Tests come straight from in-class notes, except sometimes without warning he will throw in a test that's all on the textbook and that usually brings the class average down by a letter grade or three.
Very funny man! He keeps the classes attention! I love how he has everything on the overheads! Tests are ok... you have to study!!
Incredibly brilliant, humorous, insightful, organized. The best I've ever had!
He's very entertaining and makes class bearable. His tests are very easy too....if you come to class and copy notes straight from the overhead.
Very cool teacher. Makes class very entertaining. He is extremely funny. You have to study for tests but he tells you pretty much exactly what's on them.
extremely funny professor, one of the best lecturers i've had...keeps you interested in the material...his tests aren't too bad if you go to class regularly, take the notes off of the overhead, and study those
Honestly. worst experience I have had yet at UNCW. This is an into course..someone should fill this guy in on that...Tests are a joke...I know more about communication than this guy and I'm a business major
Funny
He is a great professor...He will try to do anything for you...like let you into a full class if you are a pre com major! Just make sure you study notes from the over head, the blue boxes in the text and check the website ALOT!He is really funny!!
Even though he is pretty funny, sometimes he seems like he has an attitude. He makes fun of freshmen quite often. If you have no interest in COM whatsoever try not to take the class.
The best experience I've had at UNCW. Brilliant, enlightened, and accessible. And I'm a Business Major!

Mr. B is hilarious, today he talked about THE B*tch Slap. The class is interesting & fairly easy. ALL boys should take it, he gives them advice about how to make it with the ladies. & he picks on everyone-my only advice: STUDY & Go to his website ALOT~
like high school again
Best guy ever
very funny and keeps you interested
great teacher! he's funny and makes class interesting. go to class, take notes, study for test, and go to his web cite and you'll do fine
very funny, but he's one of those professors that wants to front like they're really cool but if you ask for help you get one word answers. you'd think someone in the field of COM would be a better communicator.
The classes are ok, sometimes boring, he doesn't even take attendance so i don't know why i go. He isn't very helpful although he swears he is. The tests suck, he goes off on tangents and did i mention the tests suck!
Bollinger is one of the most entertaining teachers I've ever had, today alone he pretty much sang songs (Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Carol King, Marylin Manson) His test do require some studying, all you need are the online resources & it'll be a breeze.
Funny guy with a ton of good jokes, including the tests, which seem harder than they should be. Really need to study hard. All notes are on-line and no attendence policy. The class would be my favorite except for those tricky tests.
Always remember, fun does not mean easy. He does.
Dave is hilarious. He definately keeps your attention by making crazy jokes &doing impersonations. No attendance policy, but don't forget to go online &check out the notes. And as said before, fun does not mean easy!
Dave is FUNNY, and he'll make everyone want to be a COMM major. He's an awesome teacher, but his class isn't easy--you'll have to actually (gasp) STUDY. In the end, you'll have learned a lot and had a great teacher though!
Bollinger makes going to class easy. You'll laugh out loud everyday. His tests though are a lot tougher than the common sense material he goes over in class. Also, partner up with someone on buying the textbook he wrote. $80 for one assignment is absurd.
Thinks he's funny but the jokes get old really quickly. Don't go to him for help, he could care less about anyone but himself. Tests are tricky & class seems like a WASTE of time. Don't let this jerk fool you.
funny guy jokes get old won't help stuck up guy you either like him or hate him i dislike him
Dave is a trip....but you have to study for his tests because they are hard....class gets a little boring because he uses mostly the overhead and you also take lots of notes...
Smart, funny, but you better study! Bad comments are from people who expect an easy class. Treats you like an adult and expects you to act like one.
Bollinger is an ****. He picks favorites and only gives them good grades. He is also not funny. He thinks he is, but he is annoying and he is so ****. All he does is talk about himslef and picks favorites. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Oh, and he is also a terrible adviser.
