Be prepared to work hard if you want to excel in this course. Dr. Bray explains material well and is available for outside help if needed. Stresses professionalism. Be on time and attentive! I really enjoyed his class and learned a lot.
This class is overall easy. However, one must put in effort. Make sure to do the hw problems and study the notes. He gives five quizzes and four tests, which are all multiple choice. He is ready and willing to help students trying to understand. His teaching style is pretty straight forward. Just do the work and put in effort and you'll be fine.
Dr. Bray does a good job staying on topic and covering the materials. He does not give projects, which is a huge plus for me. Still, he does give 4 exams, so the class is hardly a cakewalk. Come to every class, and be prepared to spend time outside of class studying the material and you'll do fine.
Prof Bray is a knowledgeable professor and an expert in the field of Finance. If you enjoy learning Finance, there is no better professor at KSU. I have found Investment Analysis to be one of my favorite courses in the MBA program. Although the text is a little expensive, it is well crafted and you will find it an invaluable tool for many years.
Great prof and great material. You can easily make A in his class if you spend time reviewing his slides and problems.Exams multiple choice questions and pretty straightforward.
Great guy. He is very accommodating if you attend classes and participate. I never bought the book and just used the 8'x5' note card he allows and got an A. He tries to come off as a sarcastic person but he is actually very kind and will meet with you about any topic if you ask. Go Gators.
Good professor, down to earth. Has a take no crap attitude, but likes to have a couple of laughs during class too.
I really could care less about finance before this class but I actually understood the material after he taught it and I was able to use it outside of class. He is a great teacher who I would recommend to anyone.
He's definitely not boring, which is great because finance is not my favorite. We had quizzes and tests which made up our grades. He let's you make a note card you can use on exams which is extremely helpful. Pay attention in class and you will know everything you need. I recommend him. He's a cool guy!
Dr. Bray is very knowledgeable in finance and very fair with his student. He sets up the expectations right from the beginning of the semester to ensure there are no surprises. He will provide additional support and if needed will consider accommodations. He brings to class current real life examples, which makes it more interesting.
Bray is a very cool, no bull kinda guy. Don't listen to the last comment, paying attention in class will not suffice. This class can be tough. Do a lot of reading/studying the text on your own time. I made an A and really enjoyed the class and his style. The test averages very generally too low for his liking so he curved them. I highly recommend.
One of the best teachers I've had at Kennesaw. I can definitely say I learned more in this class than any other upper level fiance class. Down to earth and keeps class interesting. Attend class and be on time if you want all the professionalism points. 4 test(25 multiple choice) and 5 quizzes. Tests are all curved to bring the avg up to a mid C.
Great professor who lays out what he expects from students from the get-go. He doesn't tolerate unprofessionalism, which includes talking in class and using cellphones. He explains things thoroughly and is very helpful outside of class. Plus he's pretty good looking and his biceps help distract from such boring course material.
i never write reviews for professors but i just had to write one for dr. bray. he is a great professor who gets right down to the point. he also gives real life examples so it's applicable to our own lives. i hate, hate, HATE, finance, but he somehow managed to change my views on that with this course. i highly recommend taking him, he's awesome!
Fantastic professor! Makes the class enjoyable ? just show up and he will teach you everything you will need for the exams/quizzes and you will pass.
Great Professor! Easy going! Really Helpful! I recommend this class to all the students who will take FIN 3100.
GREAT TEACHER I like finance a lot considering it's my major and he made me like it even more. Very helpful and really down to earth. The class was pretty tough but definitely manageable! Go over the slides, read a little of book, go to class and you'll get an A. TAKE HIM
Great teacher!!! Very straight forward, no BS kind of guy. I wouldn't say he is the most approachable guy but he is very clear in class so it doesn't matter. If you get an 89.99999 it's a B, no exceptions (which is fair). He works hard to make a boring subject tolerable and leans heavily on the calculator.
His class is what you make of it. You can get an A with light to moderate work.
He is a very cool guy, young, and sometimes even funny. However, he tries to hard to be a "frat boy". That is why he is hard to deal with and 0 lenient. I do recommend him just because he makes it interesting other wise i wouldn't tell you to give him a shoot.
Very straight forward..Make sure you do the chapter problems and pay attention in class and you will do fine.. No group projects which is a plus...
Funny guy, keeps class interesting. 5 quizzes and 5 tests, material is extremely easy as long as you review his powerpoints and do the problems.
I agree with others that have rated before me. He is awesome, funny, straightforward and enthusiastic. I enjoyed him very much, and learned a lot from him. He is always out there if you need any kind of help. He is more like a friend rather than teacher. I suggest all the student of finance to take him.
Dr. Bray is an excellent teacher who loves finance. He provides good study material so an A is not out of the question. Make sure you go to class. If you are offended by pg-13 language I don't recommend him.
Bray is very fair. If you disrupt his class, he will ask you to leave, plain and simple. He will not tolerate your BS in class. However, if you behave and pay attention, you will actually learn something and earn yourself an A. His sense of humor is a little twisted, but it makes the dry nature of the class more palatable!
Dr. Bray is an excellent professor. Having never had a Finance class before - I didn't know how would I fair. Dr. Bray makes the materail engaging and I found myself to be more than sucessful. But YOU MUST STUDY. Dr. Bray's class structure is straight forward - what he tells you the first class of the semester holds true throughout the semester.
Dr. Bray will kill you, if you don't pay attention. He's a great guy and his class is actually fun. Pay attention and you'll do fine. Give him BS and you'll leave. The guy knows what he's doing, most of the time. Give him a lottery ticket and you might be liked more. Take the class!
If you want an easy A, Do Not Take this class. However, if you wanna learn a good deal about Invesment I definitely recomend the class. Attend all classes so you don't fall behind and you get your 3pts. Make Good use of Exam Sheet. Hint:type your sheet with small fonts; must like math in order to enjoy class, otherwise you will be misserable.
Direct. To the point. Clear about expectations. Easy to understand grading system. No group project. Study hard for the tests and don't act like a fool and you should do well. What's not to like? Easily the best professor I have had at KSU.
Dr. Bray is a great professor! He will teach you everything you need to know. Tests fluctuate in difficulty. Quizzes are easy. Plus, he is extremely good looking. Take him!
Great Prof. Lectures are engaging. Very knowledgeable. Tests were curved...quizzes weren't that bad. 89.9 is a B so you have to earn an A to get it.
He was enthusiastic and explained the material in a clear, thorough way. He was direct and straight to the point and related the class material to the real world of finance and not just theories. The lectures and class material was very interesting to listen to as well. Learned alot and thought that the prof. and class were overall excellant.
