A very compassionate person. Does an excellent job of guiding you through the learning process in an unconvential way. Innovative and friendly. I learned so much from this class
Nice guy, but I didn't really think he "taught" us much. Most of the work was done by the students. We had to prepare lectures to present in class. I think it would be better if he spent more time lecturing than just expecting students to do the work for him. He has some great ideas, but I don't think many students were really interested in it.
I *HATED* this class. It was a huge waste of my time. I learned nothing, and I'm glad it's over.
Class was easy! Tests and quizzes are through WebCt and you have a group project. He falls asleep through the presentations so don't stress out about it! Overall a very easy class!!
Way too much work given. A presentation, 4 3-page memos, ect. A lot of theroy and I feel as if I really did not learn a lot if anything. Try to take someone else.
Dr. Bright is a nice person, but I hated going to this class. You are totally dependent on your group which he assigns. There is a lot of busy work in this class. I dont feel like I learned anything in this class. The class was fairly easy though, the tests and quizzes are all through WEB CT which allowed for open book/notes.
Awesome teacher!! Dont opt-out you'll regret it. Tests are open book what could be easier. Even If you get a low grade on a test, JUST DO MORE SERVICE POINTS!!!!
He is a really good teacher. Do not opt out, it will help you to stay in class. Staying in class is a lot of FUN.
Do not opt-out! Lectures, but alot of group and class discussion which makes the time go by fast. Service points can help your grade tremendously even if you dont do well on the OPEN book tests! I highly recommened this teacher!!!
Dr. Bright is an awesome teacher! Do not opt-out. There are only three tests and they are online/open-book. Even if you do average on these there are service points which you can recieve that will boost your grade way up! I highly recommmend Dr. Bright. He is very helpful and class discussions are most of the time very interesting!!!
He's a good teacher and works hard to get us to understand the material and keep class interesting. Also gives the option to "opt-out" of attending class, but I wouldn't recommend it.
very helpful and willing to work with you when needed.
This class is one of a kind. Not only does he give you the option of not comming to class at all, but he makes class for those who stay interesting and fun. The class structure is laid back and the learning comes by itself. Definitly take this class!!
Dr. Bright is GREAT!!! He makes the class fun and you really get to know other people in your class. The time went by quick which is great since it is a night class. You need to do your work and all the tests are OPEN BOOK. Service points really raise your grade.
I loved Dr. Bright. He is brillant and really makes you think and learn. His ASB format for the class is such a refreshing way to learn compared to all other classes at WSU. Definately one of the best classes I've taken (and I'm a psychology major =]) Take this class if you get the opportunity!!! I would take any of Dr. Bright's classes!
Excellent use of class time. dr. bright makes class fun and interesting. I highly recommend
Dr. Bright is the man! His class was engaging and interesting. Going to class is a must (especially the 1 night a week class). You only really have to write papers so if you are horrible at taking tests like myself this is the class for you! The entire class revolves around participation! So do yourself a favor and take him!
This class was a easy A. There was a mandatory class attendance, but since it was a one night week class it was neccessary to be in class. There was no tests so if you are terrible with tests and good at papers then take this class.
Great class and not hard to get an A. NO TESTS! Very interactive class and if you don't like working with groups, do not take him. Everything we do is group activities and his description of the activities are very brief and hard to understand. WI course too so watch for the 3 essays. Group project at end of quarter also. TAKE IF WANT AN A!
Dr. Bright makes you think "outside the box". He is exetremely helpful and understanding professor. I would definitely take a class with him again.
A great professor, one who truly cares about his students and their learning. The class material was not very difficult but you will learn a lot if you choose to apply concepts learned through the readings and during class time to your life. There is no cramming for tests because there are none. I would definitely recommend this professor!
Professor Bright is a great teacher! If I could take him for every class I would. His teaching style is unique, which allows us students to think outside the box and become more aware of the business world.
Best part of the class was there was no exams. You have to write a lot though and he makes you talk about your feelings like you're in a therapy session. He's a very unique teacher. Never had a class like it before. If you don't get into the class then you'll be bored out of your mind and he grades on participation.
Dr. Bright has the most unique teaching style of any professor I've had. He makes you think a lot & doesn't really give directions for anything...only guidelines. You have to write a lot but there are no tests!! Must go to class b/c a lot of your grade is based on 'service' points recieved/made in class. I would definitely take Dr. Bright again!
Great Teacher. you have to go to class but it goes by pretty fast. you have a lot of group work. his teaching style is very unique and not like most teachers. i have taken him twice and have enjoyed both classes. definitely take him
I've had Dr. Bright for 3 different classes and enjoyed all three. Like others have said, his style is very unique, but if you can have an open mind and accept a different style of class (rather than sit and listen) you'll have fun. Grades are not hard to get. No exams, but a few papers per quarter. Take him if you get the chance!