Dave is a great teacher- you just have to put in the effort. Lectures are a little boring, but good info, especially if you're interested in the field. He's usually entertaining, and I like that he shows a personal side; funny guy.
He thinks hes funny but he's not at all. He tells stories that have nothing to do with what we are learning. There is no book to go by, and he sucks at making lecture notes. Tests are hard and have absolutely nothing to do with his lectures. He doesnt care about his students. Dont take him.
If you are looking for someone who is clear and gets to the point, this is NOT the fella for you. He is funny at times, but the lectures are not helpful once test times comes around, no book to reference if you need any questions answered. His lectures are stand up comedy routines, not test material.
Very talented professor with a sense of humor attached. Exams can be hard, but his lectures are very enteraining and holds some benefits for the students' humble minds. His style of teaching are very epic and exquisite. As humble and curious students, you should take his class with admiration.
Very perspective and enthusiastic professor. He has a great humor and a touch of whimsicality. After you do speeches in his class, he'll give a fair but a serious comments. He does not have favorites in this class, but treat his students with equal dignity. Take his class.
funny and easy to get along with. good teacher but makes his test way too hard for what information we were actually learning.
Interesting class. Dave does a good job of relating the material with entertaining experiences and analogies. Overall a good experience. I liked the class because he forces you to think; don't take what he says in class too literal. Try to focus and understand the concepts.
THERE IS ONLYE ONE THING I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS MR. BOLLINGER! HE IS ONE OF THE BEST DAMN PROFESSORS I HAVE EVER HAD, AND BECAUSE OF HIM, I KNOW KNOW WHAT I WANT TO DO IN MY LIFE, AND FOR THAT I THANK YOU DAVID!! YOU TRULY ARE AN GREAT PROFESSOR. AND NO HE DOESN'T NOT HAVE FAVORITES
He livens up class but reinforces the information with extremely harsh tests. He can be approachable and he seems to have some desire to see us succeed.
I think that he is an awesome professor. He doesn't talk down to his students and you can tell that he really loves his job. I think that his class is very entertaining because he is really funny. I definitly recommend taking this class
Dave was really funny, really interesting guy, but his tests were really difficult. Don't think you can slide by in this class and get an "A"
Dave is a great guy! He read these posts the first day of class and it was great to see that a professor has a sense of humor! Take this class but study and pay attention and you will do fine!
He's interesting in class, but his tests are freakin' hard. I didn't do well at in grades, however the class was pretty fun to go to. No attendance policy.
hilarious. love the class and think i might double major now that im taking his class. u wont want to skip his class. its FUN! and the tests arent bad.
Great sense of humor, will keep you coming back even though there is no attendence policy. If you actually go to class and listen you will do fine. I never did more than study my notes and made and A. He also does hilarious impersonations.
He is sooo funny! I would take another one of his classes in a hearbeat. He is not very helpful out side of class and a smartass when you ask him a question he thinks you should know the answer to. He does like to talk aobut himself but its alwasy funny. Take this class!!
Health com is fun and a great discussion class. Dave is hilarious and really cares about his students. Take his classes as much as possible. His only downfall is returning grades promptly.
Worst professor I ever had. Had him freshman year, and I'm now a grad student and I still stick to this rating. He was VERY unhelpful and not understanding when my mother went into the hospital and I missed an exam. He made the experience an absolutely horrible one. I would never take him again.
Superb professor! Has a great sense of humor, does not tolerate irresponsible whiny students. If you want to learn, take him!
Cares more about making a good joke than teaching a good lesson. I have never worked hard in his class and always got higher than a B. His teaching and his class are always a joke
all he cares about in class is making everybody laugh. i got nothing out of his lectures and if you go to him individually he will be a complete ass to you. decide for yourself
His sense of humor is what ties everything together and makes it understandable. Best of luck to those humorless souls who don't get it. I'd take as many as possible with this guy! He's AWESOME!!