He was clear, direct and to the point. The class material was interesting and informative. I liked how he related the material to the real world of finance and not just useless theories. I learned alot about finance and thought that both the class and prof. were excellant!
Difficult class and concepts. Doesn't explain too well and moves pretty quickly. Does allow have a sheet, one side, as a cheat sheet on the exam. I never understood what was going on. I'd just do the cheat sheet, run through the problems the night before an exam, and cross my fingers. I pulled out with an A.
This was my second to last Fin class and I have seen all. The best finance professor at KSU. He is a no nonsense kind of professor but overall fair. Great sense of humor and some interesting life stories or moments happen to be shared with class, which makes this heavy class easy to attend. Do not kid yourself, you have to study hard for an A.
Dr Bray keeps his lectures interesting for a relatively dry subject. Not an easy A, but completely possible with a little work. Allows a cheat sheet on the tests. Also very easy on the eyes.
Difficult class but he makes it fun. He ll try to scare you the first day, but he's a very intelligent guy with a good sense of humor. Hes always available if you need help. I went to his office a lot for help. And he's very attractive which many of the girls enjoyed in the class.
Professor Bray doesn't want to help. He seems to teach just for the paycheck. If you don't understand a concept, too bad. Be careful!!!
Bray gets some kind of enjoyment from failing people. He is extremely intimidating. All lectures are completely based off of PowerPoint. So dry. Do whatever you can to find another professor. The extra credit and cheat sheets mean nothing if you don't understand the material.
The person beneath me is wrong. #1: There is no extra credit. Bray knows what he his talking about, and teaches you to use the calculator, unlike some professors. To the person beneath me: Crack is WACC.
As good as it gets. He is the most structured, organized, and to the point guy. Follows syllabus to the T. I will take another class with him. Very fair. If ppl are bashing him its cuz they aren't studying and want free A. For exam do practice problems and read text. For quiz review ppt. And give free points for attendance. Thorough professional.
Anyone who says an A in this course isn't attainable is dead wrong. It is a lot of work but if you put the time into it you will be fine. Demanding course but it is an upper level course after all. Learned more here than in any other class. Dr. Bray is a fantastic professor.
Very willing to help if you are struggling. He can come off as a bit brash but it is pretty amusing and helps to lighten the tone of a hard subject. GO TO CLASS. If you skip a lot, you will be completely lost. The notecard for the exam is very helpful. Not easy by any means but it is doable.
Outstanding teacher. His personality makes it easy to sit through a three hour class. Quizzes and Tests cover exactly what is reviewed in class. Taking him again next semester for Investments.
Prof Bray is a really good teacher. Class presentation and grading standards are well thought out and logical. Take good notes and fully understand concepts and a student should do well. Overall, a top notch instructor.
I was worried about taking finance but it ended up being one of the best classes. He is very clear on what is expected and his powerpoints and the book help with understanding. It is not an easy subject and class can be exhausting but if you study the power points, do the calculations and read the chapter you'll be good. Definetly recommend!
Very straightforward in running class, fair in terms of grading and dealing with students. Study the slides and pay attention in class and you will be fine. Allows a notecard to be used on exams that can contain formulas, definitions, etc.
Class and exams are structured. He is clear and to the point. The class is very conceptual so read the book. Test are fair. A is definetly attainable. Free points for attendance. Highly recommend him.
Excellent professor. He explains things fully, and gives you everything you need to succeed in the course. That does not mean he spoon feeds you. He teaches upper level and graduate finance courses. By the time you get to these classes, you should know how to feed yourself.
This man. He's amazing. The material gets challenging but he's an awesome teacher and always willing to help. The people who say he's not helpful may be put off by his sense of humor/personality but if you put that aside and ask him for help, he definitely will. I wish I could take him for every class!
He's great! He teaches you everything you need to know to make a good grade. YOU MUST STUDY AND GO TO CLASS OR IT WILL SHOW IN YOUR GRADES. Take him if you are willing to study.
This class is hard if youdon't study. Take the quizzes seriously! They count for 40% of your grade. If you miss class you will have trouble keeping up. He is also very entertaining in class. Take him!
Very difficult class if you're unfamiliar with Finance or haven't taken similar courses in a while, but Dr. Bray does an excellent job of making the material easier to understand and even occasionally enjoyable. Definitely need to get the book for supplementary learning and for homework, and make sure to study for quizzes. Overall great professor.
Had him for Investments. Good professor, very clear, fair. 5 quizzes worth 40% of your grade, 4 tests worth 60%. 3 additional points added to final grade for attendance/active participation. Class material isn't terribly hard, but you ABSOLUTELY MUST study (especially for quizzes), or you will not do well.
I am so glad I took Dr. Bray. He was extremely helpful and I learned a lot! I am not that good with mathematical courses, but his class wasn't all that difficult as he was very clear on how to do things. GO TO CLASS! That extra 3 points he gives got me a B. I would definitely take him again. He was very entertaining as well.
Anyone saying Bray is difficult is cray cray. Go to class, takes notes and make your cheat sheet for the test and this class is the easiest A you'll get. Bray explains everything clearly, is always available during his office hours and is downright hilarious. He made me want to go to class because of how entertaining he made it. Will take him again
Great professor. Cut and dry personality, but if you do your work, you can get an A. Must go to class to understand the material and studying is super important! Was willing to help if needed, just doesn't allow you to be a slacker.
Go to class!! He is willing to help if you do your part. Oh he hates cell phones. Do not ever text in class
Clear from day one. Covers all material quickly and expects you to do some work outside of class. An A is absolutely attainable if you do some work on your own. Dr. Bray is more than willing to meet with you during office hours, or otherwise if need be. Quizzes are announced the class before. No surprises at all!
He is a great teacher and extremely clear of his expectations of his students. If you are a slacker, don't take his class. He will help but you have to actually put forth effort. Side note- he is hilarious and sarcastic. Might offend some people but I enjoy it
Dr. Bray gives 6 quizzes and counts the top 5 grades. His quizzes are entirely conceptual - no math, and they are announced prior to the class in which they occur (they aren't pop quizzes). The final is not comprehensive, it is just another test. He is very fair, and makes the material really enjoyable.
one of the best professors I have had. He is clear and easy to understand. A PHD with a 6th grade vocab, his words. He is helpful and willing to help during and after class. He is a bit sarcastic, but it makes class enjoyable. I would take him.. 6 quizes, 5 are graded and 4 tests. He makes the material easy, while making you feel smarter.
One of the best professors I've taken at Kennesaw State. Good sense of humor, which helps with a dry topic like finance. 6 Quizzes (lowest one dropped) and 4 tests. No calculation on quizzes and tests are a mix of calculation and conceptual questions. He'll gladly help you if you're having any issues. Would definitely take again.