Great Teacher! His style of teaching is very unique but also very interesteing. He requires alot of you in your ability to think outside of the box. He isn't a difficult teacher, just very challenging of you. Would take him again for any management class!!!
Dr. Bright has an enthusiastic attitude about the subject that he teaches. He has a creative spin on the objectives that he teaches in class. I enjoyed coming to class each week because there was always an interesting activity. It was far from you typical classroom experience. He's a great educator and it's obvious that he enjoys what he's doin
This was one of the most interesting classes I have taken. Dr. Bright's method of teaching is unique. The class is given the opportunity to learn from each other. The class is very laid back, and the projects are interesting. I strongly recommend taking this class.
First day/week is overwhelming. Class is thrown into a brand new learning style. Students are expected to actively learn from one another. I really enjoyed this class and learned alot from it! Definately recommend Dr. Bright.
The way he teaches the class is unlike any other teacher. We seriously teach each other the class material and surprisingly enough, it has been more effective. The quizzes are open book and pretty easy. The essays you write are easy and there is no right or wrong answer because it is based on your past experiences. I am glad I took his class!
Great Guy. He really cares about getting the information across in a way that students will remember. If you can stick it out past the first week or so, the rest is cake.
Don't go in expecting the same old thing this class is completely different. You group up and teach each other the material. You practice management while you learn about it. Its refreshing to have a new way of doing things. The class isn't hard but it's so different which makes it challenging.
He is one of those professors that actually makes you think for yourself. Dont go into this class thinking that it is an easy A because this class is unlike anything I have ever taken before. You teach yourself and others in the class. There is a lot of work, but this class with this professor is definatly worth it.
Overall, this class is useful in the real world. The structure of the class is different so get ready for lots of hands on experience in this class. No tests so to say just application essays and real life situation essays. I liked it.
David Bright gives a more hands-on, group-oriented educational experience. This suits certain students more than others. I thought it was fun.
It is definitely a different class than you will be used to however it is pretty fun and easy if you put in a decent amount of effort. Dr. Bright is really helpful if you need any advice and DO NOT OPT-OUT. It will seem ambigious and hard at first but it will be manageable.
Best teacher you can have!!!!Not a hard class if you do the assignments.
Outstanding professor! Very helpful and funny. Just pay attention and you'll get an A
Great teacher u mainly work in groups and lets u become the teacher great way to show leadership skills
Not your usual teacher. He treats the class as an organization. He allows you to teach and interact with each other. Quizzes are on WebCT. Instead of tests you write essays. Easy A if you go to class. You can opt out and have your grade based off tests and quizzes instead of group activities. I recommend taking his class.
Dr. Bright is very energetic and really enjoys teaching this course. The course is designed to put students in the driver's seat and get away from the traditional lecture model of teaching. You will do well to read the text and come to class. I do have a problem with profs mandating that students come to class or grades will be lowered but in this
Dr. David Bright is a very good teacher. He doesn't lecture a lot like most teachers. A lot of group work is involved in this class, but it ends up not being too bad. There is a lot of writing, but as long as you understand the instructions, you'll do fine. Overall, I would definitely reccommend taking MGT 304 with Dr. Bright!
best teacher ever! it's an easy class but you have to do a lot of work. you learn SO much and it is SO fun. I took it in the summer, so it's every dayopposed to once a week. It may be different during the year, but it was a great class and it wasn't big so that was good. I looked forward to class each day.
Dr. Bright is a scholar, a true educator, and notably 1 of the most prepared professors I have had in the past 3 yrs. His main concern is that you learn! He takes great care to provide a learning environment that will support every students desire to learn the concepts of the course and actively apply them in ways that really matter. Classes are
Dr. Bright is very creative and he challenges you to learn; action packed classes and knows the material well--subject matter expert--and can communicate it and teach it. Excellent at providing feedback. Take any of his classes.
Very good prof!! You learn a lot from this class, because it's very interactive. You are concstantly working in groups, which makes it fun. He does not lecture very much which is nice. Also, you can choose to not to the group work and just do the tests and papers. The work in the class is not bad either. I definitely recommend taking this class wit
Great professor! The class was great, you are challenged and if you put effort you will be rewarded, this class is not of the traditional nature, you will have lots of fun!!
Dr Bright provides an alternative style to teaching which requires intinsive participation in class. The classes are enjoyable and you will learn application of concepts. Additionally the classroom atmosphere Dr Bright provides will allow you to get to know the people in your class really well. Be prepared to do some work though.Overall,I reccomend
you will have fun...take the course.
His teaching is unique to all. I really had fun and learned alot throught this class. If you don't wanna do the work opt-out( don't recommend missing out on this experience) if you opt-in and feel like your falling behind talk to him about it. He is very understand "Family First"! This is a 1 time opportunity..TAKE ADVANTAGE!!!!