I don't agree with the laughing and learning nothing comment previously mentioned. Yes, he is funny but I learned as well and didn't feel like class was lurching by. It was nice. He is a little short when going to see him in his office though.
He is extremely unwilling to help you. Says stuff in class and denies it later. I was a com major until I took this class. I could not tell you one thing I learned...but I still got a B. Hes arrogant and more interested in himself than the students. I do not reccomend him.
It's a big class so you have to pay attention. If you don't you end up holding the bag and blaming him for something you should have picked up in class. He's great, energetic, and is very accessible. I'd recommend him to anyone who wants to be challenged!
Amazing teacher! He actually makes you want to go to the lectures. He makes the material interesting and makes it easy to comprehend. Great attitude. Easy to get outside of class. 47SIS
Went To EVERY class, took all the notes, read the book, did the chapter reviews and tests, made a B but worked hard enough for an A. Tests were tricky.
his jokes get old... as well as his outfits...
He is awesome. Sometimes the class is more like going to a stand up comic. Plus, its required... cant go wrong. BUT, read the book.
He is very interesting, if you take his class you will not be bored, it's like going to a comedy show and he loves to pick on(not in a bad way)the students who walk out or come in late and definetly those that are shy or don't like to express they're opinion. if you disagree with him , you will not win the arguement. you MUST read the book.
Liberal? The guy is a Republican! Sounds like the previous student isn't gonna pass the class because he's never there!! He's awesome!
although he is so in love with himself and clearly bummed he did not become a rock star , Bollinger can clearly articulate anything and make the class interesting to be at. The class requires hard work, but is not at all hard to comprehend. Just put in the time and you will get the B.
this guy absolutely loves himself to the point its straight up annoying.. stopped going to class and just read the chapter the night before the test and did fine.. unless your in to a 50 minute poor stand up, go to class. not easy to reach outside of class either
read the chapter before you take the test and you'll do fine. hes not worth going to class. i havent gone to one lecture and i have a B+
It's a class for prep to the next gateway, COM 200. If you don't study and blow off the tests, you will be in trouble for the research methods. Take it from me!
The previous bad entries are just not true! He is EASY to get up with, and the class is NOT supposed to be a comedy club, so who cares if he's funny or not. I've had him for 2 other classes. He's a GENIUS!!
I wrote this teacher an e-mail with no response, showed up at his office hours and he wasn't even there!! oh yea--and he wrote those last two comments about himself!! obviously the man needs a life!! Don't take this class if you don't have to!!!
The class isn't bad. He's entertaining enough, ad his stories are applicable to whatever he is teaching. I enjoy the class. And, he's very friendly. One thing that you will rely on, if given the opportunity, is the study guides. Very helpful.
probably the best professor i have ever had the privilage of being taught by. he makes what seems like an uninteresting subject interesting. if you get a chance to take any of his classes i highly recommend that you take it!
He's hillarious and he always puts study guides up on what to know for tests. He makes a huge lecture class interesting. I wouldn't have done as good in the course if he hadn't taught it.
Hey! I'm ALWAYS in my office during my posted office hours BONEHEAD. Unless I have a doc's appointment, then there's a sign on my door. And sometimes emails get skipped, my bad. Geez.
I love this class! It is always fun and the teacher is very funny! I like his jokes! Its a good class to take, but make sure you go to class and read the book!
Mr. Bollinger is a trip! You need to go to class, but it's fun so it's not a hard task. Prepare to be entertained. The articles help your grade, so don't complain about them. and THe study guides help a LOT.
A pretty easy A, but only if you attend class and print out the slides for class each day. Great guy, hilarious too.
If you do what he asks, you will be fine. I kind of just did a lazy job and made a B and I know I could have made an A. Didn't care too much for the class but for being required, it is not bad.