No extra credit. If you have an 89.9, you won't get rounded up. Pay attention in class and you'll make an A. Kind of a meanie in class but super nice if you catch him at his office. Best business professor I've had.
Great professor! Hilarious and jokes around with students to make the course fun. 4 exams and 6 quizzes but drops the lowest quiz grade.
Clear and concise, very knowledgeable and has a dry sense of humor.
Prof. Bray is straight forward with his rules. He will freak out like a maniac if he see's a phone. He will give you a B IF you receive a 89.999 and there is no way of fighting it. If you love finance, you will enjoy his class. He has 4 test. The final is not cumulative but hard as hell! OH YEAH, HE IS VERY OPINIONATED!
He is sort of a sassy kind of guy if you do something that bothers him in class, so be aware of his pet peeves. I thought his class was good overall 4 exams a few quizzes. Quizzes are all conceptual and are based on the PPT slides. His exams can seem hard so come prepared, study his practice problems and PPT slides and you should be fine.
He literally reads the "math" off the PPT slides and if you ask him to clarify anything, he either says no or answers sarcastically like "what do you think". His tests are hard because they aren't like the practice problems and throws in random questions. The only easy part were the quizzes. You'll love his "special" personality.
Great teacher. I enjoyed attending his class, it was so informative and professional, and I've learned a lot. It was fun too. Fair in grading and clear grading criteria from day 1 in class. Humor is part of Dr. Bray's teaching, which makes it an easy class and not dull. You've got to manage your time well in tests. Study hard and it is easy A.
Dr. Bray is funny as well as very matter of factly. His humor and down to earth personality helps to lighten the mood of what can come off as a dry, tough subject for those who aren't finance majors such as myself. Want to pass with atleast a B? Pay attention in class, BE ON TIME, get a study group, interact (he likes that), learn your calculator!
He's overall a great guy that's just tough on people. He doesn't allow any technology which, as someone who gets distracted easily, I really respect. He also doesn't want anyone to be late. He gets you ready for the real world. 7 quizzes, lowest one dropped, 3 tests. Nail the quizzes and the class will be a breeze. Also, he looks like John Cena.
Have nothing bad to say about Bray! He's a very clear lecturer and will explain concepts very concisely. You want to show up to class because, unusually, he is actually clearer than most books. He will take directly what he teaches in class and insert them into his tests. Wish I could take him for another course!
I have him now. He is intimidating but helpful if you ask. Do all of the practice problems. Quizzes are easy and sometimes in the book. Do not ever text in class. Today he embarrassed someone bad making them leave. He drops the lowest quiz. Rent the book for cheap off Amazon. Do not miss class because you will be lost on the calculator.
I loved taking Bray and I plan to take him again for Investments. He's v funny, and while it's true he can be a hardass (does NOT bump your grade up) he's v clear about his expectations and rules from day one. In my opinion, he's more than willing to help you as long as you're reasonable and work hard. Also he showed us pictures of his dog.
This is a good teacher but do not expect any handouts. You will have to work for your grade but that is what you should expect to do anyway. If you miss class you will lose the clarity that he provides in the powerpoints. Finance is difficult so it isn't easy but he is very clear and will help you if you truly need it and are willing to ask.
He is a cool guy that makes us laugh. However, his tests are crazy hard. The average was an F on the last test before the curve. I would not take him again for that reason. 4 exams 6 quizzes. Lowest quiz dropped.
Dr. Bray is a really good professor. Hes very clear on his expectations, and he follows through with his word. His exams are straightforward, and he prepares you well for them. I struggle with any sort of math, and Im doing pretty well in his class. If you put in the effort, an A is VERY achievable. Great guy, good class. Id take him again.
Hilarious professor. You'll love the sarcasm all semester. Hardest class I've taken(material heavy), but would take him again! This class consists of tests and quizzes based completely off lectures. Practice the end of chapter problems he assigns and study slides to make an A. He knows the material and knows how to explain it. Don't need book.
One of the best teachers I've had. Go to class, print out the notes, pay attention and do the practice problems. He is hilarious and I enjoyed going to his class. One of the hardest classes you will take but he makes it easy to understand. Do literally everything he tells you to do and you will make a good grade!
He wants you to succeed through hard work! He will treat you with the same kindness and fairness as any other student, which is nice. No playing favorites. You'll be intimidated on the first day but rest assured, he may seem like a "tin man" but whether he likes it or not, he's got a heart! Attend class, go to office hours, and do the homework.
Dr. Bray is a great professor, as straightforward as they come. Go to class, print off the lecture slides, and take notes and you will have everything you need to make an A. Hilarious to listen to but if you're a snowflake you might get offended. Suck it up he is one of the best professors to take at Kennesaw State if you want to learn anything.
Amazing professor. Be ready to study. Quizzes are easy, test requires a good amount of understanding. Truly cares about his students and is readily available.
I never typically do these rate my professors things but this professor I definitely had to. While this was definitely one of the most challenging classes I have ever had at KSU this professor knows what he is doing. Yes, sometimes he teaches way to fast but overall he is a great professor and wants the best for you. He is also hilarious! Good luck
Amazing professor. Took him last semester. He is very clear on what he expects, and it is very reasonable, too. Do the practice problems he assigns. They aren't turned in, but they are KEY to succeeding in this course. He is very helpful, funny, a great teacher, and is attractive (just a bonus lol). Loved him, and this course.
If you want to learn, take this course. If you want a free A, take someone else. He teaches the material perfectly, explains how it can be applied in your life, and tells you exactly what you need to do to receive an A. The material isn't easy, it is finance. But, he's helpful. I would highly recommend taking him if you're not a child.
For what it's worth, Dr. Bray is an intelligent professor that wants his students to succeed. However, his sense of humor, personality and no-nonsense attitude can make him difficult to approach. Don't take him if you dislike professors that suffer from overabundance of personality. PS: Be careful what you say about him on social media.
No homework, only grades are quizzes and tests. If you like knowing where you stand at all times, this is the guy. Takes attendance, will call you out if you're on your phone. Not an easy class, but no bs like group projects which I really appreciated. Cares about Finance which is nice.
professor bray is an amazing finance professor, he teaches with passion and knows what he is talking about. textbook is not necessary but i did use it as a guide which helped me a lot. he drops one quiz grade and there is 4 tests total. he is funny and some people get his jokes and some don't, but he makes class enjoyable!
Dr. Bray may seem strict, however, there is a method to his madness. Clear grading criteria from day one. Plan to attend every class and take plenty of notes. You will need the book for the homework, I highly suggest you do the homework. Not an easy A, plan to study for each test & quiz. Beware the stock valuation chapter. Overall, great professor.