Amazing opportunity. Easy to implement this style of learning. A process that involves so many lessons, most of which cant put into words yet.Hold tight to what happenes in MGT 304. I guarantee this class is a perfect example of what you put into opportunities in life, you always get back. ASB Learning is a major component of a successful edu.
Excellent class, different format from any other class I have taken and it was enlightening. This class is a must take.
Great Teacher! Really fun class. If you are a student that cant take unorthodox classes, do not take this one. Had a lot of fun in this class with our groups! Definitely take this class if needed
Bright is a good professor, but if you are in his MGT 394 class, OPT OUT! There is so much work if you don't. If you opt out you don't have to attend class, all you do is take online quizzes and write 2 papers. No exams!!! So remember, OPT OUT!
attendance is not mandatory but you do need to be there to do the group work
Good teacher, assignments where not always explained clearly there is a lot of group work and papers
Definately chose to Opt-In. Students who pick that option tend to end the class with better grades. Class focuses on workshops and is not really that difficult. The only time consuming part of the class is the Personal Reflection Essays and Feedback. Really interesting style of teaching and I would recommend this class to anyone!
It was a very demanding class. Alot of work in groups plus 2 papers and a long paper for your final. Also, their is 12 or more quizes. Dr. Bright is a great teacher and even though their is a tone of work outside of class like group meetings, it was educational and taught me a ton in OD.
This class is definately worth taking with Dr. Bright bc he using a different type of teaching technique that is very interesting and helpful for learning the material. I would take Dr. Bright again if I had the option to. Classes mainly consist of workshops, on-line quizzes and two papers.
Class was very unorthodox, but it was a fresh of breath air. Class wasn't hard at all, but required a lot of group work and presentations/workshops.
Mr. Bright is a great professor, his teaching style is different but I enjoyed the class. The class is kind of demanding, but I would definitely recommend opting-in!!
Good Professor / Very unstructured style of class / I usually light slightly more structured classes, but I cant complain.
CLASS IS EASY, FUN AND EDUCATIONAL. PROFESSOR EASY-GOING AND HELPFUL ON SUBJECT. GREAT CLASS AND DIFFERENT APPROACH TO TRADITIONAL CLASS STUCTURE
Awsome class! If you opt-in you will have to be in class everyday; however, this class is so interesting and you will enjoy his new way of teaching. Take this class if you want to learn something new and have fun doing so!
This class will be COMPLETELY different from what you're used to. Although the teaching methods are...unusual I'd be lying if I said I didn't learn from this class. Teacher mad the class fun and easy to learn the subjects. I would/will recommend this teacher to friends!
This class is nothing near a typical class. The entire class is based on the students teaching each other the topics through workshops. You are given the option to opt out of the extra work but I would definitely advise opting in. It wasn't an easy class but I really enjoyed it. As long as you do the work you're almost guaranteed an A!
Great professor & great class to be involved with. From day one you may be skeptical about his opt-in or opt-out option but let me tell you that if you opt-in you will not regret it! Its very fun and so non-traditional which is a very nice change of pace compared to a normal class. Thank you Dr. Bright for an enlightening experience.
I really enjoyed his unique way of making a class into a living organization. I wished there was better participation in the class, but sometimes that can't be helped.
Great instructor, makes the class experience more fun and interesting.
This is a very unique class experience, I would recommend it for anyone who must take this class. If you do, OPT IN!
WOW! OPT OUT! I would have NEVER NEVER NEVER have OPTED IN! Did I say NEVER? NEVER
This is a very different class. At times it is very stressful because it is not done in a traditional way. i am not sure if i like it so far because it is sooo unclear what it expected of us. hopefully this will change. updates soon to come.
I am currently taking this class in the Summer. I wanted to update you onthe class. It is going a lot better now, once you get used to it it is much better. You will learn a lot about teamwork and organization. Take it, and have an open mind during the first few weeks. Good Luck!
This class is very untraditional. It seemed like a mess at first, but with time it's going better. There's a TON of busy work included that doesn't seem to have a huge effect on the class though. Online quizzes are very important for your grade in the class, but do not seem to pertain directly to the class.
MGT 304 is very interesting... You will definitely be a little confused at first because his style of teaching is very open and relaxed. He would tell us to do one thing then we would question it and try to do it differently and he'd say sure, sounds good to me! There's alot of group work but its not bad. The workshops are very helpful.
