeks since the final and he still hasn't posted our grades. This guy is la
Do not take this teacher. He wastes hours of class time, you don't learn a thing, he wont answer questions, he yells at students. He basically doesnt want to be teaching and shows it. He fools around on the computer all class and has no idea what is going on. He takes weeks to post grades and does not respond to email. Worst teacher I have ever had
Explains the information several times. Very helpful if you have questions. Gives you all the test questions and the solutions at the beginning of the class. Like his casual teaching style.
I am already getting tired of getting ripped off by the bookstore, publishers & the author forcing me to purchase non-improved new edition coming out every year. And this guy forces you to purchase unnecessary study guide because he is lazy to make up his own quizzes. Take somebody else!
Good class, enjoyed it very much. Teaches you to understand not memorize. Does make you buy study guide but takes tests out of them.
took this class in winter, bojarsky might be the dumbest man to ever receive a phd. he manages to not only confuse the class with his lectures, but on numerous occasions he confused himself. however, he gave us the tests before we took the real test and then changed the numbers on it so it wasn't too hard but expect to teach yourself a lot.
His tests are easy if you know how to do the problems (about 5, 10, and 15 questions per exam) backwards and forwards. First exams are straightforward, but later ones are more tricky. Gives you questions B4 exam but changes #s for the exams. (changes presentation of questions for mdtrm 2 and final exam, so don't rely on memorization, UNDERSTAND)
He's very disorganized..I couldn't understand what was going on cuz he kept on just typing a bunch of numbers on excel! Tests are in written packets. Buy the study guide book...most of his tests questions are on there. He's kinda nice, and don't rely on your memory. UNDERSTAND. UGhh
This is a funny guy. Disorganized. Always 20 minutes late. Took it in summer, so quizzes everyday & one final: all very tough because tricky. Almost everybody did bad in the class so he gaves us lots of extra points to pass the class.
This is the worst teacher on earth! You will learn nothing in his class. He shows up anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour + late every class and will keep you there until after class has ended. To pass all you need to do is show up to class and memorize the study guide problems assigned. All of his tests come directly from the study guide.
Took in the Winter so he's disorganized, one of the worst teachers around. I got an A but didn't do much in the class. b/c it was winter he made it super easy but you don't learn anything and he confuses you b/c he has NO structure! Took quizzes at random, he didn't even grade it, just gave credit/NC. Not the brightest bulb, but good for winter.
just plain awful. always late to class, never prepared, and i think i know even less about accounting than i did before taking the class.
Hasn't change a bit. Took it in the summer. Very inconsistent. Might have a quiz everyday or not. Test(3) are the same as his prior class; one Final. Hang in there and you'll be surprise with your good grade. You won't learn anything so just do whatever you can to get a good grade. I got an A and learned absolutely nothing.
UNREAL KIDS. DOESN'T EVEN TRY TO TEACH. DON'T BUY THE BOOKS, WASTE OF MONEY. JUST USE THE PRACTICE TESTS HE PASSES OUT. GET A GOOD GRADE ON THE FINAL AND THATS UR GRADE FOR THE CLASS. ENJOY HIS LIL GIRL SINGING WHILE U TAKE YOUR TESTS.
Totally incomprehensible. Always late. Does not answer question in a way that makes sense to anyone. the only way to pass is to Read the textbook and learn from that. his lectures are just plain bad. he's a jackass. don't take him. you only need to show up for tests.
Worst. Teacher. Ever. no joke. completely incomprehensible. never on time to class. rude to students. Terrible handwriting. Seems to make up the grading scale as he goes. Class average score on first 2 test were under 60%. only way to pass is to ignore everything he says and study the text and show up for tests.
I'm usually pretty fair about teachers even if they're sub-par. Having said that, THIS GUY IS HORRIBLE! Bojarsky has no idea what structure or organization is, which is exactly what ACCT students need. He also changed the grading structure mid-class to SAT style penalization for getting questions wrong. Disgusting~ came to class with a poo-stain!
WORST TEACHER EVER. some days i thought he had to be kidding. very unhelpful and disorganized
No Comments
great class. learned alot. helpful if you emailed him.
The worst professor I ever had. I think that says it all. I got a B because I read the book not because I learned from him. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE RUN FORREST RUNNNNNNNN RUN FROM BOJARSKY
THE WORST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. get this.. 4 multiple choice tests (incld. final) doesnt know what multiple choise means!! you MUST show your work. work not shown = WRONG. if you get the answer right but your work doesnt match = wrong. don't guess.. if you guess = wrong. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? class avg was like 50%. if you were lucky!
He is a pretty bad teacher. Doesn't know what he is talking about at all. I had to read the book over and over to understand the concepts and i knew more then he did. 4 Multiple choice tests and you have to show your work. GO FIGURE! Avoid at all costs.
If you like good teachers, don't take Bojarsky.
He's a nice teacher, and pretty funny too. Although he's disorganized and class is pretty unpredictable. But overall I did like this class. Just attend, book is needed, read the chapters & complete the case studies. You'll do fine, cuz he curves. Also helps to make friends in this class too.