One of the more challenging classes in the MBA program Bray teaches at a level that raises KSU standards to what I imagine are comparable to an Emory or GA Tech level. This class requires regular attendance. The syllabus states quiz and test dates. I highly encourage doing all the suggested homework until you have high competency to receive an A.
I took Dr. Bray in a Maymester and although it was 2 weeks of a lot of hard work, I would 100% recommend him. He is the funniest professor I've ever had & actually made sitting in class for 5 hours a day enjoyable. Clear grading criteria & I love his teaching style. The class is tough, but it's finance. Probably the best finance teacher at KSU
Took him during a Maymester and he honestly made the two weeks go by super fast! He was one of the funniest professors I ever had at KSU. Just study and practice the problems he gives you and you will pass his tests! He only curves tests if the entire class needs it, and he doesn't' round up your grade. He also takes attendance everyday.
Amazing professor. Do the work and pay attention in class and youll make an A
If you want an A you better work for it. I got a B but I learned a lot. He explains things as best as he can. There are quizzes that add up to 40% of your grade. The rest is test. He hates group projects so that is a + if you do too. If you got a sensible sense of humor you will not like him. If I was a Finance major I'd take as many classes w/him.
Amazing prof. Attendance isn't required but highly recommended bc he gives helpful info. 4 tests which you can use a notecard on and 6 quizzes but only keeps top 5 scores. He does go on tangents and can be very sarcastic but if you have a good sense of humor and are a "reasonable human being" (his favorite phrase) you'll do just fine in this class
Dr Bray was a solid choice, and I'd take him again. Grade is based on 8 quizzes + 4 exams (noncomprehensive final). Tests aren't easy, but he definitely gives everyone the tools necessary to do decently on them. Him going off-topic during lectures was a mild annoyance, but otherwise, they were fine; very knowledgeable about the content.
The best professor I've had during MBA program!! He is sarcastic & funny and very passionate about finance. He teaches in a way that makes sense & is fun. I have never taken a FIN class (healthcare degrees) & was scared to take it, but I'm really enjoying his class & love his lectures. Very fair professor. Would happily take another class with him.
If you don't handle the real world well, don't take this class. Dr. Bray makes it clear no extra credit will be given, along with no bumping of grades at the end of the semester (even if you have an 89.99). There are 4 in-class tests and 6 quizzes with the lowest one dropped. Tests worth 60% of your grade, quizzes worth 40%.
First Off, ratemyprofessor shouldn't have taken away his chili pepper, rude. Second, GREAT professor. Great TEACHER, amazing ability to actually teach students information at a pace and level of understanding that any college student should be able to pass as long as effort is put in by the student. Don't expect to pass if you don't show up & work.
If you can't tolerate foul language and "real world" talk, he isnt for you. I thought it was hilarious and fantastic. He will be very real with you in terms of grading, rules and expectations. And don't show up late, not even by 10 seconds.. he won't let anyone open the door for you. Despite this, study hard, show up, take notes, he is GREAT
Bray is a fantastic teacher! He gives us several examples, and walks us step by step through problems. Do the assigned problems at the end of the chapter, they will help on tests. He allowed us to have a 3x5in index card on tests. His dazzling (sarcastic af) personality made finance interesting.
He is very straight to the point and I love the quizzes. His quizzes are easy and help you out with your grade. His tests are hard because ( Finance) , expect for test 2 was extremely hard. His sarcastic behavior gets a little annoying and disrespectful at times. Just sit quiet and do good on your work and you will be fine .
Great teacher. If you go to class and do the practice problems its hard to get anything less than a B
I don't understand why there are so many other positive ratings on David Bray, he is not easy, is quite condescending, and is easily offended. BEWARE, he is going to make you work hard for your grade and will not show much leniency. You get 4 exams and 6 quizzes all IN CLASS, and that determines your entire grade. And they are not easy. Be Warned.
His personality is fun at first, but it does grate on you as the semester drags on. Moderately difficult material but mediocre lectures, doesnt really seem all that interested in the material. Quizzes are overly difficult as are tests. Overall mediocre.
Very boring guy. Super dry material, a kind of off sense of humour. Very reliant on powerpoint and often makes corrections to them, instead of fixing them before class. He isn't the worst professor I've had, but there are better ones. 25 question tests which make up 60% of your grade. Missing one question on a test is .6 points off your final grade
Dr. Bray is by far the best professor I have ever taken at KSU. He is very direct which some people may not like, but he makes his expectations clear and attainable. He is very approachable and is always willing to help. He has made me love finance. You will work really hard in his class to do well but he makes it fun! TAKE HIM!!
The premier finance professor at KSU. He artfully brings finance to its most basic and simple level so it's accessible to everyone. If you struggle with math, Bray is your guy. He will walk you, step-by-step, through every problem you see. The department keeps this class very surface-level, but this is on the department, not Dr. Bray!
Dr. Bray is one of the best teachers in the FIN/ECON department. By nature of the material, it is not an easy class, but if you take Dr. Bray you will learn a lot and be able to receive a fair grade. Go to the lectures, do practice problems, and engage yourself and you'll be fine. If you don't like this class you might want to reconsider your major
Bray is by far the best professor that I've taken. He's got a great sense of humor and it's what I looked forward to when going to class. While attendance isn't mandatory I would highly suggest going to class or the content will be very difficult. The material is difficult but Bray made it easier to understand. (btw - hi dr. bray! :D)
Dr. Bray is a really good professor. He teaches clearly, and he structures his class to make favoritism impossible. He never gives a pop quiz. The people who say he does aren't paying attention. You don't need the book. Questions from the book are in D2L. He curves tests as needed. Finance is hard though! This class is no slouch.
A difficult class, but Dr. Bray does a good job breaking down the material and keeping the lectures interesting. He has a good sense of humor and is a fair professor. Show up early, take notes, and study the book and Power Points. It's a lot of work, but you get out what you put in with this class. Definitely recommend.
Finance is a difficult subject but Dr. Bray does great at explaining the material. His lectures are fun mainly because of his personality. Just show up to class, take notes, do the assigned problems and you should be fine. 6 quizzes, 4 exams (note card allowed). No cumulative final. No group projects. Recommend.
I took Bray's Investments class, and it was perhaps one of the most helpful classes I've taken since being accepted into Coles. He gives clear and entertaining lectures, and he is open, honest, and funny. His grading criteria is fair and diverse, but you should expect to study heavily if you want to perform well. Great guy, and an FSU fan. GO NOLES
Dr. Bray is THE BEST! I took him for FIN 3100 too. He's a very 'real world' kind of guy. Basically don't come at him with bs and you should be fine. You need the book to do well. Just come to class, take good notes, and STUDY if you want an A. Also, he's hilarious, at least I thought so. Helps make a tough subject entertaining. Overall GREAT GUY!