This class is awesome! It is very nontraditional and really gives you an understanding of what management is by participating in group activities and a few essays and 10-question multiple choice exam. In the summer we could not opt-out and I would definitely recommend everyone to participate. Not much out of class work, pretty easy & definitely fun
MGT 304 was very interesting. His style of teaching is very out of the ordinary and it took me off guard at first. I very much like structure and for a while I felt that this class had none. Overall this class was okay, Dr. Bright is a great guy with a very relaxed teaching style. Just do as he says and stick with it and it will get better
You will love this class. It's probably not like any other classes you've taken. It is kind of hard to follow at first, but you will catch on and it is worth it. You barely use the book; I didn't buy it and got by just fine. If you show up and at least attempt the work, you will get a B minimum guaranteed. This class isn't boring, it's a fun class.
Dr. Bright is an interesting guy, timid perhaps, though genuine. I enjoyed his class for the most part, but with material as easy to grasp as games on the back of a cereal box, it's hard not to. You participate, you get an A.
Dr. Bright's class is very different from any other normal class. His teaching style is very nontraditional and at first you may feel overwhelmed not by the work but by his style of teaching. We had online quizzes and 3 short application exams. If you want an easy A in MGT 304 take Dr. Bright's class!!!!
When you start this class your gona think I shouldn't have taken this course. But it's not bad at all, you actually learn in this class and David cares about his students. I recommend this class if you enjoy doing group work.
Very open!.. Get in a Good group and stay open to ideas.. This is a very fun class.. but I did most work out of it.. Main thing if you like to have fun this is a good class for you
Great teacher. You may think at first you will never make it, but once you get the concept the class runs smooth. Easy A, but you must attend! I highly recommend to take his class. Very understanding!
Good professor...Don't really need to buy the textbook...not too hard of a class.
Dr. Bright is an amazing teacher and the class really contributes to real world learning. At first the class seems overwhelming but it is broken down so that it really isn't that hard at all.
This class was pretty easy. The only downside was that he wasn't very clear concerning when things were due and such. Mostly just group work. Not very organized but the class was pretty big and I don't think he was used to teaching that many people at once.
Overall, this class wasn't bad. There's lots of group work and 3 papers based off your own values, strengths, and your best self. Dr. Bright makes the class interesting because it's not your average lecture class. Students learn a great deal about their own leadership styles. I recommend this instructor.
He's a good teacher but there is not much structure to the class.
great professor, very helpful and easy to talk to. i only wish the class was better organized right from the beginning
Dr. Bright's class is different than everyone else. You have to go into it with an open mind. He is, however, a teacher that focuses on what you get out of it, rather than memorizing theories. I like that better.
He isn't real big on tests or exams. There are 3 essays, open book online quizzes and group workshops. If you put in the effort you swill most likely get an A. I recommend taking this teacher.
Enjoyed the class in the end. It took awhile for the students as a whole to understand grading system. It was his largest class ever, over 80 people!! Expectations are given upfront. He gives plenty of chances to help with your learning. I would choose the ASB system for your grading. Open book tests are definately nice!!! No comprehensive final!!
This class is fairly easy, but you need to do all the assignments and put a little work into it to get a good grade.
A different type of class then what I was use to. An overall good experience, especially if you enjoy working in a group.
This class is very unique! Instead of focusing on yourself, the class is designed to help you focus on the success of others. You do this through various service activities and group work. Don?t take this lightly, it?s harder than it seems. As long as you put in the time, you will do great! Dr. Bright is very approachable and is willing to help in
His teaching style was very...unique. But it was not a hard class at all. I would suggest taking him to anyone. You just have to keep an open mind and try to enjoy yourself. He's very nice and easy to talk to.
Great Prof. explains class information well. His class is a new experience everyday. Attendence is not really mandatory but if you dont go you will miss out. I wouldnt say the class is easy it involves a lot of group work and self improvement. Altogether take this class its a really good experience.
This class was interesting. I thought we would do more workshops than we actually did. The wokshops that we planned were fun. The lectures are a hard to follow, he tries to make them interesting. There is a lot of informtion in one chapter. Don't wait until the last minute to do the reading quizzes. Overall a fun class.
Excellent professor. Unique teaching methodology. He did drop the midterm to lower class stress :)
Good prof. Very different class atmosphere than you will be used to but it is a good change. With an open mind you will learn a lot. I would take him again and recommend him to others. Not hard to get an A.
Great teacher. Very fun class. Every day is a new experience. This was by far the most fun class I have taken at Wright State. Class time is spent heavily in group work and you get to know the people in your group very well. Overall This was an excellent class
Great professor! Excellent class. Teaching style and format of the classs is very unique and involves a lot of groupwork. Really enjoyed the workshops every week. Not hard to get an A or B!
I believe this was Dr. Bright's first time teaching MGT 411 - so I think the next time he teaches it, it will be even better - with a little more structure. A very good class though. You get to know your classmates and team and more about yourself.
