Dave Bourgeois is one of the best professors at Saint Mary's University. He is an excellent professor who makes the material interesting, adding his touch of sarcastic humour. Would definately consider taking another class with him.

Dave is an awesome teacher. His sense of humour makes the lectures extremely interesting and his methods of incorporating real life examples into the source material is a great learning strategy. He's extremely friendly and helpful inside and outside of class, the best prof I've had so far.

Dave is not only a very approachable teacher and is able to make the material interesting, but he is extremely funny and good looking to boot!!

He is super funny which makes class interesting, but yet he can still relate his jokes to the material. bring a pencil to the exam lol!! honestly people lol. Its not so much that the material is easy it is how he teaches it.

Good prof. Hilarious at times during lecture, but very boring sometimes too. An easy class to skip, just read the assigned chapters for the tests and youre good to go. Gives out bonus points too! Interesting class, choose this prof if you can!!

Yet another awesome prof at SMU. Not only was the course fairly interesting, he mansaged to keep most of us awake at 5pm when we all wanted to go home. Definitely taking his 250 course now.

Love this class!...Did well on everything, but my paper. Because the exam was sooo easy I still ended up with an A-. Read the chapters before class makes everything that much easier. Really great guy and his examples relate to everyday life which makes it easy to remember stuff. Taking his PSY 260 class and I can't wait.

I loved this class. Even at 830AM on a Monday I would show up. He really knows his stuff and makes it interesting for his students. If you show up and pay attention to his examples you will do really well.

Course has 3 tests and no final exam. The three tests are quick easy if you study the notes on p:drive. He also has two papers, very easy, GREAT way to boost your mark. This course is an easy A.

Pretty interesting material, lectures are better; funny and 'down to earth' prof. Good assignments, tests are not too difficult; he gives appropriate questions to coincide with the amount of work.

This was my 1st Psyc class and it was 8:30 in the morning and I loved it! He was so funny and made it very interesting! I recommend him. There is only 3 test and 2 little papers. He knows what he is talking about and the notes are on the p drive.

This prof is an awesome dude! Very chill and easygoing. Makes class actually worth going to. Knows pretty much everything psych, and he is really good at making the material easy to understand. Hes is also a very easy marker, and is always finding ways to hand out marks. I would highly suggest him for a prof.

Besides for thinking his name was steve, for the whole time it was an Great class. The Material seems easy, but there's just alot to put into perspective. There were only 3 exams, which was great. But if you are one that crams and studies the weekend before, you're going to need to do more. Go to class, and do bonus points. They will save you.

I LOVE this guy! He goes over the notes in class very well and he's funny. Class is a little boring sometimes but because of the material. His tests are fair, if you read the text book and go over the notes you'll ace the exams. Overall awesome prof, recommend everyone take him at least once.

His class is always enteraining and he is a pretty funny guy. His lectures drag on at times but he finds ways to make you get through him. His tests are fairly easy and never any surprises at all. A great first year class for anyone and you gain alot from it.

I took A&P last year and found the classes hilarious, but the text was absolute crap, not very clear and not alot to read, which you think would be great, but when the first test came I found it super hard and got a crappy mark. His powerpoints don't have alot of info either, just funny pics. Good class, just not a bird course.

great prof, very funny and helpfull. tests are all multiple choice questions; which can be a little tricky and unclear. You have to go to class if you want an easy 20% on your mark since very easy/small assignments are done on occasion in class (as long as you do them you get 100)

This class is really good and easy, you can get an easy A if you study reasonably. He is very funny and but it kinda gets old he losses about half the class in the middle of the course. And the class lacks interaction. If u hate interacting then this is a excellent course. If you like it well this class is still good.

go to class its worth 10% of your grade. He gives a LOT of examples. definitly entertaining!! his test are 3 worth 30% and not overly easy. one of the Best profs I've had and I recommend him for intro and social behavior!

One of the best profs at SMU. Very clear with explanations and he makes them funny. Sometimes he puts a few too many examples for one concept in his lecture but that is better than not enough. Final exam was quite much harder than the midterms. I strongly recommend taking his class.

Good professor, very funny, makes the class interactive and interesting. He gives points for attending class, the midterms/exams are all multiple choice and 3 or 4 short answer, there's easy bonus points to earn during the year as well. The only thing is that he marks the short answer questions pretty hard and won't clarify even if you visit him.

Great guy. Good lectures even with dry material. Will do his best to help you. Takes the subject seriously and you have to put some effort into the course. Definitely not a free ride, if that's what you're looking for. Fair marker, fair exams, horrible text. Can be a tough course but he makes it a great classroom experience.

Bourgeois is a great prof but you have to go to his classes. I find we didn't use the text but it is helpful to have for studying for exams.

Overall great prof, funny, interesting... there's not much this guy is lacking. You gotta study though, all I did was read his slides over and over a couple of days prior to the tests and I aced them.

If you want a class that is fairly easy and will give you a good laugh, you need to have this guy as your professor! I make sure I go to these classes just because of how much fun I have! The class always looks full!