Dr. Bray is a professor that you want to get to know. He will make you smile and learn simultaneously. He is no pushover but if you look up the definition of "student" and imitate that you will do just fine. But don't expect a free ride. You will NOT pass this course easily, but you will be a more well rounded student for having taken him.
Dr. Bray is a solid choice for this class. The class is pretty tough, but he does a good job of explaining the material. Also, hes hilarious. He wants you to do well, but you have to put in the work. Dont come at him with any BS. Just show up on time, print the slides out beforehand, follow along in-class, and study!! Do that and youll be fine.
Dr. Bray is one of if not the best finance professor at KSU. You just have to put in the time. If you have genuine interest in what he is teaching, passing and even excelling won't be a problem. If you don't have any interest in what he teaches, you'll still do fine as long as you put in the work that he clearly sets forth for you to do.
Dr. Bray is a wonderful Professor! I took investments as an online maymester due to coronavirus. Even without face-to-face lecture it is very obvious how much he cares about his students. He does a great job explaining difficult concepts throughout the course. This class is challenging, but I strongly recommend taking it with Professor Bray!
This professor is one of the most difficult classes Ive taken at KSU. He is very sarcastic and likes to tell dry jokes constantly throughout class. He has a big ego and calls out the class for not laughing at his jokes. His tests are very difficult and the math problems are always different than his practice problems. Would not recommend taking
The bad reviews you see here are from haters. Haters are those students who dont study but think they will magically pass the class. Dr. Bray tbh is the best Professor KSU has. You better take him so you at least had him as a professor in your life once. This class was the best one I ever taken. Dr. Bray is a very fair grader and is underrated!!
Professor Bray is the best Professor I have ever had. His lectures really help you to learn and he really understands students and their situations and help you the best to be successful on his class. Very knowledgable instructor and you will learn a lot from him. Would really recommend him. The best of the best.
Professor Bray lays everything out that you need to pass this class. However this class is pretty tough. If you arent a finance major I would not recommend this class as there is jargon used that might be unfamiliar. Watch the video, study & make a good cheat sheet for the test! He has a lot of passion for finance but you also need it to pass!
Worst Professor ever. He gives you the practice problems before the test, but it would be completely different than the actual test, so you look a fool in the test. 4 test, all with a webcam and they are really hard, you have to work on all problems by hand, and send me the work. If you want to read 24/7 and still get F then take this class.
He gets really cranky over the email. His exam is really hard, if you try to ask him something over the mail he will take forever to reply you back also you have to use external email not KSU email. His class is really hard to pass. He makes exams 100 times harder.
4 test each wort$ 25% of your grade, 25. Questions mostly problem that you have to solve it by hand. Problems that you havent learned in class. All test are on webcam. This course is not that hard but his question on exams make it really hard to pass this class
Bray is one of the best Professors I've had at KSU. If you are not ready to earn a grade and expect to be treated as if you are special or above the group, do not take him. Finance is a difficult subject do not walk into the class and assume you will pass, you must earn it. He keeps his lectures interesting and engaging, just pay attention.
Dr. Bray is truly a gem (one of my favs), he has profound knowledge about the class. I enjoyed his class, he does video and highlights information that he will and will not cover. You will have to read but thats why we are students. I'm glad he doesn't make it easy, comprehension skills will be tested. He is more interactive than other teachers.
Dr. Bray is a great professor and extremely knowledgeable about finance but especially his investments class. Even with being extremely knowledgeable hes able to dumb it down to the basics to make it more easier to learn. There are 4 tests. Final is not cumulative and he records all lectures so you can watch as many times as needed. Have to study!
Dr. Bray can come off a bit brash at first, but hes honestly a good professor. Youll learn from his class although your grade wont be given to you. Study the problems he goes over at the end of chapters, but dont forget the conceptual stuff. Read any instructions he gives you for the test to a T and if there is extra credit youll get it. -TC
Do not take !!! Test are nothing like what he goes over.
Not sure why some call him the best professor at KSU. He is knowledgeable about the subject and may be a good professor to take in person but for an online class he does not shine. Graded by 4 exams which must be worked by hand using only a four-function calculator and your hand-written work must be sent to him following the exam. Not recommended.
I had a very different experience than many of these reviews. He belittled the class whenever he could, saying word for word that he didn't care how we felt about his class and not to bring issues to him. The content of his tests were weird variations of what was covered in class, so it was extremely hard to make sense of them. Take someone else.
Dr. Bray is a solid choice for students who are interested in learning. If you lack the ability to keep up with the class due to your personal life falling apart, don't take him! He's definitely not for the snowflakes who cannot handle the truth.
Listen to me when I say youll get condescending emails all semester. He is so rude for no reason, and dont even think about having any personal circumstances because he does not care. He takes off so many points on tests if you dont do things exactly his way. He posts videos for every chapter online, but he is so unhelpful & mean to students.
Professor Bray is your guy if you are good at following basic directions. If you arent good at basic reading and following what he asks, dont take him! Otherwise he is the most straight forward professor you will get. If you cant do algebra, pick another major LOL Bray is not handing you a grade you didnt earn, thats for sure!
Dr. Bray was, without a doubt, my favorite professor at KSU. He set the clearest expectations at the beginning of each semester and stuck to those expectations. His lectures force you to actually comprehend what you're learning and not just memorize concepts which can be challenging for some. He is tough but fair. If you want to LEARN, take him.
Dr. Bray is an excellent professor! He's engaged with the students who show up and make the effort to learn. You must show up to each class if you want an A. He's very straightforward and keeps it fair for all students. If you ask questions about the material, he'll help you understand by breaking each problem down. Do the work and you'll pass.
Take my word for it. Don't take him for this class, his rating should not be this high.
Great class. Dr. Bray walked us through the material at a good pace. He also added other material such as the way corporations work which sparked my interest pertaining to the class. I would recommend taking Dr. Bray for Corporate Finance for any of the students at KSU. He provides you with everything you need to pass the course.
Dr. Bray is probably the the most funny professor on campus. I found that his humor kept me engaged. If you constantly find yourself making excuses or complaining to past professors, dont take Professor Bray. He treats all of his students fairly and doesnt give favors. He is available to help students. To get an A, you will have to work for it.