I didnt learn as much as I would of liked to have learned
Make sure you opt in for the ABS style of learning. At first you will feel a little lost but once you get a handle on how the class is ran, I think you will get a lot out of it.
class was very fun and interesting. the only dislike i had about his class was that the syllabus was a little hard to decode. it was hard to keep tabs on your grade because he doesnt go by a traditional grading scale. i kinda thought the service records was a little ridiculous. but overall he was a great professor and his class was pretty easy.
Very nice and approachable. He does not teach in a very structured format but once you get used to it, it's sort of nice.
Excellent instructor, interesting class more activities than typical classes. Unique grading criteria. Very informative.
Enjoyed every minute of his class. Everything about the class was new to me. Dr. Bright takes great interest in class and gives the students the power to learn for themselves and teach other students the concepts presented in the textbook. Wonderful learning environment.
At the start of his class things were very confusing. It was unlcear what really needed to be done at times in order to get a good grade. Mostly group work.
Did very well with his lectures, and I thought the material was interesting. However, he was trying a new class format, so I don't think I got a really good feel of him as a prof. He's a good guy, but the class (team leading) was not so hot. I would recommend Dr. Bright, and I'll likely be having him again.
Dr. Bright = great professor. He does not dictate, he discusses topics with the class. Great group activities- learn much. 3 essays were required, but they were not hard to write. Overall, definitely reccomend class to others.
Dr. brights class was completely different from any other class that i have ever taken at Wright State. He flipped the script on us and made class more enjoyable by lettting the students interact more. He wants to hear what you think then rather just listen to him. Grading scale is different in a good way, should get an A or B.
Dr. Bright is an excellent professor who uses a different teaching method that allows the students to use their preferred way of learning. This learning environment makes it easier to learn and keeps everyone involved and participating! A lot of group work is needed, but you make many new friends in this course!I recommend Dr. Bright!
Professor Brights class is very enlightening. It is strongly recommended that you come ready to participate in social activities. If you dont like structure you may not want to take this class but if you are interested in being able to function in a less structured setting its the perfect class to do so!
Dr. Bright is a great teacher who takes a very different approach to teaching. His classes are always interesting and you can honestly say you have walked away from the class with something you'll remember forever. This class offered lots of ambiguity in the beginning but things got much clearer as time went on.
Great class would recommend to everyone. Time is very well spent. Alot of group work and class interaction. Class does a great job of preparing you for the workforce
No tests, but has fishbowls and lots of paper requirements
The class is easy, but be prepared to be clueless the entire term. The general consensus even at week ten of the class is utter chaos. There is a lot of ''group'' work and sub groups, not so much work as communication. Grades come from 3 papers and participation as well as open book online quizzes~ Book is must for quizzes!
This class was extremely challenging as far as finding time to fulfill all the reading and writing requirements. As long as you complete all assigned readings, and plan ahead to complete work early, you will be able to keep up with the class home work. The in class activities were different from the typical classroom setup, but in a good way!
This class was unlike any other I have ever taken at WSU! It was very intertaining and I learned a lot from Dr. Bright. He really knows his stuff! I would recommend taking this class for any business major!
The guy is a nice man but to teach a management class you should have some private industry experience, which Dr. Bright doesn't have. You know what they say about those that can't make it in the real world, they teach others who to. It is a little disconcerting that this is the only person the Business School can find to teach this class.
Good professor, genuinely interested in student success. Class setup is confusing, a lot of work required but not too difficult. I would take this prof again.
This guy is awesome! David Bright FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful prof. Take this class if you get a chance. This class was very stress-free it requires a lot of classroom participation. I suggest purchasing the online text not the book, because it is not used a lot.
Interesting approach to learning MGMT. Very hands on & practical. Attendance is necessary and it can be a draining class. lots to do, much expected of you in the way of educating peers. I would recommend getting in a group you can rely on, & appointing a good admin person to keep things straight. Overall good class if you want to "practice" MGMT.
Dr. Bright is a friendly, personable professor! He's so kind and open to his students, and he made MGT an interesting, interactive course. It was a fun approach to a class--gave a whole new meaning to group work! Great! Take this class if you can!
VERY GOOD PROFESSOR!!! Ecellent!!! If you need to take MGT 304 choose Dr. Bright. He is very open with his students and he cares about their opinions :) .
Interesting class and approach to teaching management.Very easy class but involves a lot of work and group work. If you participate fully, you can really learned a lot from this class. Dr. Bright is very helpful, nice, and always supportive of students and their opinions and ideas! Class approach is a nice change from lecture and test style!
Dr. Bright brings a different approach when teaching his classes. He uses a little unorthodox style when teaching Management in an Organization. Overall, I like the class and your grade will reflect on how much time and effort you put into it.