Have you ever seen the Dos Equis commercials? This is the most interesting man alive! He lives in a different state, drives a Porsche 911 Turbo, and acts like Dr. House. I don't care what other people think about his class. He is just an interesting person. I am taking his next class next semester. "Stay thirsty my friends..."
If you're ok with having lectures YELLED at you, then you'll survive. He's like a football coach teaching accounting. He's got the most unstructured lectures I've ever experienced, but he is EXCELLENT as a Winter session prof since it goes by so fast. It's suicide if you take him during a regular semester. Bring your book!
Don't take him. He flys in for class and is never there. He cut and copied from old test which would have made the class easy but would forget to change the answers so every question was none of the above. I was left confused and angry, I contacted the CBA dean and acct chair to complain. It was an awful class!
SCAM. waste of tuition. professor does minimal instructing. could be high.
Interesting: The Dr House of csulb. Not sure what my grade will be. You do exams, then re-do them at home. Hard to know what your getting in class. Cool guy though. Doesn't yell like others said. Honestly, kinda hard to rate!
Don't know how to describe him other that "wtf?!" Basically he doesn't teach and then, yells his lectures when the class doesn't get what he's talking about. I swear he makes up our grades as he goes. Definitely the worst class i've taken at csulb. Can't believe they let this guy teach with all the poor evals his students give.
This class was easy. Just make sure to study the first couple chapter well because they lay the foundation and the rest in easy. Don't need to go to class because he doesn't make since. You have to learn on your own so If you don't do that well then pick another teach. If you don't ever want to go to class then pick him.
Avoid, he doesn't teach until after the tests are taken. He rambles during class about one problem that doesn't even show up on the exams.
dont take him
AVOID (especially if you're an accounting major).
EASY, easy, EASY! He keeps testing on the same concepts from the first exam while only adding small amounts of new material. Only changes the numbers from test to test (same questions). I don't understand how people found him to be difficult. If you can't get an A, it's because you can't figure out how to study basic accounting concepts.
Misunderstood GENIUS!! The guy's hilarious. You need to listen to what he's saying, and ask questions. He's not rude, you just need to get to know him. Ask him to tell you a joke after class, have a short conversation with him, and you'll understand he's a neat guy. You will get an A if you listen to what he's teaching you.
HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! yells the entire lecture. makes TONS of mistakes that just confuse the hell out of you. weekly discussion board hw. 3 midterms, 1 final. EXTREMELY HARD. doesn't explain ANYTHING. gives you a chance to make up points on last test and final (600pts each). AVOID!!! take ANYONE but bojarsky.
I agree totally with everything the person below has said... Makes loads of mistakes and confuses the class. HW on discussion board, 3 mid, 1 final, att. mandatory, gives useless EC and some project at the end of the semester. Ridiculous amount of pts. C's are nothing to aim for, but it will be in this class... Txtbk costs $150. GL!
Overall, a very good teacher. I don't know why everyone criticizes him. He wants his students to learn and worry less about their grade. He will curve a lot if every student does bad and makes sure you do better on the next test.
Bojarsky is a horrible teacher. I took him during winter session so four hours a day with this fool made me want to cry. He DOESNT teach. He stands at the front of the class asking questions, expecting everyone to ALREADY UNDERSTAND the material. He needs to retire ASAP. DO NOT TAKE HIM if you even want a small chance of understanding this class.
COMMON SENSE? really, BJ? we can't just completely understand the material after one explanation. He doesn't know how to finish explaining something when he starts. It's irritating! I did not learn much from him. I REALLY do not recommend this guy if you really want to learn.
Absolutly HORRIBLE!! an accounting class should use formulas...not drawing a picture like he wants you to. Seriously this guy is a joke, do not take him.
SAVE YOURSELF. DONT TAKE HIM HE IS THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD.
horrible seriously just dont take him. i signed up thinking oh it cant be that bad because most other professors that were rated badly werent bad at all but this guy was worse. very unclear ...take anyone but him
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. We never know what was going to happen in class since he never went off the syllabus. He was changing his grading every day. The final was like none of the other test and had stuff we never even went over. He only got through half of the material, but we were tested on all of it. DONT TAKE HIM.
counselor apologized to me after signing me up w/him and i didnt know why but now i do. horrible teacher. he dont seem approachable but he is, and he's actually a nice guy. does a better job explaining things thru email than in person. curves alot. 4 test, 1 final, 1 proj due after finals. u do each test twice & it actually helps ur grade :)
The class is terrible! He starts takling about something and ends up talking about something else. you work with teams to do homework but have to post answers on beachboard. If you want to learn something don't take him. seriously don't take him. I got a D in his class.. the fisrt D ever in the four years i have in CSULB :(
Okay, so he is incomprehensible, and confusing, and you will feel like you kinda understand everything but then do horrible on the tests, and I don't exactly recommend him, BUT he does curve. I got all C's on the tests and got an A in the class. Just participate, ask questions and make yourself known to him. He is pretty interesting, I liked him.