Hilarious guy. Really helpful and friendly as well. Explains everything in a crystal clear fashion. Easy class. He sometimes teaches different material than is in the book, but just go over his powerpoint slides and you'll do fine. Also gives a few hints as to what questions are going to be on the exams. This guy is a BOSS. He is funny, easy going, intelligent, and manages to convey his point and the material bang on every class with solid examples. Also he plays music before every class and his taste is pretty good.

This guy is the man. All you gotta do is go to every class, take lots of notes, memorize his powerpoints and you'll get at least a B. If you want an A, read the book and go to psyc studies. Take all courses taught by him.

He's a hard marker! But his classes are funny, he made it worth getting up at 8:30 on mondays. Has a lot of real life explanations. You'll do well in the course if you put in at least a little effort, and sign up for the bonus system! You can get 5 bonus points towards your final average for like 2 hours of work! Textbook not really needed, save your dough, he'll tell you he's egotistical and promotes his own lectures, :-) Always plays music at the beginning of class and is easily approachable. Chance at 5% extra, SONA or review paper. Exams are a cinch, even if you didn't study you'd prob. get at least a 50%

He is an amazing professor! He is very helpful and very clear on what is going to be on the exams, and he also focuses his exams on in-class material, the text helps for further explanation, but the majority of what is on the exams you can learn from just going to class. Dr. Bourgeois is a hilarious prof! Uses really good examples to make you understand what he means. Textbook was a good reference book, however his explanations and notes are what you need to pass! Ask questions, and do the bonus assignments! Definitely recommended!

I always get the vibe that Prof. Bourgeois is, quite simply, a good guy. He's friendly, laid-back, quiet (yet hilarious), and I always enjoy his lectures. Dr. Bourgeois is by far the funniest man I've ever had in my academic career. His classes are interesting enough, attending lectures don't feel like a drag. His exams are not difficult persay, but they do cover all of the content covered in class - so make sure you study (the textbook helps)

Professor Bourgeois is HILARIOUS and makes a huge class feel small. I wouldn't say attendance is mandatory but you're missing out if you don't go. Professor Bourgeois is a beautiful person. Absolutely hilarious. He explains material extremely well and doesn't make you focus on unnecessary information in the slides. What he says during the lectures is usually what goes on the tests. He's a rare breed of professor that actually teaches you *GASP*. Definitely take classes with this man.

He's a fun guy, but you only cover topics superficially and quickly. I recommend going to him directly to understand what he wants for written assignments, so you are not confused with a bad grade. Tests are very easy, but very vague. This is just generally a very vague course, remember terms and examples (slides and class). I prefer more depth.

David is the funniest prof out there!! His exams consist of multiple choices and about 2-3 questions, I personally never used the book & attended all the classes. He is super accessible outside class. He always makes time for his students. He also uses a lot of relatable jokes/memes. WE LOVE DAVE.

David is THE MAN. If you get the chance to take a class by him DO IT. He is hilarious and entertaining. He gives great examples and explains the information very well. He makes you want to attend his lectures. If you are talking or on your phone, he will call you out. And gives random in-class participation assignments so go to class. He's a gem!

Going to his class is like going to a comedy show, you are engaged at all times, he is extremely clear when explaining concepts and makes lectures worth a while. I never had to use the textbook in this class as the exams are based on the in-class teachings. He does give out random in-class assignments that count for attendance. MAD LOVE FOR DAVE!!

Dr. Bourgeois is an amazing prof. He tests only on the material he covers in class (you dont need the textbook) and although you probably don't have to go, he gives you extra credit for showing up by taking little quizzes that are really just surveys. Going to his class is beneficial because his style of teaching makes you remember the content.

He gives clear explanations to the material, and always adds information to the slides as hes talking, so go to class and take notes on what he says. The only downside is that he doesnt give a schedule for the semester so you dont know when certain topics will be taught.

Amazing lectures, they are always funny, one of my favourite classes, the tests are really hard so you have to study a lot and know the material inside and out, not just enough to use common sense. But are ways to get bonus points.The textbook is optional and he often ends early or cancels class if he taught all the material for that section.

Amazing professor. Lectures are funny and memorable. How to do well in this course: attendance and paying attention. Sometimes a PowerPoint slide has images without words, so if you skip class and rely on PowerPoint slides, you may not survive the tests. Whatever is mentioned and covered in class will likely be on the test.

AMAZING PROF! Took this course online asynchronous but I wish it was in person because of how engaging his lectures were. You can get up to 5% bonus marks, and he scales your tests where your best mark is worth the most and vice versa for worst mark. Sets you up to succeed, no surprises on the exams. Would love to take a course with him again.

Dave is amazing, I can see why everyone loves him so much. He gives off an intimidating aura at first, but he is a really great dude. this was hands down my favorite professor at smu. the class was online and consisted of mini assignments and tests that took you max a hr to do. each assignment got a 100 and gave good feedback. he's also super nice, I emailed him because I had never gotten a good grade on an exam and he was nice n happy for me. overall 10/10 guy and 10/10 class