No idea how he has so many good reviews here, But this class is easy if you take it with other professors, he makes this course really hard. You have to read all day and night and still, you won't pass the class. 4 test are all in lockdown and needs to solve it by hand. 4 test all semester and if you get low on one there is no chance coming back.
He is a wonderful professor. I had the choice between him and Kochman during add-drop week, but by far take Dr. Bray if you are truly interested in finance. The class isn't easy for all, but Dr. Bray definitely helps make it the best experience possible. It is highly recommended you attend class. Be sure to talk to him about his pet cat, Captain.
Dr. Bray is a great professor! He makes class fun and enjoyable. He is very fair and advocates for students, but he will not let you drift through the class without working for it. For investments, he gave about 5-6 quizzes and 4 tests. Though the tests were hard the quizzes were easy and manageable as long as you reviewed the material.
Dr. Bray is a great professor..... "Nobody puts "beta" in the corner" iykyk
The content of FIN3100 is difficult, but Dr. Bray is hilarious and makes the most out of your class time together. He only allows for handwritten notes but does allow you to use your notes on 2 of the 6 quizzes (highest 5 graded) and a half sheet of paper on all 4 exams. Quizzes are 40% and Tests are 60% of your grade.
Bray is one of my favorite professors I've had. He really knows what he's talking about & answers questions in depth. You WILL struggle if you don't go to class but he makes his lectures funny so it isn't hard to go. I actually feel like I learned in his class. Not a class for pansies, but don't listen to reviews saying he isn't helpful. Take him!!
Overall Dr. Bray made the class really enjoyable. As far as the class, it was extremely difficult for me. You have to print off the notes for the ppts and wont allow you to use your computer. Make sure you sit in the front because the back is really hard to see. Tests were tough so make sure you study end of chapter problems.
I looked forward to this class every week. Dr. Bray makes this course fun and engaging. You will definitely have to study, but it is not unreasonable. Group study was very helpful. Dr. Bray is genuine and gives you everything you need to make the grade you want. Take him!!
Prof. Bray is a great teacher despite it being a fairly difficult class. The class is based on 5 quizzes and 4 exams with no cumulative exam. We were allowed 1 open note quiz and an index card for each test. Prof. Bray is very clear and makes class interesting with the occasional life lesson. If i weren't graduating, I'd find a way to take again.
Dr. Bray is a solid professor. Incredibly smart and gives you the tools to pass. First semester he had tenure, so he was a bit nicer but I got a C because I slacked at the beginning of his class. You MUST go to class, and MUST pay attention without missing a single word. Calculated guy but his corny jokes show he doesn't want you to be miserable.
Dr. Bray explains corporate finance in a clear way. His grading system is straightforward and he drops the lowest grade. The six quizzes are challenging. You have to take good notes, study well, and complete the end of chapter problems to do well. He shares real-world applications to lectures and he has a fun sense of humor. I enjoyed his class.
Dr. Bray is one of my favorite professors so far. His lectures are interesting and he keeps the mood light. His grading scale is fair and he makes a difficult class very doable. As long as you attend class and put forth effort you will do well.
Dr. Bray was wonderful and I would recommend him to anyone. There are six quizzes and four tests so you need to be sharp and know your material especially on test days. He does a wonderful job explaining the concepts, walking you through the math, and he allows you to use a financial calculator. Go to class, he is hilarious. Take Dr. Bray!
Dr. Bray was a phenomenal teacher. One of my toughest Fin classes. I loved the professors teaching style and blunt humor!
I enjoyed Dr. Bray's course. Very assertive and clear explanations when exposing the topics. Dr. Bray is very straightforward and manage the course exactly as shown in the syllabus. One of the best graduate clourses I have taken. Would recommend 100%
Great course! I'm in IT so finance is something I appreciate but not interested in. This course made me not hate finance and Dr Bray keeps it fun too. Be honest with him if you're struggling because he wants you to succeed and is a great coach to help you figure it out. It's the toughest course of MBA program and I looked forward to it each week.
I took Dr. Bray for a FIN 3100 maymaster, a maymester is usually dull and jam packed with info not with Dr. Bray he made ever class exciting and kinda fun to go too. He is funny witty and straight to the point. IDK how his semester long classes go but I am sure if you go to class and take somewhat decent notes and pay attention you will be fine.
Took Dr. Bray for a 2 week Maymester class. He pretty much remembered all of our names and where we sat by the 3rd day. Very knowledgeable about finance. Material is a bit tough but it challenges you to think critically. After completing his class, I left wanting to open a retirement fund and now carry a financial calculator in my purse. #JayBey
Dr. Bray is awesome person and prof. The bad: Few grades,Can NOT use your laptop because finance there practice examples The Good:Caring, willing to help you learn,Keeps it fun and I looked forward to class, Very fair, no pop quizzes -he tells you when they are the class prior and which chapters Favorite MBA professor! Take his elective!
I have had no problems with any other professor besides him, I asked for him to help but he said he can not give any additional help which makes zero sense cause I'm paying for the class. As well as he was dismissive with emails and overall rude.
Amazing lecturer, very well prepared and able to concisely communicate necessary knowledge. He does sidetrack to talk about his personal opinions sometimes but otherwise a great professor. Only assignments were 10 quizzes and 4 tests (drops lowest). Mandatory attendance, and used paper exams, so a little old school. Otherwise great.
Dr. Bray is an acquired taste for some, due to some of his standpoints. Students however need to disregard his stance on personal matters and view him from an educational perspective. He is engaging, hilarious, and treats everyone fairly while emphasizing academic freedom. It is a tough course with no computers, but it's to help you understand more
Bray is fantastic! Syllabus is simple and clear. No homework or group projects. 6 quizzes (1 dropped) and 4 tests with cheat sheet allowed. Attendance is not required but his lectures were the best I've been to in my college career - he's hilarious. He is quick in responding to emails. Tons of available office hours if you need help. Take him!!!
Dr. Bray is very straight forward. He lets the class know on the first day that no one will receive preferential treatment for any reason. Students are treated equally and fairly and he is an open book. Some snowflakes get their feelings hurt and complain, my classmates need to grow up. Dr. Bray outlines the course and sticks to it. TAKE HIM.
Dr. Bray is genuinely one of the funniest professors I have ever taken. The course content can be difficult to some, but the way he teaches make it easy for those that are good with lecture-based teaching rather than having homework. There are 6 quizzes and 4 tests, with one of the quizzes being dropped. Take Bray, It's an experience like no other.
Professor Bray was one of the best online teachers I had at KSU. I took him during the summer for FIN3100 and the only grades in the class were 9 quizzes (the lowest 2 were dropped). I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to take finance. His quizzes were webcammed but if you watch his videos then you should do fine.