Hard! really wants students to understand the material and know why things are done, so i HIGHLY recommend reading the book and understanding terms and T charts pay attention in class, participate, ask him questions after class and I recommend e-mailing him, he's very quick and descriptive. I passed with a B by reading and studying off tests :)
Bojarsky is an extremely poor teacher. He has no plan and constantly gets lost and makes mistakes and expects his students to still follow along. Mildly belligerent but very easy on grading. You will get more information by not attending his class then by going. Like in Billy Madison, you get dumber by listening to him.
I understand why he was the only professor available when I signed online to register. If you can, avoid taking him.
this class was just plain PAINFUL! he gets the test answers and questions incorrect often so he has to go back and correct the test that uve already taken. even accountants and accounting majors couldnt take his tests.
This class isn't suppose to be hard but the teacher made it that way. He's all over the place when he lectures. He makes many mistakes and is poor at teaching. Must read and learn from the textbook before coming to class in hope of understanding what he's teaching. Avoid this class unless you have no choice.
Alright so this professor is not so bad but he makes the class very hard to pass. In the end, I did well and got an A in class. As long as you stick to the class and dont drop it, you will most likely pass.Hes a bluffer! =]
Bojarsky is a classic. If you have half of a brain you will get an A or B in his class. Definitely keep up on the book and you are golden.
Though I missed a few lectures, the Prof was readily available, email or office, so that I kept up with the lectures and HW. Ended-up with an A. There was a method to his teaching whereby if you keep with the material, the class isn't too difficult.
do yourself a favor- DO NOT take this teacher, because his class is a waste of time! his 3 hour classes are boring, he just rambles about whatever, and he makes mistakes constantly on tests and during lectures. the only way you'll pass if you memorize the textbook for yourself and/or get a good tutor.
If you want to learn something about accounting, do not take him. if you want an easy class to pass with a C, take him. There is no homework besides reading, but that is useless. He makes a lot of mistakes on tests. There is a project in the ends, it took me 30 min. to do and got 100%. He does that so less people will get F's.
This teacher doesn't teach you everything in accounting; he teaches you what you need to know for your major. This saves your time. This teacher was very helpful and willing to stay late after class to explain all the questions you have. He helps students find easier ways to solve problems without memorizing formulas. Very patient teacher, take him!
It is pointless to go to lectures, he doesn't really know how to teach! He makes TONS of mistakes on tests. You pretty much have to read the book & teach yourself. Not too difficult though. Take him for easiness; not if you actually want to learn something
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Unless you are already an accounting expert, you will have a hard time in this class. He talks in circles a lot and doesn't explain things well AT ALL. In the end, the class as a whole is very confused. It's almost completely pointless going to class for this very reason.
This teacher is really frustrating, always changes what he just said, always gets his numbers wrong, always comes to class late when he tells us not to be late, says things like "the numbers don't matter". DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER TRUST ME
This teacher is not as horrible as everyne says. His first explanation of things are fine it's when others ask questions it starts to get confusing. Didn't use the book much. I leard the basics of acct and that's all I need. If your major depends on it I would take another teacher. He gives you all the points on most tests and the project.
Bojarsky is a great professor if you are willing to do the work! The people I hear complaining about him want to be told how to think. That's his style...he wants students to work out the problems using their minds. He gives everything you need to know and if you study, it's an easy grade.
He was such a horrible professor. He would say one thing during one of our classes, but then the next time we met with him, he would say that what he said was all wrong. He is very unclear as to what you should learn. He also doesn't use the textbook, so don't buy it. It's a waste of money.
Horrible. Unclear. Thoughts are all over the place. He will often yell in class when he has not provided the students with the information to have the answers he asks for. I really do not understand how he still has a job.
Went to class every day, only one that participated and did everything he asked (study wise) and still got a C.. His tests are completely different then what he teaches all year long. Like him as a person, but probably the worst professor I've ever taken. Avoid at all costs because you wont learn anything, you have to teach yourself.
Makes lectures seem very simple. He is always late to class,1st midterm didnt count second was online.he picked higher of 3 and 4 as the final, and everyone gets a really low score. I should not be getting this grade.
I heard ACCT300A is essential to doing well on the CPA exam... I learned absolutely nothing in Bojarski's class. I went to every class meeting except for one and I ended up with a C. First exam everyone got all points, second one is online I received an A. The last two "final exams" were tough I got 34% on them and ended up with a C in the class..
The key is to show up to every class and ask questions relevant to understanding accounting.
He is an extremely nice and approachable guy and he wants you to pass the class. I really like him as a person and he tries hard to get the class to understand the content. The problem is, the material was never easy in the first place and many students like myself get confused. You really need to study. 3 midterms, 1 final and 1 project.
He is very kind and the way he explained making me clearer in each lecture
Amazing professor that no one will ever have again. Have a great retirement prof!