Bollinger is by far the best teacher I have had at UNCW...i took COM 105 with him and now im in COM 341 and COM 225 with him, he is hilarious and makes going to class fun even at 8am Monday Wednesday Friday (yes that is possible)...The work isn't impossible just do what he says and make an effort
Dr. Bollinger is by far the best teacher I have had in the Communication Studies Dept. Not only is he a great instructor he is also Hilarious...waking up for an 8am class with him is POSSIBLE because its like Comedy hour..If you follow his instructions and study you will do good! He is also very understanding of personal problems. I LOVE HIM!
Yeah, you aren't funny Bollinger. You also were not nice when I tried to meet you and shake your hand. You looked disgusted. Your class is easy to sit through and much of the material is common sense. I'll give you that. But I didn't learn anything. The comm department sucks because so many people are in it. Not enough classes.
I enjoyed this class because we didnt have to stress about grades so much. We simply discussed health matters. This was a good way to learn. His stories along with the class' anecdotes helped to clarify a lot. I really enjoyed it.
Well at least here's one person who has enough sense to get out while they're still ahead. Of course if he/she had bothered to check out the high popularity of the dept. BEFORE taking the class then he/she coulda saved some cash! It's nice to be loved!! Whatta prune!
MOST AMAZING TEACHER EVER! made me decide to become a COM major. sat in front row and felt like it was a stand up comedy. great guy, really cares about you and wants to help you make things work! go get help if you need it or just to chill with Dr. B! definitely recommend!
Very nice guy, very funny! I enjoyed his class a lot! Very recommended!!!!
Well I enjoyed him for Com 105, and then over break I e-mailed him about adding his 225 class and he told me that it was full..Well he added two extra students to his class. If you say no to one, you should say it to all!
Hey c'mon! You quit too early! Besides, 5 bucks is five bucks!
"C'mon" is spelled C-O-M-E O-N
Bollinger is such a good teacher and he is hilarious! Everyday in class he told a new joke. If you get a hold of previous test, you cant go wrong! I really enjoyed this class
he was an awful teacher and he picks his favorites
Favorites? Wow, this person is insecure. Maybe if they had tried harder, showed up for class, and done better work, then maybe they wouldn't feel so left out. Oh well....
Mr Bollinger is the funniest professor I have had! He makes class so much fun and I loved going. He does funny voices and by the time you leave class your face will hurt from laughing so much. The test are a little hard but if you study and make an effort you will do just fine. Take him for all the communications classes you can!!
Took over summer: read chapters, print out power points to follow along, and know how to use terms as examples. Pro. Bollinger is great!
great teacher with a part time comedy act
A 75 minute class that could easily be stripped down to 20-30 minutes if the impromptu comedy and anecdotes were not there. I understand that you gotta capture kids' attention, but it's really frustrating to know that instead of listening to sophomoric jokes, I could be working on one of my many term papers at the library.
Sophmoric? This guy is right on with his insight. He's taught this class for several years and won awards! My guess is this kid will be a wash-out; this class weeds out the major wannabees.
Probably the best prof in the dept. Class is a challenge but plenty of chances to make a decent grade. Keeps it light, well worth it.
easy class for majors. tests are simple, no studying required. clickers are a waste of money seeing as he used them maybe 2 times the whole semester. rarely need textbooks. articles that are required def boost your grade.
had him a few times. he is enjoyable in his early classes, but loses his humor in the upper level classes. if that's your thing, go for it.
He has been the greatest teacher I have had on UNCW campus. He is so funny and his lectures are well organized. I will definitely take any of his classes!
I've had him for a couple of upper level classes, now. Not really as great as I remembered him being in 105. But as long as you come to class and do the readings, you should be fine.
Fun teacher, didn't really do much. It's mandatory for all athletes, might as well have a fun teacher for a useless class. never had to go to any events for book. tests easy if you study. final exam piece of cake
So, I was going to rate Bollinger, but after reading some of the other comments, I am 99% sure that Bollinger wrote most of the comments on here himself. I am sure he would not be so highly rated if the ratings actually came from students.