Dr. Bray is one of the funniest and nicest teachers I've had in a while! Very accessible outside of class and through email. The content he teaches can be difficult, but he makes it easy to understand and fun to learn. Would highly recommend taking him! Funny guy with a good heart and treats everyone equally with respect.
Prof. Bray is an awesome teacher. You will have to put in the effort and he will not give you any personal favors. His lectures are full of what you need to know and he makes them enjoyable. I actually didn't mind going to class all semester.
Professor Bray is one of the best professors I've had here at KSU. He makes the class interesting and fun, explains concepts clearly and is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is always respectful, fair, and provides everything you need to succeed in this class. I'm grateful I got to take his class.
Professor Bray is the best! He makes a hard class make sense! I am not super good when it comes to math and finance, but professor Bray helped me learn it and do well in his class! Super funny guy and really caring for his students. Just make sure you put in the work. This is a course that you need to put work into in order to do well!
His class is very hard, I honestly would not take him again. He also advises you to print out all of the PowerPoint slides for each chapter and there will be around 80 but he will only teach like 30-40 of them.
I personally really struggled in this class as it was a lot of material to learn and I'm not the best with writing notes on paper. However, he was a great professor that did his best to keep class entertaining and I really appreciated his very fair approach to how he treats students. He's got a big personality and I thought it was pretty funny.
Dr.Bray is not a bad professor, but he does move pretty fast through the lectures. I would say just go to class, take notes, and make sure you take the time to study the lectures. The class was pretty manageable with corporate finance.
If you're looking for an easy A, go somewhere else. If you're looking to LEARN finance and have a great class with the best professor at KSU, take him. Achieving an A takes lots of studying but he makes the material very easy to learn. The class has 6 quizzes and 4 tests, all are not easy but if you actually try you will be fine. Dr Bray is great.
Have to put forth effort to receive an A. Not all tests are easy, but doable. I learned more in this class then any other class at KSU. He makes lectures enjoyable. No phones, no computers. No extra credit, does curve some tests. Take him. 4 tests, 6 quizzes.
Finance can be a very difficult class, however, Professor Bray makes this topic much easier to understand by using real-world examples, breaking down each problem, and encouraging the class to participate during lectures. Take advantage of the problems he assigns for tests, and go to his office hours to help prepare for his tests.
If you want to learn, take him. Studying is key, but he is clear and straightforward. Lectures are entertaining due to his jokes. Great guy overall. Ego problem? Maybe but that's all Finance majors. The test is 60% (25 q's) then Quiz 40%, drops the lowest. No group projects, one open-note quiz.
Dr. Bray provides exactly the information you need to be successful in his course. The lectures are entertaining, and Dr. Bray is funny, straightforward, and very accessible if you need him. Overall, this was the best master's course I have taken thus far, and I felt like I was not overloaded with material but received exactly the right amount.
Dr. Bray went to great lengths to ensure we knew that he was available for help even though the class was asynchronous. I found the course content to be very relevant and Dr. Bray's presentations and materials were clear and effective. I would look forward to taking another of his courses in the future.
He will thoroughly test your understanding of the material. Tests are comprehensive, timed, and monitored. You will learn in this course, but it will be easy if you access the provided material. He does not ask trick questions and provides clear warnings of common pitfalls. He is accessible out of the classroom, and his grading is more than fair.
Dr. Bray is firm, fair and consistent. Course will not be easy but material will be presented and Dr. Bray response promptly.
Dr. Bray is probably my favorite professor I have had at KSU. He is absolutely fair to all of his students, and he wont amend that for anybody for any reason. His lectures are engaging and funny. I have always struggled to pay attention in class, but this is the exception because the lectures are so interesting. Take his class!
Dr. Bray has great lectures and makes class interesting. Whenever I started struggling with the material, he was always happy to meet on Teams. Corporate finance is definitely the hardest course in the program. 60% of the course grade is tests, 40% is the average of all your quizzes. Do the EOC problems as soon as you get them. Good luck!
Professor Bray was an amazing professor! He enjoys teaching Finance and cares about the success of his students. If you're struggling with the material, he is more than happy to connect via Teams and answer any questions. Your grade is 60% exams and 40% quizzes. If you do the homework and take good notes, you will do well. Good luck!
Dr. Bray cares about you learning finance, not what's trending on TikTok, so ignore the negative reviews. He gives clear instructions and appropriate homework to understand the material so you can do well on the exams. He gives notice for pending quizzes and the exam dates are listed in the syllabus. Read, attend, do the HW and you'll do fine.
Professor Bray is by far the best professor I've had at KSU. He is smart, hilarious, and caring. His grading criteria is clear and fair, as long as you attend class, pay attention and practice the EOC problems, you should be good. I'd definitely recommend him if you need to take Fin 3100 (I took the maymester class)
Dr. Bray possesses extensive knowledge and simplifies the complexities of Finance.
One of the best professors at Coles! Taking this course with Professor Bray made me love finance! If you attend lectures, print out PowerPoints (no electronics allowed), and study, you can easily get an A or B!
hard to pass the class
Professor Bray makes finance engaging and challenging. Attend lectures, do the homework, and use resources like Unstuck AI to excel. The class is manageable with effort.
this dude is seriously awesome. kinda goes OD on free speech or whatever but he is 100% the best professor i have had in my four years here. he knows his stuff. big time. equal parts smart and funny. TAKE. THIS. PROFESSOR. i cant stress it enough. the class does take a fair amount of effort, but id rather take it with bray than any other professor.
Take Professor Bray. He teaches in a way that makes you want to be engaged while having fun. He brought a good vibe and is really passionate about his job! Dont miss an exam though his makeup exam policy is scary. The policy is fair, but not ideal. I'm telling you right now he will be one of your favorite teachers of all time after taking him.
No Play Dr. Bray is the perfect person to teach Finance! Wasn't even that hard, just study the slides & practice the EOC problems. Repetition is key. Textbook not needed, but found it helpful when studying or for clarification on certain topics. Half a sheet of paper can be used on exams. Always a fun time in class and super willing to help you!
BEST professor I've ever taken. He makes class enjoyable and entertaining and is great at explaining the concepts you need to learn. Your grade is made up of 4 tests 5 quizzes. He has strict policies and sticks to them and his major one is no devices which sucks, but he somehow made it enjoyable.
Dr. Bray is fair. As long as you listen to the lecture and do the problems that he outlines you will do fine. Quizzes are a direct reflection of what he is teaching.
Dr. Bray is strict in adherence to the rules. You must pay attention to these details and follow through. I believe the rigorous structure is to the students' benefit. Professor Bray adds valuable insights and good humor into the topic of finance. plan for exams (time management); plan adherence to the instruction make a list check it twice.
