Dr. Briscoe is very intelligent and he cares about his students. He can help you not only in class, but just life in general. He knows a lot and he can help you; he's very encouraging.

One would have to be an idiot if they cannot pass Briscoe. However you most definetaly have to study. His tests are tricky, but he is fair. He does not test you on material that he did not cover. He doesn't try to set you up to fail like most professors. His kind is hard to come by.

Dr.Briscoe is the greatest teacher that i've had since i've been at ualr. His test u understand them he give u all the information in your notes thats on the test. And he helps his students he cares about his students..!!! GREAT TEACHER TAKE HIM!!!

I love Dr. Briscoe!! As long as you come to class for the most part and read the book, you will make an A. The study guide he gives out is very helpful, just copy this down and make notes of what he says is important and the tests will be easy.

I've taken just about all his classes because they are super easy. Class is not mandatory but I would recommend for his sociology class. Test comes exactly from his notes. Great teacher and cares for his students.

He is great. Gives an outline for each chapter and explains everything on it. Tests are easy, goes over everything on them. He makes the subject very interesting an easy to understand by using examples.

Dr. Briscoe is super cool! All you have to do is to do nothing in every class but listening until the review day. On Review Day, Dr. Briscoe shows Study Guide on the projector practically telling the answers so write everything down then study it. If you do that, you will pass every test and eventually the class with flying A!

Dr. Briscoe is the most awesome professor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students, both inside and outside the classroom. He wants you to succeed. He goes over the answers prior to the tests and tells you what pages they are on. He is so sweet. I would suggest anyone take him if you want to have a good time in class.

After being out of school for 32 years and deciding to come back, I could not have had a better instructor than Dr. Briscoe. He basically gave you the answers to your test questions in his lectures. He is genuinely concerned about everyone in his class doing their best, passing the class, and achieving their goal in life. Thank God for people him.

Best instructor in UALR ! You don't even need to think about taking his class! He is an amazing instructor. It's not a very very easy class. But if you go to test reviews and just read the summaries in the book, you have no reason to get A or B. Dr. Briscoe made me choose my major in Sociology. If I have a chance, I would take him for every class !

Extremely easy class, all his tests are open book and class is not mandatory. I never went to class and I made an A. The tests go in order of the book and they are extremely easy, take him if you want the EASIEST A youll make in college

Dr. Briscoe is all about helping the student excel in the field. You can tell that he's been there. Out in the field working and changing peoples lives. You will understand and have a working knowledge of what family violence does to the abused and the abuser.

Dr. Briscoe is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. He really care about his students. For the most part if you want to pass the test you need to attend class because he goes over the test material then. He gives great examples if you don't understand. If there are raises available he needs it!

Come to class and you're good, seriously. The tests are always based on lecture and he repeats the facts he wants you to know. Lecture is also hilarious, mainly because he's just a super goofy dude. One nit pick I have is that he puts more emphasis on having the book than I found necessary.

Took him for FamViol and SocioFAMily. Very caring, but talks too much about life and not what is going to be on the test. So READ the book bcus u have to! Tests are very specific questions over 4 chapters, so u don't know what will be on it . I heard he doesn't do open book anymore. But really cool Proffesor

Dr. Briscoe is an amazing professor! He is very inspirational and tells you what you need to know for his tests. He is one of the best professors at UALR.

He is a really nice person, his class is not hard at all but DO NOT take it too easily. He does read off of his test as his method of teaching. You do not need the book, but he does suggest that you buy it. I bought it and never opened it once, because I took notes since he read off of his test.

I took this class to get my first year experience out of the way and wow did this teacher have a great lasting presence on me. I would recommend anyone to take him.

Dr. Briscoe was an amazing teacher, he is laid back and very understanding. Attendance is not madatory but he expects that since you are an adult you should show up for class. Starts class a little early, so you may miss the first part of the lecture, but he normally repeats stuff. Only gives tests no homework. Note taking is a MUST! Overall great

Dr. Briscoe was one of my first on campus college professors. The first test was very easy, however as the semester went on they got slightly harder. The test often has material that we did not go over in class. He is very caring and funny, but does waste a lot of class time getting off topic. He did offer bonus points!! Love Dr. Briscoe

A nice/funny professor, interesting lectures, tests were kinda hard however only because the first time there were questions he didn't go over and then for the rest of the tests he told us random facts that were on. Also 3 six page papers throughout the semester but I literally just copied from the powerpoint and got at least a B everytime.

Dr. Briscoe is by far one of the best professors I have had. He understands that we are all living in a global pandemic and doesn't put a large load onto you. He is very inspirational and loving of his students and always stated how he wished we were in person so he could meet all of us. He gives great lectures and note points. I Recommend him 100%

Super easy class and very chill professor. Made 100s on all assignments except for the final one which received a 99. Only complaint is that 99 because I didn’t correctly number all of my pages. Otherwise, excellent course and professor

Took his class online and it was super easy. A discussion post every week and only 3 essays throughout the semester. Essays were chapter reviews so pretty easy to write, made great grades on the essays.

Dr. Briscoe is a voice worth hearing. You will be engaged, challenged in your internalized views, and congratulated on every victory. He's a professor I'm disappointed I won't be taking again. Be careful about turning in group discussion points; I dropped the ball here, which affected my grade, but that was my fault.

He assigns a discussion post each week, it will be over the chapters. There are three papers, easy just follow his requirements. He grades very easy just don't fall behind because he will not make any exceptions. No final. Easy class and you learn a lot. Would for sure take again.

Dr. Briscoe is an amazing professor! He's easy to reach by email and tries to work with his students. I've had him for two of my sociology classes so far and if he taught more classes, I would take hime again. If you do all of the work on time, you're guaranteed to pass.