He's a really funny guy. Unlike most professors, I liked listening to his stories. He doesn't forget to teach, though. Not a very high pressure class.
I really like Bollinger. He is hilarious, and always tells really funny stories about his childhood. His class was very easy, and there are only a few short projects throughout the semester. No exams. He gets to know everyone and is constantly joking around. I'm not sure how his more serious classes are, but health com was a breeze.
VERY slow grader, doesn't budge on deadlines, kind of lazy.
Agreed on the slow grading - but overall an easygoing class. Put forth some effort and you'll probably do fine. Likes to talk a lot about his budding acting career...and politics.
I took the honors public speaking with Dr. Bollinger. It was a great class. He focuses on mostly the experience of being in front of people while speaking. The class was rather laid back and very fun. He makes you want to go to class!
Cool guy, but loves to talk about himself. You'll give two speeches to the class, and that's all the work you will do all semester. Take him.
His Hon public speaking class is really chill but he doesn't seem to really have any kind of plan. We only did 2 speeches which was actually kind of frustrating since I took this class to get better at public speaking. You can only learn so much from his lectures but most of it is talking about random stuff which makes the class fun.
Bollinger is the man! His class has been by far one of my favorites. He keeps things interesting by not focusing on all the non-sense. The conspiracy assignment was so much fun. I worked hard on the exams and papers, so I made a great grade. Turns out you really do get what you earn! I'd take him again
Bollinger is a great professor. You never have a boring class with him. He always tries to relate his teaching back to real life examples which keeps it interesting. I am definitely looking into taking COM 301 with him!
Really really be ready to write a lot in this class. The good news is he lets you choose your topics, most of the time.
Definitely one of my favorite teachers ever. Really great, easy going guy, and I actually learned a lot from him. The assignments were relevant and we were always given enough time to do them so that even the bigger ones weren't That stressful. If I wasn't graduating I'd definitely try to take him again
You don't have class every day. He puts you in groups and then you work with your group and meet with them when you all can. You only have two grades in the class- the 1st presentation and the 2nd presentation. He doesn't really "teach" he just assigns and then gives feedback. Its basically a public speaking class.
One of the best. His lectures are absolutely hilarious and if you show up it is pretty much an absolute pass.. I want to take so many more classes just to have him as a professor again.
I really enjoy his lectures and his sense of humor that he brings into his work.
Dr. Bollinger is good at what he does and is a cool person to be taught by in a class. He always add humor, which I love, and makes class something to look forward to instead of trying to avoid. He gave online exams which made it easier to make a good grade on the exam. Definitely recommend him.
Class isn't entirely necessary, although you can lose points by not being there for clicker quizzes. All exams are online and pretty straight forward. He is a super nice guy, and has some funny stuff to say, but is pretty much always off topic. Super easy A.
Funniest professor ever! Attendance is not taken all the time. Test are online. No cumulative test. Most of the answers come from the study guide. Lectures are interesting and fun. I've never gotten sleepy in his class. My class had 200 kids so there was more leeway but he's great for COM 105.
Professor Bollinger is awesome. He is one of the only professors who made it possible for me to stay awake during an 8 AM class during my four years of college. He always gives feedback as needed and is very understanding. The coursework is not difficult if you attend class and pay attention. Would recommend to anyone. He deserves major respect
Mr. Bollinger's class was a very clear and easy course. Attendance was optional and if you came to class, you really did not need the book. His lectures were hilarious, and I was able to get away with an A in his course.
Good professor, he's funny and knows what he's talking about when it comes to public speaking. My only critique would be that he changes his mind a lot and is not consistent. You could've done something exactly how he told you to do it and it would be perfect one day, but wrong the next. Also he urges buying a textbook but only used it once.
Love this professor!!! Favorite professor I've had in college! Definitely recommend!