This teacher has a very different approach to teaching but it works. Going to his class is like going to work, and learning seems like it is on the job training. Excellent class
Dr Bright is an extremely good teacher. He lets you pretty much run the class by yourself in your groups. It is a different teaching style, but if you go in with an open mind I'm sure you will get an A!
His style is very "transformational" and "theory Y." He allows students to have input and he acts as a facilitator. Group work is heavy and participation is essential to a good grade. Overall, this is the sort of interaction business courses should create since business in the real word requires working with people, problem solving, etc.
The class is very group intensive. The class is overall pretty fun and you learn a lot from his unique teaching style. His test are really different and I'm not sure I really like the style of them.
Dr. Bright is a very group intensive teacher. The point of the class was to display ambiguity and it worked. Attendance is not necessarily mandatory, but does count toward your final grade, as do attendance, online quizzes, and online postings. No tests, but plenty of papers since it is a writing intensive course.
Dr. Bright is the best prof at Wright State. His class isn't a cake walk like some seem to think. There is some work involved and it is primarily in a group setting. The material is important and he knows how to teach it well. There were no tests but there was quite a bit of writing. One of the most useful classes that I've taken.
Great Professor! The whole class is group based. Recomend him to any one who needs to take MGT 304!
Dr. Bright is by far the best professor I have EVER had! The class is the best I have EVER taken! It's IMPOSSIBLE to describe this class because of the limit on here! The lessons you learn in this class will stay with you long after college because of Dr. Bright's teaching methods! If you don't take him for MGT 410, you are missing out for sure!!!!
This class is a joke, It's hard to believe that this is required. He is extremely nice and genuinely cares for his students but the grading process is a joke. Spend 80% of classes in groups rehashing what is in the book to each other. This is an easy A but you will not learn anything.
David Bright is a good professor. The only problem with this class is the fact that there is NO structure to it at all. It's a Management course. MGT majors like structure. Don't stress too much, you'll be fine.
Dr. Bright is an amazing teacher. He lets the class manage itself and it open minded to any ideas. If you must take MGT 304, you MUST take it with Dr. Bright!!!!!
Dr. Bright is a very interesting professor with the way he teaches the class. It was fun to attend and it is hard to get bored with it. The workshops are very interesting to hold. Doing a journal at least 5 times is also different. You also have to do service activity point upkeep. This was my challenging part. Overall, I really enjoyed him!
This is a very enjoyable class. During the quarter, you will have 2 essays to write with the best one counted toward your grade. Service is very important part of this class; You need 30 service points so start early.
This is definitly an interesting class. It's not too difficult as long as you participate in class and make sure to do all your work. You have one paper to write, but it not difficult at all. This class it NOT for you if you don't like working in groups! That's all you do in this class is work within a group that you decide about the second week.
This class is interesting as well as helpful to your career in management and yourself as a person. Throughout you will be asked to do a fair amount of introspection which helps in application of the business theories taught. It is evident from the start that Dr. Bright truly enjoys teaching and brings 100% to every class.
Dr. Bright is an excellent professor! The class was always something I looked forward to; even thought it was late on a Friday night. He made class energizing and interesting every week!
One of the best Professors I have ever had (and this is my third degree): a true example of what a facilitator is whose knowledge base and high skill enable him to keep a class engaged and inspired. He manages to keep his audience in creative thinking 100% of the time. His aspiration is to make of us better leaders and he has attained that.
I am currently taking this class during the winter intersession. This is the last week only 2 days left! There are 2 exams, online quizzes, group work/presentatons, journal entries, service points, paper. At first seems overwhelming, but stick with it! Do not opt out! You will learn a lot about the class and yourself. Not an easy A, but possible.
Best teacher i've ever had, his teaching method is really good and laid back.
I am taking Dr. Bright for MGT 304 over winter intersession 2010 and I thought he was great! I am a Rehab Major so I thought this class was going to be useless but Dr. Bright made it fun and interesting. His teaching style is very different and is heavy on group activity. He has a weird test layout but overall the class was fun.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to look forward to a 2+ hour class? That's how I feel every day with Dr. Bright. His teaching style is very unique and heavily relies on peer teaching, but surprisingly the entire experience IS fun and enjoyable. This is the university experience I've always wanted! (Try it!)
Dr. Bright's teaching style is very unique and different from any other classroom I've been in. Relies heavily on peer groups. The class is very interactive, fast paced, and overall enjoyable.
Dr. Bright leads a very hands-on class. You really have to enjoy participating in class to do well. Luckily, I do. We did a lot of group work & he had an interesting way of putting us into group and teaching us concepts, but I can't complain. He is a great teacher & I had a lot of fun in class & took a lot from it. Take him if you can!