I invested 4 hours per week to have a 99% average in the class (FIN 7020). All the questions on the quizzes are from the lectures and HW. I hear that many people were getting F's on the quizzes; I'm not sure how, other than not watching the lectures or working problems. Dr. Bray is extremely direct and fair. This was one of my favorite classes.
Mediocre teacher who demanded adherence to his policies without error. In my opinion, learning the actual material was secondary to following all of his rules. Not a hard class at all, but he makes it difficult.
Dr. Bray is hands down the best professor in the MBA program! He helps breakdown complex concepts regardless of your level of finance knowledge. He is very raw and real with how he talks & has a great sense of humor which is much needed when you're sitting through a math class at 6PM. PS: He is tenured so his jokes aren't like other professors.
Dr Bray is very funny and he has a way of keeping you engaged every lecture. He truly cares about his students and wants us to succeed.
Dr. Bray has been one of the best professors/teachers I have ever had. His class is very direct, and as long as you study the material and show up to class, you will do well. He is a very funny guy which makes the lectures as enjoyable as they can be. If you don't do well in his class, it is because you simply didn't try.
Class average on 1st quiz out o 8 total is 49%. That speaks for itself
Good at what he teaches but terrible at everything else to the point that the entire class suffers. Politically opinionated and his policies are not conducive to learning. Grade is based on 6/8 quizzes; he has arbitrary rules and for each one u don't follow exactly u lose 20% Doesn't care about external circumstances run if life tends to happen 2 u
He speaks freely in his personal life and online, but he never brings this into his lectures. His class is not political in any way. If you take him online, you better be able to follow basic directions with the quizzes. Dr. Bray will fail you if you cheat on camera. I can see why they call him No-Play Dr. Bray. If you want to learn, take him.
Would not recommend taking him, I ended up dropping the class because I knew I would not have succeeded with how tough he grades. Takes off points for all the small little things.
Good teacher can just come off a little condescending in emails. If you can look past that he drops two of your lowest quiz grades. He's very knowledgeable and the End of Chapter review helps with the exam. Make sure you know the concepts as well. FOLLOW ALL RULES IN SYLLABUS AND EMAILS OR YOU WILL GET DEDUCTIONS!!!!!
Only after taking a course with Dr. Bray do you realize how bad the vast majority of professors are. The grade is composed of 8 quizzes, 2 are dropped. For each quiz, you are allowed to use a half sheet of paper as a notecard. It can be typed with anything you want on it. Have the work ethic of a college student, easy A. Take this course!
very harsh grader, will take point off anything he can according to t
This has been my second time taking a course with Dr. Bray and have never once had an issue. His courses are structured very professionally, and in a way where you will learn more than you have in any other. His course structure will help take you further in life if you are willing to learn not just academically. Never has pushed politics either.
Extremely unprofessional professor. I was doing well all semester until, near the end, he suddenly deducted points from all my past quizzes without valid reason or explanation. His actions and false accusations ruined the course for me and caused my grade to drop drastically making it so I was failing the course overnight. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!
Prof Bray will absolutely lower your grade if he observes cheating behaviors on your webcam. If you didn't cheat, you can fight it with KSU and he encourages you to do so. But if you don't take it up with KSU you know what you did and No Play Bray will provide consequences to your grade! Snowflakes and woke babies should beware.
It was very daunting at first because the course grade only consisted of 6 quiz grades (6 out of 8) and the professor seemed very strict with his grading but he really is a very understanding professor and his generosity showed throughout the semester. He truly does care about his students
The last reviewer states "Tons of Homework." I guess KSU really needed the money to let in someone this lacking. There is ZERO homework in Bray's classes. Homework is for juveniles.
Dr. Bray is very knowledgable and very direct in his teaching style. He covers what he wants you to know in class. There is NO group project or homework. You can tell that he has little patience for BS excuses. Go to class, print the slides, study your notes for quizzes/exams and you should have no problem earning a C or better.
If you put in enough effort you will pass. Dr. Bray may not be everyones cup of tea but he sure is knowledgeable and reliable. If you operate on a similar wavelength, you may find him entertaining as well. If you are not strong in mathematics, this class may be more challenging for you as it was for me.
I hope everyone get the chance to take Professor Bray. 6 quizzes 4 questions each worth 8% each( lowest gets dropped). 4 exams worth 15% each. This is a very lecture heavy class but if you show up he will teach you very well what you need to know. Listen in class and do optional practice problems he assigns and you will succeed. Take this class.
This is the best professor I've had at KSU. Bray makes the lectures actually interesting which helps a ton with learning the material because it isn't easy. There is zero homework, just tests and quizzes taken in person the way it should be. No smartbooks, no group project, no nonsense, just straight up learning concepts. Would recommend.
Dr. Bray was the best professor I have had in college. He is funny, and really cares about the content he teaches. The only downside is that he is strictly on paper. All tests and quizzes are in class and the only assignments that you must complete. There are 6 quizzes 4 tests that make up your grade.I would recommend this professor to everyone!
He is 100% my favorite professor. The bad reviews probably didn't try or study at all for his class. He was absolutely incredible, he doesn't have a lot of grades, but he really cares about his students, and wants you to do well. He knows what he is talking about. It's a no technology class. TAKE HIM, no homework, just quizzes and tests!
Professor Bray is a professor for the students!! Literally!! He understands the shenanigans students have to endure and he tries his best to make sure that his class doesn't become a burdensome class for students. Interactive learning space with lots of sarcasm!! However, it is very important to study the end of chapter problems. All the best!!!
Best professor I've had. Engaging and ACTUALLY wants the best for his students. Turned what I expected to be my hardest class into my easiest (Got a C in Fin 3100 and an A in this class). Never anything unexpected on the quizzes or tests, it is all clear cut. Goes above and beyond to only teach what we actually need to know and give real insight.
HE WAS AMAZING! I tried getting in another finance class with him, that's how much I loved him! Yes, there are few grades (4 tests, 6 quizzes), and no technology. BUT, he really knows what he is talking about, any questions you have he is very accessible, and he makes lectures hilarious. No homework either. So trust me when i say to TAKE HIM!
Professor Bray creates the ideal environment for learning so that all the students are set up for success in both the class and in the broader world around us. The lectures are engaging and the material is taught in a digestible way. I definitely recommend this class to anyone who will take an interest in learning.
The other reviews for all classes are correct. He's amazing, gives clear grading criteria, tells you what to be ready for, and doesn't give any curveballs. The lectures are fun and all of what you need to learn are in the chapter PowerPoints and the end of chapter practice problems. Easier than 3100 in my opinion. Take him!