By far the funniest professor I have ever had. His class is super easy, as long as you keep up with the online assignments. Tests are online, so there's no class on exam days, but they can be a bit hard considering the head of the COM department writes them, not Bollinger. This is a lecture you'll actually enjoy going to!
He's super funny but gets off topic very easily so you don't do much learning. My only complaints is that he's kinda unorganized with his assignments. As long as you stay on top of your learnsmarts and exams you should be fine. Attendance isn't mandatory but you miss out on clicker points if you skip.
THIS GUY IS HILARIOUS. Wish I could take him again, but sadly I only needed one COM class. You do have to stay on top of your homework and make sure it is transferred to BlackBoard correctly. Tests are online. Great class!
Dave is a really great professor. He's really funny, and I actually enjoyed going to class. The homework and tests are online, and they're pretty easy. He also cancels class a lot. As long as you do your homework and take the tests, it will be an easy A. He does use clickers for attendance points, but they don't count for a lot. Best professor ever
This man loves himself and thinks he's Gods gift to the world. He gets off on trying to make example of students. His authority has gone to his head.
He makes his students laugh, he treats them like adults, and he engages the material in a way that makes ancient rhetorical theory seem modern and fun. His background in acting means that he sometimes impersonates the theorists or students. Hate 8am classes but took this at 8 to have him as a prof again. Take Bollinger! Boring class, great teacher.
He tries to be funny but it is usually at the expense of the students. He spends class time going on about his political opinions and his lectures are opinionated too. He's a nice guy but you won't learn much if someone gets him off topic and that's easy to do.
Best professor I've had here at UNCW. This man will give you tough papers however will give you ample time to complete them. His life lessons will stay with me forever.
Bollinger is the man. Period. Don't skip out on taking any of his classes you'll regret it. I've already took two of his other classes and I just signed up to be in his capstone. Bollinger all the way son.
this was honors com101. he's funny and all but its so hard to figure out what he wants from speeches bc it changes every day, roasts people way too much especially since it's everyone's first time public speaking, also gave me like literally no productive feedback lol i hated this class but if you have natural ability you'll probably be fine
Bollinger is the funniest professor on campus, and a great professor in general! Due to the hurricane we only had a few grades in the gradebook, but he was really good about not overloading / being harsh with grades. He cares about his students and is good about emailing back quickly or setting up meetings. Took this as an Honors course.
Bollinger is a great guy and is so funny. He cancels class often which is nice. His class is pretty easy and does not require much work. He was new to teaching this course so not sure how comparable the workload is to his other courses. Really enjoyed his class and would definitely take him again.
This class: Come in listen to story hour- mostly unrelated and him poking fun at students. We rarely got thru a power point, he did not use canvas or blackboard for grading. You had to print each paper assigned. You got your papers back whenever. Class was cancelled a lot, so there is that. I passed onto the next.
Great professor and he genuinely cares about students. If you come to him with questions or concerned whether they are related to the class or not he will do what he can to help. Had him for multiple classes and always a great experience
Bollinger was my fave professor. I had him for 3 classes. He is funny, kind, and listens to his students. Yes, you might be poked fun at during class, but everyone is. It is lighthearted. He is one of the only professors that I felt really tried to get to know me and genuinely cared about my success. Please take a class of his if you can.
Extremely funny and engaging during class, however as soon as the time's up his personality changes and he becomes cranky, inaccessible, and intimidating. Never had to email a professor so much (would only respond 50% of the time). You will have to write PAGES in this class, but he barely even reads your essays--just slaps a basic grade on them.
Dave may be a trickster god posing as a professor, but he's doing a wonderful job. He keeps class engaging and relates discussions to current topics. Our class was almost entirely discussion-based. He is very accessible outside of class and cares about his students. He can be confusing at times but with the best intentions, and will always clarify.