Amazing teacher. Class was really fun and class is group oriented and you have a paper and two exams that are each ten questions long. Definitely take this class
Very good, Professor
Take this professor whenever possible. He uses a different format which will take some time to get used to. But by the end though you realize it made it easier on you. When you get put into your groups be sure to utilize your team members as much as possible and focus on building inter-personal relationships with them.
You would love to have this professor. He is very informative and easy to follow. His format is enjoyable and you will will learn tremendous amounts from taking this class
I am so glad I took Dr.Brights class. He is an awesome teacher and the class is so fun! You do a lot of group work and do fun activities that help you learn the topics. Overall, this has been the best class I have ever taken and it was all because of Dr. Bright!
I am so glad I took this class. Dr. Bright's teaching style is different than any other teacher I have taken. The class structure is very group oriented and ties the material to fun activities that help you learn the topics. I would suggest this class to all students no matter what your major.
A word of advice for the next group of students would be to just hang in there. This class may seem like a lot of work which it is but it goes smoothly by and its easy to be quite frank. Dr. Bright is a really great professor and you should be confident that he teaching styles are the best. I would also say team up with group members when doing the
Great professor, great class. Very unstructured which took time getting used to. Be prepared for lots of writing at the end of the quarter. I learned alot and will use what I learned where ever I go after college.
You get points in class for writing on here. His class is so CONFUSING. Tons of group work. Action and Home group. LOTS of activities. You have to stand in front of the class and talk ALL the time. If your a quiet person you will dread this class. Attendance is not mandatory so I missed alot. I got an B in this class.Weekly journals, everyones same
Great professor. The only reason I rated him as unclear is because that is part of the class's design. There is a lot of busy work but most of it is fun and easy to do. By the time you are done with the class you will understand the material better than in a traditonal class. This was by far one of the most interesting classes I've taken.
A very nice professor. The beginning of class was confusing and definatly stressful to try to understand what you are supposed to be doing. The way he runs his classroom is different from any professor I have ever had. A new way of learning and I took a lot from the class.
Great teacher. Takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you think outside of the box. Enjoyable to come to class and learn for once. Not your typical class, no tests just a lot of busy work. Take him!!
Dr. Bright is a very nice professor. There are no exams, but 2 papers plus final essay questions at the end. No structure at all, students facilitate class instead of the traditional way of teaching. A LOT of WORK! This class takes you out of comfort zone. You may learn more about yourself than learning theories or anything else. HARD to get an A!
This was a very different class. At the beginning I didnt know what to expect. Now that I have went through it I feel like I have become more developed as a person. Ive done things I never thought I would do. I feel like you grasp the concepts better with live activities. The only issue is knowing where you stand. I dont know what grade i will get
Great professor! Class has a different structure from anything I ever took. Class facilitates chapter. It's important to keep up to speed with what's going on. Not an easy A but it you do what you're suppose to do, you'll get a decent grade.
class is a bit crazy at first but stick with it as it get easier and you will understand it. We all fee lost when it starts...
This is a great class. Its like a roller coaster ride if you've never been on one. You don't know what to expect, its starts going up and you're like what tha heck, its going down really fast and you're just holding on, and then you get to the end and you want to do it again.Every management student should take this class.
This class was great, and Dr. Bright really enjoys teaching it which helps out a lot. It's something I wish I could've taken back in sophomore year. However, you need to go into it with an open mind and do not expect the "normal" syllabus or class set up.
Dr. Bright is a great professor. His class is not on ordinary lecture, he assigns learning teams instead. His test are easy if you study, but he requires a lot of writing, which made us wonder why it wasn't a writing intensive class. He is willing to work with students and if you come to class everyday, it's hard for you to fail.
He has a very interesting class. Overall it is an easy class. Just listen to what he has to say and GET THOSE SERVICE HOURS! One of the key components to this class is getting the right group together. If you have a bad group, it could ruin the entire class. Attendance isn't mandatory, the reading quizes are easy, and he is willing to listen to you
I think the professor did a very good job at creating a group dynamic within the class. It was a nice break of pace with all the other boring and mindless note taking classes that fill colleges. Overall, I enjoyed this class and this professor.
Professor Bright was very helpful during this quarter. He has a strong understanding of his field, and makes an above average effort to ensure everyone in the class is involved in the discussions and lectures.
Class was pretty easy. There is a lot of work to do, but it is mostly busy work. The tests are kind of hard, but you get a chance to take it with your group as well as individually. Overall, this was a pretty easy class.
Dr. Bright is very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed this class. It’s different than most classes. Classes are about half lecture and half group discussions. Don’t be afraid even though it may sound intimidating. Dr. Bright is extremely helpful, personal, optimistic person. I recommend taking him!
His class was easy.. lots of open book quizzes .. exams where open book group tests.. all assignments were easy.
This class was an easy A. But it was also useless. Ive never seen a more incomprehensible syllabus in my life. I say take him if you just want an A. But if this class is important to you and you want to learn something take someone else.