Dave is caring about his students but also knows they aren't children, especially in the honors program. Take him if you don't want to do mindless work but still have someone who cares about what you need. He can be odd but in the best way possible. Don't take him if you're a snitch though, the rest of us don't want pointless work.
He does not provide good or if any feedback and just slaps a grade on assignments so I don't feel like I'm actually learning anything from him. He is super vague and condescending f your reach out to him for help and doesn't even end up addressing any of the questions. Class itself is pretty easy but him as a teacher is frustrating.
He is amazing and does not want to give you anything lower than an A. You simply had to show up on zooms to just talk to everyone and be informed of what was coming within the week. Very simple work, mostly just busy work, but not terrible work.
He was my advisor. Never replied to emails about me desperately asking for help and advice. Literally had to reach out to a whole different department to get an actual answer. Most of these Com faulty members are rude, helpless people who dont care about students unless they know you first hand.
I drowned in papers in this class. Take 355 if you enjoy/are good at writing, otherwise avoid. Would only take Bollinger again due to his humor and him being lenient in grading toward the end
If youre into philosophy and writing a 20 page paper about conspiracy theories, this class is for you. The paper honestly wasnt hard to do, it was interesting, but be prepared to have no feedback given on your work. It can be frustrating but Bollinger is a nice and funny guy so its hard to stay mad at him.
Bollinger is a respected professor I have had a few times now. The reason he is great is because he knows what he is talking about and is passionate about what he teaches. This class is all paper writing and included a 20 page conspiracy theory paper that I actually enjoyed writing. Textbook is super helpful for take home exams!
As long as you format your papers exactly like the formats he puts on canvas you will do fine. He is very particular about the formats of speeches. Also make sure you do not read your speech to the class, make sure you look at the class while you talk. He is a very laid back teacher and likes to tell stories that take up entire class periods!
We had a few big assignments that seem very daunting, but he is such an easy grader you will do well as long as you put in effort. Class is only lecture, but they are always very fun and he tells a lot of stories that relate material to the real world. He works hard to get to know his students. Cancels class often!!
Awesome teacher!! Go in with your mind open and you'll be good. A lot of papers though, so be prepared. His attendance was pretty laid back, he gets that stuff happens and you might need an extra absence here or there. Cool dude, and so entertaining.
Had a lot of fun in this class. Such a funny person. Not a lot of work and a lot of interesting discussion that may actually change your world view on a lot of ideas you may already be familiar with.
AWESOME PROFESSOR! if you show up to class, don't get behind on papers you will do just fine. He is funny, with a very dry sense of humor. no tests or final or homework. Just be ready to write alot!!
Bollinger is a great professor for this class, there are several papers that he gives very clear directions and I found them not that difficult to complete at all. There is also a 20-page conspiracy paper, which sounds difficult but trust me it was not. Sometimes lectures can drag on, but overall solid. He also lets class out early a lot.
Prof Bollinger is amazing. I've had him for two com courses and would love to take more with him in the future.
Took him for com220 but that wasn't an option because he doesn't usually teach this course. If you can, do it. Funny professor, easy course.
Very chill guy. Sometimes he can come off the wrong way. Really easy class if you just show up.
Most of the class was held online, online HW and tests. If I was a COM major I would try to get him for all my classes. This was an intro class so it was broad info but his lectures directly correlate with HW and tests. He did call attendance each class but not for a grade.
Bollinger is an engaging lecturer who keeps classes fun, though he can be inaccessible at times. Be prepared for lots of writing assignments, but use resources like unstuck AI to streamline your study process. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding course.
He's funny sometimes but he's honestly so rude. He will pick people in the beginning of the year to pick on and then continuously pick on them for the entire semester. Very easy teacher but not worth the emotional and mental distress he puts you through. Its his last year teaching and you can clearly tell. He's unclear, unresponsive, and petty.
bullied my friend and gets off on pissing people off. he's weird and just genuinely a bad time. DONT TAKE if you care about your mental health.