Dr. Bright is a good teacher, but grading style was not good. It was hard to tell where you stood most of the time, the grades were not percentages, but Outstanding, Good Plus, Good, and Poor. This kind of felt like grade school. :( Working with teams was a good experience though, but I don't know if what we did actually will help in the future
This is an easy A, but the grading scale is similar to an elementary school grading scale. There is more work than you get out of the class. Most students had confusion about responsibilities for the class until a few weeks into the semester. Dr. Bright is very nice though, so don't be afraid to ask him for help.
Very fun class. Dr.Bright is a great teacher and very helpful
Best MGT class I've ever taken. Syllabus looks like alot at first but class isn't to much work. Class was filled with activities and group work. Groups are built and structured to succeed. NOT YOUR AVERAGE GROUP WORK. 2 Papers are not bad, weekly journals = easy, oral Midterm and Final are NOT BAD AT ALL. I got a strong A and really enjoyed class.
The syllabus seems overwhelming and hard at first, but as the class progresses, the assignments become easier to do. The capacity to learn expands as the class continues. Looking back, I thought the workload would be unbearable but each assignment was 'easy' in terms of how much progress I had initially made. You will learn so much in this class!
it's a great class that i have been take and i really like it because i got a lot from it and, it's also fun to shear your ideas and get a feedback from others and i as i'm international student on this class i feel i'm good with my classmate and specially with my group members by the time we feel more nicely and work together. it's really a nice.
Best management class I have taken at WSU. Syllabus seems like a lot at first but once you get started everything flows together. There is a lot of group work, but I loved it.
This class was fun, engaging, challenging, and insightful. Dr. Bright is clearly passionate about what he teaches and that passion is contagious. This is not the traditional read-lecture-test-repeat type of class. Be open-minded and you will learn so much. Easily the best the class I’ve had in 2 ½ years.
The Syllabus seems a little daunting - but you can't judge a book by it's cover. This is by far one of the best classes I have ever taken in the 3 years I've been at WSU. By the mid/end of the semester the students (through workshops) teach the class material by way of group activities/games etc. Concepts covered are fun, real, and relevant.
Best class ever!!! I wish all of my classes were structured like this. A lot of work but it's easy work and you use everything you learn in this class :-)
Most hands on teacher in the business school. Highly recommended!
The class set-up is unlike any other; it is very hands on and facilitated by the students.I think Dr. Bright plays a huge role in the class, as he is a very easy person to relate to and to understand. I highly recommend this class even if it is just an elective.

Dr. Bright has a unique teaching style, but that is a good thing. It is a lot of work, but at the same time it is also an enjoyable experience. Those who don't like teams may be anxious about his teaching methods, but don't worry it is not as bad as you think it will be.
One of the best professors I have ever had. He really cares about students and his class is interesting and fun.
This class is a joke. You don't learn anything. People like it because it is an easy A.
not going it
Overall, I would gladly recommend Dr. Bright's class to others. If you're looking for an easy A, as others rating him would say, be prepared to participate often and facilitate activities. This is a "hands-on" learning type of class, so you can't just not participate and think that you will get a good grade without contributing to the class.
Dr. Bright is amazing. Even if you get a lot of work to do, but you are going to learn a lot from Dr. Bright and this class. I recommend everyone to take this class with him.
This class is different than other classes you have probably taken before. It is much more hands on and expect a lot of group work. When you get the syllabus the work may seem a little much but it all starts to flow together. The students will do most of the teaching by the midpoint of the semester. Be open minded the class was fun and informative.
Just take the class with an open mind. It's not difficult, there are just a lot of small projects. The class is easy if you keep up with the assignments, contribute to your team, and participate. You will learn about yourself and who you want to become. This class changed my life in several ways, mostly in the relationships I gained from it.
What a joke! We still have no syllabus. Shady grading system. This class is soooo lame!
There was a lot of ambiguity as this was the first time he had taught the class, but Dr. Bright kept us as informed as possible. The project was "real" work and required a lot of time, but we contributed something of value to the company with which we were consulting. Take 4720 (High Performance Teams) first- then 4200 will make much more sense.
This is a team oriented class, so be ready to work in teams the entire time. Also, you have to approach this class with an open mind. It is not structured like any other college course, but it is a very great class. Dr. Bright is very intelligent and a wonderful instructor for the course.
Great professor. You can learn a lot from him and the class is relatively interesting. My only concern was the ambiguous projects and work assignments.
Dr. Bright takes you out of your comfort zone with his teaching style. The class was not difficult, but that had a lot to do with the interesting topic of Organizational Development and how to make positive changes within your environment. He greatly impacted my opinion of WSU and the MBA program as a whole. Fantastic teacher, mentor, and person.
